Doomsday prophets, evangelical preachers, and conspiracy theorists all have their own names for giants. In the scientific community they are named Homo Titanicus. The most informal name in common use for giants is Nephilim. Giants first began appearing as the result of ordinary pregnancies following the testing of the first atomic bomb. Giants are understood to have some connection to the splitting of the atom. As atomic testing proliferated, more difficult pregnancies worldwide lead to more enormous babies being born that would grow to become giants. Giants are similar to humans in almost all respects except for their size, strength, and endurance. Giants range between 10-20 feet in height.

Giants range between 10-20 feet in height. Younger giants - those from a time of more atomic testing, nuclear power plants and similar - tend to be taller. The average human ordinarily stands between just over knee-height to a giant, to standing at eye-level with a giant's waist. Giants are extremely well-endowed in all respects, with both primary and secondary sexual characteristics proportionately very large even for their huge figures, beyond common human averages.

Giants are viewed with caution by most humans. Their size gives them immense strength, and they consume vast resources when compared to an ordinary human; many fear their environmental effects. Giants tend to be patient, slow to anger, and ordinarily very kind in their search for community and belonging, and some humans emulate these attitudes toward giants. Laws regarding hate speech and protected classes include giants in some parts of the world.

Recent developments in engineering and marketing have lead to giant-friendly furniture and homes being more widely available. Many giant homes resemble ordinary human dwellings, though obviously much larger. Two-storey homes are rare. Some giants continue to live in converted barns, warehouses or hangars, depending on their size and means. Furniture and homewares are increasingly available to giants, making them able to live their lives in comparable ease and comfort to humans.

Remembering the scale of most giants' sexual charactistics, sex between humans and giants is still eminently possible. Pregnancies from human-giant couples are not uncommon, though the child tends to be human. Between giant couples, their child will invariably be a giant as well. Giants respond to and enjoy the whole range of human sensation, meaning sex is often simpler than one might think. Uniquely, giants have a strong mating urge during the spring, and often flirt more and are more receptive to advances over these months.
