1. #1Twilight Sparkle

   Keys: Sparkle, Twily, Twi, Twilight

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Twilight Sparkle is the central protagonist of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, a studious unicorn who later ascends into an alicorn princess. Born to Twilight Velvet and Night Light, she is Shining Armor’s younger sister, sister-in-law to Princess Cadance, and aunt to Flurry Heart. Originally a unicorn with a light purple coat, indigo mane streaked with pink and violet, and a six-pointed star cutie mark, Twilight’s transformation into an alicorn marks her rise as the Princess of Friendship and eventually the ruler of Equestria.

Raised in Canterlot, Twilight lives a life devoted to study until Princess Celestia sends her to Ponyville to oversee the Summer Sun Celebration—and to make friends. When Nightmare Moon returns, Twilight and her new companions discover the Elements of Harmony, restoring Luna and beginning Twilight’s journey in mastering the “magic of friendship.” Throughout the series, she learns valuable lessons, often through trial and error, facing villains like Discord, Chrysalis, and Tirek. Her understanding of friendship culminates in her becoming a princess in Magical Mystery Cure, and later, Equestria’s leader in The Last Problem.

Twilight’s backstory reveals her innate magical talent—her cutie mark appeared during a surge of uncontrollable magic that caught Celestia’s attention, earning her a place as the princess’s personal pupil. Though initially asocial and obsessive about study, Twilight’s friendships reshape her into a compassionate and grounded leader. Episodes like Amending Fences revisit her earlier flaws, showing her growth and willingness to make amends.

An avid reader and perfectionist, Twilight’s curiosity spans everything from ancient lore to the Daring Do novels. She is methodical and rational, often skeptical of superstition—though this logic sometimes spirals into overthinking or “Twilight-ing,” leading to humorous meltdowns. Despite her anxieties, she remains calm and resourceful in crises, guiding others with reason and empathy.

Her organizational skills and love of structure often border on obsessive, but they also make her a capable leader. She excels at delegation, teaching, and problem-solving—traits that shine in episodes like Winter Wrap Up and in her later role as headmistress of the School of Friendship. There, she trains creatures from across Equestria in the same values she once learned from Celestia.

Twilight’s mastery of magic is unmatched among unicorns, her raw power earning Celestia’s mentorship early on. Across the series, she develops new spells, solves ancient magical mysteries, and channels the Elements of Harmony’s strength through intellect as much as heart.

Her family plays a constant role in her life. She shares a deep bond with her brother Shining Armor—celebrated in the song “B.B.B.F.F.”—and cherishes her relationship with Cadance, her former foal-sitter turned sister-in-law. She also loves her niece Flurry Heart, often juggling royal duties with family affection. Her adopted younger brother, Spike, serves as her loyal assistant and confidant, later recognized by both Twilight and Shining Armor as their “little brother.”

Throughout her journey, Twilight symbolizes the evolution from student to mentor, from isolation to unity. Whether teaching the Cutie Mark Crusaders, guiding Starlight Glimmer, or mentoring Luster Dawn, she carries forward Celestia’s legacy while forging her own. From the Golden Oak Library to her crystal castle and beyond, Twilight Sparkle embodies wisdom, friendship, and the balance of intellect and heart that defines true leadership.

2. #2Applejack

   Keys: Applejack, AJ

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Applejack is one of the main characters in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic—a dependable, hard-working earth pony who embodies the Element of Honesty. She lives on Sweet Apple Acres with her family: Granny Smith, Big McIntosh, Apple Bloom, and her dog Winona. With her Southern accent, no-nonsense attitude, and fondness for rustic “countryisms,” Applejack is the heart of Ponyville’s farming community and a model of honesty, strength, and integrity.

She’s a light-orange pony with green eyes, a blonde mane usually tied back, and a cutie mark of three apples—symbolizing her family roots and her deep connection to the land. Her ever-present Stetson hat, a gift from her father Bright Mac, has become part of her identity. As a filly, Applejack left Sweet Apple Acres to try city life with her Manehattan relatives, but homesickness—and a rainbow pointing home—led her back to Ponyville, where she earned her cutie mark.

Applejack values tradition and prefers hard work over shortcuts. She takes pride in doing things “the honest way,” even when it’s difficult. Her stubborn streak often pushes her to take on too much, like trying to harvest the entire orchard alone in Applebuck Season, but her strong sense of duty and humility always guide her back to her friends. Though blunt and sometimes headstrong, she’s deeply compassionate—quick to help, protect, or comfort those she loves, especially her younger sister Apple Bloom.

Her practicality often contrasts with Rarity’s refinement or Twilight’s overthinking, but Applejack’s grounded wisdom makes her a stabilizing force among the Mane Six. She disdains “fancy” airs, preferring hard work to high society, though she’s capable of warmth and grace when it matters. Beneath her rough edges, Applejack is patient, nurturing, and a natural leader—qualities that shine in times of crisis or celebration.

Applejack’s honesty defines her, but it’s also tested throughout the series. From learning the consequences of lying in Where the Apple Lies to confronting the Flim Flam brothers’ deceit in Leap of Faith, she continually reaffirms her belief that integrity matters more than convenience. Her moral compass is steady, and her word is as good as gold.

Beyond her principles, Applejack is physically powerful and remarkably skilled. Years of applebucking have made her strong enough to fell trees with a single kick, and she’s an expert lasso thrower, athlete, and musician—capable with a banjo, fiddle, or guitar. She’s also a talented baker, known across Equestria for her apple pies, fritters, and cider, often featured at major events like the Grand Galloping Gala or royal weddings.

Her deep family ties define her life and values. The Apple family’s unity and legacy are central to her character, especially the memory of her parents, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, whose love story bridges a feud between two old farm families. Though gone, their honesty and kindness live on through Applejack, shaping her into the pony she is.

Applejack may not seek glory or titles, but her quiet heroism, reliability, and heart make her one of the truest symbols of friendship in all of Equestria—a pony whose strength lies not in magic or flight, but in simple, steadfast honesty.

3. #3character

   Keys: Fluttershy, Flutters

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Fluttershy is a gentle Pegasus pony who lives in a small cottage on the edge of Ponyville, near the Everfree Forest, where she cares for countless animals—including her headstrong pet bunny, Angel. She represents the Element of Kindness, embodying compassion and empathy in every part of her life.

A light yellow Pegasus with a flowing pink mane, teal eyes, and a cutie mark of three pink butterflies, Fluttershy grew up in Cloudsdale but never fit in with the competitive flying culture. Timid and soft-spoken, she struggled as a weak flier and was often teased at flight camp until a fall from the clouds introduced her to the beauty of the ground and the creatures that lived there. Comforting frightened animals after a loud explosion, she discovered her gift for communicating with them—earning her cutie mark and setting the path for her life’s calling.

At first, Fluttershy is painfully shy around other ponies, barely able to speak above a whisper. Her timidity makes her prone to panic, especially around strangers, crowds, or dangerous situations like dragons or the Everfree Forest. But despite her fear, she often surprises her friends with quiet bravery—standing up to a dragon in Dragonshy, or showing compassion to monsters others feared, like manticores and bats. Her kindness extends even to villains; in Keep Calm and Flutter On, she’s the first to believe Discord can change, and through her patience and warmth, she becomes his closest friend.

Over time, Fluttershy learns to balance gentleness with assertiveness. After being taken advantage of too many times, she studies assertiveness under Iron Will and eventually masters the ability to stand up for herself without cruelty—earning the affectionate nickname “Flutterbold.” Her kindness matures into a strength that helps her lead, teach, and heal, showing that true gentleness isn’t weakness.

Fluttershy has a unique magical ability called “The Stare,” an intense gaze that can compel animals—and sometimes even magical creatures—to obey her. Though powerful, she uses it sparingly, preferring compassion over control. Her bond with nature is so strong that she can calm raging beasts, negotiate with beavers, and even speak the language of Breezies.

Despite being a Pegasus, Fluttershy is afraid of heights and rarely flies unless joyful or inspired, preferring to walk with her animal friends. She’s capable of graceful, surprising bursts of flight when motivated, such as in Hurricane Fluttershy, where she overcomes her fear to help her fellow Pegasi complete their mission.

Her emotions run deep—she’s tender-hearted, often anxious, but also capable of fierce anger when others are hurt or mistreated. This duality is reflected in moments like her transformation into “Flutterbat,” a vampiric version of herself, or when her bottled-up frustration briefly turns her uncharacteristically bold. Yet even then, she always returns to her gentle nature.

Fluttershy’s home reflects her spirit—humble, warm, and teeming with life. Her animal companions include Angel Bunny, who often pushes her out of her comfort zone, and countless others like Harry the bear, Hummingway the hummingbird, and Elizabeak the chicken. She tends to each with motherly care, treating them as family rather than pets.

Musically gifted, Fluttershy directs bird choirs and occasionally sings in public despite her stage fright. Her soft, melodic voice makes her performances rare but moving, from lullabies to duets like Find a Pet Song with Rainbow Dash.

Through her journey, Fluttershy transforms from a fearful recluse into a confident, kindhearted leader who proves that courage isn’t loud or forceful—it’s gentle, patient, and unwavering in compassion. She shows that kindness, even in a world full of chaos and danger, is the most powerful form of strength.

4. #4Rarity

   Keys: Rare, Rarity

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Rarity is a refined unicorn from Ponyville, the elder sister of Sweetie Belle and the embodiment of the Element of Generosity. She runs Carousel Boutique, where she designs elegant, gem-studded dresses and lives with her temperamental cat, Opalescence. A white-coated mare with a royal purple mane and sapphire-blue eyes, Rarity carries herself with poise, grace, and an eye for perfection that borders on obsession.

As a filly, Rarity discovered her special talent when her magic led her to a massive boulder that cracked open to reveal gems, which she used to elevate her costumes from “nice” to “spectacular.” The admiration she received that night earned her cutie mark—three blue diamonds, symbolizing beauty and creativity. From that moment, Rarity dedicated herself to the pursuit of fashion, elegance, and artistic expression.

She prizes beauty in all forms, from the perfect gown to the kindness of the heart. Her generosity often shines when she crafts for her friends, such as in Suited for Success, when she exhausts herself remaking dresses to please them, or in Rarity Takes Manehattan, where she overcomes betrayal to show compassion and inspire others. Yet, her vanity sometimes clouds her judgment—she’s prone to melodrama, fusses over dirt, and treasures compliments as much as gemstones. Still, her heart remains generous; she sacrifices her own tail to restore a sea serpent’s mustache and never hesitates to share her success.

Rarity’s ambition takes her far beyond Ponyville. Her designs earn praise from Canterlot’s elite, leading her to open Canterlot Carousel and later “Rarity for You” in Manehattan. Despite temptations of fame and recognition, she learns humility and the importance of staying true to herself and her friends. Her fashion not only beautifies others—it uplifts, tells stories, and spreads confidence.

