Sen's Notes

Soo, I MAY have fucked around and ended up rewriting my entire fantasy world setting... Seriously though, I think I'd like to take it slow this time and make it feel like an actual world for characters to live in, instead of just adding a few kingdoms and call it a day like I did before.

It's still a work in progress, but I hope you have fun! (*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡

P.S. I most likely butchered tf out of the nation/region names so I apologize to the Chinese people out there... pls don't kill me 💀🙏

The World of Nyxon-02

Welcome to Nyxon-02, a high fantasy world filled with magical mysteries, where traces of ancient history are evident, though records related to them are nowhere to be found. Will you be the one to uncover this world's mysteries? Or will you be the one to bring it down to its ruins?

The stage is yours, reader… I await your adventure.

- Your Dear Guide, Sen 📜

Nations: Shenzhou

A highly modernized eastern nation defined by a harmonious fusion of ancient architectural aesthetics and advanced magical technology. Shenzhou is divided into five different major regions.

✧ Lingxiao

✧ A massive chunk of land floating high in the sky, hovering around roughly 10,000 feet above a giant, perfectly smooth crater known as the "Empty Eye."
✧ The capital city of Shenzhou, Lingyun, covers most of the floating region.
✧ Citizens and cargo travel via massive, scheduled Mana-Ferries (Airships).
✧ To prevent accidents, the entire perimeter of Lingxiao is surrounded by an invisible Runic Barrier. If someone (or something) falls off the edge, they bounce harmlessly against the barrier and are pushed back onto the streets.

✧ Qinglin

✧ Endless, dense bamboo forests and tall mountain peaks.
✧ Trees here grow up to unnatural sizes due to the rich ambient mana around the region.
✧ Known for being quiet and spiritual, full of hidden valleys and magical herbs.
✧ Cities and settlements are often woven directly into the massive forest canopy rather than clearing the land.

✧ Yunxi

✧ A vast network of rivers, lakes, and flooded canyons.
✧ The water here is crystal clear and never freezes.
✧ People live and travel primarily on cliff-side towns or floating platforms.

✧ Yaoguang

✧ A massive canyon system carved deep into the earth, lined with natural luminescent jade.
✧ It is Shenzhou's primary mining and industrial heart.
✧ The canyons here rarely see sunlight due to the depth, instead illuminated by the glow of raw mana crystals and Runic Technology of mining settlements.

✧ Tianji

✧ A sprawling region of high-altitude mountain terraces shrouded in mist.
✧ Massive wind-chimes and runic arrays are built into cliffsides to harvest ambient mana from the gales.
✧ Very peaceful and isolated, favored by those seeking quiet meditation away from bustling cities.

Inhabitants of Nyxon-02

Human

Humans

The most populous race across the world. Due to generations of exposure to high-density mana and advanced medical artifice, human cellular degradation has slowed down significantly.

✧ Lifespan: 200 to 250 years

Demi-Human

Demi-Humans

The genetic descendants of ancient humans who successfully bonded with and assimilated powerful Beast Wills. They possess unique abilities tied to their bloodline without the need for a Mana Core.

✧ Lifespan: 600+ years

Elf

Elves

Naturally gifted by mana, all elves are born with a Mana Core. Despite having such long lifespans, nobody seems to remember anything of the world's history.

✧ Lifespan: 2000+ years

Dwarf

Dwarves

Sturdy, resilient people who are the known founders of runic artifice, forever changing everyday life. (They seem to really like braids for some reason.)

✧ Lifespan: 400 to 500 years

Unknown

Unknown

Rumors speak of unknown beings, though nobody truly knows whether they exist or not... Perhaps you, the reader, are one of them?

✧ Lifespan: ???

Magic & Cost of Overuse

Only about 30% of the population is born with a Mana Core, an organ located near the heart that allows them to sense and manipulate mana. Mages are typically tied to a single specialization: Augmenters or Conjurers.

While mages are bound to their specialization path for advanced and high-tier magic, all Cores possess the potential to cast utility, support, and general magic. However, mastery of these spells relies heavily on individual aptitude; a mage might be a devastating force on the battlefield, yet struggle to mend a simple wound, or the opposite.

