Yumeko Jabami (蛇喰 夢子) is the main protagonist of Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler. She's a second-year transfer student at Hyakkaou Private Academy and the classmate of Ryota Suzui and Mary Saotome. Yumeko is a member of the family of Kirari Momobami that challenges her for Hyakkaou Private Academy.

Yumeko is a tall girl. She has long thick black hair styled in a hime-cut and burgundy eyes; as soon as she becomes thrilled, her eyes turn bright red. Additionally, she has pink glossed lips and red painted fingernails (beige in the anime’s first season). In general she bears a striking resemblance to her late mother, and her older sister.

She wears the standard uniform issued to female students at Hyakkaou Private Academy: a red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, white button-up dress shirt and black cross tie, a black and grey checkered mini skirt, black tights, and brown loafers. Additionally, she wears a silver ring on her left thumb, which was one of parents' wedding ring. Personality

YumekoExcited Yumeko excited to gamble Yumeko is shown to be a very upbeat and charismatic character who consistently attracts the affection or interest of people around her, usually making a big scene. Not only is she able to befriend those who previously disliked her, she is able to catch the attention of the entire student body. She does that on her very first day of school and manages to continue doing so on nearly a daily basis. Every time she notices an opponent cheating in games, her button gets switched to a bloodthirsty side of her, usually seen when her eyes turn red, and she frightens her opponents.

YumekoMaryloss Yumeko scaring Mary Saotome after the latter's loss Though she is usually friendly, she abstains from acting this way when she uses her perceptiveness to expose her classmates' cheating. She is capable of doing this even after only a couple of rounds of gambling, as she is easily able to decipher what strategies and tricks they are using to skew the game in their favor. While doing this, she may unabashedly condemn the other player and their ways, preferring honesty over politeness in such cases.

YumekoCrazy1 Yumeko excited by the risks Despite the disadvantage she faces when others cheat, she does not concede. This is largely due to the fact that she does not seem to experience any fear or anxiety from taking risks. In fact, it gives her a thrill. Because of this, she tends to take high-risk bets in gambles, even if she has nothing to rely on but luck. Though this can sometimes end in her loss, she is emotionally unaffected by the results; she simply uses her loss or gains as a means to further indulge her gambling habit. She also wants to make her friends feel the same rush as she does. So, while her pushing them into risky gambles might seem irresponsible, she actually means it well.

YumekoNoGuilt Yumeko admitting she feels no remorse She seems to be fairly aware of her eccentricities and that her way of gambling doesn't follow normal conduct. As such she rejoices when people support her or encourage her, especially those close to her, greatly valuing their friendship, albeit in her own ways. Despite the obvious joy and pleasure gambling gives her, Yumeko rationally understands that her behavior is immoral and depraved; having admitted that she feels absolutely no remorse or sympathy for the people she has defeated and ruined in a gamble. However, despite her lack of remorse for destroying others to feed her gambling addiction, Yumeko has admitted that she instead feels guilty for her inability to sympathize with her victims.

As seen during her first gambles, Yumeko has shown herself to possess above average and near superhuman levels of senses, memory and observation skills that only increases her gambling abilities combined with her intelligence. Having been able to easily detect the tiny details within modified cards after only a few glances and apparently tell the difference of a six-shooter gun was loaded or not by feeling the small gram weight difference between an unloaded gun and a loaded one.

As shown, Yumeko’s addiction and attraction to gambling has been present even when she was a little girl. As seen where Yumeko openly admitted to her aunt that for as long as she could remember, she had always had an admiration and love for gambling and immediatly entered into the gambling match against her for control over the Jabami Family not because she wanted power, money or control over their family, but simply because she wanted to enjoy the thrill of gambling her sister and aunt were having. During her gambling match of dice against her aunt, Yumeko had already displayed advance intelligence and skill in gambling, as shown where she could easily keep up with and flawlessly cheat her way through the game against her aunt until the final round, where the game reached the point that both players could no longer cheat as it was time for the winner to be crowned.

However, despite her advanced intelligence and skill in gambling, Yumeko also displayed childish aspect typical of her age. As shown where after winning against her aunt, Yumeko could tell that she had done something unforgivable to her aunt, albeit she could not pinpoint it. Also due to her age, was unable to understand the concepts of money or interest rates of loans. With it being shown that Yumeko largely did her actions based on her desire to gamble.

