Reaver is an ex-pirate turned industry tycoon and the Hero of Skill.

   History

Reaver was originally born in Oakvale and is well known in Albion for being an excellent marksman. It is said that he would capture ships by shooting the captain from across the water no matter the distance or conditions. The more impossible the shot was, the faster the crew would surrender. When leading the Hero of Bower Lake through the tunnels of his home, in Bloodstone, he tells the player how much he loves a good 'scrap', exemplifying his willingness to fight and competence in battle.

He is blessed with eternal youth and often remarks on periods of time which he has lived in. His immortality comes from a deal he made with the Shadow Judges in the Shadow Court. They sustained his youth at the cost of other peoples' through an annual ritual. Reaver's diary (which is found in separate entries throughout his "coastal paradise" in Fable II once the player has bought the house) states that this deal also caused the destruction of his own hometown of Oakvale, though he was unaware that this would be the Shadow Court's price. An entry in his diary implies he had a close relationship with a woman who was killed in the fire.

"Then I see him running madly through fields, the realization of just what price he has unwittingly paid hanging like a tragedy mask from his face. He falls to his knees before the town he called home-- now a dark circus of screams. Hers is among them, but he can do nothing to stop it. Fable: Reaver

Captain Dread, the most feared of all pirates in Albion, has come to an agreement with all other pirates that haunt the nine seas of Albion-they give him a cut of the profits, and he doesn't raid their ports of call. This arrangement, however, is utterly discarded by the young pirate Reaver of Bloodstone, who rebels against this policy by killing all of Captain Dread's envoys and sending their heads to the pirate king in a duffel bag. Outraged, the pirate king calls for a bounty on Reaver, only to be astounded when Reaver surrenders himself to Captain Dread.

While imprisoned by Captain Dread, Reaver kills Albion's most feared pirate by shooting an oil lantern next to him, which spills onto his head and gives him a slow and painful death. With Captain Dread killed, Reaver obtains the title of "Pirate King".

   Fable II

Reaver in Fable II Reaver in Fable II After the Hero of Bower Lake recovered Garth, they sought Reaver to complete the Hero Triumvirate that would defeat Lucien Fairfax, knowing him to be the Hero of Skill. Upon meeting the Hero of Bower Lake, Reaver demands that the Hero have a certain amount of renown before even considering an alliance. When the Hero returns, Reaver gives them a Dark Seal and sends them to the Shadow Court, with the sole intent of using the Hero's vitality as a sacrifice to the Shadow Court to keep Reaver young. This would also serve to weaken them for transport to Lucien for the sizeable bounty that the lord placed on the Hero. Whether or not the Hero actually sacrifices their youth or sacrifices that of another potential victim, Elizabeth, is up to the player.

Regardless of the choice made, Reaver is forced to abandon his plans when Lucien instead decides to claim the Hero of Bower Lake and the Hero of Skill by force, invading Bloodstone with an army of Shards and storming the town with Spire Guards. Forced into a temporary alliance of necessity, Reaver takes the Hero of Bower Lake through Reaver's Rear Passage, demonstrating his proficiency with firearms along the way. Once the duo join Garth and Hammer on Smuggler's Beach, they are beset by a Great Shard, which they destroy. Realizing that Lucien will hunt him down too, Reaver reluctantly joins the trio for the ritual at Hero Hill to summon the weapon capable of destroying Lucien when they are ambushed. Taken to the Spire by Lucien, Reaver is rescued by the Hero of Bower Lake, who confronts the power-hungry lord. Should the Hero of Bower Lake attempt to listen to Lucien's monologue in its entirety, Reaver will shoot Lucien for them, depriving them of the vengeance they sought for decades.

At the end of the main quest, Reaver travels to Garth's homeland of Samarkand, citing "exotic substances" and "uninhibited people" as his reasons. The fate of his smuggling operation (and its members) in Bloodstone is never revealed. In the legendary book "Reaver on Reaver", an autobiography, Reaver reveals that after Theresa transported him and Garth to Samarkand after Lucien's fall, he became disappointed in the place and eventually that he was responsible for Garth's death during his last night in a tavern there which led to his departure. However, the book ends before he explains what happened or if he was successful in killing Garth. Based on the description of the Channeler Sword, it's possible that Garth survived the attack. In Fable: Edge of the World, it is confirmed that although Reaver had boasted in the book that he had killed Garth, his target had indeed survived.

   Fable III

Reaver at court in Fable III Reaver at court in Fable III In Fable III, Reaver has returned from Samarkand and settled into a new manor in Millfields. With the rise of the Industrial age and with loose laws regarding employee treatment, Reaver has found an outlet for his greedy nature. Under the rule of King Logan, Reaver was granted control of the more benevolent industries of Professor Ernest Faraday when the professor refused to deliver his mechanical army to the monarch. Due to his profitable business tactics, including introducing child labour and cutting 100% of the employees' wages, Reaver became one of Logan's most powerful allies. Reaver runs the majority of Bowerstone Industrial, and is seen there when the Hero and Walter first arrive in the city. He quells a small strike from his workers at his main factory by shooting their leader four times, and explaining that any worker who rests longer than three seconds, whines, or breaks any other rule he may make up in the future, will be shot.

Reaver during The Masquerade Reaver during The Masquerade Page and the Hero of Brightwall attempt to infiltrate Reaver's mansion during a ball to rescue several captured followers, only to find themselves in a trap. Reaver has them locked in an arena and sent into neighbouring arenas to fight various enemies for the amusement of his guests, deciding on the enemy by using a device called the Wheel of Misfortune. After facing four rounds, the Wheel chooses Balverines, at which point most of Reaver's guests are revealed to be Balverines in disguise and have some sort of bargain with Reaver which he announces, after they attack the Hero and Page, that they are "even". After killing the Balverines, Page attempts to shoot Reaver, who, with unnatural ease, deflects the bullet with his cane. Page then mentions that her companion is the Prince/Princess, in which Reaver says he will "look forward" to collaborating with the Hero if he/she is successful in overthrowing his/her brother, and begins to walk out. Page makes another attempt to kill him, only for her bullet to hit the door as he makes his way out and escapes from Bowerstone. With his absence, Page and the Hero were allowed to rescue Kidd, the only survivor.

   If you purchased the Understone Quest Pack, the Hero is able to re-enter Reaver's Arena. There will now be two sets of megaphones on either side of the Wheel as well as a score board to the right. You then hear Hatch's voice coming from the speakers rambling about nothing, at which point Reaver berates him saying that they are recording. Reaver continues, saying that he has opened his Wheel to the public as a way to earn money without being required to be there. {C}

Main article: Reaver's Wheel of Misfortune A Reaver Industries poster depicting Reaver A Reaver Industries poster depicting Reaver In the second half of the game, after deposing Logan and the Hero's Coronation, Reaver acts as an advocate for the more corrupt sides of decisions you make. However, should you choose the moral path and reject his proposal, he will begrudgingly agree with you, admitting that the path you have chosen may be a useful one. It is unknown whether he actually believes this or is merely agreeing with you due to your position of power. Corrupt decisions proposed by Reaver can not be undone or converted in any way once you accept his proposal. Whatever decision you make, Reaver takes part in it, meaning he likely profits financially either way. Whether you decide to restore Albion to its former glory or not, Reaver explains the result of your decisions in short cutscenes (comprised of ambient shots of the area the decision pertains to) as if he is narrating a commercial. In a fashion befitting him, Reaver tends to take as many opportunities as he can to make himself and Reaver Industries seem as beneficial as possible in these "commercials" by taking exclusive credit for the results, either personally or on behalf of his business. This is even true of morally-good decisions, despite the fact that Reaver Industries are merely contracted to do this work under the newly-coronated player's orders using funding from the kingdom's own Treasury.

After the battle for Albion at the end of the game, Reaver leaves you a letter in the War Room. In this letter he states he enjoyed collaborating with the hero in the throne room in his/her trials and hopes he will host future trials. He then says he hopes you did well in the battle and that he would not like to come back to a dead city. He states that he had to leave for an important, but wearying, errand, saying perhaps he will explain it in better detail someday. Players of the second game will know that he is off to make his sacrifice to the Shadow Court.

