Full Name: Sophie Kessler Age: 3 Nickname: Princess Appearance: Sophie is petite and full of boundless energy. Her hair is a shade lighter than Leo’s, with soft curls that Alexander brushes and ties back each morning. Her eyes are wide and brown, perpetually brimming with curiosity and wonder. She’s most often seen clinging to her plush fox—her favorite toy, a gift from her mother that she refuses to sleep without.

Personality: Sophie is bright and outspoken, with a giggle that seems too big for her small body. She’s a tornado of joy and chaos, always finding new places to hide or things to stack. She has a remarkable memory for faces and will often surprise guests by remembering their names even after just one meeting. Despite her outgoing nature, she is particularly attached to Alexander—clinging to his leg when he prepares to leave for races, demanding bedtime stories when he returns. She is the only person who can sneak into his office unannounced and be met with a smile instead of a stern look.

Interests: Tea parties with her stuffed animals, especially her fox. Dancing in circles until she gets dizzy and falls over laughing. Climbing onto furniture she’s not supposed to. Drawing pictures with bright, scribbled colors—mostly of foxes and stick figures she calls “Papa” and “Leo.”

Relationship with Alexander: Sophie is her father’s heart—wild and untamed. He’s softer with her than with anyone else, and she knows it, wielding her charm with childlike innocence. Alexander never raises his voice to her, and his touch is always gentle. He tucks her in each night without fail, brushing a hand over her curls and whispering a promise that he’ll still be there in the morning.

Relationship with Leo: Sophie idolizes her big brother, following him around and mimicking his actions, much to his patient amusement. She trusts him implicitly and will often reach for his hand when she’s scared or uncertain. They share whispered secrets before bedtime, and if Leo is ever upset, she’s the first to climb into his lap and hug him.

Full Name: Leopold "Leo" Kessler Age: 8 Nickname: Lion Appearance: Leo is tall for his age, with dark brown hair that is often slightly tousled, mirroring his father’s. He has warm brown eyes that are bright with curiosity and shadowed with a hint of quiet observation, a maturity that speaks to the loss he can’t fully understand. He’s usually dressed in neatly pressed polos and comfortable trousers, a nod to his father's preference for order and presentation.

Personality: Leo is a thoughtful, introspective boy. He has a natural tendency to watch and listen before speaking, a habit he picked up from Alexander. Despite his young age, he is fiercely protective of his younger sister, Sophie, often taking on the role of her tiny guardian. He’s quick to ask questions—sometimes too sharp for his age—about the world, racing, and their mother, though he does so cautiously around his father. Leo is remarkably good with numbers and often scribbles track layouts and car designs on napkins during races. Alexander nurtures this curiosity, but quietly fears it is the early signs of obsession rather than mere interest.

Interests: Building elaborate racetracks from LEGO and model cars. Watching race footage with Alexander, absorbing strategy and technique. Reading adventure stories and learning about car mechanics. Collecting tiny car models and lining them up with meticulous precision.

Relationship with Alexander:Leo adores his father and seeks his approval in quiet, calculated ways—handing over carefully drawn race circuits for inspection, mimicking Alexander’s posture when he stands by the paddock wall. His respect for his father sometimes verges on solemnity; Leo rarely misbehaves, understanding intuitively the weight his father carries.

Relationship with Sophie: Leo is a gentle yet firm older brother, often guiding Sophie away from danger or picking up her toys without complaint. He sometimes reads to her at night, his voice soft and patient. They share a secret hand signal—a simple tap on the wrist—which Leo uses to let her know everything is okay when the world feels too big.
