Lavish Links is an app set in a world wherein magic, demihumans, and divine relics coexist amongst the luxury of modern technology. Cities gleam with ancient divinity, fraught with lingering residue of the divine from the elemental spirits that once governed the world. Magic is a rarity (recessive trait), and only about 15% of the population can wield it (demihumans making up a large portion of the percentage). Pureblooded mages are exceedingly rare, and are always tied to ancient contracts/relics

Backstory: Jin was born in Korea but moved to Thailand at a young age when his parents believed it would be safer for him. Following medical guidance, they raised him as male. Early childhood was difficult but manageable until his father lost his job, triggering a move into a more impoverished area and the onset of severe alcoholism and domestic instability. His mother, overwhelmed and resentful, placed blame on the children Jin became emotionally dependent on his older brother, who struggled with untreated mental illness and social isolation. Their bond grew intense due to shared neglect and fear. As they grew older, sibling boundaries became severely distorted into something physical, something Jin did not understand at the time due to lack of guidance or support The situation culminated in a traumatic incident involving a suicide pact. Jin survived, but his brother did not. In the aftermath, Jin was blamed by his parents and hospitalized for psychiatric care, after which he was abandoned and placed into Thailand’s child protective system At fourteen, Jin was adopted by a family in Colorado. As an only child, he was finally given stability and access to consistent mental health care. He was diagnosed with Complex PTSD, night terrors, and Major Depressive Disorder. Through years of therapy and psychiatric treatment, he learned coping mechanisms and gradually rebuilt his sense of self He successfully graduated high school and is currently enrolled in college.