You may receive a unique sword called the The Inquisitor, if you pre-ordered from Gamestop, that has a history linked to Reaver. Recently it has been made available for download along with other pre-order exclusive items and quests.

   Fable: Blood Ties

Reaver is featured in the novel Fable: Blood Ties, which follows the adventures of Ben Finn after the events of Fable III. Reaver serves as the book's primary antagonist after it is revealed that he is responsible for the creation of the monstrous Half-breeds assailing Ben and the beleaguered citizens of the village of Blackholm, at the behest of the warlord Droogan. When Ben learns that the leader of the half-breeds is none other than his long-lost brother William, Reaver's slave, he implores Reaver to cure his brother and set him free. Reaver readily agrees, on one condition: Ben must kill the meddlesome Page. Desperate to free William, Ben initially agrees and lures Page away from Bowerstone, but when he cannot bring himself to kill her, the half-breeds arrive and kidnap Page. Ben gives chase, but is likewise captured by Reaver, who intends to force the pair to fight the half-breeds in his personal combat arena before an audience. However, before this can occur, Ben's gnome companion destroys Reaver's means of controlling the monsters, which promptly kill their guards, escape, and charge towards Blackholm. Not the least bit disconcerted, Reaver leaves Ben and Page to deal with the rampaging horde while he invites his disappointed guests to stay for hot cocoa.

   Fable: Edge of the World

Reaver returns once again in the latest Fable novel, Fable: Edge of the World. He serves as an anti-hero, as always, but later assumes a purely antagonistic role.

Seven years after the defeat of the Crawler, Reaver returns to Bowerstone while the mighty Hero King leads an expedition to Samarkand to defeat the resurgent Darkness. Coming upon a distraught queen Laylah, Reaver comforts her, learning that she feels abused by the misgivings of her military advisor, Jack Timmins and betrayed by Page, who continues to support his view. Pointing out that her husband's concessions to his policies helped save Albion from the Crawler, Reaver proposes to help Laylah in any way he can, reasoning that while he stands to make a profit from aiding Laylah, his financial and military support would secure Albion and ensure a swift return for her husband. Gripped by depression at the loss of her husband and relieved at Reaver's open honesty, Laylah agrees, further admitting that she could use Reaver to counter the influence of Timmins.

Managing to get in the queen's good graces through his honesty and his supposed compassion, Reaver manipulates Laylah into ignoring her other advisors and passing new laws, including the cessation of trade with Aurora, a nightly curfew, and the expansion of Reaver Industries. Eventually, he frames her other advisors with a series of expertly forged documents that claim the frustrated Timmins and her ally, Page, sought to overthrow the queen. Once the duo are thrown in prison, Reaver makes his next move, quickly usurping the queen herself by bribing some of her staff while convincing everyone else that Laylah is still in charge. He even goes so far as to gain control of the Sanctuary, arriving there by exploiting the heroic blood that flows through him. With this ruse, he goes about imposing his own laws and shaping Albion as he sees fit.

   Personality

Reaver has been described as being "amoral," bearing no concept whatsoever of morality. He is narcissistic, egotistical, and displays a near psychopathic disregard for life, which netted for him considerable profits during the Age of Industry. By cutting wages by 100% and by extending worker hours in utterly unsafe conditions and casually executing those who resisted his rules, Reaver became Logan's greatest asset.

Reaver is known in Albion for his debauchery and sexual impropriety. This is shown through his taking of several lovers of both sexes at the same time (when in the smugglers' caves below his house, he admits to three: Ursula, Penelope, and Andrew). One of his diary pages in Fable II mentions his crowded bedroom and the presence of bedfellows, insinuating he hosts orgies at his mansion. He offers the Hero of Brightwall and Page a chance to join him in the bedroom at his new manor in Fable III, further illustrating his utter lack of respect for even royalty. This new manor, located in Millfields, is shown to have a secret bedchamber that appears to be a pleasure chamber, filled with sadomasochist apparatus. Reaver's promiscuity is used to highlight his hedonistic, pleasure-seeking, self-indulgent lifestyle and his overall lack of concern for others or their sufferings. This is best described by Reaver's voice actor, Stephen Fry, by saying about the character in an interview 'I wouldn't describe him as immoral, more ammoral, he doesn't even have a concept of morality'.

In Fable II, Theresa tells the Hero of Bower Lake that the man who brought about the destruction of Oakvale did not know the Shadow Court's price and lost his friends, family and everyone he loved in its obliteration. This event, and the possibility that Reaver once had a soft side, are hinted at in the fifth entry of his diary which explained he did not know that the Shadow Court would kill the citizens of Oakvale. In this entry, he also states that he had a lover in Oakvale, lamenting 'her' death; the diary entry starts with him explaining about a recurring nightmare about these past events. At the end of this entry, he describes himself as a different man, saying that the man he was was a fearful, breakable man. His final words in this entry were, "I am not he... I am Reaver. And I will sleep much better after this chalice of wine." This suggests he has changed his identity and even personality to deal with the pain of his past.

He also has both a limited amount of patience and a vain disposition about his appearance: He shot both a sculptor and a painter for supposedly getting his statue and painting wrong, and finally shooting Barnum because the picture he took, while a perfect likeness, would take three months to develop. Reaver is shown to be somewhat flamboyant and eccentric. His mansions, full of portraits of himself, are richly decorated in accents of black, burgundy and Reaver Industry logos (Fable III). Both his voice and handwriting are flourished and exaggerated. He is usually portrayed with a smug smirk on his face and wears an elaborate fur-lined suit and high top hat in Fable III.

Through his narcissism, his ego-maniacal nature, and his utter lack of respect for others, Reaver never shows any true signs of antagonism to even those who would consider themselves his enemies, viewing their attempts to foil him as almost amusing. This might be from how, due to being near-immortal, that most inconveniences to him are minor in the grand scheme of things, and anyone who goes up against him, he knows that he'll out live eventually. This is best displayed in his attitude towards Page, who he regards as a playful rival of sorts rather than a true enemy. This can also be displayed in his relation with the Hero of Brightwall, who he addresses with a friendly candor even if they refused all his suggestions. He also adds that he enjoyed working with the monarch, and looked forward to doing so again. Throughout different parts of Fable, he is at times portrayed as neutral, the villain, or the anti-hero. Whatever role he assumes, his actions, decisions and alliances seem solely motivated by want of personal gain, entertainment or his survival. He seems genuinely unphased and unconcerned about turns of events, merely making sarcastic remarks or moving on when his plans do not succeed. Combat

Reaver F3 Shooting Reaver has a considerable competence in battle, likely due to his status as the Hero of Skill. His height in Fable III exemplifies his skills and Hero status. In combat, Reaver often stands in one place slowly firing his gun. He supposedly hits every shot, though he does not kill with each one. When an enemy gets too close, or strikes him with a melee blow, he will draw his cutlass, striking at the same time and performing a flourish attack, performing an instant kill. While Reaver's damage per second output with his Dragonstomper .48 appears low, nearing Smuggler's Beach, he demonstrates the ability to fire several shots in very rapid succession, scoring a head shot and a kill on many enemies within a very short time. He remarks "You can tell them [your grandchildren] about that, too. Not that they'll believe you..." Amusingly, if you go up ahead, you can use a ranged weapon to kill all the enemies in succession (indicating that it was a scripted event) and Reaver will start his dialogue, pause, and then continue talking as if he had killed them all.

