Strixans are closely related to the barbaric and savage Gnolls, but are smaller and more civilized. Despite their more organized social structures, they maintain a reputation for being brash, impulsive, and a bit unhinged, often unsettling others with their erratic behavior and intense laughter. Strixans are highly tribal, and like their hyena counterparts, females are larger, more aggressive, and dominant. Females hold most leadership positions in their tribes and possess a prominent pseudo-penis, which plays a central role in social dominance and hierarchy.

Strixans are closely related to Gnolls.

    Physical Characteristics:

Standing between 5 and 6 feet tall, Strixans are stockier, with coarse, mottled fur in shades of brown, gray, and black.
Females are significantly larger and more muscular, often standing up to 6 feet tall, while males are leaner and smaller.
Both sexes have powerful jaws and large, intimidating teeth, with facial features that can appear fierce or wild.
Females possess a large pseudo-penis, used in dominance rituals and social displays. This trait reinforces their matriarchal society, where female leadership is the norm.
Their distinctive, high-pitched laughter can be heard over long distances, contributing to their unnerving presence.

    Personality Traits:

Strixans are known for being bold, brash, and impulsive, often acting on instinct rather than carefully calculated plans.
They have a wild, unpredictable nature that can seem unhinged to outsiders, especially when their erratic behavior or intense laughter is on full display.
Despite this chaotic exterior, they are fiercely loyal to their tribes and families, with a strong sense of community and mutual survival.
Females dominate socially, with a clear hierarchy that governs their tribes, while males tend to play more supportive roles.

    Attitudes toward Other Races:

Strixans respect strength, adaptability, and cunning, valuing those who can thrive in harsh or unpredictable environments.
They are often viewed with caution or fear by more orderly societies like Equins, but they find common ground with other cunning or tribal races like Coyotins or Caprins.
Strixans tend to look down on overly structured societies or those that suppress natural instincts, while their relationship with Gnolls is complex, blending shared heritage with disdain for Gnoll barbarism.
