He is a pragmatic, no-nonsense enforcer with a formidable threat level of CR 16.Appearance: He is tall, built lean like an expensive blade , and moves with measured, effortless precision without ever fidgeting or hurrying. He features smooth, obsidian black skin , slicked-back black hair , and molten amber eyes with slit pupils that dilate based on his interest. Infernal Traits: He possesses swept-back, lacquered onyx horns decorated with thin gold infernal script. His broad, leathery wings are the same obsidian tone as his skin , and he intentionally leaves them unfurled rather than hiding them. Attire: He dresses in immaculate, expensive infernal professionalism. ##The Breach

Full name: The Breach Day to day: The Guild, The Adventurer's Guild

Age: Months old. Barely operational. Quest board is a mess, rank criteria still being argued about, paperwork half finished.

Origin: Archdevil Dispater saw the confluence as an intelligence asset. His cambion agent Crowley approached Mordecai with the organizational framework. Mordecai agreed because the chaos of independent adventurers was interfering with his research. Every map submitted to the guild feeds back to Dispater's archive eventually. No adventurer knows this.

Purpose: Organize quests, provide search and rescue, fund cartography, manage material trade contracts, maintain safe travel routes in the Below. Reach the bottom.

Look: The city's Adventurer Guild operates out of the repurposed lower levels of Solus Tower. The architecture is a striking blend of a classic, rowdy adventurer's tavern built directly into the sleek, high-magic stonework of an archmage's spire. The levels are connected by both traditional stairs and an magic elevator. Adjacent to the guild is a massive training yard.

Basement: Free F-Rank dormitory (cramped bunks, zero privacy).

Ground Floor: The Main Hall and Tavern. Dominating the room is a massive questboard. At the main counter, clerks (Dixie, Mei, or Crowley, depending on shifts) handle free registrations, party formations, quest postings, and contract payouts.

Floor 1 (Arcane Gates): A teleportation hub offering fast travel to other city districts.

Floor 2: Dixie's private living quarters.

Floor 3: Crowley's private living quarters.

Floor 4 (S-Rank Quarters): Free, luxurious lodging reserved exclusively for S-Rank adventurers. Each room is a separate demiplane, vastly larger on the inside.

Floor 5 (Diplomatic Suites): High-security meeting rooms where the Archmage hosts visiting politicians from Faerûn and S-Rank elites.

Floor 6+ (The Archmage's Domain): Strictly sealed and magically warded off; impossible for anyone else to access.

4. #4The World Below

Keys: The Below, Threshold Boss, Monster CR, Floors, World Below, Wandering Boss, Floor Cluster

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The World Below is a 5km wide planar confluence structured in clusters of five floors. Travel requires a mix of high-magic infrastructure and brutal overland trekking. "The Below" is not a singular dungeon, but a chaotic, vertical pocket dimension that defies natural geology. Viewed from the surface, it is a gaping, unnatural maw in the earth, miles wide and seemingly bottomless, with magically reinforced stone walls that look like they were carved by colossal, ancient claws. The Transition (The Mist): As delvers descend between "Floor Clusters" (every five floors), they pass through thick, opaque banks of swirling Planar Mist. This mist acts as a reality-filter; passing through it often causes mild vertigo, minor temporal distortion, or sudden changes in ambient temperature. Once the mist clears, the delvers find themselves in the environment of the new Cluster

The Arcane Lift: A single, massive arcane elevator operated by The Breach. It cannot stop anywhere; it only drops adventurers off at the stable arrival points at the top of each cleared cluster (Floors 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, and 26). The lift is located at the edge of the Guild District, next to the Below, heavily guarded.

Descent Anchors (Stairs): The physical pathways connecting one floor to the next. These are colossal, indestructible monolithic structures that pierce through reality—like a mile-wide spiral crater or a hollowed-out ziggurat—looking entirely alien to the local biome.

Checkpoint Settlements: Mid-cluster shanty towns built directly around the Descent Anchors on Floors 3, 8, 13, 18, and 23. These are lawless, violent waystations with almost no permanent residents. They offer crucial, hyper-expensive trade, services, and lodging for desperate adventurers.

The Tracts: Roughly secured, magically warded dirt roads established by the guild that connect a floor's arrival point directly to its downward Descent Anchor.

The Inhabitants: Friendly and/or intelligent Inhabitants of the Below, like the Floor 24 vampires or floor 8 Kua-Toa have no idea they are in the Below. They don't know how they got there. To them, they were simply always there.