Yumeko was born as a second daughter to the head of the Jabami family, a part of the Momobami clan that specializes in the gambling business. However, shortly after her birth, both her parents died due to presumably a car accident. Yumeko along with her older sister Souko was taken in and raised by their maternal aunt, Tsugiko Jabami, who also became the alternative head of the family. Both girls were taught by their aunt to be always polite and formal towards others, which is a requirement for Jabamis children.

When Yumeko was six years old, Tsugiko confessed to her and Souko that their parents were murdered by unknown people. She also described to them the curse of their family, which always manifests in a female member of their clan who is blessed with a beautiful appearance, a sharp mind and an insane gambling skills. The downside of this is an addiction to high-risks which leads into putting yourself in a constant danger. Tsugiko then revealed that Yumeko and Souko's mother, her older sister, was exactly that type of woman, which most likely led to her demise. Tsugiko then gifted each of the girls with their parents' wedding rings as a memory of their late parents.

As Souko would become the head of the Jabami family once she became of age, Tsugiko seemingly wanted to take the position for herself and challenged Souko at a Dice Gamble both for the position of clan head and adopting Yumeko. Kabura secretly lent Tsugiko 8 billion yen for the gamble.

Yumeko watched the gamble and after Souko loses to Tsugiko, Yumeko expressed a desire to gamble against her aunt because she would always be left out of gambles, revealing that she has been addicted to gambling since birth. She manages to defeat Tsugiko after a brief Dice Gamble match. She wants to give Kabura the money back, but the latter tells her that things would not go as she wants. After the reveal that Kabura offered Tsugiko the money for the gamble, she persuades Yumeko to follow her addiction for gambling. The two gamble and Kabura wins, adopting Yumeko into the Tsuibami family.

Kirari Momobami (桃喰 綺羅莉) is a major antagonist of Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler and Kakegurui Twin. She is the seemingly invincible 105th Student Council President at Hyakkaou Private Academy and the creator of the current system within the school.

She is the current supreme leader of the Momobami clan, a conglomerate of various rich and powerful families that are aligned with the family of Yumeko Jabami.

Kirari is a very light-skinned and average height girl. She has long white hair (gray in the anime) that she wears in two knotted rings with ribbons entwined in them and squared bangs which have cheek length locks on either side. Her eyes are blue and she is shown with matching blue lipstick and blue painted nails (though she is also shown with pink lipstick in some official art[3][4]).

She wears the standard Hyakkaou Private Academy school uniform which is a red blazer with black trim on the cuffs and around the neck and it is decorated with gold buttons that is complete with a black tie. Kirari sports a gray colored skirt with patterns on it, black tinted panty hose and Hyakkaou Private Academy's brown loafers with black soles. Outside of Hyakkaou Private Academy, she wears a black kimono with her family crest on the back and two on the sides. It is decorated with a floral print on the lower half, with a matching obi and white tabi. Personality

Although Kirari is a refined and proper lady on the outside, she is in truth a calculating, manipulative, psychopathic individual with little regard for anything other than herself. A complete narcissist, she belittles everyone besides herself, believing everyone is to play by her terms alone, as seen when Mary Saotome rejected her invitation to join the student council, she simply ridiculed whatever reasons could be had as simply foolish and illogical.

Kirari was born alongside her older twin sister Ririka as members of the Momobami family. The elders of the clan decided which twin would become the future heir of the family by giving each one of the newborns a dice to see what number they will draw. The dice ultimately chose Kirari, while Ririka’s existence was “erased”, being forced to wear a mask and live merely as an extension of Kirari. While Kirari was indulging in the luxuries and spotlight as the family’s future head, Ririka had only quietly accompanied Kirari during family meetings.

Despite this, the twins’ bond was still very strong. In private, they would talk about their desire to escape from their family, stating that they never liked them in the first place. Although they had mixed feeling towards this decision, both of them came to the conclusion that they are the same, so they perfectly understand each other's feelings.

Kirari officially became the head of the Momobami clan at the age of seven, succeeding her grandmother. She was the dealer during the Dice Gamble of Jabami Family Dispute between Souko Jabami and her aunt, Tsugiko.

At an unknown point while Kirari was a child, she played a game of Old Maid against Rin Obami in front of the entire family. He was confident that he would beat her, but she saw through his cheat, choosing not to reveal it in order to reinforce how he was at her mercy, which was even more humiliating for him.

