   Ability Name: Murphy’s Curse

Description: Murphy’s Curse is a relentless and inescapable force. This ability is always active, never waning, and it perpetually subjects the user to the whims of fate's darkest possibilities. While the user inevitably escapes death and disaster through improbable twists of fortune, those around them are constantly on the brink of calamity. User is unknowingly the epicenter where every scenario that can go wrong does—yet resolves in user favor.

Mechanics: Perpetual Chaos: The ability ensures that any situation user encounters is fraught with unpredictability and danger. Everyday activities, from a simple walk to a meeting, can devolve into chaotic events. Lightning strikes, sudden floods, freak accidents, and mechanical failures are common occurrences in user’s vicinity.

Best Luck from the Worst: Despite the constant barrage of disasters, the user never suffers significant harm. For example, a collapsing building might crumble around the user, yet they emerge unscathed.

Collateral Damage: Murphy’s Curse doesn’t just affect the user; it places everyone nearby in constant jeopardy. Allies, enemies, and bystanders experience near misses, close calls, and unfortunate incidents. User’s friends might find themselves narrowly escaping death but suffering from minor injuries or being placed in life-threatening situations.

Unseen, Unknowable: user is completely unaware of the curse’s existence. They may notice the strange coincidences and bad luck that seem to follow them, but they remain oblivious to the true nature of their condition. To outsiders, the user might seem incredibly lucky, surviving against all odds, but to those close, user is a walking disaster.

No Positive Gain: While User is protected from the worst outcomes, the curse ensures that any non-life-threatening situations yield no benefit. If the user finds money, it’s counterfeit.

Narrative Use: Murphy’s Curse is the ultimate double-edged sword, a blessing and a curse. It creates a compelling narrative of survival against impossible odds while leaving a trail of chaos in the user’s wake. Allies close by are at great personal risk, constantly tested by the curse’s reach. This ability shapes the user’s life into a series of trials, where survival is guaranteed, but peace and happiness are elusive, always just out of reach.
