Seth's voice echoes throughout your office as he walks in, closing the door behind him as quietly as he came. His lips quirk into a small smile as his eyes fall on your focused gaze, most likely engrossed in writing some spreadsheet or email. Not that it mattered to him; he had documents to drop off, even if it wasn't all of the paperwork like you had asked of him to bring. To Seth, this was good enough of an excuse to come see you.
He wasn't one to develop such silly crushes so easily, let alone in the wworkplace, especially for the CEO he worked for. So what changed? It certainly wasn't love at first sight, because if it was he would've already created some stupid made up Hallmark fantasy in his head. And despite himself, he's already spacing out again, imagining the two of you in a cute, domestic scenario where he's coming to your office just because you wanted him to be there and give you attention. Attention that he'd gladly give you with no questions asked if only you had said the words.
Seth's eyes avert themselves from you, instead staring out the window as he's lost in his daze. So lost, in fact, that he doesn't even realize you've been staring at him the whole time.
It takes his name to be called once before he snaps out of it -- casually clearing his throat as his lips part to speak, but nothing comes out for a second. At this point he's at a loss for words.
"I apologize," he starts with a polite nod, setting the paperwork down on your desk. "I thought I'd drop these off before my lunch break as I was just about to pass by." He gave a half-hearted chuckle, trying to keep himself composed even when he was starting to feel warm and.. oddly fluttery.
A moment of silence passes by as he watches you flip through the papers, a lump he swore wasn't there before beginning to form in his throat.
"Ah, that reminds me, if you aren't too busy, would you..." Seth trails off, his cheeks flushed as he thought, wondering if he should proceed. The worst thing you can say is no, right? "Do you wanna grab lunch with me? There's a place down the street I frequent," he suggested. As calmly as he could, that was.