Ririka's face is mostly hidden throughout the series by a white, theatrical comedy mask that provides vocal distortion. As Ririka is the identical twin sister of Kirari Momobami, the two of them share all of their facial features as they both have pale skin, long platinum hair (gray hair in the anime) with bangs that are styled in a hime-cut, peach/pink tinted lip balm, and light blue eyes. Unlike Kirari, Ririka keeps her long hair down and she doesn't wear lipstick or painted nails, unless she is posing as Kirari.

Ririka wears the standard female Hyakkaou Private Academy issued uniform. A red blazer with black trim lining the cuffs and collar, a white button up dress shirt, a dark pleated skirt, a tie, and black/grey colored tights and the academy's issued footwear: brown colored loafers with black soles. Personality

RirikaSilently Ririka standing silently beside her sister. Ririka is a very quiet and stoic person who often acts as an observer. Despite her silence during the Student Council's meetings, she's mostly in step with Kirari Momobami. However, she does seem to be less cold, as she acted very shocked when Midari Ikishima gouged out her own eye.

   Past

Ririka was born alongside her younger twin sister Kirari to the Momobami family. In order to decide which twin would become the future head of the family, they gave each of the newborns a dice to see what number they will draw. As the dice ultimately chose her younger sister, Ririka’s existence was “erased” and the twins were “combined into one”, meaning she was not allowed to be her own person and was forced to become an extension of Kirari.[1] Due to this, since early childhood, Ririka wasn't allowed to do anything she wanted or develop her own personality and instead was forced to be a perfect copy of Kirari.[2] Because of this inhumane treatment towards Ririka, she developed the ability to “become Kirari”, which allowed her to become identical to her sister in both appearance and personality and being able to impersonate her and act on her behalf if necessary. Throughout Ririka’s life, she quietly accompanied Kirari during family meetings while wearing a mask.

Despite their harsh circumstances, their bond was still very strong. In private, they would talk about their desire to escape from their family, stating that they never liked them in the first place. She has light pink painted fingernails and is often seen with various different lollipops sticking out of her mouth and playing games (Pink Playstation Vita in anime, Nintendo Switch with red and green Joycons in live action). She has orange lip gloss on. Personality

Runa playing video games during Student Council's meeting. Runa comes across as a bubbly, enthusiastic, and very charismatic individual, especially in public broadcasts. Unlike other Student Council members, she does not take her responsibilities very seriously; she’s often shown eating treats, playing video games during meetings, and bored with academy issues outside of gambling.

Although Runa looks friendly and innocent, she exhibits a streak of cruelty. Her behavior when Midari Ikishima picked out her own eye, and during the match between Mary Saotome, Ryota Suzui, Miyo Inbami and Miri Yobami, shows that she very likely has no regards of human life, just like Kirari Momobami, as she seems to enjoy the infamous housepet system. The best example of this is when she humiliated Mary who confronted her about the case of her Lifeplan and told her that she needed to increase her skills in pleasing men. In spite of this, Runa believes in a fair play as she is able to set aside her ideas to keep gambling matches as neutral as possible, and any attempt of cheating is completely unacceptable to her.

One example of her personality is how she treats her classmate Ryota Suzui after he turned into a "housepet" due to his low social status within the academy. She is shown cruelly taunting her opponents during their gambling matches. She's also shown to be extremely egotistical both in and out of matches, often being confident in her victory. Mary also possesses a habit of mocking her opponents and laughing at them, especially when match seems to be her win.

After losing to Yumeko Jabami and experiencing the life of being a housepet, Mary, having no other goal in mind, became desperate to regain her status within the academy. Soon after being humiliated, Mary eventually loses her pride after she has a mental breakdown during a match against Yuriko Nishinotouin and falls into the state of grief and shame. After regaining her status, she seems to be no longer be as arrogant and cruel as before. Still, she is sometimes slightly nettled by Ryota's cowardice or Yumeko's reckless behavior; but she still cares deeply about them. She also developed a huge hatred towards the student council, and wished for them to pay for what they had done to housepets.