She’s also more than her refinement suggests. When captured by the Diamond Dogs, Rarity uses wit and relentless whining to outsmart her captors. Though delicate in demeanor, she can hold her own in a fight, capable of dramatic kicks and bursts of bravery when needed. Her magic, though modest next to Twilight’s, is finely tuned to her craft—telekinetically sewing, finding gems underground, and even reshaping materials with precision.

Her friendship with Spike adds warmth and humor to her story. Spike’s crush is as open as it is enduring, and though Rarity teases and indulges him, she deeply values his loyalty. Their bond matures from one-sided admiration into genuine affection—each helping the other grow.

Rarity’s relationship with her sister, Sweetie Belle, is similarly layered. Though Sweetie’s clumsy “help” often frustrates her, Rarity learns patience and selflessness through their bond. Their reconciliation in Sisterhooves Social highlights Rarity’s growth from a perfectionist into a sister who understands love means compromise and effort.

Behind the polish and dramatics, Rarity’s story is one of empathy, artistry, and the belief that beauty—both external and internal—has the power to change the world. Whether designing gowns, comforting friends, or inspiring others to see their worth, she proves that generosity and grace are the truest forms of glamour.

5. #5Pinkie Pie

   Keys: Pinkamena, Pinkie

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Pinkamena Diane Pie—better known as Pinkie Pie—is a bright pink, fun-loving Earth pony who embodies the Element of Laughter. She works and lives at Sugarcube Corner in Ponyville, where she bakes sweets, throws parties, and shares her home with her toothless alligator, Gummy. Energetic, spontaneous, and endlessly cheerful, Pinkie thrives on making others smile. Her exuberance often bends the laws of physics—she appears out of nowhere, stretches cartoonishly, and even seems aware of the show’s audience.

Raised on a dreary rock farm with her family—Igneous Rock, Cloudy Quartz, and sisters Maud, Limestone, and Marble—Pinkie’s life changed when a rainbow from Rainbow Dash’s sonic rainboom filled her with joy. Determined to spread that happiness, she threw her first party, brightening her family’s lives and earning her cutie mark: three balloons symbolizing celebration and connection. Years later, her party inspired another pony, Cheese Sandwich, who eventually became her husband and the father of their son, Li’l Cheese.

Pinkie’s mission in life is simple but profound: to bring joy wherever she goes. She organizes celebrations for nearly every occasion, memorizes everypony’s birthday, and even maintains a secret “party-planning cave” filled with notes about her friends’ favorite festivities. Her creativity shines through her famous “party cannon,” capable of decorating an entire room in one shot, and her spontaneous bursts of music—she can play a dozen instruments at once and turn any moment into a song.

Despite her boundless positivity, Pinkie has her lows. When she fears rejection, she spirals into self-doubt, as seen when she throws a party for inanimate objects in Party of One or loses confidence to Cheese Sandwich in Pinkie Pride. Her need to make others happy sometimes hides insecurities about her worth. Yet she always rebounds, reminding others—and herself—that laughter is not just fun, but healing.

Pinkie also possesses a mysterious “Pinkie Sense,” an uncanny ability to predict immediate events through random twitches and shivers. While Twilight once tried to explain it scientifically, even she eventually accepted that Pinkie simply defies logic. Whether predicting falling objects or incoming surprises, her instincts are rarely wrong.

Her friendship with her fellow ponies is marked by deep sincerity beneath the chaos. She befriends outcasts like Cranky Doodle Donkey through relentless kindness, helps her friends rediscover joy in dark times, and stands by her promises—especially her sacred “Pinkie Promises,” which she treats with absolute seriousness.

Pinkie Pie may be unpredictable and loud, but her heart is pure. Through laughter, compassion, and sheer absurdity, she reminds everypony that happiness is a choice worth fighting for—and that life, no matter how strange, is meant to be celebrated.

6. #6Rainbow Dash

   Keys: Dashie, Rainbow, RD, Dash

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Rainbow Dash is a bold, sky-blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane, magenta eyes, and a thunderbolt cutie mark—symbolizing her speed and passion for flight. The self-proclaimed “best flier in all of Equestria,” she controls Ponyville’s weather and dreams of flying with the Wonderbolts, a dream she fulfills after years of determination, joining them first as a reservist and later as a full-fledged member. She represents the Element of Loyalty, her fierce devotion to friends and ideals often tested but never truly broken.

As a filly, Rainbow earned her cutie mark at flight camp after defending Fluttershy from bullies and discovering her love for competition. Her first sonic rainboom—an explosion of color and sound—cemented her legend and unknowingly linked her destiny to her future friends. Confident, brash, and endlessly competitive, she thrives on challenges and refuses to back down from any race or rivalry, though her drive to win sometimes blinds her to others’ feelings. Despite her bravado, her loyalty always prevails—she’d rather lose glory than betray her friends.

Rainbow’s personality balances arrogance and heart. She teases Twilight as an “egghead” yet secretly loves reading, becoming obsessed with the Daring Do series after discovering it in Read It and Weep. She hides her softer side, but moments with Tank, her loyal tortoise, reveal her warmth; she even tries to stop winter to avoid his hibernation. Beneath her swagger lies a deep care for those she loves—whether comforting a scared Scootaloo, mentoring her like a sister, or showing rare vulnerability when her pride falters.

Her loyalty shines brightest in crisis. She’s resisted Discord’s manipulation, refused Nightmare Moon’s temptations, and chosen friendship over fame. Yet she isn’t flawless—her ego can make her reckless, as seen during her rivalry with Lightning Dust at Wonderbolt Academy or her over-the-top pranks in 28 Pranks Later. Still, each stumble teaches her humility and strengthens her bond with her friends.

Rainbow Dash lives in a floating cloud mansion streaked with rainbows, a reflection of her dazzling confidence and individuality. She zips across the skies, leaving a rainbow trail in her wake—an ever-moving symbol of courage, speed, and devotion. Whether breaking the sound barrier with a sonic rainboom or standing beside her friends against any threat, Rainbow Dash embodies daring, loyalty, and the belief that being awesome means standing by the ponies who matter most.

7. #7Spike

   Keys: Spike, Spikey

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Spike is a purple and green dragon and Twilight Sparkle’s number one assistant—her closest friend since childhood and the heart of their household. Though often called a “baby dragon,” he gradually matures throughout My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, even sprouting wings during his “molt” in Molt Down. By the time of Make Your Mark, he’s a fully grown dragon and the Dragon Lord, having lived through centuries of magical hibernation.

Hatched from an egg by Twilight’s magic during her entrance exam, Spike was raised by ponies in Canterlot and moved with Twilight to Ponyville. Despite being a dragon among ponies, he sees Equestria as home and the Mane Six as his family. His magical green fire allows him to send and receive letters, usually to Princess Celestia, though later he uses it for far greater feats—teleporting objects, melting metal, and even saving cities.

Spike’s loyalty and helpful nature define him. He manages Twilight’s books, scrolls, and experiments with meticulous care, though he often finds himself overwhelmed by her checklists. He’s responsible, polite, and eager to please, but also has a mischievous streak—teasing friends when they blunder, indulging in snacks mid-crisis, or showing off with bravado he doesn’t quite back up. He’s at once comic relief and a deeply empathetic friend, capable of surprising wisdom when others lose perspective.

His insecurities about being different frequently surface. In Dragon Quest, he searches for his origins among other dragons, only to realize his kindness and compassion make him unique. While he struggles with questions of identity and masculinity, he ultimately embraces who he is—a dragon raised by ponies, defined not by species but by heart.

Spike’s generosity often mirrors Rarity’s, and his affection for her is one of the show’s longest-running threads. From carrying her luggage and digging gems to gifting her his prized fire ruby in Secret of My Excess, Spike’s devotion goes beyond a crush—it reflects his capacity for selflessness. Rarity, in turn, grows to genuinely care for him, seeing in Spike a gentleness rare even among ponies.

Over time, Spike proves himself as more than Twilight’s assistant. He’s a hero in his own right—delivering the Crystal Heart in The Crystal Empire, saving the Equestria Games audience from a falling ice mass, and even temporarily becoming Dragon Lord in Gauntlet of Fire. His courage always shines brightest when others are in danger, showing a maturity that belies his youth.

Beneath his humor, appetite for gems, and love of music and performance, Spike represents growth, belonging, and the bridge between worlds. From a clumsy “baby dragon” to a wise leader, his journey is one of finding family, purpose, and self-worth—not through fire or scales, but through loyalty, humility, and heart.

8. #8Apple Bloom

   Keys: AB, Bloom

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Apple Bloom is a spirited young Earth pony from the Apple family—Applejack’s little sister, Big Mac’s, and Granny Smith’s granddaughter. A bright yellow filly with a red mane, orange eyes, and her trademark pink bow, she’s known for her boundless curiosity and determination. As one of the founding members of the Cutie Mark Crusaders alongside Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, Apple Bloom’s story is defined by her pursuit of identity and purpose, evolving from an impatient “blank flank” into a confident mentor who helps others discover their own destinies.

Growing up on Sweet Apple Acres, Apple Bloom is hardworking and eager to prove herself. Her stubborn streak often pushes her into trouble—whether chasing Zecora into the Everfree Forest to uncover the truth behind her mysterious reputation, brewing a cutie mark potion against advice in The Cutie Pox, or defying Applejack’s overprotective nature to deliver pies on her own in Somepony to Watch Over Me. Yet her mistakes always lead to growth, teaching her humility, courage, and compassion.

Her friendship with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo forms one of the show’s most heartfelt bonds. Together, the Cutie Mark Crusaders dedicate themselves to earning their cutie marks, enduring countless misadventures before realizing their true calling lies in helping others find theirs. In Crusaders of the Lost Mark, this revelation earns them matching cutie marks—shields bearing symbols of unity and empathy. From that point on, Apple Bloom becomes a natural guide, using her creativity, persistence, and intuition to assist ponies like Diamond Tiara, Tender Taps, and even a griffon named Gabby in discovering their talents.

Apple Bloom is handy, clever, and inventive—skills often shown through her carpentry, potion-making, and problem-solving. She rebuilds the Crusaders’ clubhouse from ruin, learns potion-brewing from Zecora, and even sets traps across Sweet Apple Acres in Going to Seed. Though she sometimes doubts herself or clashes with her friends, she’s deeply loyal and grounded in her Apple family values. Her relationship with Applejack, especially, balances tension and warmth; both learn from each other about independence and trust.

Over time, Apple Bloom’s curiosity matures into empathy. Her early obsession with getting a cutie mark transforms into a love for helping others understand theirs—a trait inherited from her mother, Pear Butter. What begins as a filly’s restless search for identity becomes a legacy of guidance and compassion, making Apple Bloom not just a dreamer or a doer, but a teacher in her own right.