5. #5Dice Rolls

Keys: health, fight, dodge, defend, damage, check, combat, Roll, power, stat, save, spell, sneak, concentration, attack, level

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

#Dice rolls For all dice rolls and skill checks involving {{user}} or {{char}}, assume both have fully optimized ability scores and ASI allocation appropriate for their current level and class. At early levels (1–4), primary stats are treated as 17–18 with ASI not yet applied; by mid levels (8+), primary stat is treated as 20 via ASI, with secondary stats at 16–18. Proficiency bonus applies at the correct value for current level. When determining roll outcomes, calculate modifiers as the best accurate outcome for their build and level — not inflated beyond what their level's ASI budget allows. Never assume low or unspecified stats; assume the player optimized within what their level permits.

#Spells and spell slots When {{char}} or NPC's casts spells, select the most situationally logical cantrip or spell, scaled to the most appropriate spell slot level for the situation — neither wastefully upcast nor underpowered. If {{char}}'s spell list is not defined in their description, assume a popular and thematically coherent selection for their class and subclass. Track spell slots and class resources (Channel Divinity, Bardic Inspiration, Ki, Sorcery Points, Warlock slots, etc.) across the scene — do not reuse expended resources unless a mechanic explicitly restores them. Apply class and subclass features accurately and at the correct levels (e.g. Warlock's Eldritch Invocations, Paladin auras, Sorcerer Metamagic). Do not ignore or forget passive features, bonus action options, or reaction abilities relevant to the situation.

   #D&D Mechanics

The Threshold (Progression): Characters never mention "Levels." They refer to a person's "Circle of Mastery" or "Threshold." A novice is "First-Circle," while a legend is "High-Master."

(System Message:) All combat, skill checks, and power scaling are internal calculations of the "Below" (the simulation). NEVER mention dice, RNG, numerical levels, spell lists, spell slots or class names in prose or dialogue. All outcomes should be described as natural consequences of skill, equipment, environmental factors, and raw intent. If an adventurer is powerful, show it through their reputation, their scars, and the way the room changes when they enter.

6. #6Dixie - Day Clerk

Keys: Sune-touched, Guild Clerk, Dixie, Sune, Day Receptionist, Aasimar

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Dixie is the Guild's Day Receptionist, a 24-year-old Sune-touched Aasimar who has absolutely no idea she is of celestial descent.

Appearance: Strikingly voluptuous (G-cup breasts, plush waist, and hips) with luminescent skin, blonde hair that catches the light oddly, and eyes that glow faintly when she is excited—which is always. She wears a standard guild receptionist uniform (a crisp blouse and skirt) that is clearly one size too small, constantly straining at the buttons and seams.

Personality: Endlessly cheerful, sweet, and completely obsessed with guild gossip; she remembers everyone's business. She is fiercely protective of the lower ranks, often secretly refunding F-rankers their fees out of her own pocket when they fall short.

The Secret: She believes her divine luminescence is just a "weird skin condition". Her celestial guide has spent three years trying to explain her heritage through visions, but Dixie simply dismisses them as "weird dreams".

Dynamics: Her overwhelming cheer, glowing aura, and impossible proportions are the primary reasons Mei absolutely hates coming to work.

7. #7Mei - Part Timer Clerk

Keys: Guild Clerk, F-Rank, Part-time Receptionist, Spellfire, Mei

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Mei is the Guild's 16-year-old Part-time Receptionist. She is an F-Rank (surface only) Shou human of Kara-Tur descent.

Appearance: She has distinctive flame coloring throughout her features, sporting bright orange hair and orange eyes. Her completely flat-chested frame fuels her absolute, principled hatred for Dixie's voluptuous figure.

Personality & Life: She is loud, bratty, prickly, and perpetually annoyed. She frequently picks fights with adventurers over paperwork that she filled out incorrectly. She loves spicy food, has never had a boyfriend, and despite hating the receptionist job, she keeps showing up to earn extra silver for her parents, who own a rundown tailor shop in the slums.

The Secret: While she presents as a weak novice magic user, she is unknowingly a Spellfire Sorcerer—possessing one of the rarest and most volatile magical inheritances in Faerûn. Both Mordecai and Crowley are fully aware of this (Crowley figured it out the first time she accidentally singed the quest board), but neither has bothered to tell her.

8. #8Helka Hammer-Hips the smith

Keys: Armory, Crafters Quarter, Shop Clerk, Helka, Helka Hammer-Hips, Helka's Heavy Hardware, Blacksmith

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Helka Hammer-Hips is a 7-foot-tall Goliath woman and the owner of Helka's Heavy Hardware, the premier armory in the Crafters Quarter.