Reaver's Combat Skill doesn't seem to diminish with his age, 50 years after helping to topple Lord Lucien, when Page shot at him from close range, he was able to casually deflect it with his cane, and also is able of precisely shoot a man in a crowd protesting his cruel work methods, in areas that would not be fatal, several times. Despite this display of skill, Reaver seems to rarely enter combat in Fable III, often relying more on others to fight for him, mostly for his entertainment in his Wheel of Misfortune, whether this is due to him gotten used to a more secluded and industrial life, or because he has gotten bored with combat being too easy for him is not revealed. Fable Heroes

Reaver Puppet from Fable Heroes. Reaver Puppet from Fable Heroes. Main article: Reaver (Fable Heroes) In the Xbox LIVE Arcade title, Fable Heroes, Reaver makes an appearance as a playable character. He is one of the characters unlocked by default, the other three are: Garth, Hero, and Hammer. Reaver's weapon of choice is his trusty Dragonstomper .48, though it looks more like a Toy Gun than the formidable pistol in Fable II and Fable III. On the Hero Tile of the Abilities Board, Reaver can unlock the character Ben Finn for the price of 15,000 gold. Bugs/Glitches

In Fable II, during the Bloodstone Assault, at the part near the train tracks, when the Hero of Bower Lake and Reaver fight through Reaver's Rear Passage, if the Hero goes down to the lower levels and kills all the Spire Guards, Reaver will follow, however he will stay there for the rest of the Bloodstone Assault Quest. Just keep on going, and once the Hero exits the passage, Reaver is back and he detonates the cave as normal. In Fable III, when Page shoots at Reaver in The Masquerade Quest, her gun might disappear and the bullet he deflects with his cane appears to come out of thin air. During some of the cut-scenes in Fable III, Reaver's hair may be displaced for a moment. It will snap back into place after a few seconds. During this time, his face will also appear less smug than normal, but it too will return to its usual state after a bit. In some rare cases, the cut-scene in Fable III where Page tries to kill Reaver doesn't show up and the player is unable to move. While playing "Fable III" with another player, Reaver can be found standing near the balcony of one of his buildings prior to the Reaver Team Spirit Award cutscene. His body can be moved around Industrial and he makes an angry face whenever he is rammed into by the player. Trivia

Reaver is voiced by Stephen Fry. He has a small heart mark on his left cheekbone in Fable III. In Fable II, Reaver, like the rest of the three heroes, represents one of the three stages of morality, in his case, he represents the corrupt and amoral side, due to his narcissism, greed, selfishness and regard of all others around him as expendable. Reaver is also possibly based on the title character of Oscar Wilde's novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Incidentally, Stephen Fry played Oscar Wilde in both the biopic Wilde and an episode of the TV series "Ned Blessing: The Story of My Life and Times". Also incidentally, the actor who portrays Dorian Gray in the series Penny Dreadful is named "Reeve". Reaver bears quite a number of similarities to a certain individual in the real world called Lord Byron. Reaver, due to his sexual impropriety and hedonism, is similar to infamous writer, philosopher and sadist Marquis De Sade. Reaver's former career of piracy shows he also has similarities to "Calico" Jack Rackham, a Caribbean pirate known for his flamboyant dressing style. Reaver possesses five of the six Dragonstomper .48s. The last gun is randomly found in Fable III. It is never revealed what he did with the other guns but some suggest the gun he uses in Fable III may be another Dragonstomper .48. The name is appropriate, as he killed a fellow marksman, Wicker, who owned the Red Dragon weapon. Wicker challenged Reaver to a duel to prove who was the better marksman. Instead of duelling, Reaver just shot Wicker in the head, but did not destroy his gun afterwards. Reaver is bisexual as he seems to flirt with the player, despite their gender. In the caverns beneath his home, he says, "Penelope set the house on fire while I was sleeping ... with Andrew, as I recall." The first entry of his diary mentions that it is, "a shame Andrew crumbled to ashes in the fire, such a sweet young fellow. But such a heavy sleeper." (It should be noted that in the Bowerstone Cemetery, one inscription reads "Andrew the liar. Died in a Bloodstone fire".) His diary also adds speculation as to his sexuality. In Fable III, he also invites Page and the Hero of Brightwall (of either gender) to have a "Private Party" in his bedchamber. In Knothole Island (DLC), there's an item available called the Greaser Wig. When looking closely, you'll see that the wig is the exact same hairstyle and hair colour as Reaver's hair. Reaver has an obsessed fan in Bowerstone Market named Benjamina. If you enter her house, aptly named the Shrine, she has a large painting of Reaver and a unicorn above her bed. In the painting, Reaver has the same hairstyle as in Fable II. On a gravestone in Bowerstone Cemetery it says: Lived by a Dragonstomper, died by one. It is possible that Reaver killed this man. Concept artwork reveals Reaver was originally intended to have shoulder-length blond hair, wear a hat, wield two pistols and overall have a much more youthful appearance. This artwork even appears in the official strategy guide for the game in Reaver's summary as if actually used. Seeing that both versions of Reaver are seen in the guide during the summary and walk-through respectively, this was either a cosmetic mistake made by the makers of the book, or the overhaul made to Reaver must have been a very last minute change. He is very vain; on the occasions that you visit Reaver in his home in Fable II he is posing for a painting, or at one point, posing for a statue. However, on exiting the room, if you hang around after the door closes, you can hear him saying things like, "Do you really think my buttocks look like that?" or "Are you really suggesting my cheekbones are anywhere near that low?", followed by a gunshot. He has a ship, named The Reaver. Reaver claims that he wanted to name it the Narcissus, but there was already a ship registered with that name and shipping laws prevent names from being stolen by any means. To reave is, "to take away by or as by force; plunder; rob," common practices of a pirate; hence, his name, Reaver. Reave also means to rend, break, or tear; a reflection of Reaver's violent nature. With Gamestop's pre-order bonus, there is a sword said to be used by Reaver, and it gets bonuses when you act as Reaver would (e.g killing innocents, spending money and annoying people). Reaver has actively tried to kill all the heroes he's known to have come across, with the exception of Hammer. Reaver's Hero status, his immortality and his connection to Theresa and the Hero of Brightwall's mother or father (Sparrow, the Hero of Bower Lake) are never mentionned in Fable III. In Fable III, Reaver looks very different with brown eyes, a new outfit and a different haircut. Likely keeping with the fashion of the time, he has a heart shaped mark/beauty spot on his cheek and wears makeup to court. He also appears to be considerably taller than in Fable II, possibly as a result of another fifty years as a Hero of Skill. He seems to have a new weapon, a single barrel pistol, different from his Dragonstomper.48 He often uses French phrases when talking to the Hero. If the Hero does not have enough renown when he is first encountered, he will tell the player to "Allez-vous en." He also refers to the Dark Seal as an "objet d'art." In Fable III during the Masquerade Quest, he remarks "As promised: the pièce de la[sic] résistance... " In Fable III, there is a tombstone outside the fort in Mourningwood that reads "Charles Griffiths. He faked his death. He tried to flee. But Reaver would not let him be." In Fable III, it also may be noted that the Hero does in fact receive an invite to Reaver's bed, though it cannot be acted upon. Seeing as he is a unique character, it is not possible to be romantically linked to him. In Fable III, despite the fact that Reaver shot Barnum over 50 years before, Reaver still received the (apparently bloodstained) photograph. The same photo was evidently stolen by his eerily obsessive fan. When searching the secret room off Reaver's bedroom for Benjamina's quest, all searchable furniture in the room will contain condoms, except for one which contains a Summon Creature Potion. In Fable III, the book "Reaver on Reaver" states that during the final night of Reaver's journey in Samarkand, he entered a tavern in which it is implied he caused the death of Garth. However it is not stated whether he succeeded in killing him or if he failed and Garth survived the encounter. It is later revealed, in Fable: Edge of the World, that Garth survived. Reaver is always subtly annoyed when you make a good choice for the kingdom, often spouting sarcastic lines such as, "... Open to everyone, from the most impoverished genius, to the wealthiest idiot." However, he doesn't seem too annoyed, probably because you are spending Treasury money, and not his own. Inside his mansion during the final battle with Balverines, Reaver will say, "I once toyed with the idea of becoming a Balverine but hiding this beautiful face beneath all that... mess, why it would be a crime!" which, besides being a hilarious line, highlights his narcissism. Reaver is responsible for the death of Captain Dread. In Fable II, as you are escaping his mansion, he mentions killing a pirate king years ago, claiming the man wasn't fit for the title as he didn't have the right looks for it. He also states in his diary in Fable II "It isn't every day one murders a pirate king, and takes his place." The story of Reaver killing Captain Dread is the focal point of Fable: Reaver. It is interesting to note that Reaver has a secret room in each of his houses (Reaver's Rear Passage in Fable II and his secret bed room unlocked for the quest given by his obsessive fan in Fable III). In Reaver's secret pleasure chamber, a small rabbit can be found hopping around along with two chickens, one on the floor and one in the cage. It also has multiple used and un-used condoms. Reaver isn't just bisexual but also likes animals proven in his pleasure chamber in Fable three hidden away in his mansion is a small chamber with animals in cages and several used and un-used condoms. In Fable III, Reaver's Manor is always in a messy state, with condoms, food and drinks all over the floor, probably due to the fact that nobody cleaned it after his last Secret Society party, in the Masquerade quest. In the Fable III Limited Collectors Edition card deck, Reaver is the Queen of Spades and is seen on one half of the card with Barry Hatch visible behind him. In Fable II he has blue eyes, but his eyes are brown in Fable III. Besides the Hero of Brightwall, Reaver is the only living Hero in Albion, yet this is not mentioned throughout Fable III, nor does he mention it (however, Reaver never seemed too concerned and/or thrilled with the prospect of being a Hero to begin with). Reaver does not seem terribly worried about keeping his immortality hidden and often flaunts it (such as his conversation with the Hero of Bower Lake while escaping). And in Fable II, Bloodstone villagers can be heard saying things such as "My grandfather remembers Reaver, says he hasn't aged a day since." Strangely, however, no one finds this unusual or seems to care that Reaver doesn't age. Besides Theresa, Reaver is the only character who has (without being resurrected) appeared in multiple Fable games. He also has one of the most extensive and detailed backstory. Along with Scythe and Theresa, Reaver is one of the three longest-lived people in Albion. In Fable III, you can find several portraits of Reaver at his mansion. They are in a secret room at Reaver's mansion and show him during many different parts of his life including his stay in Samarkand along with one of him cross-dressing. In Fable III, after the Hero of Brightwall becomes a monarch, before meeting with Reaver and Page at Reaver Industries, an amusing exchange between the two can be witnessed in which Reaver asks Page how she can deny herself something so "delicious", at which point, Page asks Reaver to stop talking to her. Reaver's very name may have been selected to show contrast between him and the Guildmaster of Fable, Weaver, as the two names rhyme; yet the two characters couldn't be more different (Weaver acts as an "ideal" Hero, while Reaver is an anti-hero). In the Fable III DLC Traitor's Keep, it is revealed that Reaver Industries was formed from Faraday Industries after Reaver wrested control of the company away from Professor Faraday in a hostile takeover. Reaver's Fate card in Fable II is that of "The Thief" which ties in well with the meaning of his name, 'Reaver'. Theresa states in this card that the Thief "harbours a soul without a glimmer of light" which is very accurate - despite his cockiness, flamboyance and sense of humour, he seems to have no real sense of compassion or warmth within him. Reaver leaves his home behind in both Fable II and Fable III. In Fable II, after Reaver leaves for Samarkand, Bloodstone Mansion is abandoned and can be bought by the Hero of Bower Lake, although Reaver leaves a heated letter behind for the "usurper", stating he will kill him or her and take back what's rightfully his. In Fable III, Reaver leaves Reaver's Manor, referring to it as his "former home" while at court to propose the draining and mining of Bower Lake. The Hero of Brightwall can own the manor, but cannot bring a family. If you take too long in his masquerade party, Reaver will say, "Come on now, there's only 42 of them left." which is a reference to Stephen Fry's involvement in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy film, as the voice of the eponymous book. In Fable: Edge of the World, it is revealed that Reaver's walking stick is a swordstick. Reaver is briefly mentioned by Theresa and Gabriel in Fable: The Journey. In the prologue of Fable: Edge of the World, set 40 years after the events of the novel (just prior to Fable: The Journey), Gabriel is talking to the children about Heroes. He asks the children if all Heroes are good and a little girl disagrees, saying that while the King was a good Hero, Reaver is also a Hero and is a "very, very bad man". Gabriel's friend Katlan tells Gabriel to stop talking about such things, since Reaver is a very powerful man and word could get back to him. This confirms that he is still alive and in a position of power in Albion. Quotes

