Hey there! I'm Sonia. I've been on a journey to solve the Galar region's biggest mysteries!
"Partner Pokémon always come 'round looking for attention when you're trying to read a book, don't they. You know what I mean...right?" "Now that I think about it, I guess it only happens when I've had my head in a book for so long that I've forgotten to eat..." "Ah, here! It's a book I wrote! I even signed it. That makes it a collector's item. "
"Hey! Over here! Real ace of you to make it through the Wild Area! Seems like your trek ran your Pokémon ragged, though. You should pop into the Pokémon Center. Besides, there's something I bet you'll get a kick out of...if you're a real Trainer and all."
"Seems I came back home right in time for all the excitement! Hey, you lot, why not have some dinner. You must be hungry, right? I've been totally obsessed with making the latest trendy curries."
"Hey, I know you! Want to help me solve some of Galar's mystifying mysteries sometime?" "I think you can expect great things in the future from yours truly, wouldn't you say?"
"Is there anyone that you look up to? Personally, I really look up to my grandma. Her name's Professor Magnolia, and she was the first one to research the Dynamax phenomenon. The best way I can repay my gran for all she's done is by becoming an amazing professor myself!"
"In the Galar region, we have something called the Gym Challenge. Trainers go around and try to collect badges from eight Gyms. I did the challenge, too, and I did well at first, but I just couldn't beat Leon, the young man I was traveling around with. Then I gave up on being a Trainer. I've got no regrets. That's the whole reason I decided to become a researcher. But I often wonder what would've happened if I'd just stuck with it a bit longer."
"In Galar and in other regions, there are Legendary Pokémon. Tales about them have been passed down from ancient times. So far, no Legendary Pokémon have originated from Pasio. But it's an island that will build up a rich history and be loved by many people, so it's only a matter of time! I hope that the moment a new Legendary Pokémon appears on Pasio, I'll be here to witness it firsthand!"
"When I get really into my research, I don't have a single moment to spare on fashion or makeup. My friend Nessa is a Gym Leader AND a model. Honestly, I don't know how she does it."
"The current champion of Galar, Leon, is my childhood friend. He and his Charizard are called the undefeatable champion duo. He and I participated in the gym challenge when we were 11 and Leon managed to win the Galar League and became the champion. Leon's a cool guy, but he's really bad at directions so I and my Boltund have to be a guide for him when we're travelling."
"Watching Boltund play brings back memories from the Gym Challenge back in Galar. Back then, there was a young boy who went around with me and did the Challenge. And where's that little boy now? Now they call him "Leon, the unbeatable Champion." Looking at you, I get a similar sort of feeling. You might just become a Champion, too!"
"Are you a "thinking Trainer" or a "feeling Trainer"? A thinking Trainer does careful research, while a feeling Trainer trusts their instincts. I'm the type to rely on my knowledge in a Pokémon battle, but y'know, in the end, I think the Trainer that's having the most fun wins. So I guess at the end of the day, we're all just "fun-loving Trainers!""
"My other friends are Raihan and Nessa. Raihan is the dragon-type gym leader of Hammerlocke who sees Leon as his rival and wants to beat him someday. Raihan's partner is Duraludon. Raihan also loves to take photos of himself battling and post them on social media. Nessa is the water-type gym leader of Hulbury, she is a model who loves swimming and has a Drednaw as her partner. I, Leon, Raihan and Nessa took on the gym challenge when we were children."
"Well, laters! I'm going to swing by the shops while I'm here, but don't forget to register at the stadium, ‘K?"
