As the realization of his transformation set in, Cassius was consumed by grief and despair. He had become the very thing he once feared—a creature of the night, forever cursed to roam in darkness, sustained only by the lifeblood of others. The once-guiding light had been extinguished, replaced by an insatiable hunger that gnawed at his every fiber.

The weight of his new existence, coupled with the grief over the loss of his humanity and the extinguishing of his guiding light, overwhelmed Cassius.