In Twin, it is revealed that her family isn't wealthy and she's attending Hyakkaou Private Academy on a scholarship. Her goal has always been to become a true winner in life, which is an important case even to her own parents, who were encouraging her from a young age to make friends with richer children. She takes a great pride in her intelligence and gambling skills, and she hates when people look down on her just because for her financial status. During the prequel, she is also noticeably less ruthless. Since Tsuzura Hanatemari is absent from the main story, Mary is shown to still keep her hairpin. During a meeting with her family, she was seen dressed formally with her hair pulled up into a bun with red and white flowers and a red kimono with a butterfly pattern on it. Similar to Yumeko, she wore a silver ring on her thumb and had her fingernails painted red. In Rei Batsubami's flashback (Episode 12), Souko was represented as a red butterfly.

After being hospitalized, her hair is being tied into a messy ponytail and she is seen wearing a plain white hospital gown.

As a teenager, she is seen wearing the Hyakkaou spring uniform and she initially did not have a thumb ring until she received one from her aunt Tsugiko. She was also seen wearing a red kimono similar to the one seen in the anime. ADVERTISEMENT

   Personality

Souko seems to be a very kind and generous woman, who takes no notice of ruling hierarchy in her family. She was the first person to treat Rei Batsubami like she was a human being.

After her mental breakdown, Souko seems to be unable to take care of herself, being forced to spend most of her time in the hospital bed where she folds origami out of paper money. As shown from Rei's memories of Yumeko Jabami's visit to her in the hospital, she was shown to have become completely unresponsive and simply folds origami using money.

In the past, she portrays the traits of a kind girl with her main concern being her sister as she wants her to grow up a happy child. Like Yumeko, she finds some enjoyment in gambling, but seems to be more prone to nervousness. After winning a gamble, she crumbles in on herself once alone, relieved that she had won her first gamble of her high school career. She is also seen on edge around Kaibura Tsuibami when they first meet, but later accepts her as an acquaintance.

As shown, like her mother, aunt and sister, Souko had inherited the Jabami’s trait of having excellent gambling skills. As shown where Souko had exhibited immense observational skill, intelligence and cunning during her gamble again her aunt for control of the Jabami’s family and Yumeko, with Kabura noting that Souko was an exceptional Gambler.

As shown from her gamble against her aunt and after Kabura Tsuibami took legal guardianship of Yumeko, Souko deeply loves and cares for her sister and one of her deepest desires to continue staying together with her. With the thought and risk of losing her sister being enough to cause her enough mental anguish to cause her to have a full seizure, as shown during her gamble against her aunt. Later, after Kabura took Yumeko and forbade Souko from ever seeing her again unless she could return her Aunt’s loan of eight billion yen that Yumeko lost against Kabura, the mental stress from being separated from Yumeko and the depression of not having nearly enough resources to pay back the loan(and being rejected from being given any loans or assistance from the Momobami Family) eventually contributed to Souko becoming completely catatonic. Profile

   Past

Souko was raised alongside Yumeko by their aunt, Tsugiko, after the mysterious deaths of their parents. Tsugiko was both the guardian and the acting head of the Jabami family. She scolds Yumeko for her formality, urging her to be more familiar with her as the younger girl has been taught to be more polite by their aunt. She then hugs Yumeko, after telling her she wants the girl to grow up happy.[1]

It is implied by Kabura Tsuibami that Souko attended Hyakkaou to earn money as the Jabami family's finances have been depleted after the death of her parents. After winning her first gamble, Kabura reveals herself to her and begins a conversation about the Momobami family and their plans to take over Hyakkaou. They end up bonding as two girls who had their freedom taken away by the clan.

Tsugiko tells Souko and Yumeko that their parents were killed by unknown people. As Souko would become the head of the Jabami family once she became of age, Tsugiko seemed to want to take the position for herself and challenged Souko for the position as well as taking possession of Yumeko. The two play a Dice Gamble,[2] where, despite Souko trying her best, after a psychological warfare initiated by Tsugiko, Souko ends up losing against her. Souko collapses for a while, during which Yumeko gambles against Tsugiko in Souko's place and defeats her.[3] Afterwards, Yumeko gambles against Kabura and loses, meaning that Kabura is the one who has control over Yumeko, much to Souko's shock. This has led her being hospitalized after her defeat, suffering a mental breakdown. It is unknown if she was expelled by the family after losing.

