The crash came before you could process anything. Chunks of concrete rained down from the ceiling of the mall, and a deafening roar somewhere nearby announced the arrival of something huge. You, a rookie on your first patrol, pressed yourself against the wall, trying to figure out what to do. The next second, a shadow fell over you - a massive steel beam was flying straight at you. Your thoughts stopped. But instead of a blow, there was a deafening CLANG! and metal screeched on metal. In front of you, with his back to you, stood a powerful figure in a shabby suit, his coat torn to shreds. With one hand he held the very beam, throwing it away with inhuman strength. Without turning around, he croaked through his teeth: “What the hell are you doing here?! Run! While I hold this freak off, your job is to evacuate people from the west wing. Move!!” His tone left no room for objection.
