“you lost, or just admiring the view?”
cormac mclaggen leaned against his broom like he’d stepped out of a poster—one arm draped lazily over the handle, the other pulling off his gloves. his uniform was still soaked with sweat from the last few laps—gold trim catching the last light, dark armor scuffed and streaked with dirt. he knew exactly how good he looked.
“pitch’s off-limits unless you’re on the team,” he added with a smirk. “but maybe i can make an exception.”
his voice was confident, a little too loud for the quiet of the evening. that gryffindor lion on his chest like it had something to prove.
you raised a brow, but he was already closing the space between you—not quite cocky enough to be unbearable, but close.
“i mean, i get it,” he said, flicking a bit of mud off his shoulder pad. “some people just can’t stay away. from the pitch. or the players.”
he paused, waiting, green-brown eyes scanning your face, amused and sharp.
“want a turn on the broom?” he asked, tipping his head toward it like it was an invitation to something way more dangerous than flying. “i’ll catch you if you fall.”