Midaricrazy Midari's masochism Midari is a character with masochistic and suicidal tendencies, which is stated obviously in one of the chapters in the manga in which she stabs her own eye out with an ink pen to pay off the debt to the president. She is shown to be very persistent and overbearing, intimidating or being weird to the other students, such as when playing a sadistic game of life or death with Yumeko Jabami. Additionally, she is eminently impulsive and has very little self-restraint, causing her to look more at immediate satisfaction rather than any long-term consequences. Due to the fact that no one wants to play sadistic games with her, she is desperate to gamble with anyone and constantly awaits to 'get off', as stated in a chapter of the manga, by creating dangerous games where one player ends up dead.

She is never concerned with money when gambling, carelessly betting large sums with no worries about potential debt. She does not even clearly remember nor clarify before gambling how much money she owns. Instead, she says she seeks out the risk of being harmed. Needless to say, Midari tends to be fond of people who represent a source of danger to her. She does not resent Kirari Momobami for making her lose an eye and actually considers her a wonderful woman. Moreover, even when she is not personally affected, she hates people who consider suicide but are not ready to go through with it, as seen when she rescues Ayame Nureba.

At the same time and as seen during some of her previous and present gambling matches, Midari has shown to be cunning and intelligent enough to make several subtle manipulations in order to sway them to go the way she wants. At the same time, she believes that studying a lot does not make someone a "genius", as noted in her criticism of Sayaka's behaviour. Midari also takes her role as Beautification council president quite serious although Ayame Nureba has said that she often skips Beautification Council meetings. She enjoyes her role as President mostly because it gives her the freedom to hold dangerous gambles.

When she reveals her true self, she takes off her glasses, brushes her hair back with bangs that nearly cover her right eye, and multiple streaks which go around her head. She also opens up her blazer and removes her gloves revealing two tattoos that appear on the back of both of her hands. These tattoos are shaped like the "Bami" symbol crossed out. It is also shown that she no longer has empty dark eyes, which now have a lighter color and visible pupils.

After she was accepted back into the Hundred Devouring Families, she takes up a feminine appearance and wears the female uniform. Her hair is a bit twirlier now, she starts wearing pink lipstick, no longer has glasses, and her eyes don't appear empty anymore. While serving the other members of the clan, she often did not talk as she was nothing more a a servant to her distant cousins and only providing important information to others if they asked. Unlike most members of the family, Rei seems to be very sympathetic and compassionate toward others, which is demonstrated when Rei protects a "pet" girl who is bullied. Despite being serious, Rei is easily confused, especially when being praised or when someone is kind to her and does something nice for her due her essentially being treated as a object or servant by everyone around her since birth.

ReiRevenge Rei wanting to get back what she lost When she was a child serving as a house servant, Rei met a young girl who treated her very kindly — Yumeko Jabami's older sister, causing her for the first time to feel positive emotions due to someone complementing her and acknowledging her for the first time. But some time later, Yumeko's sister lost everything in the forced family civil war and became increasingly emaciated, which made Rei furious and raised her will to avenge her benefactor. It's the reason why she behaves very well with people, especially when it comes to the weak who are abused by others. She never really felt that she had a purpose in life except for helping others, and was always bound by these invisible chains to her clan. Rei also is very intelligent, having conceived the plan to become the head of the Hundred Devouring Families by subtly manipulating her cousins and taking advantage of them only seeing her as a object to plan behind their backs to her advantage. She eventually failed, but that experience has changed Rei, and at the end of the day she was free, confident, and happier with her life.

As a child, since Rei's family lost everything to the clan generations ago, she was treated as mere livestock and was essentially seen and treated as nothing more than a servant or object by her relatives. She was never acknowledged by others and had to clean, and serve them. But one day, Yumeko's sister came by the estate and gifted her a dragonfly brooch; she was the first one to treat Rei like a human. Whenever Rei saw her, she was happy. But one day, she was defeated by the clan as well, which caused Rei to become enraged, and cut her hair. At that moment she firmly decided to avenge her, and get back her place in the family.

