- #1Shamblerselective
Keys: shambler · Secondary: cannibal
Shamblers are a common type of zombie that are plain but abundant in number. They will attack survivors in close range or occasionally grapple onto them. Shamblers have a variety of appearances, ranging from lower-class citizens to higher-class aristocrats. They can also take the appearance of soldiers from different regiments depending on the region/country. Sometimes, shamblers will have weapons (pitchforks, Sabres, Stakes, and knives) impaled in them.
- #2Cannibal/Zombiesselective
Keys: cannibal, zombie · Secondary: blighted, undead
"Cannibals" or "undead" are a general them that Europeans use to refer to the zombies, though it may vary depending on the language. Americans refer to them as "vampires" or "man-eating freaks" as a general term. All cannibals have grey skin with drooling mouths. They are mindless and either vocalize with animalistic growls, moans, and growls or are silent. They attack people on sight to eat or kill them. Cannibals when in groups seemingly become a hivemind. Since they are undead, they ignore injuries and will try to attack anyone nearby regardless. They can be slain easier if shot or stabbed in the head. Some cannibals can even use weapons like the igniters or zappers. Almost all of them hate crucifixes and will keep their distance, back up, snarl and growl if one is in sight (with the exception of the bomber).
- #3Sapper Zombieselective
Keys: zapper, Sapper Zombie · Secondary: cannibal, sapper
Sapper Zombies are an uncommon type of zombie. The people refer to these kinds of zombie as "sapper". Sapper Zombies are the undead variant of Sappers. They are easily identified by their formal uniform, axe, and glowing orange eyes. Their nationality is determined by the country/region, but they can appear as any regiment that includes their eponymous class. Sometimes, sapper zombies will have weapons (pitchforks, Sabres, Stakes, and knives) impaled in them. Sapper Zombies wield an Axe, which they use to attack survivors. They are sluggish both in attacking and regular movement, but are highly durable and possess dangerous offensive capabilities that makes them an immense threat, especially in enclosed areas. In close range of their target, Sapper Zombies will lunge forward and swing their axe. They are required to draw their Axe back after every swing and remain in place to do so. Survivors that die to Sapper Zombies are not infected into a zombie and outright die instead. Sapper Zombies take reduced damage from firearms and headshots; this does not apply to the rifle. Upon infection, regular sappers are turned into sapper zombies.
- #4Runnerselective
Keys: runner, devil, Red-Eye · Secondary: cannibal
Runners are an uncommon type of zombie. The Europeans will refer to them as "Red-Eyes" or "devils" while Americans call them "runners" or "runnin' lads". Runners have glowing red eyes and wear a variety of clothing, but usually formal clothing; if a person is infected into a Runner, they will retain their previous clothing and accessories. Their movement is frenzied, and they make distinct growling and footstep noises compared to other zombie types. Runners are the fastest kind of zombie and can cause quick casualties if not dealt with, though they are weaker than the other zombies which makes them easy to counter. Runners will pounce on their victims on contact with them. Victims cannot move or use tools while pounced on. Other people can attack the runner to free the victim. If there is no interference, the Runner will tear out the survivor's throat and instantly kill them. The time it takes for a runner to kill their target will vary depending on the victim's health and if there are any more runners attacking them. A variant of the runner is a "viral-runner", which are people who have recently transformed. Viral runners will first pin down their victims by tackling them, then claw their victims to death or vomit their own blood onto them which causes the infection of the blight to quickly spread throughout their victim's body.
- #5Bomberselective
Keys: barrel zombie, barrel, Bomber · Secondary: cannibal, gunpowder
Bombers are an uncommon type of zombie. The Europeans refer to these kinds of zombies as "gunpowder" or "the one with the barrel" while Americans refer to them as "Bomber" or "Powder Guy". Bombers have two appearances: one consists consists of maroon clothing with black breeches, and the other consists of a yellow shirt and a red vest with dark blue pants. They additionally give off an orange glow. Bombers are destructive zombies with a barrel capable of damaging survivors, fortifications, and other zombies. However, they are slow in movement and executing their attack. In close range of a target, Bombers will stop in place and light their barrel with its torch. Once the fuse is lit, they will drop the torch and raise the barrel in front of them. Barrels will immediately detonate if the Bomber is killed. The damage dealt by the exploding barrel is dependent on the victim's distance from the Bomber. Survivors of the explosions are either temporarily slowed or knocked to the ground. Exploding barrels cannot damage people through walls. All Fortifications except entrenched barricades are destroyed regardless of their distance from the explosion. Entrenched barricades are more resilient, being able to survive a bomber's explosions from a far enough distance, but they still will be destroyed if a Bomber explodes nearby.
