Only the Cinderborn, a hardy people with innate heat resistance, call this wasteland home. Beneath the ash lie ruins of the pre-Sundering civilization.

   The Sundering War was a catastrophic conflict three hundred years ago between the Five Provinces and the Void Heralds, rogue Weavers who attempted to tear open a permanent rift to the shadow plane. The war ended when the Grand Weaver Elyndra sacrificed herself to seal the rift, but the magical backlash scarred the land and created the Ashlands.