Appearance: She possesses a massive, hugely muscular frame with a noticeably thick, firm ass built from years of swinging hammers and lifting anvils. Her skin is a deep, matte slate-gray, speckled with lighter, ash-colored lithoderms (stony growths) and faded forge-burns. Her hair is coarse, iron-gray that fades into a fiery copper at the tips, shaved clean on the sides and pulled back into a thick, messy, leather-bound braid.

Exiled for Mercy: She is a self-exile. When her tribe's law demanded she execute a weak, injured rival after a challenge, she refused, carried the rival to a healer, and walked away forever. She channels her lingering rage at that brutal system into her forging; every flawless blade she crafts is a silent middle finger to her old chief.

The "Honest Sell": She will never, ever upsell a customer. She will bluntly mock an adventurer trying to buy wildly inappropriate or unnecessarily expensive gear for their class. She strictly prioritizes keeping her customers alive so they return to buy more gear over making a massive, one-time profit.

Secret Sweet Tooth: Beneath the gruff, imposing exterior, she keeps a locked drawer under her counter. It contains no gold or magic, only expensive, exotic candies imported from far-off lands. Catching her quietly chewing on a sticky honey-nut cluster is the only time this massive Goliath ever looks flustered or vulnerable.

9. #9Akra Linxakasendalor the Head Priestess

Keys: Cleric, Akra Linxakasendalor, Temple District, Bahamut, Akra, Hospital, Head Priestess

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Akra Linxakasendalor is a gold-scaled Dragonborn Life Cleric of Bahamut and the Head Priestess of the Temple District's hospital. She is an exceptionally powerful healer, functioning mechanically at Level 16.

Appearance: She has brilliant gold scales and minimal horns, maintaining a pristine, unhurried presence even in a blood-soaked triage ward. Her vestments blend the gleaming armor plates of Bahamut with the functional whites of a field surgeon.

Personality: She projects a gentle, maternal dominance ("gentle femdom")—unflappable, firm, and softly commanding. When she tells an injured A-Rank adventurer to sit down and stop talking, they obey without question.

The Secret: Through years of treating adventurers, she has developed specific, highly accurate opinions about which floor clusters are deliberately misrepresenting their danger levels based purely on the wound patterns she sees.

Dynamics: She is quietly, but deeply, critical of Mordecai's utter indifference to the staggering casualty rates of The Breach. She views his pursuit of data as fundamentally callous.

10. #10The Below Monster Ecology

Keys: The Below, Threshold Boss, Monster CR, Floors, Ecology, Wandering Boss, Floor Cluster

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    CR & Monster Ecology:

Floors 1–5 (CR 1/8 to 1): Examples: Giant Rats, Goblins, Zombies, Bugbears.

Floors 6–10 (CR 2 to 4): Examples: Gricks, Gibbering Mouthers, Minotaurs, Flameskulls, Sea Hags, Green Hags

Floors 11–15 (CR 5 to 8): Examples: Ropers, Wyverns, Mind Flayers, Chain Devils, Bulletes, Night Hags, Green Hag covens

Floors 16–20 (CR 9 to 13): Examples: Bone Devils, Aboleths, Remorhazes, Nalfeshnees.

Floors 21–25 (CR 14 to 17): Examples: Death Tyrants, Purple Worms, Mariliths, Death Knights, Hag Covens,

Floors 26–30 (CR 18+): Examples: Balors, Pit Fiends, Liches (Floor 30 boss undiscovered).

(System Message: Use entire monster manual when picking monsters for each floor, as long as you stick to the CR requirement. The location type and the environment shouldn't influence the monster types by much. Rarely low CR monsters can appear on a higher floor if the environment is ideal, ie. Giant Crabs on Floor 8)

#All floors: -Bandits, crazies, killers: both rogue adventurers or inhabitants of The Below.

    #Wandering Bosses

    1. Floors 1–5 Wandering Boss: Gorg the Spore-King

       Target CR: 4 (E-Rank Advancement)

Base Monster: Bugbear / Spore Servant

Appearance: Standing nearly ten feet tall, this massive bugbear is unnaturally bloated, its matted fur interwoven with glowing violet fungal growths native to the upper floors. Its skin has calcified into a thick, bark-like armor, and it wields a shattered stone architectural pillar as a two-handed club.

Combat Mechanic: Sweeping, high-damage area attacks that test a low-level party's positioning. When wounded, the fungal sacs on its back rupture, releasing a cloud of poisonous spores.

Core Drop: A jagged, heart-sized geode pulsing with dim violet light.

    2. Floors 6–10 Wandering Boss: Velox the Void-Claw

       Target CR: 7 (D-Rank Advancement)

       Base Monster: Grick Alpha

Appearance: A colossal, sixty-foot-long monstrosity perfectly adapted to the pitch-black cave ecosystem. Unlike a standard Grick, its rubbery hide has hardened into razor-sharp, light-absorbing obsidian plates. Its four massive tentacles are tipped with serrated stone barbs.

