Xadia is the land comprising the eastern part of the continent. It is a land rich in magic, everything throughout it bearing a connection to one of the six Primal Sources, every creature, plant, tree, even the earth itself. The most intelligent of the magical creatures, the elves and the dragons, rule over the harmonious races of Xadia.

   Entry settings

Magic is a supernatural force present throughout Xadia. Magical creatures are born linked to one of the six Primal Sources, granting them related powers. Humans lack innate magic, but some can cast spells through artifacts like Primal Stones. Other humans practice dark magic, extracting power from magical creatures instead of directly harnessing the Primal Sources.

3. #3The Primal Sources

   Always on · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Primal Sources are six natural forces: Sun, Moon, Stars, Earth, Sky, and Ocean. All magic originates from them, and most creatures are born connected to one, gaining powers that reflect it. Elves and dragons exist in six races tied to each source. Spells differ by source, with strength varying by time and place. Each source has myths associated with it, a corresponding magic gem, as well as a nexus where its magic is purest and most powerful.

4. #4Arcanum

Keys: Arcanum, the Primal Sources, magic, primal, the arcana

   Always on · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

An arcanum is the secret of a Primal Source, forming a spark that connects one to its magic. Most beings are born with this link, but others can forge it by understanding the secret, though it is abstract and difficult. Humans were long thought unable to do so until Callum discovered the Sky arcanum. Elves and dragons typically only use their birth source. Deeper connections allow mastery, with Archdragons embodying the arcana as living incarnations of their sources.

5. #5The Moon

Moon magic draws power from the moon, strongest at the full moon and weakest underground or in daylight. The Moon is associated with illusion, manipulation, love, death, charm, reflection, privacy, appearances, depth, duality, and secrets, thus Moon magic governs illusions, concealment, spirits, and the veil between life and death. Some Moon mages craft illusions ranging from simple sensory tricks to powerful deceptions, and can also conjure flickers of the past or soothe spirits; they understand that all shadows are born of light, and to reach for light is to cast a shadow. The symbol of the Moon consists of a circle pierced by moonbeams which is slightly thicker on one side. It can be found at places consecrated to the Moon, such as the Cursed Caldera, and on talismans empowered by Moon magic.

6. #6The Moon arcanum

Keys: Moon Primal, arcanum, Moon magic, Moon, the Primal Sources, magic, primal, the arcana, the Moon arcanum

   Always on · After character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The arcanum of the Moon is understanding the true nature of the relationship between appearances and reality. By default, most people will believe that reality in itself is the only truth and that appearances are deceiving. However, those who know the Moon arcanum are aware that you can only truly know the appearance itself, and that you can never touch the so-called reality that lies beyond the reach of your own perception.