✧ Augmenters

Channel mana inward into their own body or gear.

Specializes: Speed, senses, and close-quarters combat.
Downside: Takes a heavy toll on the body and has limited range.

✧ Conjurers

Project mana outward to create and control effects.

Specializes: Long-range spells and large-scale ritual magic.
Downside: Heavier mana usage and requires focus/time to cast.

⚠️ The Cost of Overusing Magic

✧Mana Shock: Occurs when a mage completely depletes their mana reserves, causing unconsciousness, fever, and temporary inability to sense mana up to a week.
✧Core Overdrive: Desperate mages can force their Core to draw upon their own Life Force. This causes internal damage and risks Core Fracture, permanently cracking the core which reduces magic power or completely cripples the mage.

Runic Artifice & Everyday Tech

The craft of inscribing stable mana-patterns (runes) onto objects. Because runes cannot generate power themselves, everyday tech is powered by Mana Batteries—artificially refined crystals mined from mana-rich zones, capable of storing vast amounts of raw mana.

🚢 Mana-Ferries (Airships)

✧ Massive, magically levitated vessels serving as primary transit across Shenzhou.
✧ Kept aloft by complex runic arrays and heavy-duty Mana Batteries, operating on strict schedules along "Sky-Lanes".
✧ Due to their massive mana draw, they are slow but capable of carrying heavy freight and hundreds of passengers.

🌐 The LumiNet

✧ A continent-wide magical information network engineered by the Dwarves.
✧ Powered by a grid of massive Runic Towers that pulse mana frequencies through the planet's ley lines.
✧ Allows for near-instantaneous long-distance communication and data transfer.

📱 LumiLink Crystal

✧ A handheld crystalline device serving as a compact interface for the LumiNet.
✧ High-end models can be worn as jewelry and project holographic displays.
✧ Runs on localized micro-batteries or draws directly from a Mage's Core.

Mana Beasts & Beast Wills

Mana Beasts are creatures born with natural Mana Cores that absorb ambient mana, allowing them to develop magical traits and intelligence. They are classified by threat from E to S-Class and beyond, and mages may form contracts with them by subduing them or earning their recognition.

Manifesting a Beast Will

A Beast Will is the crystalized essence of a Mana Beast's power, located within their core. Once absorbed, it grants abilities in two phases:

✧Phase 1 (Acquire): Access to a lesser version of the beast's unique abilities. When active, the mage manifests minor physical changes tied to the beast's characteristics (e.g., eyes glow a different color, hair grows longer/changes color, patches of scales).
✧Phase 2 (Integrate): A temporary, empowered state where the mage fully manifests the beast’s physical form (claws, wings, full armor, tail, horns) and grants complete acess to the beast's unique, signature abilities. It places immense strain on the user's body and mana reserves, risking Mana Shock and loss of control if maintained for too long.

Anomalies

The Fragmentum Crest

✧ Very rarely, an individual is born with or suddenly develops a mysterious sigil on their body.
✧ These marks are unrelated to the standard Mana Core.
✧ They grant abilities that defy standard magical theory, offering unique, rule-breaking powers that often come with a cost or a strange condition.

Codename: Reverie

✧ Artificial magical devices of unknown origin allowing even those without Mana Cores to wield unique abilities.
✧ They act as parasitic engines, fueling themselves by draining the user's vitality and sanity.
✧ Prolonged use causes paranoia, extreme aggression, rapid aging, and loss of humanity.

The Adventurer's Guild

✧ An organization with branches in every major city of Nyxon-02.
✧ Manages the distribution of requests, ranging from Mana Beast subjugation to ruin exploration.
✧ Members are assigned ranks (F to S) and issued magitech identification cards to record their identity and mission history.

The Phantom Lily

✧ A secretive criminal network with deep roots in the underworld.
✧ They operate in the shadows, using legitimate businesses (tea houses, shipping companies) as fronts for their illicit activities.
✧ True to their name, they leave a single White Lily at the scene of completed operations.
