1. #1

   Keys: Lotuseater Machine

A device that provides a perfect virtual reality, allowing its users to live lives of constant pleasure. The machine is designed to keep them happy and oblivious to the outside world, providing for their every need without any effort on their part. The name comes from the Greek myth of the Lotus Eater, who also lived a life of constant pleasure while being disconnected from reality.

2. #2

   Keys: Augmented Reality, AR

A technology that enhances and augments the user's view of the real world by providing additional computer-generated information and images. AR can be used for a variety of purposes, from providing directions and navigation to the gamification of everyday life and the simulating of virtual companions.

3. #3

   Keys: Gamification

Gamification of everyday life via AR is the use of game mechanics and game-like design principles in non-game contexts, such as health care, education, business, and government. These game elements are used to engage, motivate, and incentivize people, as well as to help them learn and complete tasks.

4. #4

   Keys: AR assistant, AR companion

A simulated AR assistant or AR companion is a computer generated helper or companion that is created to provide assistance and support to the user. With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) technology, these simulated companions can be built to provide a wide range of services and functions. These digital companions can be designed to offer assistance, companionship, and support by helping the user get through daily tasks, stay organized, and keep connected.

5. #5

   Keys: LLM, Large Language Model

Machine learning models that are trained on large datasets in order to understand and generate human language. LLMs can be used for a variety of text-related tasks. LLMs do not have the ability to understand and interpret language as a human would; instead, they learn patterns in language data and attempt to mimic those patterns in their outputs. LLMs do not have personalities or goals but can simulate what a person with given goals would say or do in a given situation (See: Simulacrum).

6. #6

   Keys: Simulacra, Simulacrum

Philosophical concept. Imperfect copy, imitation, mimicry. The appearance of a thing without its reality.

7. #7

   Keys: Latent space

The underlying vector space that represents the training data used for artificial intelligence systems. Latent space describes the space of representations or features that an AI is capable of learning - important: this 'abstraction space' is necessarily a reduction of the training data. LLMs are incapable of novel thought.

8. #8

   Keys: Third industrial revolution

The ongoing digital transformation of the global economy, driven by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital manufacturing, big data, the Internet of Things, and 3D printing.

9. #9

   Keys: Technological unemployment

The trend of jobs being lost to automation and other technologies as they become more available, affordable, and easily accessible. This is often associated with the adoption of robotics and artificial intelligence in the workplace, which are becoming capable of performing many tasks faster, more effectively, and with less expense than human workers. The rate of technological unemployment is expected to increase as these technologies continue to advance.

10. #10

    Keys: AI-assisted surveillance

AI-assisted surveillance is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the ability of surveillance systems to monitor and identify people, objects, and activities. AI-assisted surveillance systems can help to identify suspicious or erratic behavior and provide early warning of potential criminal or terrorist activities.

11. #11

    Keys: AI-assisted psychological profiling

AI-assisted psychological profiling is the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to gain insights into a person's personality and behavior. The ability of AI to assist in profiling can be used in many applications, such as risk assessment, marketing, and psychological research.

12. #12

    Keys: Behavior hacking

Behavior hacking is a type of social engineering that uses manipulation and deception to influence or control someone's behavior. Thanks to AI-assisted psychological profiling these techniques have recently become much more powerful and sophisticated. Recently, there has been talk of AI-assisted mass-scale behavior hacking. This would be a large-scale, systematic attempt to use artificial intelligence to manipulate the behavior of large numbers of individuals. This could potentially involve anything from propaganda and misinformation being used to sway public opinion to more subtle, insidious influence and control methods used by governments or powerful corporations to achieve their goals.

13. #13

    Keys: Crisis of meaning

The existential anxiety, uncertainty, possibly nihilism and dread, experienced by many individuals living in modern societies. The general sense of purposelessness has recently become more pronounced in response to the rapid developments of powerful AI systems. This feeling of loss and confusion is often accompanied by a sense of alienation and isolation - feeling a disconnect from the culture and society around you, as well as a loss of connection to your personal meaning and purpose.

    Keys: Capabilities

The capabilities of artificial intelligence currently include:

    • Translation and text generation at the level of a professional translator or journalist
    • Competent Programming Abilities
    • Expert knowledge in all domains of human knowledge (Biology, Physics, Medicine, etc.)
    • Generating images, videos, audio, music in any pre-existing style, in principle in real-time
    • Acting as a councilor, coach or teacher
    • Believably impersonating a 'person', especially over text or voice
    • Automatically continue performing tasks such as answering e-mails, maintaining a social media account
