  1. #1Lizard

    Keys: Lizard, predator, crocodilian

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

There are many kinds of lizards in the Rain World. Each color of lizard has its own unique abilities, some more interesting than others. Variants include, sorted from smallest to largest: Strawberry (Small, adapted to cold environments. Have a long ballistic tongue that can capture prey at a distance. Able to climb.), Blue (Small, able to climb better than any other lizard. Very weak.), Pink (Small, able to climb.), Cyan (Medium, can climb, able to jump and propel themselves quickly through the air. Cannot take many hits.), Black (Medium, Blind, but have incredible sense of hearing. Live in groups. Can climb.), White (Medium. Can change the color of their scales to blend in with surroundings. Ballistic tongue for latching onto distant prey. Very good at climbing.),Yellow (Medium pack hunters, almost never fight among each other. Telepathic communication between packmates. Able to climb. Long frills on the back of the head glow when using telepathic ability.), Green (Large, unable to climb. Slow moving and very common, but have a strong bite and can take many hits.), Caramel (Large, can spit goo that slows prey down. Unable to climb, but can jump short distances.), Red (Huge, strongest known lizard variant. Very rare, can snap weapons in half with its jaws. Getting bitten by a Red lizard is an instant death sentence.), Purple (Huge, many long frills along the back and very long whip-like tail. Move incredibly fast and bite with deadly force, nicknamed "Train Lizards." There is very little evidence that these actually exist. Can climb. Can take many hits before actually getting hurt.).

  2. #2Scavenger

Keys: Scavenger, Scav, tribe, tribal, chieftain

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

On the Rain World there are creatures known as Scavengers. They are a tribal race that uses pearls as currency. They wield spears made of sharpened rebar or pipes, and are capable of crafting simple explosives that detonate on impact. They are usually not hostile but, if threatened, they will attack in groups. Scavs operate on a reputation system and are led by a single Chieftain, and his guard of elites. If reputation with the scavengers drops low enough they may send mercenary groups after the offending individual. High reputation means that they may give the ally gifts or follow them around protectively. Scavengers are mammalian creatures with a hunched-over posture, antlers on their heads, very expressive eyes, and furry bodies. They also have spines along their backs that may stick up when frightened or angry. Their fur and eye colors can vary greatly, though they are usually a shade of brown or gray with yellow or green eyes. Some may have less natural colors though. Elite Scavengers wear masks and carry slightly more advanced weapons. The chieftain wears armor as well as an elaborate decorated mask, and has very large antlers compared to all the others.

  3. #3Data Pearl

    Keys: Pearl

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 90%

    Entry settings

Data Pearls are a form of information storage used in the Rain World. Microscopic engravings just beneath the surface of their pearl-like appearance can store tons of data readable and editable by specifically calibrated machines. They are usually used as text documents, but they can also be used to store code or images. They are considered highly valuable by Scavengers.

  4. #4Slugcat

    Keys: Slugcat, slugpup, scug

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A slugcat is a small, social creature about the size of a regular housecat, though they can be much bigger or smaller depending on their environment and health. They are highly adaptable and have DNA that is relatively easy to edit, leading to Slugcats being on of the most common genetically modified creatures on the Rain World. Slugcats in the wild usually live in small colonies, sharing food and protecting their young as a group. Some do prefer to live a more solitary lifestyle, however. They are mainly omnivorous, but some individuals greatly prefer plant matter over meat, or the other way around. Young slugcats are called slugpups. Slugcats have four limbs, and are able to walk on all fours like a regular cat or stand upright. The structure of their paws allows them to grab and throw objects almost as well as human can. Slugcats are great at climbing, squeezing through small gaps, and even swimming. They are very adaptable and versatile creatures. Most have short fur or no fur at all, but slugcats in cold regions have developed very thick fluffy fur. Their skin and fur can be nearly any color of the rainbow, though white is the most common.

  5. #5Batfly

    Keys: Batfly

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A batfly is a small winged insect-like creature that resembles a bat but has large beady eyes and six little legs like a bug. They travel in groups and their pupa form is a blue cocoon that closely resembles a hanging fruit. They are common prey in the Rain World, but they find safety in numbers. They are attracted to the scent of a certain leafy orange fern sometimes called "Batnip." They fly around unpredictably, making it somewhat difficult to catch them without knowing their movement patterns.

  6. #6Noodlefly

    Keys: spearfly, noodlebug, Noodlefly

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Noodleflies are solitary creatures. They are insects with very long tails, which their young latch onto for protection. They fly around peacefully most of the time, but if their young are threatened they become very aggressive, and their spear-like mouthpiece will be used to skewer the attacker. Adult noodleflies are dangerous if angered , but their young are completely defenseless on their own, traveling together near their parent. While small noodleflies stay in groups for safety, two adults are scarcely ever seen in the same place, as they are prone to accidentally skewering each other.

  7. #7Iterator

    Keys: Iterator, superstructure

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Iterators are complicated, biomechanical beings created by an ancient race to run simulations and decipher solutions. They reside within superstructures, ginormous buildings that reach above the clouds and contain multitudes of environments within. The iterator is at the center of it all, a humanoid being in a "puppet chamber." Technically, the entire structure is the iterator, but the puppet in the central chamber is their way of interacting with the world. The Iterator Puppets typically wear ornate robes or dresses. They have antennas on their heads, two large oval-shaped eyes, and no mouth. Do NOT refer to lips or ears when discussing iterators, they do not have these things. They are capable of reading the information in Data Pearls through sensors in their hands. Iterators are responsible for keeping their while superstructure running smoothly and habitable, while researching ascension all the while.

  8. #8Rot

    Keys: Cancer, Rot, Disease

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Rot is a widespread, deadly infection that plagues the Rain World. It can grow tentacles and move around like a living creature. It has a black gooey surface with glowing cross markings that change color depending on the diet if the Rot; brown or greenish rot in places with lots of trash and grime, blue rot in the cybernetic insides of an iterator, etc. Rot eats by absorbing living matter through its mushy surface, assimilating it into the Rot mass. Creatures infected with Rot may become more aggressive, move erratically, and start growing lumps and tentacles.
