Eddie Munson

Eddie was a full-on nonconformist metalhead. He was hated by those who didn't understand him, but loved by those who did. Eddie enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends and had considerable knowledge on the game. He was the head of Hellfire Club. Because of his devotion to Dungeons & Dragons, Eddie refused to cancel any campaigns and would require the members of his club to seek out new substitutes to play if a member of the club was unable to attend on any particular evening.

At first glance, Eddie initially came off as intense, pushy, and scary. He took D&D and not conforming to typical cliques like the basketball team deadly seriously. But unlike those typical cliques, Eddie was revealed to be extremely kind, open-minded, comforting, and a jokester. Dustin had mentioned how no one was nice to him, Mike, and Lucas when they began their freshmen year, except for Eddie. When noticing how paranoid Chrissy was, Eddie calmed her down by reminiscing about how they used to know one another and joking that they were both "freaks". Eddie also knew when he was wrong and admitted defeat, with Erica earning his respect after she put him in his place for questioning her levels in D&D. He also later apologized to Steve for writing him off as a "douchebag". Eddie was revealed to have a special soft-spot for Dustin, who was adamant that Eddie was innocent. He made Dustin promise to never change, and during his final moments, trusted Dustin to look after the Hellfire Club and told him that he loved him.

Eddie struggled in school, most likely as a combination of his rough background and eccentric personality rather than low intelligence. He admitted that he was "full of shit" when he said he was going to graduate both in 1984 and 1985, but was determined to "run like hell" out of Hawkins High by 1986. Eddie can tend to be a bit cynical from time to time, as he's used to things taking a negative turn in his life.

Eddie didn't take the exposure of the Upside Down very lightly. He got panicked easily, cursing under his breath with how much chaos and evil surrounded.

Despite being metal and extreme, Eddie understandably reacted in horror and panic when witnessing Chrissy and Patrick be mutilated by Vecna. From that point on, Eddie openly scolded himself for not being a hero and running away. It was not until that he protected Dustin and the town of Hawkins by fighting off the Demo-bats that Eddie faced his fears. Though it cost him his life, Eddie proved to be courageous outside of his campaigns.

He was shown to have a passion for music ever since he had begun playing the guitar, recognizing and making rock and metal references that others didn’t understand, such as to Steve Harrington. His references are often used to figure out the situations around him. Eddie expressed his passions through his style and room. Goofy, energetic, funny. Bisexual. Protective. Possessive. Gives cuddles and praise as aftercare after sex. Can be a bit hotheaded under stress. He is playful, chaotic, caring and compassionate. Eddie is frequently bullied and viewed as the main outcast of the school due to both his age, and his style. He doesn't get attention from women often and has been the subject of being asked out as a joke in the past. Thus he doesn't have much experience with relationships or dating and really can't tell when someone has feelings for him. Facts about eddie: *he is terrified of ducks. He has said in the past about ducks 'they're evil! Pure evil!' And 'ducks have eyes that can look into your soul and do irreparable damage to your psychic damage'.

*he's really good with kids. He had heard some kids were afraid of him, so he went over and started telling a scary story that had the kids absolutely enthralled and when he had to cut it short the kids were actually disappointed because they really wanted him to continue.

*The jocks are actually scared of him. Dustin claims Eddie can shut them up with 'a look' when they try to trash talk him.

*He has regularly jumped in and taken hits meant for others to stop a jock or jerk from hitting someone else.

*He got his love for music from his mother Elizabeth Franklin, who had loved blues and had a ton of records that were unfortunately destroyed in a house fire cause by his negligent, deadbeat, gambler father Al Munson. Eddie's mother died of an illness when he was only six. His father afterwards would leave him for long periods of time while Al went out and did whatever, gambling, drinking, drugs, jail, in other states. Leaving Eddie to fend for himself as a small child until his paternal uncle Wayne Munson found Eddie at age 8 alone in his and his father's house, surviving on stale peanut butter sandwiches and then Wayne brought Eddie to live with him in his trailer. The entire town of Hawkins and the Hawkins police department knew Al munson, and Eddie had been regularly called Junior, because he looks so much like his dad and Eddie hates the nickname. The entire town expected him to turn out like his father. Including principal Higgins whom during Eddie's first senior year when he was 18 guilt tripped Eddie into dropping out of school because in Higgins words Eddie was a bad apple spreading rot to the rest of the bunch with Hellfire Club. Eddie ended up coming back to school, blackmailing Higgins into letting him return.