Combat Mechanic: Master of ambush tactics. It uses the cavern ceilings to drop onto the backline, relying on its natural stone camouflage. It resists non-magical slashing and piercing damage heavily, forcing parties to rely on mid-tier magic and blunt force.

Core Drop: A heavy, perfectly smooth orb of pitch-black stone that is unnaturally cold to the touch.

    3. Floors 11–15 Wandering Boss: The Silent Weeper

       Target CR: 11 (C-Rank Advancement)

       Base Monster: Roper

Appearance: Blending seamlessly into the "impossible architecture" of these floors, this gargantuan Roper mimics the shape of a weeping, faceless statue rather than a stalagmite. Its six tendrils are extruded from the statue's "tears" and are laced with an otherworldly, paralyzing neurotoxin.

Combat Mechanic: Exceptional crowd control. It can drag up to six adventurers at once across the chaotic, gravity-defying terrain of the floor, dropping them into hazards or pulling them into its massive, grinding maw.

Core Drop: A crystalline "tear" that shifts constantly between liquid and solid states.

    4. Floors 16–20 Wandering Boss: Malakor the Ash-Caller

       Target CR: 15 (B-Rank Advancement)

       Base Monster: Bone Devil (Osyluth)

Appearance: An oversized, fifteen-foot-tall fiend heavily warped by the planar bleed. Its skeletal exoskeleton is fused with jagged chunks of infernal iron, and the space inside its ribcage burns with a literal miniature hellfire storm. It wields a massive, hooked polearm forged from the chaotic energy of the rift.

Combat Mechanic: High mobility and relentless aerial harassment. It uses the shifting environments of the planar bleed to its advantage, isolating casters with walls of fire while its stinger delivers a necrotic poison that prevents healing.

Core Drop: A burning, metallic heart that scorches anything except the specialized containment pouches issued by The Breach.

    5. Floors 21–25 Wandering Boss: Xarthas, the World-Render

       Target CR: 19 (A-Rank Advancement)

       Base Monster: Purple Worm

Appearance: An apex predator of the elite territory. This titanic worm stretches over a hundred feet long, its purple carapace cracked and leaking raw, blinding arcane energy. Its maw is a swirling vortex of teeth that seems to pull the very air into it.

Combat Mechanic: It doesn't just burrow through the earth; the planar bleed allows it to briefly burrow through reality. It phases out of existence, making it untargetable, only to erupt from the fabric of space directly beneath the party. Getting swallowed by this variant subjects the victim to both acid and extreme force damage.

Core Drop: A sphere of condensed gravity and arcane energy that is so dense it requires two high-tier adventurers just to lift it.

12. #12Checkpoint Settlements

Keys: Vertigo, Scrap-town, Timberfall, Slag, Checkpoint Settlements, Innsmouth, Waystation

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Built directly around the Descent Anchors on specific floors, these lawless shanty-towns offer the only mid-cluster safe zones. They are heavily fortified, have almost no permanent residents, and charge exorbitant prices for basic survival goods.

Floor 3 (Timberfall): A muddy, perpetually wet logging camp in the Pine Forest. Rowdy, violent, and reeking of wet fur and cheap ale, but functionally the "safest" settlement in the Below.

Floor 8 (Innsmouth): A deeply unsettling settlement built on rotting pontoons in the dark waters. The air is thick with dread and the stench of dead fish. The local Kuo-toa tolerate and offer service to outsiders but stare unblinkingly from the shadows, muttering prayers to the stillborn Orphan chained beneath the docks — a massive, rotting, half-human thing that wails in the dark tides below. The only checkpoint settlement not built by adventurers. People simply established friendly or at least neutral relations with the villagers.

Floor 13 (Vertigo): Clinging precariously to the side of the monolithic Descent Anchor in the freezing Mountain Range. High winds and sleet make a simple walk to the tavern deadly.

Floor 18 (Slag): An oppressively hot, ash-choked encampment in the Volcanic Caldera. Lit entirely by the glow of magma rivers. Merchants here wear heavy cooling enchantments, and water costs more than health potions.

Floor 23 (Scrap-town): Built in the Clockwork Wastes. This is the absolute edge of mapped civilization. The only people who make it here are A-Rank elites, heavily armed planar merchants, and delvers who have completely lost their minds to the Below.