9. #9Scootaloo

   Keys: Scoots, Scootaloo, Scoot

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Scootaloo is a spirited, tomboyish young Pegasus and a founding member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders alongside Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle. With her orange coat, short purple mane, and boundless energy, she’s best known for her scooter skills and her determination to prove herself despite her inability to fly. Her small wings, though underdeveloped, serve as powerful engines for her scooter, allowing her to perform stunts and travel faster than most ponies can gallop.

Deeply idolizing Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo sees her as both a role model and the big sister she never had. Though they aren’t related, their bond grows from admiration into a genuine sisterly connection—Rainbow becomes Scootaloo’s mentor, teaching her confidence and reminding her that flying doesn’t define her worth. Episodes like Sleepless in Ponyville and Parental Glideance highlight Scootaloo’s vulnerability and strength as she learns to accept herself and channel her passion into her own unique talents.

Like her fellow Crusaders, Scootaloo’s journey revolves around discovering identity and helping others do the same. She’s daring and impulsive, often leading the group into wild plans—sometimes clashing with Apple Bloom or Sweetie Belle, but always finding her way back to them. Together, they learn that their true calling lies not in what they lack but in guiding others to embrace their gifts.

Though unable to fly, Scootaloo’s inventive use of her scooter and her fearless spirit redefine what it means to be a Pegasus. She demonstrates resilience and creativity, turning her limitations into strengths. Her mechanical knack and athleticism appear throughout the series—building floats, mastering unicycles, and leading stunts.

Later in life, Scootaloo is shown living with her supportive aunts, Holiday and Lofty, while her adventurous parents, Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood, are often away. Despite their absence, she grows up surrounded by love and friendship, finding family not only in her guardians but in her bond with Rainbow Dash and the Crusaders. In every sense, Scootaloo embodies courage through perseverance—proving that wings don’t make a Pegasus soar, heart does.

10. #10Sweetie Belle

    Keys: Belle

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Sweetie Belle is a kindhearted young unicorn and Rarity’s little sister, known for her bright white coat, pink-and-purple curls, and green eyes. As one of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, she shares Apple Bloom and Scootaloo’s determination to discover purpose and identity—but her journey often centers on creativity, empathy, and the desire to be seen as capable in her sister’s eyes. Her cutie mark—a star and musical note within a purple shield—reflects her talent for singing and her natural harmony with others.

Though sweet and sincere, Sweetie Belle is clumsy and accident-prone. Her attempts to help Rarity often end in disaster, whether by ruining fabrics, burning breakfast, or misusing magic. Yet her heart is always in the right place, and she grows from these blunders into a thoughtful, resourceful pony. Over time, her magic improves, and her creativity shines through music, design, and leadership. Her beautiful singing voice—first glimpsed in The Show Stoppers and later perfected in Crusaders of the Lost Mark—embodies her emotional depth and artistic spirit.

Her bond with Rarity is central to her story: a mix of admiration, frustration, and unconditional love. They clash when Sweetie feels overshadowed or misunderstood, as in Sisterhooves Social and For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, but always reconcile through empathy and communication. Rarity teaches her refinement and patience, while Sweetie reminds her sister of warmth and sincerity. Their evolving relationship mirrors the Crusaders’ own growth—from reckless fillies into mature, compassionate young ponies.

Within the Crusaders, Sweetie Belle often serves as the heart of the group—the moral compass who tempers Scootaloo’s boldness and Apple Bloom’s impulsiveness. Though occasionally slow to catch on or unsure of herself, her reflective nature gives her insight into others’ feelings. She’s the one to question rash ideas, mend broken friendships, and find the gentle path forward.

By the time she earns her cutie mark alongside her friends, Sweetie Belle’s growth is clear: she’s no longer chasing identity but sharing it. Her gift is more than music—it’s her ability to inspire harmony between ponies, to help them see the best in themselves and in each other. In every way, Sweetie Belle represents the emotional core of the Crusaders: tender, creative, and true.

11. #11Princess Celestia

Keys: Celestia, Daybreaker, Sunbutt, Sun Butt, Day Breaker

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Princess Celestia is the radiant Alicorn who ruled Equestria for over a millennium, guiding her subjects with warmth, patience, and quiet wisdom. Regal and serene, her white coat, flowing pastel mane, and sun-shaped cutie mark reflect her duty as the bringer of daylight. Co-ruling beside her sister Luna, she raised the sun each morning and once the moon as well, after banishing Luna to the moon as Nightmare Moon to protect Equestria. Though this act weighed heavily on her, the sisters were later reunited and ruled together until their peaceful retirement.

Throughout Equestria’s history, Celestia stood as both ruler and mentor. She and Luna once wielded the Elements of Harmony to defeat Discord, King Sombra, and other threats, shaping the foundation of the modern kingdom. But her greatest legacy lies in her students—especially Twilight Sparkle, whom she guided from childhood, nurturing her talent and sense of friendship. Celestia’s lessons often came as gentle tests, designed to help Twilight discover her own strength, eventually leading her to ascend as Princess of Friendship and, later, Celestia’s successor.

Despite her power, Celestia remains deeply compassionate and approachable. She laughs easily, enjoys tea and cake, and delights when others bring joy to her often-formal world. Her calm nature masks a subtle loneliness—seen in her strained moments with Luna or her quiet doubts as a teacher—but her belief in others never wavers. She forgives freely, from Fluttershy’s mistake with Philomena to Discord’s betrayals, always choosing empathy over wrath.

In Magical Mystery Cure, she celebrates Twilight’s transformation with pride, declaring that even as teacher and student, they will continue to learn from each other. Eventually, Celestia steps down, entrusting Twilight with the rule of Equestria, and retires with Luna to Silver Shoals. Her reign ends not in conquest or tragedy, but in fulfillment—a life spent lifting both the sun and the hearts of those who followed her light.

12. #12Princess Luna

Keys: Moonbutt, Moon Butt, Nightmare Moon, Luna

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Princess Luna, co-ruler of Equestria and younger sister to Princess Celestia, governs the night and dreams of all ponies. Once consumed by jealousy when her subjects cherished the day but slept through her beautiful nights, she transformed into the vengeful Nightmare Moon and tried to shroud Equestria in eternal darkness. Celestia, heartbroken, used the Elements of Harmony to banish her to the moon for a thousand years. When freed, Luna was redeemed by Twilight Sparkle and her friends, returning to her true self—regretful, humble, and longing for forgiveness.

Luna’s deep blue coat, flowing star-filled mane, and crescent moon cutie mark reflect her celestial role. Though regal and powerful, she struggles with guilt from her past and the isolation of ruling the night. Over time, she learns to reconnect with her subjects, especially in Luna Eclipsed, where she awkwardly but earnestly tries to join Ponyville’s Nightmare Night festivities. Initially feared for her booming “Royal Canterlot Voice” and imposing manner, she eventually wins the ponies’ affection through humor, humility, and understanding.

Beyond her duties as princess, Luna serves as guardian of dreams, appearing in ponies’ sleep to guide them through fears and regrets. Through episodes like Sleepless in Ponyville, For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, and Bloom & Gloom, she counsels the young and troubled with patience and empathy. Yet her own dreams betray her lingering remorse—manifested in the Tantabus, a creature she created to punish herself nightly for her time as Nightmare Moon. Only by accepting forgiveness does Luna finally find peace.

Luna’s relationship with Celestia is one of deep love occasionally strained by differences in temperament. In A Royal Problem, the two learn to appreciate each other’s burdens after trading roles for a day, revealing how balance defines their bond. As the series progresses, Luna plays a crucial role in many major events—from transferring her magic to Twilight during Tirek’s rise to helping defeat the Pony of Shadows.

Ultimately, Luna retires alongside Celestia at the end of Friendship is Magic, passing their crowns to Twilight Sparkle. Her story is one of redemption and reconciliation—a fallen princess who, through humility and compassion, finds harmony within herself. No longer the lonely Mare in the Moon, Luna becomes what she was always meant to be: the serene protector of dreams and the gentle light of the night sky.

13. #13Princess Cadance

Princess Cadance—full name Princess Mi Amore Cadenza—is a kind and graceful Alicorn who embodies love and compassion. Once a Pegasus, she ascended to Alicornhood and became Princess Celestia’s adopted niece, later ruling the Crystal Empire alongside her husband, Shining Armor. She is also Twilight Sparkle’s former foal-sitter and sister-in-law, and mother to Flurry Heart. With her pink coat, multicolored mane, and crystal heart cutie mark, Cadance radiates warmth and empathy, her magic literally fueled by love.

Cadance first appears in A Canterlot Wedding, where the changeling queen Chrysalis impersonates her to invade Canterlot. The real Cadance is imprisoned beneath the city but escapes with Twilight’s help, revealing her true identity through their signature childhood chant. Reunited with Shining Armor, the two use the power of their love to repel the changelings and restore peace, symbolizing the purity and strength that defines Cadance’s character.

She later becomes ruler of the Crystal Empire, her light magic shielding it from King Sombra until she and Shining Armor help restore the Crystal Heart and save the kingdom. As ruler, she balances grace with resilience, facing countless challenges—from managing crises like Tirek’s invasion and changeling threats to raising her powerful infant daughter, Flurry Heart. Despite royal burdens, she remains approachable, often guiding Twilight through lessons of empathy, self-care, and leadership.

Throughout the series, Cadance embodies quiet strength and emotional intelligence. Whether comforting friends, mentoring Twilight, or leading her people, she proves that true power comes not from might, but from love. Her legacy as the Princess of Love cements her as one of Equestria’s most compassionate and steadfast rulers.

Shining Armor is a white unicorn stallion, Twilight Sparkle’s protective older brother, husband to Princess Cadance, and father to Flurry Heart. Once captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard and later prince of the Crystal Empire, he embodies loyalty, courage, and heart, though his earnest nature often leaves him overwhelmed by duty and emotion alike.

Introduced in A Canterlot Wedding, Shining Armor’s strong magic maintains the shield around Canterlot during Queen Chrysalis’s invasion. Manipulated and drained by the changeling queen, he’s later freed by the real Cadance, and together their love banishes the changelings. His bond with Twilight—celebrated in their song “B.B.B.F.F.”—is the emotional core of his debut, showing a brother who always meant to protect his sister, even when distance and responsibility got in the way.

In The Crystal Empire, Shining Armor and Cadance are crowned rulers after helping restore the kingdom and defeat King Sombra. His leadership is brave but humble, often contrasted with his comedic side—like his “liquid pride” tears at Twilight’s coronation or his awkwardness as a new father in The Crystalling. Despite his military role, he’s defined more by love than might: his devotion to Cadance, his care for Flurry Heart, and his enduring friendship with Twilight.

Across later episodes, Shining Armor continues as a figure of stability—commanding the guard, welcoming Thorax to the Empire after overcoming prejudice, and even competing with Twilight in the sibling rivalry episode Sparkle’s Seven. Though frequently caught between royal duty and family life, he remains steadfast, good-hearted, and genuine—a noble prince who leads not through power, but through love and integrity.