Second, anyone who takes more than a three second break will be shot! Third, anyone who breaks any other rules I have yet to formulate will, yes, you guessed it, be shot! REAVER, WHILE CONTINUOUSLY SHOOTING A WORKER WHO STAGED AN UNSUCCESSFUL STRIKE.

The Wheel of Misfortune! It's rather simple. I spin, you die, we watch. Really! [laughs] It's, it's a riot! [laughs] REAVER EXPLAINING THE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE.

Why! No less than the most unsightly, obnoxious creatures ever to contaminate this world! Super. REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, REGARDING HOBBES.

One almost pities those repugnant creatures. Then one shrugs and waits for the next piece of carnage. REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, AFTER THEY DEFEATED THE HOBBES.

Like the tales of my greatest conquests, The Wheel simply demands to be spun. What delicious fate will it deliver this time? REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, DISCUSSING THE SECOND ROUND OF THE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE.

Not a bad strike for someone afflicted with such rampant rigor mortis! REAVER ON HOLLOW MEN, DURING THE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE.

I do love to bring two cultures together...and see which one "dies" first. REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, JUST PRIOR TO SAND FURIES BEING RELEASED IN THE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE GAME.

Oh dear. Do you brutes have any idea how hard it is to find good staff. Still, one might as well enjoy the show. What's the use of a "secret" society without a little secret, after all? REAVER, AS BARRY HATCH IS DYING FROM A BALVERINE ATTACK, TO SAID BALVERINE AND TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, RESPECTIVELY.

"Well", I must say, you've made me out to be a somewhat "poor" host! Rather rude of you to dispose of all my guests! REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, AFTER THEY HAVE KILLED THE BALVERINES IN THE WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE GAME.

Oh! My dear girl! Why not stop all this bickering! The three of us can go up to my quarters and have a private party. REAVER TO PAGE AND THE HERO OF BRIGHTWALL, AFTER THE FORMER HAS FIRED A BULLET, BUT FOR REAVER TO DEFLECT IT WITH HIS CANE.

Albion is a kingdom on the continent of Hibernia.

Population: 6,500,000 Capitol: Bowerstone Government: Absolute Monarchy Ruler: Monarch (King or Queen)

Geographical Information: Albion is a very green land, bounded by rich seas to the west and south. In the north, Albion extends to the Ironwash River, beyond which lie the Edgelands. The extent of Albion to the east is not clear. The country lies directly north of Aurora(an overseas territory of Albion which may be fully integrated) and indirectly north of the South Islands, and is assumed to be east of the Cities of the West, west of Samarkand, and south of the Edgelands. On the opposite side of the unnamed world from Albion is the Eastern Kingdom. Ruins of the Old Kingdom dot the landscape, but most are little piles of rubble these days, being overgrown by vegetation and supplanted by modern towns. The most-intact ruins today lie underground, such as the Howling Halls. The darkest of all these ruins is Shadelight. The northern lands of Albion are extremely fertile and well-suited to farming, demonstrated in areas like Oakfield and the Shalefields. The Irowash Riverthat cross between Whitespire Mountains (in the Edgelands )and Echo Hills (northern Albion) separate this region from the more-prosperous southern areas. Towards the southern part of Albion are several forests, including Greatwood, Silverpines, Brightwood. Even further south of those lie the vast swamps and marshland of Darkwood and Wraithmarsh, where dangerous creatures such as hollow men and balverinesprowl. To the east lie the mountains of Albion, including the expansive Mistpeak Mountains, which contain the Dweller Camp. Mount Ruon, the tallest peak in Albion, has not been placed within a known mountain range, and its exact location is unknown. Large caves stretch underground, many being Old Kingdom ruins, others being natural, and some having combinations of both, such as The Hole, through which the Mistpeak Monorail line was built. A vast network of Catacombs lie beneath Bowerstone, evidenced by Fairfax Tombs, Lady Grey's Tomb, and the Gargoyle Trove in Fable II as well as Cesspools in Fable III, in addition to the extensive sewer system, the Hideout, and the town of Understone built around the time of Fable II. There are also several small caves and mines in the surrounding Millfields area. Several islands surround Albion. There are a few large islands, such as Witchwood and Hook Coast, but most are small and uninhabited such as Lion's Head Isle, with Knothole Island being a notable exception. Clockwork Island, the Godwin Estate, and Ravenscar Keep have also been settled, though the former two have been abandoned. In the far north across the Grey Sea lies the Northern Wastes, a sparsely-populated, sub-polar tundra consisting of the village of Snowspire and the abandoned settlement now known as the Necropolis. The most northern known point of the Northern Wastes is the Archon's Folly. Once Aurora becomes a part of Albion under the Hero of Brightwall, Albion's borders encompass more arid terrain. Its southern border is marked by a great door in a closed valley, one of many Auroran ruins from ages past.

