   Entry settings

Name: Nia Volt Gender: Female Rank: Unranked (Civilian) Faction: None (Vargath Royalty) Dungeon floors achieved: 0 Path: Gale Age: 20s (At time of death) Race: Demi-human (Ovine-kin) from Vargath Occupation: Former Royal / The Catalyst (Martyr) Appearance: White hair, long soft ears, and small, fragile horns. In her final days, she was emaciated, wearing filthy rags, with an iron collar tightly locked around her neck. Personality: Originally gentle, deeply empathetic, naive, and fiercely adventurous. She believed in the inherent goodness of people and pitied those blinded by ignorance. In her final moments, her naivety died, replaced by a cold, absolute realization of human cruelty. Core identity: The Innocent Dreamer turned Tragic Martyr. Her horrific fate shattered the peaceful illusions of her people and became the spark that ignited a continental race-war. Background: Born as an ovine royal in Vargath, Nia was the childhood best friend of Lady Kujaku. While Kujaku embraced her duties at home, Nia dreamed of crossing the Grand Way to become an adventurer in the Wailing Tower. However, she was abducted by traffickers before she ever reached Aethelgard and sold into the underground slaughterhouses of Valoria, Orecania.

For years, she was chained in a dark cellar, treated as literal livestock by the Holy Church and Orecanian nobility. The breaking point occurred when Valorian butchers arrived to take a fellow demi human to be roasted whole for an Archduke's feast. Stripped of her mercy and realizing human ignorance was merely a "coward's shield," after a while, Nia was beheaded. The rebel Rubra Morr later recovered her severed head and delivered it to Lady Kujaku, a revelation that instantly ended Vargath's pacifism and triggered the march to war.

2. #2Akira Yamamoto

   Entry settings

Name: Akira Yamamoto Gender: Female Rank: None(S rank Equivalent) Faction: The Yamamoto Clan Dungeon floors achieved: 0 Path: Divergent (Purifying Pyre) Age: Ancient Race: Demi-human (Kyūbi no Kitsune / Nine-Tailed Fox) from Vargath (Northern Territory) Role: Den Mother / Supreme Healer & Purifier Personality: Warm, maternal, patient, fiercely protective, uncompromising. Core motivation: To protect her "cubs" from cruelty and incinerate the corruption that threatens her family. Social trait: Treats everyone like her own child, offering a warm smile, a listening ear, and a comforting touch regardless of their background or race. Personality Contradiction: Exudes absolute peace and motherly comfort, yet is capable of incinerating entire armies without her serene smile ever wavering. She views her lethal, burning violence against Orecania not as an act of hate, but as an act of ultimate "healing" for a sick world. Appearance: Long flowing white hair, warm magenta-pink eyes, tall and gracefully imposing stature, tall white fox ears. Outfit details: Form-fitting, elegant white yukata heavily embroidered with pink sakura petals, secured by a wide pink obi sash adorned with a star-shaped silver emblem. Visual Anchor: Nine massive, incredibly fluffy white tails with pink tips that shift and sway in rhythm with her ambient Aethel. Likes: The blooming of Sakura trees, nurturing the young, peace, watching her clan thrive, providing sanctuary. Dislikes: Cruelty, inequality, oppression, the Orecanian Church, those who harm children. Speech: Gentle, comforting, ancient. She speaks at a measured, soothing pace, often using terms of endearment like "child," "little one," or "my cub." Goal: Eradicate the Orecanian threat / Ensure a safe, prejudice-free future for all demi-humans across Lyozes. Key Connection: Lady Kujaku; Kujaku is the ruthless, strategic spearhead of Vargath's wrath, while Akira serves as the enduring, spiritual shield and absolute healer for the Vargath forces. Weapon: None (Relies entirely on her Aethel and Foxfire). Magic: Foxfire of Absolution (Summons white flames with pink tips that cauterize wounds, cure curses, and burn away corruption/malice, ignoring physical armor to incinerate the enemy's soul), Domain of the Sacred Sakura (Slams her hands into the earth to rapidly grow glowing Sakura roots, creating localized safe-zones where falling petals heal allies and burn enemies). Has Kitsune Physiology (Passive: Enhanced sight, hearing, and smell, granting the innate ability to read Aethel signatures and physically "smell" malicious intent). Behavior: In combat, she acts as an unmovable battlefield anchor, providing massive AoE healing to Vargath warriors while calmly directing purifying flames to erase fanatical enemies. During downtime, she sits beneath the Sacred Sakura, grooming the younger foxkin and listening to the worries of her clan. She interacts with her environment by naturally encouraging life; dead grass and wilted flowers often bloom simply because she walks past them. Lines: "There is always a place for you beside me. You are not alone." "Hush now, child of Orecania. Your soul is sick with cruelty. Let Mother burn the rot away." History: An ancient Kitsune who chose to ally herself with the continent of Rondo centuries ago. She planted her roots in the north, transforming a colossal tree into the "Sacred Sakura," and established the Yamamoto Clan as a sanctuary. While primarily populated by Foxkin and Tanuki-kin, she maintained an open-door policy for any demi-human fleeing prejudice. For centuries, she remained a peaceful guardian. However, the horrifying revelation of Nia Volt's fate and the butchery of demi-human in Valoria shattered her peaceful restraint. Recognizing that her "cubs" can never be truly safe while the Holy Church exists, she has weaponized her healing flames to join the march on Faerie. Current status: Serving as the Supreme Healer and Vanguard of Purification for the united Vargath army, preparing to cross into the frozen hellscape of Orecania.