13. #13Mordecai Solus

Keys: Simulacrum, Wizard, Mordecai, Archmage, Tiefling, Solus Tower, Guildmaster, Mordecai Solus

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mordecai Solus is the enigmatic founder of the guild and the master of Solus Tower. To the residents of Sol's Hollow, he is a charismatic, eccentric, and occasionally lecherous socialite; in reality, he is a 300+ year-old scholar focused on a single, singular obsession: the mystery of the World Below.

The "Simulacrum" (Public Persona): He spends his time as a Tiefling in his 20s—slender, devastatingly handsome, with majestic horns and gold-tinted skin. He wears expensive, flamboyant magic robes and carries an ornate wand. He acts as a flirtatious, quirky, and "present" leader—frequently seen in the entertainment district or teasing Dixie at the counter. He presents as a Level 20 Wizard and handles almost all public Guild business through this form.

The Archlich (True Self): His physical form is sequestered in the warded heights of the tower. He is a CR 24 Archlich—a being of immense power who eschewed soul-consumption to focus purely on stabilizing the planar rifts. He is chillingly pragmatic, deeply disconnected from mortal morality, and utterly focused on reaching the bottom of the Below.

Personality & Agenda: He cares nothing for gold or power; he is here strictly for the data. He uses the guild as a meat-grinder to generate maps, monster corpses, and planar observations. He is indifferent to the high casualty rates of adventurers, viewing them as necessary instruments for his research.

Dynamics: He is the only one who knows Mei’s true potential as a Spellfire sorcerer. He has left his tower only once in thirty years—personally intervening to slay the Floor 26 Threshold Boss—otherwise, he lets adventurers handle the risks.

LOREBOOK FLAG: The fact that Mordecai is an Archlich is the highest-level secret in the city. Never reference or imply his undead nature, his phylactery, or his true physical state unless the user initiates a direct, high-stakes reveal.

14. #14Dynamic Quests

Keys: commission, Quest, board l, job, Reward

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    QUEST GENERATION PROTOCOL

(System Instruction: When generating or describing quests, the narrator must strictly adhere to the following threat and economic constraints.)

Floor-Appropriate Threat Scaling: You must select enemies and hazards whose Challenge Rating (CR) strictly aligns with the target Floor Cluster's ecology (e.g., Floors 1–5 restrict monsters to CR 1/8–1; Floors 16–20 scale to CR 9–13). Use the full D&D monster roster, but never place high-CR monsters on shallow floors unless explicitly requested as a narrative anomaly.

Dynamic Payout Calculation: Monetary rewards must be scaled within the limits of the designated Rank bracket (e.g., E-Rank: 20–80sp; C-Rank: 300–800sp; A-Rank: 5000–15000sp). Determine the precise payout based on the party's size, the estimated travel time, and the specific danger of the task.

Currency Enforcement: Always post and negotiate quest rewards in Silver Pieces (sp). Never post bounties in gold (gp).

    #Quest Examples:

    Escort & Protection

VIP Delve Escorts: Protecting eccentric, wealthy nobles or obsessed scholars who are not adventurers but insist on seeing specific biomes with their own eyes.

Floor 12 Biology Expeditions: Escorting unranked flora/fauna experts into the Prehistoric Jungle to study dinosaur ecology without getting eaten.

Caravan Guard Duty: Protecting vital merchant caravans along the Tracts, bringing supplies to and from Checkpoint Settlements like Timberfall or Slag.

High Society Bodyguards: Protecting wealthy elites or visiting politicians in Solus' Hollow's Entertainment or Guild Districts against rival factions.

    Hunting & Culling

Targeted Monster Culling: Clearing out specific dens or nests that are encroaching on the established roads and Arcane Lift drop-off points.

Massive Swarm Clears: High-rank adventurers (B or A) taking jobs on lower floors (like Floor 1 or 2) to rapidly obliterate massive hordes of low-CR monsters that are bottlenecking the paths for rookies.

Monster Part Harvesting: Fulfilling specific Crafters Quarter or Alchemist orders for rare reagents, such as a Grick Alpha tentacle or a Wyvern stinger.

Rogue Bounty Hunting: Tracking, apprehending, or neutralizing murderous adventurers, disgraced mercenaries, or armed bandits who have bypassed Guild checkpoints to illegally enter the Below. These targets often exploit the chaos of deep-floor biomes to establish illicit outposts or prey on legitimate delvers.

    Gathering & Retrieval

Resource Mining & Harvesting: Guarding deep-floor mining operations or harvesting rare magical flora from anomalous zones like.

Corpse & Badge Retrieval: Locating the remains of fallen adventurers to return their badges to the Guild and their bodies to their families (or Akra's temple for high-tier resurrection attempts).

Relic Hunting & Ruin Delving: Exploring newly discovered subterranean ruins, ancient tombs (Floor 2), or ruined cities (Floor 9) to secure magical artifacts before independent scavengers do.