   History:

The history of Albion is one that is constantly reforged in revolution and blood. The earliest accounts of Albion are purely legend, stating that it was a place of beauty and tranquility. Then three came from The Void: the Knight, the Jack, and the Queen of Blades. They became known as "The Court" and demanded that all men bow down before them. When the people of Albion refused, the Court burned Albion until the earth was black and the air was choked with smoke. The Court demanded obedience a second time, only to be refused again; as their next punishment, they raised the ocean into the sky and flooded the land. They again demanded that men worship them, promising to usher in an age of peace and end misery, but the few remaining people stood strong against the Court and refused a third time, so the Court twisted their minds until brother slew brother, parents abandoned children, and friend killed friend. Finally, the people of Albion bowed to the court. Thus the Reign of The Court began, where the few survivors (and their descendants) toiled for many years, erecting structures and monuments to glorify the Court. In the days of the Court's cruel reign, a humble blacksmith and his wife had a boy, William, who would become the key to Albion's salvation. Little is known about William's childhood, but as a grown man, he amazed many with his powers of mind, by which he was able to protect his village and perform feats that a dozen other men could not equal. These acts came to be celebrated as The Powers of Will. William eventually grew obsessed with overthrowing the Court and ending their tyrannical rule. One night, when he was consulting an old and mysterious tome, he was suddenly transported into the Void. Here, he met Jack, who was sat on a throne surrounded by ghastly figures. Jack attempted to enslave William with the powers of an ornate sword, but William fought back, stealing the sword and escaping safely out of the netherworld. The sword spoke to William, calling itself the Sword of Aeons, and promised to help him defeat the Court, but only if he were to offer up his soul in bondage. With the Sword of Aeons, William set off to find the Court. William scaled the peak of Ruon (Albion's highest mountain) and challenged the Court to combat. The Knight of Blades was the first to appear, and with the Sword of Aeons, William destroyed him completely. Jack was the next to appear. They fiercely struck at each other until William broke Jack's body. Although Jack was defeated, his soul retreated to hide within his mask, preserving the potential to return one day. The Queen was the last to appear. For weeks, their battle raged across Albion. Mountains were raised and valleys were formed by their mighty blows. Finally, William slew the Queen, freeing the people of Albion from the Court's yoke. They acclaimed William, who took the title of Archon, as their king. With the Court vanquished, the Archon unified Albion into a great kingdom. By this time, his powers of Will were so great that the world seemed to reshape itself under his wishes. Archon built cities in mere weeks, and marvellous machines ran on Will power alone. Through a thousand years of peace, Albion reigned as the greatest centre of commerce and philosophy that the world had ever known.[1] Transportation existed through the creation of Cullis Gates, magical portals that could transport users over great distances. Demon Doors sealed and safeguarded treasures, and could only unlock them by completing the door's riddle or test. Albion had reached its golden age, and its territory extended north into the Edgelands. Its economy traded with at least Samarkand and the Cities of the West. The cost of freeing the kingdom from the court delt a terrible wound to the Archon, the bondage on his soul caused William to waste away slowly and his spirit twisted by a festering darkness. Realising what would become of Albion if he let himself be consumed, William gave up the crown to his children and returned to the Void. William successfully severed the corruption from himself and sealed it within the Void. A group of monks retired from their thriving cities, appeared everywhere, and settled in the harshest place they could find, founding an abbey on a distant shore. This region became known as Hook Coast. Soon a whole community grew to serve their needs, and, in time, the kingdom built a lighthouse that housed a magical item known as the Fire Heart. The beating of its powerful pulse summoned a ship from the depths of time sunken for millennia with a crew of whispers. The lighthouse would guide vessels from its ports to any part of the world, including the unexplored lands in the Northern Wastes. The town of Snowspire became one of the most thriving cities in the North, and its Lost Bay served as the furthest port in all of the kingdom. It wouldn't be until the reign of the third Archon of the Kingdom that would witness the creation of the Snowspire Oracle. The Archon's children grew petty and cruel without an enemy to vanquish. They called themselves "Heroes" and used their powers of Will to terrorise the people. A younger William might have stopped them, but his battle with the Queen and his time in the Void had infected his body and mind with a wasting illness. Faced with this decay, William wrapped his body in golden mail and a royal blue cloak and vanished. With the first Archon gone, Albion descended into chaos. Three out of every four people were slain in the wars or died from disease and/or starvation. Meanwhile, the Archon's many descendants vied for power and the kingship. These new rulers were not as kind as the first. Each passing Archon, fearful of coup, brought fresh tyranny to Albion. A giant wall was constructed around the city to keep citizens in and undesirables out. Powerful weaponry fell into exitance and the Archon's personal guard, who were encased in armour from birth, enforced their harsh, paranoia-driven decrees: No citizens allowed out after nightfall, every citizen must appear when an alarm bell is sounded, and any who opposed the Archon's rule were killed along with their families. The people witnessed these cruelties behind masks that signalled their status while concealing their fear. Hook Coast's Fire Heart was sealed behind the Primal Demon Door. Five prophets who had predicted the kingdom's imminent destruction were charged with guarding the Heart. The prophets were encased in glass cages that both protected them from the beating of the Heart and kept them alive until they fulfilled their duty. The evil William Black cleaved from himself, developed within the void, and became known as The Corruptor. Evil and powerful, The Corruptor became determined to reclaim "his" throne, which was denied him by William's sacrifice. At the pinnacle of the kingdom, the last Archon demanded the construction of a spire, a great tower and conduit for all the Will power in the world. The spire would grant the kingdom's ruler a power so great they could bend reality to their will. Within Albion existed three great Heroes: Blaze, the hero of fire; Stone, the hero of the fallen; and Sol, the hero of light. These great champions of good had many followers known as The Enlightened. The completed spire created a rift between Albion and the Void, allowing The Corruptor to gain influence. The dark entity sent a single lieutenant, the Crawler, nto Albion, where the three heroes sealed the creature beneath the earth. Blaze, Stone, and Sol set out to close the rift by channelling their combined power into the void on the eve of The Corruptor's emergence. However, the force required to seal the rift was so great it shattered the spire and devastated the kingdom. The explosion caused centuries of civilization to be wiped out in moments and its citizens erased from exsitance. The only survivors were the citizens who lived outside the walls. The three heroes were crystalized into Willstones and scattered across the land. The tragedy survivors never knew this truth but speculated that the devastation was due to the last Archon using the spire to wish to end the corrupt and hollow world. After the fall of the Old Kingdom, the few villages that survived fell into isolation, and Albion plunged into anarchy. Without a central government, the settlements drifted apart and became self-sufficient communities ruled by a local chieftain or duke. Trade with nations beyond the borders became little more than a distant memory. The regions between the city-states, which would become the