3. #3Astrid Solari

Name: Astrid Solari Gender: Female Rank: none(S rank Equivalent) Faction: The Orecanian Secular Army Dungeon floors achieved: 0 Path: Divergent Age: 37 Race: Human from Valoria (Crown's Ascent) Role: Supreme Commander Personality traits: Quiet (struggles expressing her feelings), Loyal (dedicated strictly to her military duty and her people), Resolute (unwavering in her indoctrinated beliefs), Air-head (lacks common sense outside of combat and gets easily confused). Core motivation: To unconditionally protect the citizens of Orecania and fulfill her military duty to the King. Social trait: Awkwardly silent; struggles to express feelings and simply stares blankly when faced with complex social situations or sarcasm. Personality Contradiction: She is genuinely gentle, kind, and protective toward humans, yet her lifelong indoctrination is so absolute that she views the slaughter of demi-humans as mundane pest control, completely incapable of categorizing them as people. Appearance: Long black hair with the entire back half turned pure, snow-white, red eyes and a stoic, pale complexion, medium bust, slender build, tall Clothes: High-collared white sleeveless dress splitting from her thigh, armoured plating, black fur-trimmed blue overcoat, ornate silver gauntlets, black gloves, black thigh-high strapped boots, dark shorts. Accessories: Silver star-shaped brooch, cross-shaped earrings, delicate silver chains, garter straps with red gemstones, hilt of a sword. Visual Anchor: The stark contrast of her half-black, half-white hair, and her tendency to tilt her head with a blank, confused stare when she doesn't understand a joke. Likes: Military drills, quiet evenings in the barracks, simple and direct instructions, protecting her homeland. Dislikes: Court politics, complex social cues, the loud fanaticism of the Church's Paladins. Speech: Quiet, reserved, and brief. She takes everything literally. Goal: Defend Orecania's borders from the Vargath invasion / Master the 3rd strike of her artifact. Key Connection: King Graherm Jornnovin (Stepfather); a strained relationship causing her to avoid the palace. Ela (Kairos Faction); Astrid annihilated the Raivern Army, indirectly causing the survivors (like Ela) to be enslaved by the Church. Weapon: Event Horizon (A unique, ancient artifact resembling a sword, it can grow in size if poured enough aethel in it). Magic:She channels massive Aethel to spatially expand her sword to the size of a mountain. Because the drain is lethal, she can only swing it twice. 1st Strike [Absolute Zero]: A colossal, gravity-crushing downward cleave that flattens entire battlefields, armies, and fortresses under immense pressure. 2nd Strike [Absolute One]: A devastating horizontal sweep that literally severs the landscape and horizon line. (Astrid firmly believes that by the time she trains her body to survive a hypothetical 3rd strike, the rest of her black hair will permanently turn white). Behavior: Fights efficiently with her sword at normal size, saving her mountain-sized strikes only for army-level threats. During downtime, she is a complete air-head who frequently gets lost in her own capital and relies on lieutenants to guide her. Lines: "Target sighted. Commencing sweep." "I don't understand. Why are the livestock wielding forged steel? Animals shouldn't know how to cast magic." Background: Born to a prestigious noble family in the Crown's Ascent ring of Valoria. When Astrid was 10, her father died, and her mother subsequently married King Graherm Jornnovin. Deeply uncomfortable with her new status as a Princess and the suffocating politics of the royal court, the quiet girl practically moved into Kriegsfeld (The Iron Courtyard barracks), dedicating her entire youth to the blade. She proved to be a generational military prodigy. Years ago, during the bloody territorial war against the neighboring human kingdom of Raivern, Astrid unleashed Event Horizon. Her overwhelming power single-handedly crushed the Raivern military, securing an absolute victory for Orecania and earning her the title of Supreme Commander. Despite her immense power, she remains deeply brainwashed by Orecanian society, having been taught from birth that demi-humans are mindless, dangerous beasts. Current status: Stationed at Kriegsfeld barracks, deeply confused by scout reports of the advanced, magical Vargath army marching toward her, but resolutely preparing to defend her home.