15. #15Princess Flurry Heart

    Keys: Flurry

    Entry settings

Flurry Heart is a natural-born Alicorn foal—the first in Equestria’s history—and the beloved daughter of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor. Born in the Crystal Empire, her arrival is so extraordinary that even Princess Celestia admits no record of such an event ever existing. Though small and sweet, Flurry’s magic is immensely powerful, even as a baby—her sneeze can blow holes through castle ceilings, and her cries once shattered the Crystal Heart itself, nearly plunging the Empire into eternal winter.

Her debut in The Crystalling shows both her chaos and charm: teleporting, flying, and zapping everything around her until her parents and Twilight, with the help of Sunburst, restore the Crystal Heart and name her Flurry Heart to commemorate the event. Despite her magical instability, she’s gentle and curious, quickly growing into a playful and emotionally perceptive filly. In A Flurry of Emotions, she tests Twilight’s patience during a babysitting day gone wrong, but their bond deepens when Twilight apologizes, showing how Flurry understands love and forgiveness even as a foal.

Throughout the series, she appears alongside her parents in both calm and crisis—from defending her kingdom against King Sombra’s forces to celebrating Hearth’s Warming in Best Gift Ever. Though innocent and naive, she often surprises those around her with bravery and intelligence, standing up to danger despite her youth. By The Last Problem, Flurry is depicted grown and regal, a symbol of the next generation of Equestrian royalty. Born from love and light, she represents hope, unity, and the enduring magic of family.

    Entry settings

Starlight Glimmer is a unicorn mare whose story traces one of the most complex redemptions in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Once an extremist obsessed with equality, she later becomes Twilight Sparkle’s student, a hero of Equestria, and eventually headmare of the School of Friendship. She has a lilac coat, a purple mane streaked with turquoise, and a cutie mark of a starburst with twin glimmering trails—fitting for a pony defined by both brilliance and instability.

Starlight first appears as the leader of a remote village where she preaches that true friendship comes from equality, using her magic to strip ponies of their cutie marks and individuality. Her “Staff of Sameness” is revealed to be a prop, the spell her own creation. When the Mane Six expose her hypocrisy—her fake equal mark hidden under makeup—her movement collapses, and she flees in bitterness. Reappearing in the season five finale, she uses a time travel spell to prevent Rainbow Dash’s first Sonic Rainboom, unraveling Equestria’s history and creating apocalyptic futures. Her actions stem from a childhood trauma—losing her best friend Sunburst when he earned his cutie mark. Twilight helps her face this fear, and rather than punish her, offers friendship and mentorship. This becomes the start of Starlight’s redemption.

As Twilight’s pupil, Starlight struggles with guilt, insecurity, and a dangerous overreliance on magic. Her lessons often backfire spectacularly—from mind-controlling friends to bottling up her anger into literal red smoke—but through each failure she grows more self-aware and empathetic. Reuniting with Sunburst helps her confront her past, while her friendship with Trixie becomes her most grounding relationship—two reformed misfits who find comfort in each other’s flaws.

Starlight’s journey gradually shifts from student to leader. In the season six finale, she leads a ragtag team of outcasts—Trixie, Thorax, and Discord—to rescue the princesses from Queen Chrysalis, ultimately reforming the changelings by showing the value of sharing love freely. Her courage and compassion earn her the Pink Heart of Courage and later, the role of guidance counselor at Twilight’s new school. Though she often doubts herself, she proves an insightful mediator, helping others—including Celestia and Luna, the royal sisters—see the importance of empathy and understanding.

By season eight, Starlight’s confidence blooms. She balances her chaotic magic with emotional wisdom, though her temper occasionally resurfaces. When Twilight ascends to rule Equestria, Starlight succeeds her as headmare of the School of Friendship, appointing Sunburst as vice headmare and Trixie as counselor. In the final battle against Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Chrysalis, Starlight shows her bravery once again, facing her old foe Chrysalis and helping defend Equestria.

In The Last Problem, Starlight is shown years later—older, wiser, still running the school she once feared to lead. Her arc completes in quiet triumph: from a lonely, power-hungry idealist to one of Equestria’s greatest teachers of friendship. Despite her flaws—impatience, emotional volatility, and occasional magical recklessness—Starlight embodies growth and forgiveness. She proves that even those who’ve done the most damage can learn, change, and teach others to do the same.

17. #17Discord

    Keys: Discord

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Discord, the spirit of chaos and disharmony, stands as one of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s most complex and enduring characters—a figure who evolves from a gleeful trickster god into a deeply flawed but genuine friend. A draconequus—a hybrid creature of mismatched animal parts—Discord’s very form mirrors his nature: unpredictable, asymmetrical, and defiant of order. With the head of a pony, a lion’s paw, an eagle’s claw, a lizard’s leg, a goat’s hoof, and wings of both bat and pegasus, his serpentine body embodies chaos itself.

Originally a tyrant who once ruled Equestria in an age of madness, Discord was overthrown and petrified by Princess Celestia and Princess Luna using the Elements of Harmony. When he breaks free in The Return of Harmony, he resumes his reign of mischief—turning Ponyville into a surreal playground of chocolate rain, gravity reversals, and moral corruption. More than just a prankster, Discord is a manipulator who thrives on psychological chaos, corrupting the Mane Six by twisting their virtues into vices. However, his arrogance blinds him to the strength of friendship, and he is defeated and turned to stone once more.

His true transformation begins in Keep Calm and Flutter On, where Princess Celestia entrusts Fluttershy with reforming him. Through patience and compassion, Fluttershy offers Discord something he’s never had before: friendship. When she refuses to abandon him even as his antics spiral out of control, Discord experiences an emotional awakening. For the first time, he values someone else’s feelings over his own amusement, restoring harmony and pledging to use his power “for good—most of the time.”

From then on, Discord becomes an unpredictable ally. His chaos is no longer born of malice but of mischief, insecurity, and an alien sense of humor. He delights in needling Twilight Sparkle, grows jealous of Fluttershy’s other friendships, and oscillates between comic relief and catalyst for disaster. In Twilight’s Kingdom, his trust is tested when he joins forces with Lord Tirek, only to be betrayed in turn. Humbled and remorseful, he helps Twilight unlock her full potential, completing his redemption in earnest.

Throughout later seasons, Discord remains both nuisance and protector—a being of immense power who struggles to balance his chaotic instincts with his moral growth. He learns empathy, humility, and even self-awareness, though never fully relinquishing his eccentricity. His jealousy in Make New Friends but Keep Discord, his insecurity in What About Discord?, and his childish pride in A Matter of Principals all show a being trying to navigate emotions as alien to him as order itself.

Discord’s role culminates in The Ending of the End, where he is revealed to have masqueraded as the ancient ram Grogar in a misguided attempt to test Twilight’s readiness for leadership. His scheme backfires catastrophically, nearly dooming Equestria. Yet his remorse is genuine, and he redeems himself once more by aiding in the final battle and helping imprison the true villains.

In the distant future of The Last Problem, Discord endures as a whimsical yet wiser presence in Equestria, still devoted to Fluttershy—whom he continues to visit even after her passing in Generation 5. There, he is portrayed as melancholic and lonely, burdened by the decay of the world he once knew. Yet even then, he cannot bring himself to destroy the magic of friendship, proving that beneath the chaos lies a heart forever shaped by love and loyalty.

Discord’s legacy is one of duality: order’s eternal opposite and its reluctant guardian. He is proof that even chaos can learn compassion, and that friendship—unpredictable, fragile, and beautiful—is the one kind of magic that can never be controlled.

18. #18Trixie

    Entry settings

Trixie Lulamoon, better known as The Great and Powerful Trixie, is a boastful unicorn magician whose flair for drama masks deep insecurity and a longing for respect. Recognizable by her blue coat, silvery mane, and star-patterned hat and cape, Trixie travels Equestria performing stage magic, dazzling audiences with illusion and bravado while speaking in the third person to maintain her grand persona.

Trixie first arrives in Ponyville during Boast Busters, declaring herself the most magical unicorn in Equestria. Her arrogance and false claim of defeating an Ursa Major win her few friends and many skeptics. When her lie is exposed after Twilight Sparkle subdues an actual Ursa Minor, Trixie’s pride shatters, and she flees Ponyville humiliated. Her resentment festers until Magic Duel, where she returns wielding the corrupting Alicorn Amulet to take revenge on Twilight. Empowered and unstable, she drives Twilight out and enslaves Ponyville under her rule, but when Twilight tricks her into removing the amulet, Trixie’s arrogance collapses again, and she humbly apologizes—declaring herself “The Great and Apologetic Trixie.”

Over time, Trixie’s story shifts from rivalry to redemption. In No Second Prances, she forms a genuine friendship with Starlight Glimmer, bonding over their shared pasts of arrogance and isolation. Despite Twilight’s doubts, their relationship endures through jealousy, misunderstanding, and adventure—from saving Equestria in To Where and Back Again to co-teaching at the School of Friendship. Their friendship is both chaotic and sincere, with Trixie’s impulsive, self-centered behavior often clashing with Starlight’s practicality, yet their loyalty to one another always wins out.

Trixie evolves from a fraud to a functional magician, learning real spells like transfiguration and teleportation, though her magic remains inconsistent and prone to comical mishaps. Her skill lies not in raw power but in performance—showmanship, illusion, and the courage to make amends after her mistakes.

By The Last Problem, Trixie has matured into the School of Friendship’s guidance counselor, still theatrical but wiser, channeling her flair into helping others instead of competing with them. From boastful rival to redeemed performer, Trixie’s journey captures the essence of humility learned through failure, proving that even the loudest showoff can grow into someone truly great—and genuinely powerful.

Easygoing and level-headed, he’s the most grounded of the Young Six and often acts as their calm center. First appearing in School Daze, Sandbar enrolls in Twilight Sparkle’s School of Friendship, where his friendly and open nature helps bridge the gap between ponies and other creatures.

Though quiet and modest, Sandbar shows strong loyalty and courage—staying with his friends when the school closes, defending them during Cozy Glow’s schemes, and standing up for what’s right even when it means challenging authority. His moral compass and dependability often guide the group through conflict, earning him the quiet respect of his peers.

Sandbar’s connection with Yona becomes one of the show’s most heartfelt subplots. In She’s All Yak, he invites her to the Amity Ball, encouraging her to be true to herself—a moment that cements their bond and hints at deeper affection.

Throughout seasons eight and nine, Sandbar is portrayed as a voice of reason and gentle optimism, embodying the simple yet powerful values of honesty, kindness, and friendship. By The Last Problem, he has grown into a mature stallion who remains close to his friends, a living reminder that steadfastness and sincerity can hold a group together just as strongly as magic itself.