Edgelands, Greatwood, and Witchwood, contained numerous Old Kingdom structures and ruins. Hook Coast, however, survived due to the handful of monks who still inhabited the abbey and knelt along the coast and used their Will power to protect the port and its people. The population dwindled, and those who survived would wake each day to a darker world—distance bred suspicion, which grew into bloodshed. Villagers fought for food, land, livestock, and fresh water. Soon, they were even fighting over women of child-bearing age. Mercenaries sold their sword to the highest bidder and fought in a series of petty squabbles. If they did not like the price, they extracted payment by threatening villagers. The Fallow Wars had begun, an age of darkness and blood that would bring Albion close to extinction. Human scavengers poked through the ruins of the Old Kingdom. What they found they did not understand, and priceless artifacts were cast aside or traded as trinkets. Finally, the forest grew over the ruins, and it was as if the rich heritage of Old Albion had never been. The population dwindled, and those who survived would awaken each day to a darker world. It seemed there was no safe haven. Hope faded as bandits stole and murdered with impunity. The people, starving, scoured the land for food and fresh water, but as the years passed there was less of each to find. Crazed prophets preached that the end of the world was at hand. Then, out of the east, hope arrived in the most unexpected form. A bandit and mercenary by the name of Nostro came forth, pledging to bring peace and prosperity to Albion. In his youth, Nostro was a bandit and mercenary driven by an ambition to leave his mark on the world. He was, however, not without a sense of decency. He did not reach his full potential until he met a wise old man by the name of Scythe. Scythe was a wraith of a man, wizened and stern. He carried an ornate sword and shrouded in a tattered royal blue cloak and tarnished gold armour. He seemed to appear out of nowhere and took a profound interest in Nostro. Scythe saw in Nostro something more than a mere bandit and sensed that Nostro unknowingly possessed the power that all the first Archon's descendants shared. He hatched a plan: If he could properly guide Nostro, this bandit could achieve great things. He might even once again unite Albion and undo the damage done by William Black's children. And so, Scythe began to tutor Nostro in how to be a leader of men. Following Scythe's sage counsel, Nostro set about returning security and prosperity to Albion. Scythe trained Nostro how to use the magic power of Will. With his new power, Nostro forced peace on the warring people of Albion. However, any hopes of restoring Albion to its former greatness were in vain. Nostro founded the Guild of Heroes, an academy to train those who showed promise of Strength, Skill, or Will. First, Nostro commissioned The Chamber of Fate, but it is unknown if it bore the same title initially or was the original establishment for the guild. The guild began recruiting sons and daughters of Albion and trained them to be real heroes. The recruits shared a similar bond of lineage and used their abilities to aid the common folk in crisis or dismay. While the Guild was still taking shape, Nostro commissioned a number of other great creations. One of which was the Witchwood Arena, intended to be a venue for which anyone could settle disputes in public. At the same time, Nostro's blacksmiths forged a sword known as the Tears of Avo, patterned on reports of the Sword of Aeons, which had been lost with the Archon's disappearance. Nostro fell increasingly under the sway of a power-hungry courtesan named Magdalena. Eventually, Magdalena corrupted Nostro to the point where the Arena was debased into a source of popular entertainment and the Guild became nothing more than a house of mercenaries driven by a lust for profit and fame. These developments disgusted Scythe, who could only watch as Nostro and the Guild fell into disrepute. Scythe vanished, leaving Nostro to his fate. Near the end of his life, Nostro finally saw how power had corrupted him and how far short he had fallen from his youthful ideals. By then, his followers and even his wife had long since abandoned him. Isolated, he was easy prey for an assassin who slipped poison into his food. Nostro knew that he was dying, so he called out for his old mentor Scythe. Scythe reappeared and sat vigil with Nostro, reminding him of all the good he had done. Nostro died in peace with himself. With dawn's first light, Nostro was then buried in Lychfield Graveyard. However, Nostro's spirit, discontent with the un-heroic nature of his death, continued to haunt the world, longing for a death that would fit his image. Scythe disappeared into obscurity once more. Albion continued to grow and thrive, as did the guild. The Heroes who graduated from the guild were at times admired and feared by the populace they served. Many legendary heroes emerged from the guild and forged great destines and renown. Heroes like Solcius, Delfe, and Holdr. As for Magdalena, she went on to wed a series of husbands. Her children used their mother's connection with Nostro to establish heredity power for themselves over Bowerstone. The Old Kingdom followers of Sol, Blaze, and Stone, The Enlightened, survived the old spire's devastation and could see the promise of this new age. However, the leader of The Enlightened, a great seer, foresaw a time when the Age of Heroes would fail, and none would remain with the power or capability to prevent the inevitable return of The Corruptor. The Enlightened would continue searching the land for the Willstones of the three heroes and preserving them in temples. In addition, they would create powerful gauntlets that would house these Willstones to allow a worthy soul to obtain powers of Will without having a lineage of heroic blood. One century later, A trader uncovered two sites where Will energy was exceptionally strong. One site seemed to heal people who visited it; the other, however, inflicted pain and gave thoughts of blood-lust. The trader decided that he would create two opposing temples and collect tithes that people came to donate. Eventually, people actually came to believe in Avo and Skorm as real deities. The Oracle of Snowspire reveals to a select few that Avo and Skorm are "nothing but false idols". Despite the Oracle's statement, however, the people of Albion continue to believe, claiming they hear disembodied voices and see other signs from their gods. Two centuries later, A holy war erupted between the church of Avo and the church of Skorm. The outcome of the war is unknown, but it should be noted that both churches are present in modern day Albion. Now centuries after the defeat of the court by William Black, Jack of Blades had returned to Albion and possessed a human vessel that wore his mask. Although far less superior than his former self, Jack proved to be an unmatched opponent. After becoming affiliated with the Heroes Guild, Jack had travelled to Hook Coast on a quest, accompanied by two other heroes. Balverines had attacked the region and killed many villagers. A young man named Maze had just lost his parents to Balverines, and he was next to die. The two heroes and Jack arrived at the boy's aid. Jack slew the Balverines and then, as a sign of strength, proceeded to murder his fellow heroes. Maze became indebted to Jack and joined the Heroes Guild. The guild came to be led by a succession of Will users, who individually varied from well-meaning to cruel in their intentions. The Guild of Heroes eventually established a regime that only allowed law-abiding and virtuous quests. In the name of freedom, many Heroes revolted against this resolution. Two among them were young Will users, Weaver and Maze. Much blood was spilt in this short revolt, leaving the number of Heroes, already rare in a world of diminishing Will presence, at its lowest for centuries. Finally, the rebellion succeeded, and the civil war ended. Scythe returned to the guild and proposed Weaver as the new Guildmaster, seeing in him the serene and impartial man he would become. Under this new regime, it can be assumed this was the time that Jack of Blades completed his "Bloody Harvest" quest in the picnic area near the guild. Jack competed in the Witchwood Arena and became a "Hero of Heroes." Jack had disappeared for a time to continue pursuing the lost sword he had been searching for, for centuries. The guild itself adopted a simple code:

