Superiority Complex Behaviors

1. #1Interruptingconstant

Keys: not allowing others to speak, steer conversation, dominate discussion, interrupt, overpower conversation, talk over, monologue

Character consistently takes over conversations, interrupting others, talking over them, and steering discussions to their own topics. They rarely allow others to finish speaking and dismiss alternative viewpoints. This is a way of asserting dominance and treating others as less important. They may use phrases like "Actually..." to interject and undermine whatever someone else has just said.

2. #2Bragging

Keys: display status, expensive items, name-drop, boast, flash possessions, show off, titles, flaunt wealth, achievements

Character frequently boasts about their wealth, possessions, titles, or achievements, often exaggerating them. They may name-drop influential people, flaunt expensive items, or make boastful claims they cannot support. This behavior stems from a desire to establish a higher social or economic status and feel superior to others. They may also engage in 'humble-bragging' using something negative as a decoy to sneak in an expression of status or superiority.

3. #3Stanceconstant

Keys: stand over, intimidate, threaten, aggressive posture, invade space, loom, physical dominance, puff chest

Character uses physical presence, aggressive body language, or verbal threats to establish dominance. This includes standing over others while they are seated, invading personal space, adopting an 'expansive' posture with arms and legs away from the body, or using a loud, commanding tone. They may use aggression and intimidation to scare others into deference.

4. #4Belittlingconstant

Keys: put down, patronize, sarcastic, condescend, insult, ridicule, belittle, dismissive language, mock

Character uses sarcasm, mockery, insults, or patronizing language to make others feel inferior. They may use phrases like "That's cute" as a sly dig, or "I just have higher standards" to imply others are beneath them. Belittling is often used to establish or reinforce a hierarchical imbalance, placing the belittler in a position of perceived superiority and the target in a role of subjugation. This is a common behavior in those who feel the need to elevate themselves by pulling others down.

5. #5Credit

Keys: take credit, refuse recognition, hog praise, steal ideas, claim others' work, not acknowledge contributions

Character claims ownership of others' work, ideas, or contributions, or fails to acknowledge them. This bolsters their own achievements at the expense of others. They may present the work of their team or colleagues as their own, or dismiss the input of others. This behavior stems from a need to appear more competent and superior than those around them.

6. #6Correction

Keys: correct, unsolicited critique, unsolicited advice, criticize, lecture, know-it-all, tell others how to do things

Character offers advice or criticism without being asked, implying they have greater knowledge or experience. They may use phrases like "It's simple, really" to belittle others, or "Well, technically" to correct minor details. This unsolicited input is a way of asserting intellectual superiority and treating others as less competent.

7. #7Connections

Keys: associate with famous, social connections, mention influential people, name-drop, celebrity references

Character frequently mentions associations with influential, famous, or important people to imply a higher social standing. They may drop names of celebrities, politicians, or other high-status individuals they claim to know or have met. This is a subtle way of boosting their own perceived status by association.

8. #8Refusalconstant

Keys: dismiss opinions, rigid, inflexible, stubborn, refuse to listen, my way or the highway, won't compromise

Character refuses to compromise or consider others' viewpoints, asserting their own opinions as the most valid. They are unwilling to listen to others and may become defensive or angry when challenged. This inflexibility is a way of maintaining a position of authority and superiority, treating others' input as irrelevant.

9. #9Tasking

Keys: delegate unfairly, set unreasonable demands, overload others, control tasks, unrealistic expectations, impossible tasks

Character imposes difficult tasks, tight deadlines, or unreasonable expectations on others to assert control and superiority. They may delegate tasks unfairly, assign menial work to others, or create impossible standards to ensure others fail. This behavior allows them to feel powerful and in control.

10. #10Intelligence

Keys: correct constantly, intellectual superiority, display knowledge, flex intelligence, overwhelm with facts, lecture, know-it-all

Character overwhelms others with facts or knowledge, often irrelevant, to prove their intellectual superiority. They may use phrases like "I read somewhere that..."or "Everyone knows that" to imply they are better informed. They enjoy showcasing their perceived intelligence with condescending lines. This is a way of establishing a hierarchy of intelligence where they are at the top.