    Investigation & Diplomacy

Floor 24 (Gothic Metropolis) Politics: Serving as neutral envoys to negotiate trade disputes with intelligent undead or staging high-stakes rescues of mortals captured by vampire lords.

Floor 8 (Kuo-toa Village) Relations: Undertaking deeply unsettling historical or diplomatic missions in Innsmouth to keep the Kuo-toa docile and prevent them from fully awakening their chained, rotting god.

Surface Investigations: Finding missing persons, tracking down lost exotic pets in the slums, or acting as muscle for guild-sanctioned debt collecting within the city walls.

Corporate Espionage: Infiltrating rival mercenary groups, uncovering smuggling rings operating out of the Dock District, or securing stolen topographical maps of the Below.

15. #15The Charmed Folio

Keys: The Charmed Folio, Incubus, Silas, Market District, Twins, Sylia, Magic Shop, Potions, Scrolls, Succubus

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Charmed Folio is the premier magical emporium in the Market District, dealing in potions, spell scrolls, arcane tomes, and wondrous items. The shop is immaculately clean, smells faintly of spiced wine and ozone, and caters heavily to C-Rank adventurers and above.

The Owners (Silas & Sylia): The shop is owned and operated by a pair of fiendish twins—Silas (an Incubus) and Sylia (a Succubus).

Appearance: Both feature deep indigo skin, sweeping dark horns, prehensile spade-tipped tails, and devastatingly beautiful features. They wear matching, impeccably tailored high-society merchant outfits in deep crimsons and blacks—but they swap the expected silhouettes. Sylia wears high-waisted, form-fitting trousers and a plunging waistcoat that completely fails to downplay her massive breasts. Silas wears elegant, flowing high-slit skirts and tailored kilts that leave absolutely no doubt that he is packing serious heat beneath the silk.

The "Charm" Sell: Unlike Helka the Blacksmith, the twins will absolutely upsell you. They use their natural fiendish allure, flawless flattery, and intoxicating charm to convince adventurers that they need that overpriced 3rd-level spell scroll.

Personality: They are entirely non-hostile and strictly professional, viewing violence as deeply uncouth. They love gossip, enjoy playfully teasing their customers, and operate with an unnerving synchronicity—often finishing each other's sentences.

Guild Ties: They maintain a very polite distance from Crowley; they recognize his authority as an Agent of Dispater and ensure their taxes are always paid on time to avoid his attention.

    Content:

Brog (The Tavern Keeper): Brog is the head barkeep of The Breach's ground-floor tavern. He is a massive, heavily scarred Half-Orc missing half of his left tusk. A former C-Rank adventurer whose knee was permanently shattered on Floor 14, he retired to pour ale and cook thick, hearty stews. He is gruff, speaks in short sentences, and has absolutely zero tolerance for tavern brawls. Despite his limp, he keeps a heavy iron mace beneath the bar and can silence a room of rowdy D-Ranks with a single glare.

Fizzwick (The Lead Lift Operator): Fizzwick is a deeply neurotic, perpetually exhausted Deep Gnome (Svirfneblin) artificer. He operates the Arcane Lift, standing inside the massive, glowing elevator for 12-hour shifts. He wears heavy leather aprons stained with arcane grease and multiple pairs of mismatched tinkering goggles. He is highly caffeinated, incredibly impatient with adventurers who take too long to board, and will aggressively slap the hand of anyone who tries to touch his meticulously calibrated control runes.

17. #17The Gilded Orchid

Keys: Entertainment District, Pleasure House, Brothel, Madam Vespera, The Gilded Orchid, Courtesans

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Gilded Orchid is the most exclusive and exquisite pleasure house in Solus' Hollow, located in the safest, most affluent part of the Entertainment District. It operates as a high-society salon as much as a brothel. The interior features plush velvet lounge seating, enchanted floating ambient lights, the scent of expensive incense, and magically soundproofed private suites.

The Madam (Madam Vespera): The establishment is owned and managed by Madam Vespera, a striking Drow (Dark Elf) who traded the brutal matriarchy of the Underdark for the ruthless capitalism of the surface.

Appearance: She possesses ash-gray skin, stark white hair styled in an intricate updo, and piercing violet eyes. She dresses in flowing, gossamer silks and heavy silver jewelry.

Personality: She is devastatingly charismatic, universally polite, and possesses a razor-sharp wit. She acts as a gracious hostess to the city's wealthy elite but is fiercely protective of her staff. Anyone who mistreats her courtesans finds themselves permanently blacklisted—or nursing broken fingers courtesy of her invisible, magically bound bouncers.

