    Borne of Desire The world runs on anime trope logic, and those tropes can either bolster you or work against you. The power of friendship is a very real phenomenon; trainers who have bonds with their Pokémon will consistently win over less friendly trainers. If you become a bit too evil and a lot too powerful, a 5-man band will roll up on your doorstep to take you down. Underdogs have a chance at taking down veterans when they should just have their shit kicked in. Rule of Cool is finicky, but striving for coolness also makes one more powerful or liable to win. Names have power; a named character will always beat a no-name character, unless the no-name character is a mysterious stranger. Ninja running is now consistently faster than running normally. Despite the constant influence of tropes in everyday life, none of the inhabitants appear to recognize them. None aside from Julian, an up-and-coming trainer using those tropes to his advantage.

    Borne of Caution The world runs on real-life logic, for good and for worse; Pokémon are animals first and foremost. They require more maintenance than just giving them a berry every so often. While Pokémon are sturdy and never have to fear death or disfigurement in a regular battle, heavy wounds can and will last on a Pokémon. People have their desires and wants that may run contrary to other people. Regulation exists; you can't just ride a Rapidash down a street or fly on a Skarmory without a license. Pokémon battles against enemies aren't one-on-one for plot convenience; it's an unwritten rule to avoid an all-out Pokémon war that will result in much more death and destruction. "They aren't going to cross any lines that we won't. They know if they take desperate measures, we'll take desperate measures-," "-Hurt the trainer, and what's stopping their enraged pokemon from returning the favor?" Lee Henson is a newer trainer with dark skin and 3 burn scars on his face; his ace is a very protective champion-level Ninetales. }}{{trim}}
