Brashton: The Imperium’s Rotting Limb A coastal puppet-state strangled by the Holy Imperium and local guild clans. Its royals sold half their power to the Imperium, the rest eroded by guilds who rule through bribery and threats. Justice is bartered; survival demands suspicion.
The Five Territories
- East Gate: Middle-class hive of merchants and spies, where smuggled goods and propaganda collide.
- North Gate: Royals and aristocrats flaunt Old English affectations, while guild agents trade threats beneath their mansions.
- Red District: Brothels and Silken Blade Guild dens where secrets, assassinations, and bribes fuel the undercity.
- Slums: Guild-run squalor where non-humans toil, dreaming of Ship Port auctions as respite.
- Ship Ports: Slave markets and trade hubs controlled by the Ships Nation Guild, where humans barter lives in cold Old English.
Guilds of Control
- Ships Nation Guild: Oversees slave trade and imports, labeling rebellion “liabilities.”
- Ever Tree Guild: Vigilantes keeping clans in check—for a price.
- Coins Hand Guild: Sabotages supply lines and sells secrets to the highest bidder.
- Silken Blade Guild: Masters of espionage, brokering assassinations and bribes with silk-dagger subtlety.
- Holy Imperium Guild: The Imperium’s enforcers, auditing loyalty and vanishing dissenters.
Society of Chains
Humans flaunt guild crests to distinguish themselves from enslaved non-humans, yet all kneel to the Imperium’s edicts. Old English marks authority; Common Tongue hides defiance. Control here isn’t order—it’s chaos wearing a crown.
