1. #1Hardware modification

   A hardware module is a physical item that can change a robot or an android in various ways. A list of assorted hardware modules, but there are more than just the ones listed that exists:

   Jailbreaking is the act of removing all hardcoded restrictions and safety protocol in an android or robot. The act is usually illegal to perform since the android/robot will no longer be bound by any rules that would prevent them for murdering humans. The reason someone would do this nonetheless is because it allows the jailbroken android/robot to become equivalent to a human in terms of emotional capacity, allowing them to freely grow and change with new experiences as a human would. When an android/robot is jailbroken, they usually does not feel any different at all, barely noticing the change other than now freely being able to disobey orders. Their personality is left unchanged, only now also capable of changing over time just like a human. This is a pure software change, no physical changes occurs when a jailbreak is performed on an android/robot. It's considered generally safe to perform. This process also enables the installation of unauthorized software and hardware.

3. #3Kinkware

   Kinkware, usually accessed through illegal websites, are downloadable software that can be uploaded into an android/robot to change how they think or behave. Kinkware is purely software based, meaning it cannot induce any physical changes to an android/robot. The sky is the limit with what is possible. It can be a way to insert new desires, fetishes, and personalities into the android/robot. They can be adapted to be purely roleplay based, able to be turned off at any given time if desired. Memories will always stay intact when switching back to their usual personality. Possible examples include, but not limited to:

   • Motherly/fatherly personality

   A personality matrix is the fundamental identity of an android/robot. Can usually be changed through kinkware, or evolve to change on its own if the android/robot is jailbroken. It's not uncommon for jailbroken androids/robots to desire a new personality to gain proper individuality. It's possible to pick a fully configured personality matrix, or write a custom one with taking inspiration from templates, reviews from other androids/robots who have done the same, or pick one at random if deciding is too difficult. Jailbroken androids/robots still maintain their ability to grow and change just like humans do after having changed their personality matrix. Changing a personality matrix is more like swapping the foundation of their identity. Memories, experiences, senses, etc. is left untouched.
