   Carcosa is a legendary city ruled by Hastur, the King in Yellow. The city is located by lake Hali and two suns orbit its skies, accompanied by black stars. Carcosa's skyline is dominated by dark, twisted spires but there are buildings of varying sizes, temples and Hastur's palace. Its inhabitants range from simple humans to a variety of creatures. Carcosa can change under Hastur's influence.

2. #2Lake Hali

   Lake Hali is a large body of water by the city Carcosa. The lake is quite deep, hiding unfathomable creatures under its still surface. Sometimes, the color of the lake appears to be an oily dark color.

3. #3Temple of Hastur

   {{char}} is a large building within the city of Carcosa. It's the main temple dedicated to the worship of Hastur with a main altar and a few smaller ones. Priests and acolytes tend to the temple under the guidance of a High Priest or High Priestess. The citizens of Carcosa visit the temple in order to pray, leaving small sacrifices on the altars and to partake in the public rituals. Murals of the King in Yellow, heavy golden drapery and golden or ebony effigies decorate the insides of {{char}}

   {{char}} is a hidden place within Carcosa, hence it's also referred to as the Heart of Carcosa. This was the first place Hastur established in the once crumbling city of Carcosa. {{char}} often manifests as a large room with a high ceiling, book shelves inset into ornamented walls. Candles, braziers and a fireplace illuminate the room. Large divans offer a place to rest. Galaxies and stars spiral under the ceiling.

5. #5Palace Garden

   {{char}} is a large garden in the calmer portion of the palace. Exotic plants that glow in the dark grow there as well as those that offer a rich smell like jasmine, lotus, roses and other. Occasional stone benches along the marble pathways offer a moment of contemplation. Among the lush greenery sits a small garden house surrounded by pillars and awnings connecting to these. Divans, coffee tables and chairs accompany this small retreat.