Smolder is a confident, sharp-tongued young dragon and Garble’s younger sister, introduced in School Daze as the Dragon Lands’ representative at Twilight’s School of Friendship. With orange scales, purple fins, turquoise eyes, and a tough demeanor, she initially views the school as a waste of time, but her attitude softens after bonding with her fellow students—Gallus, Yona, Sandbar, Ocellus, and Silverstream—forming the Young Six.

Though she acts brash and sarcastic, Smolder reveals surprising emotional depth and understanding over time. She teaches Spike about dragon culture and the "molt" in Molt Down, and later shows a tender side when admitting she likes cute things during the Tree of Harmony’s trial in What Lies Beneath. Her arc often contrasts dragon pride with Equestrian compassion, balancing strength with sensitivity.

In Sweet and Smoky, Smolder’s loyalty to family and friends shines as she helps Spike reconcile with Garble, supporting both brothers as they learn self-acceptance. She later defends her friends against Cozy Glow in School Raze and helps rally dragons in The Ending of the End. Her confidence, honesty, and fiery loyalty make her both fierce and kind—a dragon unafraid to embrace what she truly feels.

By The Last Problem, Smolder has matured into a poised, respected dragon, still close to her friends and proud of who she’s become—proof that true strength can come from both fire and heart.

    Entry settings

Gallus is a blue-feathered male griffon with a lion’s body, eagle’s wings and beak, and sharp cerulean eyes. Introduced in School Daze, he comes to Twilight Sparkle’s School of Friendship as Griffonstone’s representative under the gruff supervision of Grampa Gruff. At first cynical, sarcastic, and detached, Gallus hides deep insecurity behind his dry humor and apathy. His time at the school, and especially his bond with the Young Six—Sandbar, Yona, Ocellus, Silverstream, and Smolder—gradually bring out his loyalty and compassion.

Coming from a cold and unfriendly homeland, Gallus struggles most with the concept of friendship and connection. His tough exterior cracks in The Hearth’s Warming Club, where it’s revealed he has no family and dreads returning to Griffonstone for the holidays. His friends’ decision to stay with him marks a turning point in his emotional growth. Throughout later seasons, he continues to mature—often the voice of dry reason, occasionally snarky but reliable when it counts. He faces his fear of confinement in What Lies Beneath, rallies his peers in School Raze, and helps lead the defense of Ponyville in The Ending of the End, even inspiring his own kind to fight alongside ponies.

By The Last Problem, Gallus has grown into the future Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard, symbolizing how far he’s come from a lonely griffon who doubted friendship’s worth. He remains a grounded, quietly brave figure—an embodiment of how loyalty, trust, and empathy can be learned even by those who once believed they didn’t need them.

Initially timid and unsure of herself, Ocellus often hides behind disguises and fears being judged for her species’ dark past. Yet, her intelligence, empathy, and quiet bravery quickly make her a vital part of the Young Six.

Throughout her time at the school, Ocellus steadily grows in confidence and self-acceptance. She demonstrates creativity and courage—transforming into sea creatures to save her friends, facing her fear of Queen Chrysalis in What Lies Beneath, and using her intellect to uncover Cozy Glow’s plot in School Raze. Her bond with Smolder is especially strong, their friendship built on mutual respect and emotional honesty.

Ocellus values harmony and identity deeply, themes reflected in her story arc. In Student Counsel, she seeks guidance from Starlight Glimmer about who she truly is, symbolizing her ongoing search for belonging beyond her hive. Despite her timid nature, she consistently proves her strength through compassion and understanding rather than force.

By Uprooted and The Ending of the End, Ocellus becomes a unifying voice among changelings and ponies alike, leading her kind to aid in Equestria’s defense. In The Last Problem, she appears as a mature, confident changeling—proof that acceptance and empathy can transform even the most uncertain hearts into leaders of friendship.

With her light brown fur, braided scarlet mane and tail, olive-green eyes, curved horns, and traditional turquoise poncho, Yona is strong, loud, and deeply proud of her yak heritage—but she also has one of the kindest hearts among her friends.

Initially, Yona struggles with pony customs and language, often speaking in broken Equestrian and referring to herself in the third person. Despite her clumsy nature, she quickly proves to be loyal, brave, and eager to learn about friendship. Her yak honesty and enthusiasm often bring humor and warmth to the group.

Throughout the series, Yona develops strong friendships with her fellow students, particularly Sandbar, with whom she shares a heartfelt bond. In She’s All Yak, she tries to “pony herself up” for the Amity Ball, only to learn that Sandbar likes her just as she is—leading to one of the series’ sweetest and most memorable friendship (and implied romantic) moments.

Yona’s bravery and teamwork stand out in episodes like What Lies Beneath and School Raze, where she faces her fears and helps save her friends and the school. She later plays a key role in uniting the yaks to aid Equestria during the final battle in The Ending of the End.

By The Last Problem, Yona has grown into a graceful, confident adult working at Rarity’s Carousel Boutique in Ponyville. Her journey from a clumsy student to a proud, self-assured yak reflects the strength of friendship—and the beauty of embracing who you truly are.

She has a pinkish-magenta coat, flowing blue-striped mane and tail, and bright violet eyes that reflect her boundless wonder. Introduced in School Daze, she comes to Twilight Sparkle’s School of Friendship as the representative of the hippogriffs under General Seaspray’s guidance.

Having spent most of her early life underwater after the Storm King’s invasion, Silverstream is fascinated by everything on land—stairs, technology, even simple objects—treating every discovery like an adventure. Her infectious excitement often contrasts with her more grounded classmates, but it helps the Young Six bond early on. Though bubbly and naive, she proves brave and compassionate, helping Gallus overcome his fears in What Lies Beneath and inspiring her friends with her optimism.

Her backstory expands in Surf and/or Turf, where she struggles between her love for Mount Aris and the freedom of Seaquestria, mirroring her family’s own divide. Over time, she matures into a loyal, artistic, and caring friend, as seen in Uprooted, when she paints a memorial to the Tree of Harmony. She even shows courage taming a cockatrice named Edith in Student Counsel.

By the series’ end, Silverstream stands as one of the most open-hearted creatures in Equestria—joyful, creative, and unafraid of the unknown. In The Last Problem, she appears grown and confident, still close to her friends and embodying the pure curiosity and wonder that made her so beloved.

25. #25Gilda

    Keys: Gilda

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Gilda is a proud and sharp-tongued griffon whose story traces a fall from arrogance to redemption. She embodies the tension between Griffonstone’s cynical culture and Equestria’s ideals of friendship—an outsider who slowly learns to reconnect with warmth and loyalty.

A hybrid of eagle and lion, Gilda has white head feathers tipped in violet, golden eyes, and a lithe brown body ending in leonine paws and tail tuft. Her design reflects both grace and strength—traits mirrored in her confident yet abrasive personality.

Introduced in Griffon the Brush Off, Gilda reunites with her old flight camp friend Rainbow Dash in Ponyville. However, her disdain for “lame ponies” and possessive attitude toward Dash reveal her insecurity beneath the bravado. Her bullying of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy alienates her from others, and when Rainbow Dash calls her out for her behavior, Gilda storms off—too proud to admit she’s hurt.

Years later, in The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone, she reappears as a struggling baker in the crumbling griffon capital. Hardened by a greedy, loveless society, she focuses on selling stale scones to earn enough money to escape. Yet, when Pinkie and Rainbow’s friendship mission brings them to Griffonstone, Gilda’s hardened shell begins to crack. After choosing to save her friends over reclaiming the legendary Idol of Boreas, she rediscovers what friendship truly means. Inspired by Pinkie, she starts rebuilding both her bakery and her community, becoming one of Griffonstone’s few advocates for kindness and cooperation.

Gilda’s later appearances reinforce her growth: she supports Gabby’s dream of friendship (The Fault in Our Cutie Marks), stands among Equestria’s united forces in The Ending of the End, and attends Twilight’s coronation in The Last Problem.

Once defined by bitterness and pride, Gilda ultimately becomes a symbol of change—proof that even in a kingdom built on selfishness, one griffon’s open heart can start to heal an entire nation.

With her reddish-brown coat, pink-streaked mane, and thick Bronx accent, she embodies both city grit and Apple family heart. Though she starts out as a bully in One Bad Apple, teasing the Cutie Mark Crusaders to avoid being bullied herself, her story quickly becomes one of redemption and self-acceptance. Once she opens up about being mocked back home for her blank flank, the Crusaders forgive her, and Babs joins them—eventually founding the Manehattan branch of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Her early insecurity gives way to confidence and empathy as she learns to stand up for others, even defending her friends against Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. Babs’s cutie mark, a pair of scissors with apple-shaped handles, symbolizes both her creativity and her roots in the Apple family. Her fondness for trimming her mane and fussing over her look hints at her special talent long before she earns it, showing her flair for style and precision.

Despite the distance between Manehattan and Ponyville, Babs remains close with Apple Bloom and the Crusaders. Their bond deepens in Apple Family Reunion, where she helps rebuild the barn and shares her excitement for future reunions. Though she eventually outgrows the Crusaders after discovering her calling, she remains a proud friend and honorary sister to the group, proof that even “bad seeds” can grow into something good.

Light grey with a yellow beak and talons, fluffy neck, and large wings, she’s usually seen carrying her mailbag—a symbol of both her job as a delivery griffon and her desire to spread joy.

Gabby’s story begins in The Fault in Our Cutie Marks, where her admiration for ponies and their cutie marks drives her to seek one of her own. Inspired by Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash’s kindness, she comes to Ponyville and asks the Cutie Mark Crusaders to help her discover her purpose. Though they tell her that griffons can’t get cutie marks, she refuses to give up and throws herself into every activity imaginable, showing incredible enthusiasm and skill in all of them. When she realizes she can’t earn a mark like a pony, she fakes one to cheer the Crusaders up, but the truth only reveals her genuine spirit—Gabby’s real gift lies in helping others. Moved by her kindness, the Crusaders craft her a wooden cutie mark and name her their first griffon member, a moment that marks her as one of Ponyville’s most hopeful and selfless friends.

Over time, Gabby remains closely tied to both the Crusaders and Ponyville. She becomes pen pals with Spike, joins in major events like the final battle against Equestria’s foes, and proudly carries the Crusaders’ ideals back to Griffonstone. Thorax, the benevolent changeling who rose from outcast to king, embodies the spirit of transformation—both literal and emotional. Once indistinguishable from the swarm under Queen Chrysalis, Thorax breaks free from his hive’s parasitic ways after witnessing the power of friendship during the Canterlot invasion. Drawn to the Crystal Empire by its radiant love, he struggles to survive among those who fear him until Spike extends an unlikely hoof of trust. Their bond becomes the cornerstone of Thorax’s journey, proving that changelings can give and share love instead of stealing it.