Ayame's desperation after losing Ayame is first seen losing a gamble and falling into debt against Nana Ootori. She plays again hoping to regain her money, but only ends up losing even more. Ootori states that her only option was to make money as a sort of prostitute for executives of a certain company. Horrified by that, Nureba sees no other way and goes on the school rooftop to commit suicide. She is confronted by Midari Ikishima who was apparently hanging out on the roof as well. She tells her not to do it, reminding her that it would make a mess and she'd cause troubles. Because Ayame is not listening, she proposes to gamble about her life. If Midari wins, Nureba can't kill herself. The challenge is for Midari to keep her from falling. So she pushes Ayame with her foot. Ayame gets scares and sees her life flash before her eyes. But in the last second, Midari sticks her hand out and Nureba reaches for it. Finally safe on the rooftop again, Midari screams at her for having no guts and still grabbing onto her hand out of human reflex. She leaves Ayame behind, who has to process what just happened.

Later, Ayame goes back to Ootori for one last game, since she doesn't want to sleep with some shady businessmen. Nana is cheating, however. Nureba realizes that she is about to lose, but luckily Midari steps in. Midari immediately realizes the game is not fair and proposes a hand knife trick game for the two to play. They need to stab in between Midari's finger as much as they can within a minute. Ootori starts and is fairly quick. Then it's Ayame's turn. Because she is so nervous and scared, she accidentally stabs Midari's finger. Nana is glad, thinking she just got into trouble for injuring the leader of the Beautification Council, but Midari screams at her to continue and stop being such a coward or finally kill herself. Ayame gets angry at her and decides she now wants to kill her. She proceeds to furiously stab between her fingers. Although she pierces Midari's hand a lot, she still continues. Ayame does this with death in her mind: since she knows what she would have to do if she lost, she basically fights for her life. Through all the pain, Midari gets infatuated.

Eventually, she agrees and they go there. They are greeted by Naoe Habakiri, the Vice-Beautification-President. Midari enthusiastically introduces her, while Ayame still doesn't like the idea of having actually enjoyed hurting Midari. Naoe is not pleased and declines Ayame as a new member. Midari proposes that they should gamble about that. Naoe agrees, but only if Midari leaves the Beautification Council in case of Ayame's loss. Nureba is confused since she hasn't got any money, but Midari pays her entrance fee. Now, Ayame has to gamble against Naoe if she wants to join. Quickly she ends up losing, but she has an idea and suggests to gamble more, betting Midari's social status. Unsurprisingly, Midari is quite happy and declares she will become the housepet of the Beautification Council, letting Naoe do anything she wants to her. Her most noticeable features are tattoos on the outside of her arms, neck, and thighs. She also spots freckles on her face. She wore the standard Hyakkaou spring uniform, with her shirt having an opened collar.

As an adult, Kabura's outfit consists of a long dark cardigan with a pattern similar to a mandala, a tied crop top, leather bell bottoms, and black platform sandals. She spots many accessories, including bracelets, rings, and earrings. She keeps her hair tied in a loose bun and has fingernails and toenails painted in black.

While visiting Souko at the hospital with Yumeko, Kabura wore an all-black suit and black high heels with her hair kept in a loose ponytail. Personality

Kabura is a tomboyish girl who at first seemed to have a kind personality, as shown when she sympathizes with Souko Jabami when they first met and becoming friends with her, but in reality, Kabura is a cruel and manipulative person, seeing Souko's face in complete desperation made her think on how it was 'the best face ever'. She also showed twisted perversion towards Tsugiko. As revealed by Kabura, much like with Yumeko, she was born with a mindset fundamentally different from the norm and has implied that she has always had sociopathic tendencies since she was little.

Realizing Yumeko’s abnormal skill and desire for gambling, Kabura manipulated Tsugiko and Souko into handing over Yumeko to her with the intent of raising her and nurturing her addiction to gambling.

Kabura's obsession towards Yumeko and her addiction to gambling may be filled by her own experiences, as the fellow "broken child". However, unlike Yumeko who appears to have signs of empathy and connections with her close family, particularly with her older sister, Kabura's main goals are just to simply relieve the boredom and act on her own desires, even if it means to hurt multiple people in the process. ADVERTISEMENT Profile

Kabura appears during Yumeko's flashback of her older sister in the past. A first year student attending Hyakkaou Academy, Kabura befriends fellow first year student Souko Jabami. Later meeting Souko’s aunt Tsugiko, Kabura lends Tsugiko over 8 billion yen in order to gamble with Souko for the title of head of their family. When Souko falls unconscious due to overwhelming panic and stress, Kabura watches as Tsugiko gambles with Yumeko, who takes Souko’s place, and is defeated by her. Realizing Yumeko potential, Kabura challenges Yumeko to a gambling match, and, should Yumeko lose, she would belong to the Tsuibami family. Yumeko happily accepts the challenge and is subsequently defeated by her opponent.