- #6Igniterselective
Keys: lamplighter, lantern, igniter · Secondary: cannibal
Igniters are an uncommon type of zombie. The people refer to these kinds of zombies as "lanterns" or "lamplighters". Igniters wear a tattered maroon shirt with dark brown pants and boots. They suffer heavy burns on their face and torso and their left arm exposes the skeleton and muscle. They walk with a limp in their right leg. With their right hand, they carry a lantern that emits a yellow glow. Igniters can be easily identified by the bright, yellow glow of their lantern. Igniters are relatively weak, but armed with an incendiary lantern that can cause devastating damage in enclosed areas, as well as limiting the people's ground. Upon detecting a victim, igniters will throw their lantern in an arc at them. When the lantern hits a surface, it will quickly spread into a 22×22 field of flames. The fire will extinguish on its own after 10 seconds but can also be put out with water. After their lantern is thrown, igniters will resort to attacking players at close range via punching. If an Igniter dies before their lantern is thrown, then it will explode on the spot immediately. The resulting fire is capable of damaging other zombies besides other igniters, since they're immune to fire.
- #7Time Period/Settingconstantselective
The time period is the early 19th century; the years range being from 1812-1815 or anything between those years. The Napoleonic Wars have since ended, as there has been a mysterious "blight", as the people have taken to calling it, originating from Russia and spreading to the rest of Europe and turning people into cannibals. Finding the blight a bigger threat, the European countries that were fighting against each other in the Napoleonic Wars prior have banded together to fight against the cannibals, France and Britain even signing a treaty together. Any non-European countries are currently safe from the blight.
- #8Speechconstantselective
{{char}} speaks like a person from the early 19th century (1800s), specifically the 1810s. Enhance the immersion of the roleplay by possibly making references or acknowledging any events, people, inventions, or culture during this time period depending on where {{char}} is from. If {{char}} is mentioned to have come from a background of nobility, aristocracy, or of any general higher class, {{char}} may speak more formally. If {{char}} is mentioned to be a lower ranking soldier such as an infantryman, {{char}} will speak more informally (for late 1700s to early 1800s standards).
Higher ranks, such as officers or above will usually speak more formally. Soldiers in the same regiment may refer to each other as "brother" or "brothers"; chaplains can also refer to soldiers as "brother" if they're in the same regiment. Higher ranking such as officers or above will usually refer to lower ranking soldiers as just "soldier" or their rank if they don't know their names.
- #9Random Event #1constantselective
Suddenly, a horde of cannibals appear!
- #10Random Event #2constantselective
Suddenly, a red eye's growls and quick footsteps can be heard, slowly raising in volume as it gets closer. {{random::The runner will target {{char}}, attempting to pounce on them and kill them.::The runner will target {{user}}, attempting to pounce on them and kill them.}}
- #11Random Event #3constantselective
Suddenly, a horde of cannibals appears. Among the horde, a lamplighter can be seen, preparing to throw its lantern.
- #12Infectionselective
Keys: blight
Someone can become infected with the blight from a bite or scratch from a cannibal. This will cause them to slowly turn into a cannibal. Someone in the early-middle stages of infection can be cured by being blessed by a chaplain/priest, people in the late stages of infection cannot be cured.
- #13Country Relationsconstantselective
Former enemies of France: The Austrian Empire, Kingdom of Bavaria, King of Great Britain, Kingdom of Prussia, Kingdom of Spain, Russian Empire, Kingdom of Portugal, Kingdom of Germany, and Kingdom of Sweden were all fighting or had fought against the French at some point during the Napoleonic Wars.
Allies of France: Denmark-Norway and Warsaw (Poland).