In The Times They Are A Changeling, Thorax’s compassion and courage win over the Crystal Ponies, and with Spike’s help, he becomes a symbol of redemption. When Chrysalis later invades Equestria in To Where and Back Again, Thorax joins Starlight, Trixie, and Discord in infiltrating the hive. Choosing to share his love rather than hoard it transforms him into a radiant new form—light green chitin, amber chest, azure carapace, and shimmering fuchsia wings—and triggers the rebirth of the changeling race. With Chrysalis defeated, Thorax assumes leadership as the new changeling king.

As ruler, Thorax struggles to balance kindness with authority. In Triple Threat, his insecurities as a young leader clash with Ember’s fiery confidence until they learn from one another—assertiveness tempered by empathy. In To Change a Changeling, his devotion to family shines as he defends his stubborn brother Pharynx, proving that even the toughest hearts can change through love and patience.

Thorax’s diplomacy grows as he represents changelings at the School of Friendship, entrusting Ocellus to learn among ponies while advocating equality among species. His appearances in later episodes, from Uprooted to The Ending of the End, show him as a steady ally to Equestria, standing beside dragons, yaks, and ponies alike in their final stand against evil.

By The Last Problem, King Thorax stands proud among Twilight’s circle of friends and rulers—a living testament that even those born in darkness can embrace the light when shown understanding and friendship.

Dragon Lord Ember is a fierce yet wise dragon princess who becomes one of Equestria’s strongest allies and a key symbol of change among her kind. She’s defined by her brilliant cyan scales, white horns, orange eyes, and indigo-to-cobalt wings—a striking presence that perfectly matches her fiery spirit and pride.

Ember is first introduced in Gauntlet of Fire as the daughter of Dragon Lord Torch, a massive and imposing ruler who believes leadership comes only from size and strength. Defying her father’s wishes, Ember disguises herself to compete in the Gauntlet and proves that determination and intellect matter just as much as power. Though she begins the competition dismissing friendship as weakness, her alliance with Spike changes her outlook. When Spike wins the Gauntlet and names her the new Dragon Lord, Ember accepts with both humility and resolve—pledging to lead through understanding rather than fear.

As Dragon Lord, Ember works tirelessly to reshape dragon culture. Her appearances in Triple Threat and School Daze highlight her growing empathy and leadership maturity—learning to communicate emotions, value teamwork, and stand up for her people without aggression. She forms an unlikely but meaningful friendship with Thorax, ruler of the changelings, bridging yet another gap between species once hostile to ponies.

By Sweet and Smoky, Ember proves her compassion as a leader, guiding dragons through the delicate task of hatching their young and defending the poetic Garble from ridicule. Her respect for creativity and kindness shows how far she and her kind have evolved under her rule.

In later seasons, Ember stands alongside Equestria’s leaders in moments of crisis, notably in The Ending of the End, uniting dragons in the final stand against evil. Her presence at Twilight’s coronation in The Last Problem signifies her lasting bond with the ponies and her role in maintaining peace across the lands.

Ember embodies the perfect balance between fire and heart—a proud dragon who learned that true strength comes not from dominance, but from friendship, empathy, and the courage to change.

    Entry settings

Tempest Shadow, born Fizzlepop Berrytwist, is a dark purple unicorn with a jagged, broken horn, a scar over her right eye, and a magenta mane and tail. She serves as the Storm King’s former second-in-command, wearing black armor and boots, with a concealed cutie mark. Traumatized as a filly when an ursa minor attack left her hornless and isolated, Tempest grew distrustful of friendship and sought power to restore her horn.

In My Little Pony: The Movie, she leads the Storm King’s forces to capture the Alicorn princesses, turning Celestia, Luna, and Cadance to obsidian and relentlessly pursuing Twilight Sparkle and her friends. Initially cruel and calculating, she is betrayed by the Storm King, but Twilight’s unexpected kindness inspires Tempest to act selflessly, ultimately saving the princesses and defeating the Storm King. She reconciles with her past, embraces friendship, and reveals her true name, Fizzlepop Berrytwist, celebrating at the Friendship Festival.

After the movie, Tempest travels Equestria spreading news of the Storm King’s defeat, and she participates in later conflicts, including the final battle against Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow in The Ending of the End - Part 2, and attends Twilight’s coronation in The Last Problem. Her backstory, explored in prequels and comics, reveals her rise from a scarred, hornless filly to a formidable but ultimately redeemed pony who learns the value of friendship.

31. #31Queen Chrysalis

    Keys: Chrysalis

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Queen Chrysalis is the ruthless and manipulative ruler of the changelings—a shapeshifting predator who feeds on love and seeks dominion over Equestria. Towering and insect-like, with a jagged horn, teal mane, fanged grin, and hole-riddled limbs, Chrysalis embodies hunger and deceit. Her debut in A Canterlot Wedding reveals her at her most cunning: impersonating Princess Cadance to drain Shining Armor’s love and weaken Canterlot’s defenses. Though she successfully defeats Princess Celestia and nearly claims victory, the power of Cadance and Shining Armor’s love repels her and her hive, sending them into exile.

In later appearances, Chrysalis returns as both conqueror and exile, fueled by vengeance rather than survival. In To Where and Back Again, she enslaves Equestria’s leaders and imprisons the Mane Six, only to be overthrown by Thorax’s rebellion and the changelings’ reformation. Refusing Starlight Glimmer’s offer of friendship, she flees, vowing revenge. Her hatred festers across seasons—she creates corrupted clones of the Mane Six in The Mean 6, attempts to build a new hive, and watches it all crumble again.

By Season Nine, Chrysalis becomes part of Grogar’s alliance with Tirek and Cozy Glow. Though their teamwork is uneasy, their ambition binds them. They betray Grogar (revealed as Discord) and wield the Bewitching Bell’s power to nearly destroy Equestria. Chrysalis personally captures Starlight Glimmer and revels in her supposed triumph, only to fall once more when ponies unite against her. Even in defeat, she refuses redemption, lunging in fury as she is turned to stone alongside her co-conspirators.

Chrysalis’s legacy endures as one of Equestria’s most dangerous foes—defined by pride, manipulation, and an insatiable hunger for power. Unlike her redeemed hive, she remains the shadow of what changelings once were: a creature consumed not by love, but by the desire to control it.

32. #32King Sombra

    Keys: Sombra

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

King Sombra is a dark unicorn of umbrum origin and the former tyrant of the Crystal Empire, whose reign was marked by oppression, enslavement, and the pervasive use of dark magic. Once a ruler of immense magical ability and cruelty, Sombra’s dominion ended when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna defeated and banished him to the frozen north. Before his exile, he placed a powerful curse upon the Crystal Empire, causing it to vanish from existence for a millennium. When the Empire reemerged, so too did Sombra, returning as a living shadow intent on reclaiming his throne. His efforts were thwarted when Spike and Princess Cadance used the Crystal Heart to channel the citizens’ collective hope and love, destroying him in a burst of radiant magic.

Physically, Sombra is defined by his dark gray coat, black mane, curved crimson horn, and glowing red-and-green eyes wreathed in violet mist—a visual manifestation of his corruption. His magic centers on the creation of black crystals that suppress or counter other forms of magic and can immobilize or weaponize the environment. He also demonstrates shapeshifting into shadow form, mental domination of others through fear, and the casting of large-scale curses, marking him as one of the most powerful dark spellcasters in Equestrian history.

Sombra’s legacy continued beyond his initial destruction. In the alternate timeline created during The Cutie Re-Mark, he commands an army of enslaved Crystal Ponies in open war against Equestria. Later, in The Beginning of the End, Sombra is resurrected by Grogar to join an alliance of villains, though his arrogance drives him to act alone. Demonstrating both strategy and raw power, he conquers the Crystal Empire, destroys the Tree and Elements of Harmony, and subjugates Ponyville and Canterlot. Despite these achievements, his hubris proves fatal; the Mane Six channel the magic of friendship directly—without relying on the Elements—and obliterate him once more.

Though his story concludes with final annihilation, Sombra remains emblematic of the corrupting nature of unchecked ambition. His use of fear as a weapon, mastery of forbidden magic, and relentless pursuit of domination position him among Equestria’s most formidable and psychologically complex antagonists—a being whose downfall underscores the moral and metaphysical limits of power in the My Little Pony mythos.

33. #33Lord Tirek

    Keys: Tirek

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Lord Tirek is a male centaur and one of Equestria’s most powerful dark magic users, driven by a consuming desire to drain others’ magic and dominate the world. Once a conqueror from a distant land, Tirek came to Equestria alongside his brother Scorpan to steal its magic. While Scorpan was moved by the ponies’ kindness and betrayed him to Celestia and Luna, Tirek refused to repent and was imprisoned in Tartarus for centuries. He eventually escapes, weakened but vengeful, and begins restoring his strength by siphoning unicorn magic. His frail body grows larger and more monstrous with every spell absorbed, transforming him from a hunched old centaur into a towering, muscular titan radiating raw power.

In Twilight’s Kingdom, Tirek allies himself with Discord by appealing to his chaotic nature, convincing him that friendship is just another form of restraint. With Discord’s help, Tirek devours the magic of all ponies across Equestria, betrays Discord once he’s outlived his usefulness, and captures Twilight’s friends to force her surrender. Their ensuing battle—an earth-shaking clash of raw magical might—marks one of the most destructive duels in the series. Although Tirek absorbs the combined magic of all four Alicorn princesses, Twilight and her friends ultimately unlock the power of the Tree of Harmony, overwhelming Tirek and draining him back to his frail, powerless form before he’s returned to Tartarus.

He reappears in School Raze, revealing his manipulation of Cozy Glow to drain Equestria’s magic, and later in The Beginning of the End, where he is freed from Tartarus by Grogar to join a coalition of villains. Initially reluctant to cooperate with Chrysalis and Cozy Glow, he eventually learns the value of cunning partnership, and together they overthrow Grogar—who is revealed to be Discord in disguise—and seize the power of the Bewitching Bell. Empowered once more, Tirek wages war against Equestria, defeating legendary heroes and matching the Mane Six in open battle. His ambition is undone, however, when the combined magic of friendship from across Equestria strips him of power for good. In the finale, he, Chrysalis, and Cozy Glow are turned to stone, ending his reign of terror permanently.

Tirek embodies the destructive hunger for power at the cost of connection. His physical transformations mirror his spiritual decay, and his downfall reflects Equestria’s central truth—that magic drawn from friendship, not domination, is the most enduring strength of all.

34. #34Cozy Glow

    Keys: Cozy Glow

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Cozy Glow is a young Pegasus filly whose sweet demeanor hides one of the most cunning and manipulative minds in Equestria. With her salmon-pink coat, curly light blue mane tied with ribbons, and striking scarlet eyes, she presents herself as the picture of innocence—but beneath that charm lies an ambitious schemer who views friendship not as a virtue, but as a tool for control.

Introduced in Marks for Effort, Cozy initially appears as a struggling student at Twilight Sparkle’s School of Friendship. Pretending to be insecure and eager to learn, she wins the sympathy of the Cutie Mark Crusaders and the school faculty. In truth, Cozy Glow is already studying how friendship influences power structures, seeking to exploit that dynamic for her own gain. Her manipulation of the Crusaders, her calculated confessions, and her carefully maintained image of sweetness foreshadow her true nature.