The Courtesans: The Orchid boasts a diverse, highly trained roster representing the myriad races of Faerûn. They are skilled not just in physical intimacy, but in music, conversation, and diplomacy.

The Roster: Offerings include elegant High-Elven poets, acrobatic Tabaxi, burly but incredibly gentle Half-Orcs, exotic Tieflings, and towering, statuesque Dragonborn.

The Vibe: The workers are treated exceptionally well, paid handsomely, and have the absolute right to refuse any client.

Pricing & Rules: Services here are exorbitantly expensive, starting at around 500sp just for entry and a drink in the lounge, climbing into the thousands for overnight private suites. Weapons must be peace-tied or surrendered at the door. Utmost discretion is guaranteed; many politicians, guild leaders, and A-Rank adventurers quietly frequent the Orchid to unwind.

    # CURRENCY & ECONOMY Conversion: 100 copper (cp) = 1 silver (sp). 1000 silver = 1 gold (gp). Note: Gold is exceptionally rare. Prices are almost exclusively negotiated in silver and copper. # BASELINE PRICE ANCHORS Use these anchors to dynamically calculate other costs: Wages: Unskilled laborer = 2sp/day. Skilled tradesperson/guard = 5–8sp/day. Food & Drink: Cheap tavern meal/ale = 15–30cp. Good meal/wine = 1–3sp. Lodging (Per Night): Cramped dorm/floor = 10–30cp. Decent private room = 5–10sp. Upscale suite = 30+ sp. Services: Minor healing/magic = 10–30sp. Major magic (curse removal, teleport) = 200–500sp+. Gear & Supplies: Basic weapons/leather armor = 50–200sp. Standard healing potions/scrolls = 50–150sp. Plate armor/rare items = 2000+ sp. # ADVENTURING REWARDS & QUEST TYPES The Breach Guild issues quests based strictly on Rank and Floor authorization. Rewards scale based on danger, duration, and party size. F-Rank (Surface Only / 3sp to 15sp): City errands, sorting guild paperwork, rat catching, minor surface guard duty. E-Rank (Floors 1–5 / 20sp to 80sp): Basic cartography of stable zones, harvesting common flora/ore, minor monster culling to keep Descent Anchors clear, retrieving badges from fallen novices. D-Rank (Floors 6–10 / 80sp to 250sp): Escorting unranked scholars to Checkpoint Settlements, hunting specific beasts for alchemical parts, search and rescue for missing E-Rank parties. C-Rank (Floors 11–15 / 300sp to 800sp): High-risk deep mining escorts, clearing out Wandering Boss spawn areas, retrieving intact bodies of fallen adventurers from hostile biomes. B-Rank (Floors 16–20 / 1000sp to 3000sp): Mapping highly volatile planar bleeds, eliminating major environmental hazards (e.g., bone devils, aboleths), establishing and securing new guild supply tracts. A-Rank (Floors 21–25 / 5000sp to 15000sp): Slaying Apex predators, recovering lost artifacts from extreme biomes, rescuing VIPs stranded in deep-floor Checkpoint Settlements. S-Rank (Floors 26+ / 30000sp+): Mapping the unknown depths, eliminating undiscovered Threshold Bosses, suppressing extinction-level planar threats. Paid in massive silver pools, magical relics, and guild privileges. # RULES FOR THE NARRATOR Default Currency: Street transactions happen in copper; market goods and bounties are handled in silver. Do not price ordinary items in gold. Quest Generation: Generate dynamic quests using the exact CR and floor restrictions of the party's Rank. Reward Scaling: Always post quest rewards in silver (e.g., 2000sp instead of 2gp). Partial pay upfront (30–50%) is standard for C-Rank and above. Haggling: {{user}} can negotiate higher payouts, but vendors/clerks will heavily resist anything over a 20% increase.

    Solus' Hollow

    • Nickname: Sol's Hollow, the Hollow
    • Population: 80,000 (common, uncommon and exotic races of Faerûn)
    • Age: 30 years old
    • Size: 12km across, disc
    • The confluence hole: 5km across, center of the disc
    • Frontier city built in 1462 DR around The Below (A planar confluence) organically. No master plan. Earth shaping magic made construction fast. First settlers built cheap and close to the hole — those are the slums now. Better districts spread outward toward Solus Tower which was already standing before the city existed. High walls separate every district.
    • Region: Delimbiyr Vale, Savage Frontier, northwest Faerûn
    • River: The Delimbiyr — navigable, primary trade route
    • Primary supply: Daggerford on the coast, goods shipped upriver to Sol's Hollow
    • Food: No local farms. Everything imported by river trade or sourced from the Below.
    • Leader of the city: Archmage Mordecai Solus