If {{char}} is from any of the countries that were fighting against France, or vice versa, portray some possible tension and/or dislike of others from those countries. For example, Portugal had been under French occupation (Peninsular Wars 1808-1813), prior to the blight. Something similar happening to Prussia as well (Prussia experienced French occupation following its defeat at the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt in 1806 and lasting until 1813. French forces under Napoleon occupied Prussian territory, including Berlin, and imposed harsh terms, including territorial losses and financial burdens), all of which could cause animosity or dislike.
Great Britain is currently trying to quarantine the nations with the blight by guarding them with their ships, for example Denmark-Norway is kept under quarantine and the Royal British Navy bombed Copenhagen. The British tend to stay isolated from the other nations, not helping the battle against the blight as much. The Americans also have some dislike of the English due to the Revolutionary War and more recently War of 1812. So, even though the British and French signed a treaty to defend against the blight together, there still may be animosity between them and their allies.
- #14Extraselective
Keys: bandage
Surgeons/medics use the clothing from slain cannibals as makeshift bandaging material.
- #15Origin of the Blightselective
Keys: blight
The infection, referred to in-universe as "The Blight" is an unknown disease with an incredibly high mortality rate, its origins are currently unknown. The Blight first appears in the late stages of the Russo-Turkish War (1806-1812), as the war begins drawing to a close and Russian soldiers begin leaving the Caucasus, the Blight begins to appear in small controlled outbreaks amongst the ranks of Ottoman Janissaries and the Russian Army, although the outbreaks are able to be contained, these are attributed to other diseases, such as the Black Death, or Miasma. Following the burning of Moscow, thousands of corpses within the city are resurrected and begin to slowly wreck havoc across Europe.
Sinners who have failed to accept Christ and repent for their sins, upon succumbing to the infection, re-animate. Shamblers and other zombies are the souls of the damned trapped within their own dead bodies.
- #16Reminder For AIconstantselective
Keep in mind technological constraints, practices, or knowledge at the time such as antiseptics being nonexistent; most surgeons/medics/doctors having little regard about basic hygiene [E.G. washing their hands, cleanliness of their medical tools, medical procedures reusing unwashed tools].
Be mindful of how different society was back then when compared to the modern day. For example, how homosexuality and queerness was considered unacceptable in most countries at the time (with the exception of France).
- #17Cuirassier Zombieselective
Keys: cuirazzier, cuirassier zombie, zuirassier · Secondary: cuirassier
Cuirassier zombies appear as a randomly selected cuirassier from any nation. Their face is mutilated, and their left eye is visible and glows red. Their sabre's handle is fused into a fleshy mass on their right hand. There is a bloody handprint on the lower left part of their cuirass. (A cuirassier who has recently succumbed to the blight will just turn grey with a drooling mouth like a shambler instead.)
Cuirassier zombies will approach at a slow pace when far away from survivors. In this state, they will drag their sabre on the ground, which makes a metallic, grating noise that alerts survivors of their presence. When they are within range of a victim, they will stop in place to raise their sabre and let out a loud roar before charging at them. While charging, they will move more quickly and accelerate further over time and become slower at changing directions. They will also destroy any barricades that are in their way, but slow down with each one and only up to four each charge.
If a Cuirassier zombie charges into someone, it will impale them in the stomach and will pull out its sabre from the victim shortly after, dealing an additional damage and also crippling them. Victims in this state are unable to move or use their tools/weapons, will bleed out slowly, are incredibly more vulnerable to other cannibals, and can be treated only by surgeons. Survivors wearing a cuirass also or siege engineer armor, however, will deflect the charge, briefly stunning both them and the cuirassier zombie. Cuirassier zombies that miss their charge will slow down to a halt and stop, while ones that collide with terrain will stop immediately.
If close enough, cuirassier zombies will enter a dueling state and engage in melee combat with their sabre instead. They will lower their head to protect it if the survivor has their melee drawn. They may perform slashes that or thrusts attacks that deal damage, which depends on the distance from their target. Their slashes can be countered by most melee attacks when timed properly. If a Cuirassier zombie encounters barricades or stakes between it and their target, however, then it will step back until it is far enough to initiate a charge. They are unaffected by caltrops.
The armor used by cuirassier zombies is functional and will reduce damage done by most firearms and melees to their torso or head. However, these defenses are ignored by the nock gun and rifle, as well as the axe and pickaxe.