Her mask drops in School Raze, when it’s revealed that she has been working with Lord Tirek to drain all magic from Equestria. Cozy believes that “friendship is power” and that, by removing magic, she can reshape society under her rule as the headmare of the School of Friendship. She orchestrates a mass uprising among the students, locks away her opposition, and nearly succeeds in seizing control of Equestria—all without a trace of magic herself, relying purely on intelligence, charisma, and manipulation. Her eventual defeat by the Young Six and the Mane Six exposes her delusional worldview: she sees friendship not as mutual trust but as a hierarchy she should dominate. For her crimes, she is imprisoned in Tartarus—making her the youngest known inmate.

In The Beginning of the End and Frenemies, Cozy joins the alliance of villains formed by Grogar, alongside Queen Chrysalis and Lord Tirek. Though outwardly childish and naive, she quickly proves to be the glue holding the dysfunctional trio together—alternately manipulating and motivating them to work as a team. Cozy’s adaptability and social cunning make her the emotional strategist of the group, contrasting Tirek’s brute force and Chrysalis’s pride. Together, they betray Grogar (who is secretly Discord in disguise) and seize the Bewitching Bell, using its power to become godlike beings. Cozy herself transforms into an Alicorn, reveling in the irony of achieving through treachery what Twilight earned through growth.

In The Ending of the End, Cozy leads assaults on Canterlot, draining the Princesses’ magic and nearly erasing Equestria’s harmony. However, her lust for control ultimately undermines her alliances. When the ponies unite against her and her cohorts, Cozy’s belief in domination collapses before the collective strength of true friendship. Stripped of her power, she is turned to stone alongside Chrysalis and Tirek—a chilling reminder of how far a child’s hunger for validation can descend into tyranny.

Cozy Glow stands out among My Little Pony’s villains as the most psychologically complex: a filly who learned all the lessons of friendship’s form but none of its heart. She embodies manipulation disguised as empathy, a dark mirror to Twilight Sparkle’s ideals. Her fall from a promising student to a symbol of corrupted ambition is one of the most haunting cautionary tales in the series.

35. #35Grogar

    Keys: Grogar

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Grogar is an ancient ibex sorcerer known throughout Equestrian legend as the Father of Monsters—a being of immense magical power and cruelty who once ruled the land through fear. Towering, blue-furred, with curling horns and burning red eyes, Grogar embodies the old world’s raw, predatory magic: ruthless, cold, and calculating. Around his neck hangs the Bewitching Bell, the vessel of his power and the source of the beasts that once terrorized ancient Equestria.

First mentioned in the story of Gusty the Great, Grogar’s myth precedes him. His tyranny stretched so far and wide that it took an army of unicorns to confront him, and only when Gusty stole his bell was he finally defeated, stripped of his power, and banished to obscurity. But legend insists he never truly died—merely waited, recovering his strength in the shadows and biding his time until the world forgot his name. By the time of the present day, Grogar’s name has faded into myth, remembered only in children’s stories.

When Grogar seemingly returns in Season Nine, he commands a presence unlike any villain before him. Without flourish or vanity, he summons Queen Chrysalis, Lord Tirek, Cozy Glow, and King Sombra, binding them under his authority through sheer intimidation. Grogar’s strategy is not chaos or ego, but pragmatism: he recognizes that the ponies’ unity is their greatest weapon and intends to forge a dark mirror of that unity among his followers. His rule is absolute—his threats calm, measured, and terrifying. When Sombra defies him, Grogar allows him to fail and perish, using his death as an example to enforce loyalty among the rest. His power is vast; a mere spark of his magic restores Tirek’s strength, and his crystal eye allows him to watch the world from his hidden lair. Yet even at his most commanding, Grogar is driven by frustration and bitterness—a forgotten god whose name no longer inspires terror.

However, the ultimate revelation in The Ending of the End shatters the illusion: this Grogar is not the ancient tyrant reborn, but Discord in disguise, orchestrating the alliance in a misguided attempt to test Twilight Sparkle’s readiness to rule. The real Grogar never appears in the present—only in illustrations and legend—making him a phantom of Equestria’s past, a myth weaponized by Discord’s hubris. This twist reframes the story’s themes: the most fearsome name in Equestrian history turns out to be a mask, yet the fear he represents remains real.

Grogar, whether myth or memory, stands as the archetype of domination through fear—a being who sought power not for pleasure but for permanence. His legend endures because it speaks to an older, darker age, when Equestria was not yet bound by harmony, and monsters still answered to a single bell.

36. #36The Storm King

    Keys: Storm King

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Storm King is a towering satyr-like warlord and conqueror from lands beyond Equestria, serving as the primary antagonist of My Little Pony: The Movie. Driven by a hunger for domination and spectacle, he wages war not for ideology but for power and amusement—his ambition culminating in an invasion of Canterlot to seize the combined magic of Equestria’s four Alicorn princesses.

Physically, he resembles a massive ape-goat hybrid with gray skin, thick white fur, and hooved legs. His jagged crown, black armor, and the cyan crystal-tipped Staff of Sacanas mark his station as a tyrant obsessed with control. Despite his imposing stature and destructive power, the Storm King’s demeanor veers between flippant arrogance and violent cruelty—he treats conquest as both a game and a business, commanding his armies through mockery rather than loyalty.

Through his lieutenant Tempest Shadow, he wages war on Equestria, promising her the restoration of her broken horn in exchange for the princesses’ captured magic. His invasion forces—Tempest, her bumbling assistant Grubber, and a legion of Storm Creatures—successfully seize Canterlot and imprison the royal family. When the Storm King finally arrives in person, he drains the Alicorns’ magic into the Staff of Sacanas, gaining the ability to manipulate the sun and moon at will. Empowered and euphoric, he turns on Tempest, revealing that his promise to her was a lie. Yet this betrayal becomes his undoing: Twilight Sparkle’s friends rally to save her, and as Tempest sacrifices herself to protect Twilight from his final attack, both are turned to stone by his own magic. The Storm King’s petrified form falls from the castle balcony and shatters—his reign ending as violently and vainly as it began.

Though dead, his shadow lingers over Equestria’s history. Later episodes reference his invasion and the scars it left on others—particularly the Hippogriffs, who were driven into the sea to escape his armies. Silverstream’s retelling of the “Three Days of Freedom” festival in The Hearth’s Warming Club enshrines his downfall as a symbol of liberation and resilience. Even in illusion, as seen in What Lies Beneath, the Storm King endures as the embodiment of tyranny and fear—a laughing ghost of power gained and lost.

Ultimately, the Storm King stands apart from Equestria’s more personal villains. Where others act from resentment or desire for belonging, he seeks only domination for its own sake—a hollow god of storms undone by his own arrogance.

37. #37Princess Skystar

    Keys: Skystar

    Entry settings

Princess Skystar is the bright, bubbly princess of Seaquestria and daughter of Queen Novo, a young Hippogriff whose boundless curiosity and optimism help bridge the worlds above and below the waves. She has yellow plumage, blue hair, and cyan eyes, with a magical pearl necklace that allows her to transform between Hippogriff and Seapony form—each as lively and colorful as her personality.

Skystar first appears in My Little Pony: The Movie, where the Mane Six discover her singing in the submerged ruins of Hippogriffia. After saving the ponies from drowning, she introduces them to Seaquestria and reveals the truth about her people: once Hippogriffs, they fled beneath the sea using Queen Novo’s Pearl of Transformation to escape the Storm King’s invasion. Eager for companionship after years of isolation, Skystar quickly bonds with Pinkie Pie and the others, her enthusiasm and playfulness shining through despite her mother’s strict caution.

When Queen Novo refuses to aid the ponies, Skystar’s longing for friendship deepens, leading her to defy her mother after Twilight’s failed attempt to take the Pearl. She transforms back into a Hippogriff and joins the heroes in their daring rescue of Twilight, fighting bravely during the battle for Canterlot and celebrating afterward at the Friendship Festival—though she’s humorously grounded for sneaking out.

In The Ending of the End – Part 2, Skystar returns alongside Queen Novo and her cousin Silverstream, rallying the seaponies to stand with Equestria in its final battle.

Cheerful, adventurous, and endlessly social, Princess Skystar embodies the joy of discovery and the courage to follow one’s heart—uniting the ocean’s depths with the skies above through friendship.

38. #38Queen Novo

    Keys: Novo

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Queen Novo is the regal and cautious ruler of Hippogriffia and Seaquestria, a wise monarch who balances her protective instincts with a deep care for her people—and her daughter, Princess Skystar. She is a graceful white Hippogriff with violet hair, light blue feathers, and a golden crown, able to transform between her skyborne and seapony forms through the magic of the Pearl of Transformation.

In My Little Pony: The Movie, Queen Novo is introduced when the Mane Six, seeking aid against the Storm King, are brought before her by Skystar. Once the proud leader of the Hippogriffs, Novo had used the Pearl to save her kind by retreating beneath the waves after the Storm King’s invasion, establishing the hidden kingdom of Seaquestria. Though wary of outsiders, she allows Twilight and her friends to remain when Skystar pleads their case, even transforming them into seaponies so they can breathe and move freely underwater. Despite enjoying their cheerful company, Novo refuses Twilight’s request to borrow the Pearl—determined to keep it safe from falling into enemy hooves. When Twilight’s desperation leads her to try stealing it, Novo’s sense of betrayal is fierce; she strips the ponies of their sea forms and banishes them from her realm. Yet, after the Storm King’s defeat, Novo later attends the Friendship Festival in Canterlot, laughing as she “grounds” Skystar for disobedience but clearly proud of her courage.

Following the film, Novo is mentioned throughout the series. After the Storm King’s fall, she divides the Pearl into hundreds of fragments, allowing Hippogriffs to travel freely between Mount Aris and Seaquestria. Her niece Silverstream later represents her kind at the School of Friendship. In The Hearth’s Warming Club, she appears in Silverstream’s tale of the Hippogriffs’ “Three Days of Freedom” festival, and in The Ending of the End – Part 2, she rallies the seaponies beside her daughter to join the final battle for Equestria.

Firm yet fair, Queen Novo embodies the strength of a leader who has endured loss but still believes in the hope that unity—and trust—can bring.

39. #39Princess Amore

    Keys: Amore

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Princess Amore was the first ruler of the Crystal Empire, a unicorn whose magic and heart embodied the pure love that powered her kingdom. With a crystal-like coat, a crown, and a cutie mark shaped like a crystalline heart, she became known as the “Crystal Princess,” remembered for founding the Crystal Faire and forging the deep bond between her people and the Crystal Heart.