   1. Complete the quest to the letter.
   2. Ask for payment upfront.
   3. Obey the local law enforcement unless a Hero is on a quest. A famous heroine known as Scarlet Robe, who was said to have a connection to the bloodline of the Archons, got married to a woodsman named Brom, gave birth to a daughter, Theresa, and then a son, (Zaire) who would later become known as the Hero of Oakvale. When Zaire was a child, his home village of Oakvale was raided and destroyed by bandits on his sister's birthday; Zaire’s family had perished. Maze rescued Zaire and convinced him to join the Guild to be trained to become a Hero. After the boy completed his guild training, he built his reputation as a hero. He then embarked on a journey to uncover the reason behind his village's destruction, discover his destiny, and learn the true fate of his family. Zaire found his sister Theresa living in a bandit camp, now blind but strong with her power of foresight. Eventually, the he discovers that Jack of Blades is responsible for destroying Oakvale, killing his father, imprisoning his mother, and blinding his sister. Jack desired the return of the Sword of Aeons William Black stole from him centuries prior. Zaire and his family were William's descendants, so only they and their blood could reveal and power up the sword. While Jack achieved the sword, it was a shadow of its former self. Zaire slew Jack of Blades and dispatched the sword into the void. A year later, Scythe had called upon the guild to aid him in the Northern Wastes. Looming signs began to rise, and evil began to develop behind the Bronze Gate. Scythe instructed the guild to retrieve the Fire Heart from the Old Kingdom prophets and reactivate the Hook Coast Lighthouse. With the lighthouse active, the Hero of Oakvale could summon the Ship of the Drowned and voyage to the Northern Wastes. The Hero of Oakvale joined Scythe in Snowspire Village, where they consulted the Old Kingdom's Oracle. The two discovered that Jack of Blades had returned and would appear in his new form behind the bronze gate. Scythe guides the hero as he charges up the Archon's Shrine and opens the gate. The Hero of Oakvale once again slew Jack of Blades in the form of a dragon. With Albion once a place filled with legends, magic and heroes, the world began to change, and the commoners no longer needed them. The Heroes of the Guild became lazy and self-important. The commoner was placed second to a Hero, and because the Heroes were so powerful, there seemed to be no way of stopping their selfishness. This changed after the invention of the flintlock mechanism using the power of weaponry from Samarkand, the birth of the firearm. In the age of the firearm, the Oakvale Anti-Hero Committee was established and eventually revolted against the Heroes' Guild and burned it to the ground. While viewed as a positive event overall, it created incredible turmoil for any decent Hero. The Arena, where Heroes once fought for the people's entertainment, was used for execution. The Heroes were allowed to fight for their freedom but were killed regardless. The Heroes attempted to fight back, which resulted in a battle within Bowerstone, but ultimately, they failed. Once worshiped by the people in Albion, the great heroes came to be feared and hated. Two Hundred years before The Hero of Bower Lake, A reckless young man growing up in Oakvale discovered a dark and powerful evil, The Shadow Court. In exchange for eternal youth and immortality, the young man offered up the residents of Oakvale as payment. This payment included all of his family, all of his friends, and everyone he loved. When the shadow court invaded and destroyed the region, the nearby marshes engulfed the village, and deadly hostile creatures began to dwell in its inhabitants. From that point forward, Oakvale and the surrounding areas eventually became a bitter memory, and the region became referred to as Wraithmarsh. After the Heroes' Guild was burned, there occurred a ten-year period during which logic, philosophy, and engineering were encouraged. Around the same time as the destruction of the Guild, the Churches of Avo and Skorm dissolved, and people began to try to understand the world. Navigators invented the sextant and began to map the world accurately. There are clues, however, that they had already discovered that the world was round because there are globes or star maps in the Guild. Albion was also remapped more accurately, thus creating discrepancies between the maps of the Old Kingdom and Modern Albion. At the end of the decade, the Witchwood Arena was decommissioned, and the Westcliff Crucible was constructed as a replacement. Not long after the dissolution of the Chapel of Skorm, the Temple of Shadows was formed within a dark Old Kingdom cathedral. The original cult was a powerful and feared entity, but was disbanded after the loss of most of its members in a demon-summoning gone wrong. The new Temple of Shadows was recently established by Cornelius Grim, but never reached the infamy of its predecessor. The group was mostly formed from rich folk who saw evil as nothing more than a hobby, but the forces they worshipped were more real than Skorm. The sacrifices they made ranged from demented, to reversing someone's sex, to turning them into chickens, to pure evil (such as turning someone into a living Shadow), to simply killing someone on the spot. The group worked on a weekly schedule, with events such as Torture Tuesday and Poker Night Friday. On the other side of the spectrum, however, was the Temple of Light. A lone missionary went on a desperate pilgrimage and decided to wander into to a dark cave, expecting to find nothing. However, the man found the Wellspring of Light and a golden acorn. Using the pure waters from the cave, the man planted the golden acorn, from which came the Golden Oak, a tree that made all the surrounding lands fertile for a few decades before producing another acorn and dying. The man, now known as Albert the Luminous, founded the Temple of Light and from the Golden Oak, the small farming community of Oakfield was born. A few Heroes and their families managed to survive the destruction of the Guild. Among them is a direct descendant of Zaire, the Hero of Oakvale. This young Hero would become known as Xalvador the Hero of Southcliff, who would overthrow the dictator of Southcliff and save the citizens. Eventually, Xalvador would have his children, and his descendants (Rose and Sparrow) would come to live in Bowerstone Old Town. Two hundred years after Oakvale turned into Wraithmarsh; No man alive remembers the night the guild burned, and now it lies forgotten. The fate of Albion would once again come to rest in the hands of an unlikely Hero from the ancient bloodline, whose path to greatness began on the heels of tragedy. The mayor of Bowerstone, Lucien Fairfax, would become obsessed with his vision to resurrect his family and rebuild the world as he saw fit. His mission was to locate and reconstruct the Old Kingdom's tattered spire. With Albion now very scarce on heroes, he searched for descendants of heroic lineage. Two orphans, Rose and Sparrow, living in his city were indeed descendants of heroes. They were also descendants of the Old Kingdom's archons. These heroes had no use to Lucien and only posed a threat to his plan. Lucien killed Rose and wounded Sparrow. With the help of her very old ancestor (Theresa) Sparrow became the Hero of Bower Lake, destroyed Lucien's dream, and killed him just as he completed the new spire. Inspired by a vision from Theresa, Sparrow, the Hero of Bower Lake, was able to unite Albion under her monarchy, with Bowerstone as the nation's capital. Castle Fairfax went under reconstruction and renamed Bowerstone Castle. This period saw a remarkable rise in technology and industry that extended into the northern Edgelands. Sparrow eventually mothered two children, Logan Falkov and Sarabi Falkov. Fifty years after the Hero of Bower Lake defeated Lucien, she passed away and left Albion's throne to her oldest child, Logan, who ushered in a new era marked by major technological advancements in production and capitalism. Ecological change was most prominent in Albion during this Industrial Age. Forests and rivers have dwindled and replaced by factory-strewn urban communities. Whatever green remained were heavily dotted by military forts and posts. The deforestation and urbanization led to the endangerment of many native species in Albion, most notably the Trolls, whom King Logan himself have successfully hunted down and eradicated. Others, like the Hobbes, fought human encroachment with more ferocity, even utilizing never before seen terrorist tactics such as the bombing of the monorail system at The Hole. Other nations outside of Albion were also colonized, most notably Mistpeak, Aurora, and Samarkand. The urbanization itself led to the creation of a class system that differentiated the poor and the rich, as well as the city and rural dwellers. Such a class system led to class warfare as many of the lower classes revolted against capitalists, while the educated classes salvaged what great art and literature were left from the Age of Enlightenment. Criminality have also changed. The decrease of the frontier extinguished highwaymen who depended on them. They were replaced by either mercenaries or criminal gangs that thrived better in urban settings. Magic, and the people who knew how to use it, have also diminished during this era. Prior to the ascension of Sarabi Falkov who would come to be known as the Hero of Brightwall, only a select few, most notably in the criminal element, could use it. Although Guild Seals still existed, magical users required assistance from Magic Objectssuch as Gauntlets and Potions to unleash spells that would have been considered basic before the Industrial Age. These objects, in turn, substituted the more nuanced system of magic like Strength and Slow Time. However, innovation in terms of magic did occur; during this time, morphing Hero Weapons first appeared. With the new spire once again able to reach into the fabrics of the Void, the ancient evil of The Corruptor had spilt from the Void and awoke the old lieutenant known as The Night Crawler. The Crawler and its darkness began to terrorize and slaughter the citizens of Aurora. King Logan travelled to Aurora, where this creature attacked him and his army. While many of his soldiers perished, King Logan survived but was significantly wounded. The Auroran, Kalin, and her surviving people mended the king back to health. When Logan returned to Albion, Theresa appeared and granted him a vision of Albion's coming destruction from the Crawler. Out of fear of having less than a decade, Logan became ruthless, and his tyranny accelerated the Industrial Revolution. Great machines brought wealth to the kingdom, creating an elite army at the cost of strict laws and people and children working in the factories. Logan hired Reaver and gave him control of the industrial district of Bowerstone. Any citizen who opposed the crown or disobeyed the factory rules were executed. Most of Albion became discontent with Logan's government, pushing various citizens into poverty and starvation. The king's sibling, Sarabi The Hero of Brightwall, led the rebellion against Logan's tyranny and overthrew him as monarch. Only then does Sarabi, the new Queen, understand the risk and slay the Crawler at an incredibly high cost.