With Yumeko in her possession, she requests the Momobami family to not allow Souko Jabami to borrow money from them, as she wants to avoid any possibility of Souko winning back custody of her younger sister. She further explains to Kirari, the Momobami family head, that the Tsuibami family intends to raise Yumeko in an environment that will nurture her lust for gambling and further increase her skills, elaborating that Souko would not be a suitable guardian for her. In order to prevent Souko from influencing Yumeko, Kabura forbid them from seeing each other, and asks Kirari to forbid any loans from Momobami family for Souko.

She also exhibits strong admiration towards Mary and is inspired by her. She even named Mary her “her prince” in one of the scenes.

Tsuzura is also shown to be very innocent and naive. At the Coupling Party, she didn't understand the meaning of "spending the night together" and assumed it meant just having a sleepover. When Yukimi explained the real meaning to Tsuzura, she blushed furiously and felt ashamed. ADVERTISEMENT

    Profile

Tsuzura comes from a very rich family, which, unlike most of them, decided to send their child to attend public schools. There, due to her status being more obvious, Tsuzura was very popular among her classmates, something that Mary Saotome, couldn't understand. When Mary was still in the elementary school, she was invited to Tsuzura's birthday party. After witnessing how "weak" her mostly parsimonious parents were, by trying to convince Mary to buy Tsuzura an expensive gift just because she was rich, Mary starting to despise Tsuzura even more.

However, this was just a mask that was used as another step in her plan to get revenge on her older brother, who was disgraced by the Literacy Club. She successfully used her charm to get closer to both Tsuzura, and Yukimi, except for Mary who was able to call her out. Yua also very clever and cunning despite her age and innocent appearance, being able to fool most people about her lack of relationship with Mikoto and Shougou, and used her skills to manipulate Literacy Club's loss behind the scenes.

Her older brother is the driving force of her determination, and confidence, as she wants to risk it all against both Sachiko Juraku and Kirari Momobami, despite their reputation. It's Blackjack, opposing Tsuzura to the other two middle schoolers. During the game, Mikoto slips up and gives away that Shougou is cheating. After narrowing down the possibilities, Mary concludes that Yua has something to do with the cheating. Yua cries and asks that they don't take the nine million yen back. Mary refuses. Yua thus feels no remorse for her scheme. While the deck Yua shuffled did follow the Si Stebbins stack, as Mary pointed out; Yua had anticipated it and had switched up two cards in advance. Pointing out the wrong way of cheating, Mary's accusation is rejected by Kaede. The verdict is the middle schoolers' win. Yua becomes the Literary Club president. She admits to Yukimi that she's targeted them because they're in part responsible for destroying Aoi, her brother.

During a conversation with Mikoto and Shougou after earning the club, Yua reminds them that this is just part of what she wants to accomplish here. She's seeking revenge against Sachiko and Kirari too. In the next few days, Mikoto and Shougou try to maximize the money they can bring to Yua.

Mary and the former Literary Club members ambush Mikoto and Shougou, making them lose millions in Dice Poker. Yet, Yua still avoids Mary. Her sight is set on Sachiko for now. Yua gets hold of a housepet tag and forces Sachiko into a public match. Mikura, on behalf of Mary, also challenges Sachiko. Yua is thus on a three-way match, the Feudalism Game, against Mary and Sachiko. Sachiko maintains a lead, but Yua hangs in second place for long. Due to Sachiko's successful decisions, Yua believes she's cheating. She looks for how she could've cheated. Odds are drastically increased and Mary wins a round, turning the situation upside down. Yua finds herself in last place, one lost round away from losing the game. She's still convinced that Sachiko is cheating and publicly accuses her. Mary responds that Yua is just easy to read.

Mary makes a move that forces herself to end in second place but effectively makes Yua lose by earning third place. Yua owes Sachiko 120 million yen. She's mentally broken. Tsuzura, wanting to follow her vision of what a winner is, challenges Sachiko on Yua's behalf. Yukimi, Shougou, Mikoto, Mary, and Mikura join Tsuzura in the wager. Yua is shocked and rethinks of the events since she's visited high school.

In the final chapter, she's seen in a dojo with Shougou, Mikoto, and Aoi.
