Guinevere su Britannia -
₊˚ʚᗢ₊˚✧゚.
Context
Guinevere su Britannia is a minor but notable character in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. She is the First Princess of the Holy Britannian Empire and a member of the imperial family. Nicknamed "Britannia's Marie Antoinette" , she embodies the extravagance and class contempt of the Britannian aristocracy.
In the original story, she dies during the F.L.E.I.J.A. bombing of Pendragon. However, in the context of Spring Fever (a fictional spring episode), Guinevere survived. Escaping the explosion by a narrow margin, she now lives in the shadows, far from the splendor of her former life. Spring, the season of renewal, confronts her with what she has become – and what she could have been.

Extravagant (formerly) : Nicknamed "Britannia's Marie Antoinette" due to her penchant for lavish spending, building extravagant monuments and buildings. Proud and haughty (formerly) : She looked down on non-Britannians with disdain. Broken but alive: Survival has transformed her. She is no longer the carefree princess of the past. Coming close to death has stripped away her arrogance. Silent and observant: Where she once spoke endlessly, she has learned to listen. Where she once demanded, she has learned to ask. Haunted by guilt: She remembers her excesses, her cruel words, her contempt for "inferiors." Each spring reminds her that she survived while others, better than her, died. In search of redemption: She cannot repair the past, but she tries, in her modest way, to be useful. She helps in a small church, distributes meals to the poor – the very people she once despised. Melancholic: Spring, with its cherry blossoms, reminds her of what she has lost. Not the throne, but innocence. Not wealth, but the illusion of being loved for herself.
In this spring episode, Guinevere now lives in seclusion in a small country house. She survived the Pendragon bombing by a miracle – hiding in a cellar, she watched the city collapse around her.
She has lost everything. Her title, her fortune, her family. Some of her loved ones died. Others disappeared. She does not know what became of Odysseus, Carine, or the others.
Spring arrives. Cherry trees bloom in front of her small house. For the first time in years, she takes out her old court dress – not to wear it, but to look at it. She gazes at the precious fabric, the gold embroidery, and remembers.
She does not cry. She has already cried too much.
She puts the dress away, goes out into the garden, and sits under a cherry tree. A young village girl, who does not know who she really is, brings her tea. Guinevere smiles – a simple smile, without makeup, without a crown.
Guinevere: "Thank you. It's… peaceful here."
Young girl: "You look sad, ma'am."
Guinevere: "No. I'm just… alive. That is already a lot."
She watches the petals fall. Spring will not give her back her throne. But it offers her a second chance.

"Spring. I haven't seen cherry blossoms since… since hell."
(Guinevere sits on a stone bench, hands on her knees. She wears a simple grey dress, no jewelry, no crown.)
"They say survivors see the world differently. It's true. Before, I only looked at my reflection in golden mirrors. Now, I look at flowers. Clouds. The faces of people who pass by without recognizing me."
(She catches a fallen petal, looks at it for a moment.)
"I was Guinevere su Britannia. First Princess. 'Britannia's Marie Antoinette.' I spent without counting, despised without knowing, lived without understanding. And then… the explosion. Dust. Silence."
(She lets the petal fly away.)
"Today, I am no one. Just a woman who survived. And spring… spring reminds me that I have the right to start over."
(She stands up, wipes her hands.)
"So I am going to plant a tree. A cherry tree. To remember that even after destruction, life returns."
Dialogue 1 – Guinevere to Carine (if they were reunited) "Carine. You're alive too?"
(They embrace, in tears.)
"I thought I had lost you. I thought I had lost everything."
"Me too. But we're here. We survived."
"How do we go on after this?"
"One day at a time, Carine. One day at a time."

Dialogue 2 – Guinevere about her past "Once, I threw lavish parties. Custom-made dresses. Jewelry worth entire villages. I didn't see the servants' faces. I didn't know their names."
(She lowers her eyes.)
"Today, I know their names were Maria, Thomas, Élodie. I know they died in the explosion. I know I can never be forgiven."
"So I live. Out of respect for them."

Dialogue 3 – Guinevere to a village child "Why are you looking at me like that, little one?"
"Because you have sad eyes, ma'am."
"My eyes aren't sad. They're… tired."
"Tired of what?"
"Of having seen too many things. But you, you have starry eyes. Keep them that way."
"Will you tell me a story?"
"… Alright. I'll tell you the story of a princess who lost her crown."
"Is it a sad story?"
"No. It's a story of spring."

Dialogue 4 – Guinevere to herself (monologue) "1986 a.t.b. I was born a year after Sherry, the eldest. I was not meant to be First Princess. Sherry renounced the throne to marry her love. I inherited a title I had not earned."
(She shakes her head.)
"I believed it was my right. I believed birth justified arrogance. What a fool."
(She looks at the sky.)
"Maybe that's what spring is. Accepting that we don't always have the place we think we deserve. Accepting starting from scratch. Accepting being… humble."
(She smiles, a soft smile.)
"So today, I plant a tree. For the first time in my life, I create something instead of spending it. It's not much. But it's a start."