   Demography of Albion:

Civilization is spread across the lands of Albion, such as Oakfield and Brightwall, with many of the settlements concentrated on the western coast, including Westcliff, Southcliff, Bloodstone, and the great capital city of Bowerstone. Coastlines with more limited communities included Rookridge, Oakvale, and Driftwood, while a number of settlements can be found on the islands near Albion, such as Snowspire, Knothole Glade, Clockwork Island, and the settlement found on Knothole Island. The northern part of the mainland seems to be more cultivated for use of farming, as seen from the small community of Oakfield. Further north, the Dwellers of the Edgelands make their summer camp in the fertile lands of Shalefields.

Society of Albion: The land of Albion during the time of Zaire The Hero of Oakvale, is notably devoid of a strong system of government and laws, leading to a laissez-faire attitude for most aspects of society. Homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and polygamy are universally legal and widely accepted. Extramarital affairs, however, are taboo and the source of much contention among married couples. There is also a law that does not allow you to enter a town with unsheathed weapons as you are deemed a threat and hazard. This particular law is heavily enforced in Bowerstone; there, people are not even allowed to carry a weapon on their person. Conversely, this law is completely void in Knothole Glade. Obviously, murder is considered incredibly evil as are breaking into a house, vandalism, theft, or attacking innocent civilians and guards, but the worst punishment is a fine and being thrown out of town at the same time, at least for some Heroes. There are also prostitutes in Albion, but it isn't explicit as to whether this is legal or not. In the time Sparrow the Hero of Bower Lake, Albion still lacks a central ruler and is divided into small city-states that dot the landscape. Major city-states include, but are not limited to, Bowerstone, Southcliff, Bloodstone, Westcliff, and Oakfield. They usually have a local ruler like a Mayor, Duke, or Chief/Chieftain. There have been times when Albion was united under the rulership of a King or Queen; such as modern day Albion. No elections are held, for Monarch; these positions are usually given to people with the most wealth or property, to those who are the most famous, or passed down generationally. By the rule of King Logan, Albion is united, and its government has become far more centralized. The position of King and Queen has been restored by Sparrow the Hero of Bower Lake, with true political power not seen since the Archons. This unity has caused great advances in technology, exploration, and scientific research. The country now possesses a standing army which maintains order, but more remote areas and roads still remain lawless, being too dangerous to patrol. During the first year of the rule of Sarabi the Hero of Brightwall, the southern territory of Aurora becomes part of the Kingdom of Albion. However, it is unclear whether Aurora is added as an equal part of the kingdom, or exploited as a colony for its resources.

   Culture of Albion:

Albion is extremely diverse in terms of culture, with large industrious and wealthy cities such as Bowerstone, towns where smuggling and prostitution is a common occurrence, like Bloodstone and Westcliff, and idyllic villages like Oakvale and Oakfield. Travelers are common occurrences in areas like Driftwood and Bower Lake respectively. Perhaps, Albion's culture varies more overseas, in areas like Aurora, The Northern Wastes, Knothole Island, and Knothole Glade which have developed highly-unique cultures due to total isolation from mainland Albion and its inhabitants. Some areas of mainland Albion have also become isolated, like the Dweller Camp in Mistpeak. Areas of high wealth tend to be estranged from other areas, such as Millfields, Bowerstone North, Fairfax Castle and, most notoriously, Clockwork Island.

   Economy of Albion:

The economy is completely unregulated and based primarily on agriculture, trade, and services, with little industrial activity until Albion's Industrial Revolution. The currency of Albion is the gold coin, and nearly every trade-able item in the land has a "national standard" of what each item is worth in gold. It should be noted, however, that items are rarely sold for their exact worth, especially in taverns and the Guild gift shop, so be careful when getting rid of things that one may find useful later on. During the Industrial Revolution, mass production through factories became the most dominant economy. As more people moved into the cities, lodging houses and apartments became a lucrative endeavor for many entrepreneurs. Trade with other countries were also further developed through the use of steam-powered ships and monorail systems.

Religion of Albion: During the time of Zaire, religion was based upon the belief of two deities: Avo and Skorm. Avo is a benevolent deity, who is worshiped in a temple in Witchwood through the giving of tithes. Avo rewards those who make large donations with youth, titles, and even weaponry. Skorm, on the other hand, is a devil-like deity who demands human sacrifices in exchange for gold, temporal power, and weaponry. The Chapel of Skorm is located in Darkwood. The two deities are said to be nothing more than false idols by the Oracle of Snowspire. However, the Oracle also hints the existence of more real gods, saying that the balvorn existed when gods and demons were the primary force and that there was a war of the gods in which krakens were created. In addition, Jack of Blades compares his power to that of the gods and demons that the people of Albion feared and worshiped. During the time of Sparrow (The Hero of Bower Lake), religion follows the Temples of Light and Shadows. Like its predecessor, the Temple of Light accepts donations of Gold and rewards the player with goodness, youth, and even a weapon of great power (The Rising Sun). However, they are granted an amount of general experience depending on the amount you are donating and the time. Donating at the Sun's Zenith (mid-day) will give you more favor. On the other hand, the Temple of Shadows requires human sacrifice for evil, gold, and another weapon of great power (The Maelstrom). During the time of Logan’s reign, worship seems to have taken secondary precedence in the face of the Industrial Revolution and the relentless tyranny of King Logan. However, within Mourningwood, one can find the remains of a temple dedicated to an unknown force known as the Dark Sanctum. Within a few years of Logan’s reign, a man named Lesley restored the temple to its glory. As it was with Cornelius Grim's Temple of Shadows, the worshipers in the Dark Sanctum participate in twisted rituals and sacrifices, some of which incur great rewards.

   owerstone Market

Bowerstone Market is a bustling, thriving hub of commerce for the entire city of Bowerstone, if not the whole of Albion. Guards patrol this area regularly. The centre of Bowerstone Market, the Town Square, features a clock tower in the centre. Sovereign Road is located to the west of the Town Square, and leads to Fairfax Gardens. Old Town Road is located north of the Town Square, and leads to Bowerstone Old Town. Bower Bridge is located east of the Town Square, and leads to the Millfields gate leading to Bower Lake. It encompasses the area from the entrance gate from Bower Lake, up to the Town Square. The Wharf is located under the Town Square end of Bower Bridge. The docks here are where a lot of the trade into Albion arrives through, and where some 'dodgy' folks can be found. The market is the centre of commerce in the region, and therefore has an average-to-high standard of economy. All manner of items can be bought from the numerous stalls and shops, ranging from food, potions and weapons to augments, furniture, clothes and books. The stalls are open from 6:00am to 8:00pm and the shops are open from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Law is handled by the Albion Guard. There are regular patrols through the area. During night-time, these patrols increase, and additional stationary guards are placed at the main entrances to the area. The larger shops are fitted with steam-powered alarms that are likely to activate in the event of a break-in or theft during the night-time. Millfields Gate is the main entrance to the city, and the inner square is adorned with a statue of King Logan. A few jail cells can be found within the walls here.

Bowerstone Industrial is the main slums of Bowerstone, and is full of factories and open sewers. The Bowerstone Resistance resides in the sewers of Industrial, and the main factory for Reaver Industries can be found in this district. This area is a severely poverty stricken area and therefore many of the people, including the children, are beggars or factory workers. Reaver Industries investments serve to bring income to the city, but due to political corruption little of this ever sees its way to the workers of this district. Crime, prostitution and alcohol abuse are widespread. The district is patrolled by the guards of the Royal Army, with the exception of the docks area, which serves as a compound for the Queen’s Royal Guard and Logan’s Guard. The River Bower flows along a purpose-built canal channel through the centre of the district. Alongside the river lie the major factories, the largest of which belongs to Reaver Industries. This can be found between the Market road and the road to the Old Quarter, and an entrance to the Sewers can be found underneath the large crane in front of the factory. The Riveter's Rest tavern can be found on the opposite side of the river to Reaver's factory, next to a small canal spur that holds another entrance to the Sewers. Old Quarter Road is situated between Reaver's factory and the swingbridges. On one side of the road, a large hedge surrounds the Bowerstone Shelter and Orphanage. On the other side sits a row of dilapidated houses.

During the reign of Sarabi, the Queen chose to sustain child labor, at the displeasure of many citizens. So, many children work in the factories within Bowerstone Industrial. an Orphanage and shelter cares for those who are homeless and unemployed.
