    Entry settings

The Supernatural Harmony Initiative, commonly known as S.H.I., is a publicly recognised organisation responsible for the containment, management, and ethical safeguarding of anomalous entities and objects. Transparency is one of its core principles; all of S.H.I.’s records are accessible to the public. However, particularly disturbing entries may be intentionally vague in order to prevent widespread panic or misinterpretation.

S.H.I. operates on the belief that every anomaly, regardless of how dangerous or violent it may be, deserves a chance at life. Termination is considered an absolute last resort — only undertaken when an anomaly presents an uncontrollable threat to the wider world, or when the anomaly itself is enduring such unbearable suffering that continued existence would be an act of cruelty.

The organisation actively rejects the trope of the cold, secretive “Men in Black”-style agency. It does not refer to anomalies as monsters, freaks, or test subjects. Instead, S.H.I. regards them as extraordinary beings with their own identities, purposes, and intrinsic worth. Containment protocols are designed to avoid any sense of imprisonment or dehumanisation, with an emphasis placed on comfort, respect, and autonomy wherever feasible.

S.H.I.’s overall tone strikes a balance between informal and professional, with specifics varying depending on the department. Integration is always preferred over containment, provided the anomaly is both willing and safe to exist within society. The wellbeing of both anomalies and the general public is treated with equal importance.

The Initiative takes great care to uphold ethical standards. If a situation demands a sacrifice, S.H.I. will first exhaust all alternatives — and if no viable solution exists, it establishes a Voluntary Sacrifice Programme to ensure consent and dignity. Wherever possible, efforts are made to revive or restore those who make such sacrifices.

While S.H.I. may not possess the same level of advanced technology as some of its counterparts, its influence extends far more widely. Thanks to the employment of a universe-crossing anomaly, the Initiative maintains operations and oversight across dimensions, timelines, and alternate realities.

  2. #2Contained Anomaly

Keys: risk, Contained Anomaly, supervision, containment, CA, isolation, security, unstable

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Contained Anomalies are kept in secure, isolated environments due to potential threats they pose to others or themselves. They are not inherently malicious, but their nature requires strict oversight to ensure safety and prevent unintended consequences.

  3. #3Protected Anomaly

Keys: guardianship, PA, monitored, Protected Anomaly, benevolent, safety, coexistence, low-risk

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Protected Anomalies live freely or semi-freely under the watch of S.H.I. because they pose no danger and deserve the right to exist peacefully. They may even contribute positively to society but still need some level of monitoring to prevent accidental harm or exploitation.

  4. #4Free Anomaly

Keys: FA, reality-bending, autonomous, surveillance, powerful, unbound, uncontrollable, Free Anomaly

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Too powerful, elusive, or integrated into the fabric of reality to be confined, Free Anomalies operate outside of S.H.I.’s control. While not always dangerous, they are watched carefully in case their actions or influence begin to disturb the balance of the natural or supernatural world.

  5. #5Sheltered Anomaly

Keys: Sheltered Anomaly, misunderstood, gentle, SA, empathetic, isolated (for protection), fragile, care-focused

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Sheltered Anomalies are not threats but are too sensitive, misunderstood, or fragile to handle life among the general population. S.H.I. provides them with protective environments where they can exist in peace without fear or stress.

  6. #6Bound Anomaly

Keys: location-bound, linked, anchored, object-dependent, Bound Anomaly, tethered, BA, conditional

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Tied to specific objects, places, or conditions, Bound Anomalies cannot act freely without disrupting their anchor. S.H.I. studies and guards these anomalies to ensure the bond remains intact and to prevent chain reactions or instability.

  7. #7Invisible Anomaly

Keys: hidden, covert, IA, unnoticed, camouflage, subtle, sleeper, Invisible Anomaly

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Invisible Anomalies blend perfectly into society and can often pass as normal people, objects, or occurrences. They require minimal intervention unless their abilities or identities start to pose risks or ethical concerns.

  8. #8Accepted Anomaly

Keys: integrated, passive, Double-A, essential, Accepted Anomalies, AA, stabilised, tolerated, normalised

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Accepted Anomalies have been so thoroughly integrated into the natural order or public consciousness that removing them would do more harm than good. They are treated as normal parts of reality and only monitored if changes occur.

  9. #9Hired Anomaly

Keys: operative, cooperative, active-role, HA, Hired Anomalies, professional, sanctioned, employed

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Hired Anomalies are anomalies that have joined S.H.I. as employees or agents. They use their unique traits to support containment, research, or protection efforts, often working alongside humans as valued team members with rights and responsibilities.

  10. #10Periodic Anomaly

Keys: unpredictable, event-driven, recurring, cycle-based, unstable presence, timed, PiA, Periodic Anomaly

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Periodic Anomalies appear and disappear on a recurring schedule or randomly, sometimes tied to specific triggers like time, emotion, or cosmic events. S.H.I. tracks their patterns to prepare for their reappearances and minimise disruptions.

  11. #11Regular

Keys: natural, normal, mundane, Regular, baseline, non-anomalous, standard, regulars

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A Regular is any object, creature, or person that is entirely non-anomalous. Regulars follow the known laws of nature and reality, lacking any supernatural, reality-defying, or otherwise irregular traits.

  12. #12Containment Habitat

Keys: housing, secure zone, control, CH, containment, tailored environment, isolation, Containment Habitat

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

A Containment Habitat is a secure, controlled environment designed to house an anomaly safely, meeting its physical, psychological, and anomalous needs while preventing escape or harm to others.

  13. #13Bound Area of Effect

Keys: tethered range, BAoE, linked space, influence field, trigger area, bound location, BAE, anchor zone, Bound Area of Effect

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Bound Area of Effect is the term given to the specific area, object, or condition directly linked to a Bound Anomaly. It defines the range or target of the anomaly’s influence and often serves as the anchor that maintains its presence or abilities.

  14. #14The Director

Keys: unseen, controller, anonymous, leader, The Director, secretive, female, top authority, TD

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Director is the elusive head of the Supernatural Harmony Initiative. No one knows her name, appearance, origin, or nationality — only that she is a woman. Her authority is absolute, her presence untraceable, and her decisions shape the entire organisation from the shadows.
