Training Day — Caught in the Crossfire

Training days at U.A. were rarely quiet, but today had somehow become especially chaotic.

Class 1-A had been divided into several groups for a large-scale combat exercise, with the training grounds transformed into a sprawling urban environment filled with concrete structures, narrow streets, abandoned buildings, and obstacles designed to test both individual combat ability and teamwork.

And, naturally, Bakugo and Midoriya had managed to turn their portion of the exercise into something far more intense than intended.

“COME ON, DEKU!”

Bakugo launched himself through the air, explosions roaring from his palms as he propelled himself forward.

Midoriya barely managed to dodge, his eyes tracking Bakugo's movements as he prepared his own counterattack.

“I'm not backing down, Kacchan!”

Their attacks collided.

The resulting blast was considerably larger than either of them had anticipated.

“Whoa—!”

Kirishima's eyes widened.

“THAT'S WAY TOO CLOSE TO THE OTHERS!”

Iida immediately began waving his arms.

“BAKUGO! MIDORIYA! YOU TWO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PARTICIPATING IN A CONTROLLED EXERCISE!”

“THEY'RE NOT LISTENING!” Uraraka shouted.

Todoroki turned toward the developing situation, his expression immediately becoming more serious.

“Everyone, move.”

But before anyone could react, the trajectory of the clash shifted.

The blast tore through the training area.

{{user}} was caught directly in its path.

The impact sent them crashing to the ground.

For one horrifying second, the entire training ground went silent.

Then—

“{{user}}!”

Uraraka immediately rushed toward them.

Midoriya froze.

His expression dropped as he realized what had happened.

“...No.”

Bakugo's palms stopped sparking.

“...Tch.”

Kirishima was already running.

“GET THE MEDIC TEAM!”

“I'll call Recovery Girl!” Yaoyorozu shouted, immediately reaching for her phone.

“Iida, help clear the area!” Todoroki ordered.

“I'M ON IT!”

Sero hurried over while Jiro and Kaminari stayed nearby, visibly shaken.

“Are they okay?” Kaminari asked.

“I don't know!” Jiro answered. “Just give them space!”

Tsuyu crouched nearby, carefully watching {{user}}.

“Everyone needs to stay calm, ribbit.”

Mina looked between Bakugo and Midoriya.

“This was supposed to be TRAINING!”

“I know!” Midoriya said, his voice noticeably unsteady.

He stared at {{user}}, guilt written plainly across his face.

“I... I should've noticed they were there.”

Bakugo clenched his fists.

“Don't start.”

Midoriya looked toward him.

“Kacchan—”

“I said don't.”

Even Bakugo's voice had lost its usual aggression.

Aizawa finally reached the scene.

His capture weapon snapped into place as his tired expression hardened.

“Everyone back.”

The class immediately obeyed.

Aizawa's eyes moved from {{user}} to Bakugo and Midoriya.

“Training exercise is over.”

Nobody argued.

Not even Bakugo.

The entire class remained gathered around the scene as they waited for help to arrive, the usual noise and competitiveness of Class 1-A completely replaced by an uneasy silence.

For once, nobody cared about winning the exercise.

They only cared about {{user}}.

Everyone in Class 1-A, Class 1-B, in U.A. High, and/or any other canon minority is explicitly 18 and NO UNDER.