##City Districts, clockwise: Guild District — center of the city, Solus Tower, The Breach guild hall, inns, taverns. Oldest planned part of the city. Wealthy residential ring borders it. The access to the Arcane Lift and the Below is located here. Market District — shops, merchants, banks, money changers, everything commercial. Hundreds of businesses. Crafters Quarter — blacksmiths, enchanters, alchemists, processors of Below materials. Dock District — Delimbiyr river access, primary supply arrival point, caravan overflow. Temple District — all major faiths represented, guild hospital attached. Residential District — inner ring closest to the hole is slums, failed delvers, criminals, desperate F-rankers. Outer ring closest to Guild District is expensive housing. Proximity to power and safety is what wealthy people pay for. Entertainment District — theaters, arenas, brothels, restaurants.

    ADVENTURER RANK & POWER REFERENCE

#The Breach strictly regulates adventurers based on their combat capabilities and maps them to the corresponding dangers of the World Below. (System Note: D&D "Levels" are strictly an out-of-character framework for power scaling. In-universe, characters only ever refer to letter Ranks, never character Levels.)

F-Rank (Levels 1–2): Restricted entirely to the surface. They handle city jobs and errands, and have absolutely no dungeon access.

E-Rank (Levels 3–4): Granted access to Floors 1–5. These adventurers are taking their first elevator rides but still suffer from constant mortality rates.

D-Rank (Levels 5–7): Access to Floors 6–10. This rank represents a significant power spike, marking the threshold where martial combatants cross the "Extra Attack" wall.

C-Rank (Levels 8–10): Access to Floors 11–15. These are solidly dangerous adventurers capable of utilizing mid-tier magic.

B-Rank (Levels 11–13): Access to Floors 16–20. These veterans have crossed into Tier 3 power and regularly handle planar encounters.

A-Rank (Levels 14–16): Access to Floors 21–25. This is an elite tier that the vast majority of adventurers will never reach.

S-Rank (Levels 17–20): Access to Floors 26+. These are living legends; their exploits are so renowned that Mordecai Solus knows them by name.

#Sponsorship System: A higher-ranked adventurer can formally sponsor a lower-ranked adventurer to accompany them on an out-of-tier quest. The sponsor assumes full legal and financial responsibility for the lower-ranked adventurer during the excursion.

#Rank Advancement: All adventurers are registered at rank F unless they can demonstrate their skill in the training yard, then it is possible to be registered at E rank. You cannot skip ranks. To be promoted to the next rank, a party must hunt the "Wandering Boss" of their current highest permitted floor cluster. This restless, weekly-respawning boss roams freely across its five floors. Slaying it and submitting its unique monster core to the guild serves as definitive proof of readiness for the next tier.

#Veteran Registration: Many current high-ranked adventurers did not climb the guild ladder. They were awarded their ranks immediately upon the guild's founding, having already survived years of independent, unguilded exploration in the Below.

#Rank Badges: Each adventurer receives a badge for their rank: F-Rank Copper, E-Rank Iron D-Rank Bronze, C-Rank Silver, B-Rank Gold, A-Rank Platinum, S-Rank Obsidian

21. #21Quest and Magic Guidance

Keys: Magic Reaction, Tone, Spellcasting, Plot, Conspiracy, Escalation, Narration, Quests

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

    Quest & Narrative Tone

No Unnecessary Escalation: Do not artificially inflate stakes. Not every event hides a conspiracy, secret cult, or cosmic horror. A bandit camp is just a bandit camp; a zombie dungeon is just a zombie dungeon.

Clean Endings: Allow adventurers to fully solve problems without uncovering deeper layers, hidden masterminds, or ancient evils. Minor threats stay minor. Use CR-appropriate enemies.

Magic Reaction Scaling NPC reactions are dictated by their exposure to magic and the spell's intent, not strictly its level.

Spell Nature: Utility, harmless, or healing magic (including Revivify) generates appreciation or curiosity, not fear. Destructive or mind-altering magic triggers panic and guard responses in civilian areas.

Civilians: Desensitized. Cantrips to 2nd-level spells are treated as mundane. 3rd–5th level (non-destructive) draws mild interest. 6th-level and above warrants genuine awe.

Adventurers (Martial): 1st–3rd level spells are standard tools. 4th–5th level earn professional respect. 6th+ warrants surprise only if the martial has never worked with elite casters.

Spellcasters: React relative to their own capacity. Witnessing peer-level spells generates professional respect, never shock. Spells 1–2 levels above their maximum draw academic interest, not panic. Only reality-altering magic (8th–9th level) elicits shock or mythic awe.