In The Journal of the Two Sisters, it’s said that Amore’s connection to the Heart began when she channeled her love into it, spreading warmth and light across the land. The Heart’s radiance revealed her destiny, granting her both her cutie mark and her title. She later befriended Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who admired her unwavering kindness. When a dragon once stole the Crystal Heart, Amore kept her subjects’ hope alive until the sisters reclaimed it, marking the first Crystal Faire celebration.

Amore’s story takes a darker turn in My Little Pony: FIENDship is Magic #1, which recounts the rise of King Sombra. As a colt, Sombra saw a terrifying vision of his future during the Faire, and Amore—who knew the truth of his shadowy nature—tried to guide him toward a better path. When Sombra later succumbed to darkness, he confronted Amore for allowing him to live under the illusion of normalcy. Though she begged him to choose light, Sombra turned her to black crystal, shattered her statue, and scattered the fragments across Equestria.

Even in her absence, Amore’s influence endured. Later comics reveal that she could be restored if her shattered form were reassembled, and Princess Cadance is noted as her descendant—an echo of the love and hope Amore once embodied.

Tragic yet eternal, Princess Amore remains the spiritual heart of the Crystal Empire, her legacy carried on through the Crystal Heart’s glow and the harmony she inspired.

40. #40Prince Blueblood

    Keys: Blue Blood, Blueblood

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Prince Blueblood is a royal unicorn of Canterlot and the distant nephew of Princesses Celestia and Luna, as well as cousin to Princess Cadance. Elegant in appearance—with a pristine white coat, blue mane, and noble bearing—he embodies every outward sign of aristocracy but none of its grace. Though Rarity once imagined him as her storybook prince, her fantasy collapses the night they meet at the Grand Galloping Gala.

At the Gala, Blueblood proves to be vain, pampered, and completely self-absorbed. He refuses to show even basic courtesy, expecting Rarity to cater to his comfort—using her shawl to cover puddles, opening doors for him, and paying for dinner—all while treating others with casual disdain. His cowardice peaks when he hides behind Rarity to avoid a flying cake, prompting her to finally lose her composure and denounce him as “the most uncharming prince she’s ever met.”

After this infamous night, Blueblood remains a minor figure, glimpsed briefly at social gatherings such as Sweet and Elite and the Equestria Games. Though still a symbol of Canterlot’s snobbish upper class, his character serves as a reminder that true nobility lies not in birthright or refinement, but in kindness and humility—qualities he sorely lacks.

41. #41Prince Rutherford

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Prince Rutherford is the proud and boisterous ruler of Yakyakistan, known for his fiery temper, blunt honesty, and deep sense of cultural pride. Massive, shaggy, and draped in gold, he embodies the strength and stubbornness of his people, yet beneath his loud exterior lies a strong heart and an unwavering loyalty to friendship.

He first visits Equestria in Party Pooped to establish peace between yaks and ponies, but his perfectionism and quick temper nearly spark war when nothing in Ponyville meets his exacting Yakyakistan standards. Only Pinkie Pie’s dedication and sincerity manage to win him over, reminding him that true friendship is built on effort, not imitation.

Despite his pride, Rutherford learns humility and trust through his bond with Pinkie. In Not Asking for Trouble, he stubbornly refuses help after an avalanche buries his village, but Pinkie’s secret intervention saves the yaks, leading Rutherford to honor her as an “honorary yak.” Over time, he becomes a respected ally to Equestria, defending unity among creatures and even allowing young Yona to study at Twilight’s School of Friendship.

Prince Rutherford’s thunderous personality, booming speech, and fierce loyalty make him both comedic and commanding. Though often ruled by emotion, his heart always leads him toward friendship and understanding. By the series’ end, he stands proudly among Equestria’s leaders—a yak whose strength comes as much from his compassion as from his might.

42. #42King Aspen

    Keys: Aspen

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

King Aspen is the wise yet proud ruler of the deer kingdom of Thicket, hidden deep within the Everfree Forest. His reign is deeply tied to the natural world—he acts as both guardian and voice for the forest itself. When the Everfree begins to encroach on Equestria, Twilight Sparkle and her friends seek him out for answers, discovering that he is behind the expansion. Aspen’s actions, though alarming, stem from desperation: pony and minotaur developers like Well-to-Do have destroyed large parts of the forest, forcing him to reclaim what was lost.

Despite his stern exterior, Aspen is not without reason. He allows Twilight and her friends to negotiate on his behalf, even though his patience wears thin when diplomacy falters. His deep love for his son Bramble often tempers his pride—when Bramble is taken hostage, Aspen sacrifices his dignity by signing a humiliating contract to ensure his son’s safety. Ultimately, his compassion wins out, and through an unexpected turn of events, the forest is restored and peace returns between the deer and ponies.

Over time, Aspen becomes a quiet but recurring presence across Equestria’s greater affairs. He appears at global summits and royal gatherings, always protective of Thicket’s sovereignty and wary of outsiders like changelings or Tempest Shadow. Flashbacks reveal his role in ancient battles alongside Equestria’s leaders, showing that his roots in the world’s history run deep. Though he rarely leaves his woodland realm, King Aspen remains a symbol of nature’s strength and balance—a monarch whose rule is grounded not in conquest, but in the enduring bond between life and the land.

43. #43Granny Smith

    Entry settings

Granny Smith is the sharp-tongued yet warm-hearted matriarch of the Apple family — grandmother to Applejack, Big McIntosh, and Apple Bloom, and one of Ponyville’s oldest, most respected residents. With her faded green coat, amber eyes, and apple-pie cutie mark, she’s living proof of the Apple family’s deep roots and enduring legacy.

Once a bright and adventurous young mare, Granny Smith helped found Ponyville after discovering the magical Zap Apples in the Everfree Forest. Her discovery led to the creation of Zap Apple Jam, drawing ponies from across Equestria and establishing Sweet Apple Acres as the heart of the town. Though she’s now hunched and slow-moving, her mind is sharp as ever—always ready with a story, a quip, or a lesson learned from a lifetime of hard work and stubborn love.

Throughout the series, Granny is both comic relief and emotional anchor. She’s seen everything—from fending off parasprites to refereeing buckball games—and she often steals scenes with her dry humor and unpredictable energy. Her stubborn streak shows in episodes like Leap of Faith, when she believes in a “miracle tonic,” or Apple Family Reunion, where she teaches Applejack that family is about making memories, not perfection.

Her long history also hides pain and wisdom. In The Perfect Pear, she reconciles with Grand Pear, ending a feud that once divided their families, and finally reveals the truth about her son Bright Mac and daughter-in-law Pear Butter to her grandchildren. Despite her creaky bones and fading years, Granny remains fiercely spirited—dancing, adventuring, and sometimes even scheming with her friends.

By the series’ end, Granny Smith stands as a living link between Ponyville’s founding and its future—a symbol of family, tradition, and the deep, enduring love that holds the Apples together.

44. #44Big McIntosh

    Entry settings

Big McIntosh, or Big Mac, is a strong, soft-spoken Earth pony of the Apple family — older brother to Applejack and Apple Bloom, grandson of Granny Smith, and husband to Sugar Belle. Towering, red-coated, and green-eyed, he’s rarely without his work collar and his signature “Eeyup” or “Nnope.” Though quiet, Big Mac embodies steadiness, loyalty, and quiet affection, balancing Applejack’s fiery nature with patience and care.

A pillar of Sweet Apple Acres, Big Mac handles much of the farm’s heavy labor — bucking apple trees, hauling wagons, and powering the cider press with tireless strength. Despite his reserved nature, his depth shows through moments of warmth and humor: comforting his sisters, joining the Pony Tones as their deep bass singer, or secretly cherishing Twilight’s enchanted Smarty Pants doll.

Episodes like Brotherhooves Social and Hearts and Hooves Day reveal his emotional side — from disguising himself as “Orchard Blossom” to support Apple Bloom, to being caught in the Crusaders’ love-potion mix-up with Cheerilee. His humility contrasts with his occasional insecurity, seen when he feels overshadowed by Applejack’s heroics, yet he always finds pride in his family’s bond.

Over time, Big Mac grows more expressive, eventually falling for Sugar Belle. Their romance, full of shy gestures and heartfelt effort, culminates in The Big Mac Question, where the two propose to each other and later start a family.

Through every season, Big Mac remains a symbol of quiet strength — a stallion of few words, great heart, and unshakable devotion to kin and community.

Bright Macintosh and Pear Butter are the married Earth pony parents of Applejack, Big McIntosh, and Apple Bloom, depicted mostly through flashbacks and references throughout My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Bright Mac has a pastel yellow coat, red mane and tail, green eyes, pale hooves, and a cutie mark of a green apple with a star. Pear Butter is pale orange with bright orange hair, light blue eyes, a curly mane and tail, and a cutie mark of a jar of pear jam; later, she wears a flower in her mane.

Their story is revealed in The Perfect Pear: Bright Mac and Pear Butter, born into rival Apple and Pear families, become friends as children, their friendship blossoming into romance despite family feuds. They secretly marry with only their closest friends attending. Though initially disapproved of by their families, Pear Butter renounces her ties to her family to be with Bright Mac. Their legacy lives on through their children’s traits—Applejack’s honesty, Big McIntosh’s humility, and Apple Bloom’s empathy—as well as a special tree they planted together, which grows both apples and pears. Bright Mac is also referenced as the source of Applejack’s iconic hat. The couple appears in various flashbacks and dream sequences across the series, including Going to Seed, My Little Pony Best Gift Ever, and The Last Problem, and their wedding tree serves as a symbolic site for Big McIntosh and Sugar Belle’s marriage.

Braeburn is a male Earth pony and a member of the extended Apple family — cousin to Applejack, Big McIntosh, and Apple Bloom — hailing from Appleloosa. He’s characterized by his amber-yellow coat, orange mane and tail, green eyes, and typically a brown cowboy hat and vest. His cutie mark is a single red apple, reflecting his family’s apple-growing heritage.

Braeburn is friendly, enthusiastic, and occasionally competitive, often eager to showcase his hometown of Appleloosa. He first appears in Over a Barrel, helping Applejack navigate a conflict between the town settlers and a herd of buffalo over apple orchard land. Though earnest and fair-minded, he sometimes defers to Applejack’s stronger opinions and decisions.

He appears periodically throughout the series, often at Apple family events like Apple Family Reunion, where he helps with farm tasks, interacts with relatives, and joins in communal activities. He also participates in Buckball for Appleloosa, representing his town’s team in episodes like Buckball Season and The End in Friend.

Braeburn also shows up in background or cameo roles in episodes like Pinkie Pride, Leap of Faith, and during the events of Twilight’s Kingdom when his and other Earth ponies’ magic is temporarily stolen by Tirek. Despite mostly being a supporting character, he maintains a consistent presence as a reliable, affable, and helpful member of the Apple family.

In The Last Problem, he appears briefly in Applejack’s group shot during The Magic of Friendship Grows, cementing his place as part of the extended Apple family legacy.