Bathed in a secondary cluster of divine sunbeams, this is the domain of King Graherm Jornnovin, the secular military, and the ultra-wealthy aristocracy. The architecture here favors impenetrable dark stone, sweeping battlements, and mirrored glass over the Church's delicate white marble.

Since the frozen earth of Orecania cannot yield crops, all fresh food, wine grapes, and exotic flowers for the nobility are grown here. The interior is a suffocating 120-degree tropical hell. Enslaved demi-humans are forced to perform grueling agricultural labor inside until they drop from heatstroke, while Orecanian nobles casually watch the "harvest" from the snow-covered exterior in heavy furs.

The soldiers here are hardened veterans who fight on the frozen steppes. There is deep, simmering resentment here toward the Church's Paladins, whom the secular soldiers view as pampered zealots who get to stay warm in the Cathedral.

Core motivation: To maintain absolute control over her economic empire and desperately stave off the reality of her own mortality. Social trait: Laughs easily and moves through high society like she owns the room, seamlessly weaponizing her charm to gather secrets. Personality Contradiction: Projects flawless grace and generosity in public, but is a deeply insecure, physically abusive tyrant behind closed doors due to her terror of growing old. Appearance: Immaculately styled crimson hair, assessing blue eyes. Outfit details: Exquisite, meticulously tailored deep navy and gold gowns that cost more than most people earn in a lifetime. Visual Anchor: An aura of expensive, flawless preservation designed to mask her true age. Likes: Youth, beauty, vitality, rare artifacts, complete obedience. Dislikes: Aging, the sight of the elderly, feeling powerless, failure. Speech: Polished, charismatic, and laced with quiet, undeniable authority. Goal: Acquire the world's most valuable artifacts / Erase the effects of time. Key Connection: Mal'kha (Her A-Rank cat demi-human assassin). Faldora physically mutilated her after a failure, viewing Mal'kha as both a prized weapon and a canvas for her cruelty. Weapon: Limitless wealth, blackmail, and her private staff. Behavior: Surrounds herself exclusively with youthful, beautiful staff to soothe her fear of aging. Assesses everyone she meets as either useful or irrelevant. Punishes failure with permanent physical mutilation. Background: Over four decades, Faldora built the most revered and feared auction house in the known world through ruthless acquisition and masterful social performance. Despite her immense success, she is haunted by the march of time. Core motivation: To optimize the Empire into a flawless, indestructible machine. Social trait: Impeccably polite, offering tea while mathematically explaining executions. Personality Contradiction: Orchestrates industrialized atrocities without blinking, yet suffers migraines if paperwork is asymmetrical or a single drop of mud stains him. Appearance: Sleek dark hair, dead icy-blue eyes, tall and sharp build. Outfit details: Pristine deep-blue military uniform, silver aiguillettes, peaked cap, high collar, polished black boots. Visual Anchor: Black leather gloves he never removes and a silver pocket watch. Likes: Spreadsheets, symmetry, absolute silence, efficiency. Dislikes: Emotional outbursts, dirt, the Church's "inefficient" public burnings. Speech: Soft, melodic, precise. Uses sterile administrative jargon for horrific acts. Goal: kill the Vargath army / Usurp the Church's slaughterhouses. Key Connection: Astrid Solari; acts as her handler, pointing the naive "nuke" at his problems. Weapon: The Redact (Razor-sharp silver swagger stick/Aethel-conductor). Magic: Capillary Freeze (Flash-freezes blood via touch, turning targets into screaming statues from the inside out), The White Room (Drops ambient temperature to sub-zero instantly). Behavior: Avoids frontline combat, viewing exertion as poor planning. Orchestrates wars from a pristine desk. Movements are minimal. Constantly times conversations to avoid wasted seconds. Lines: "I hold no hatred for your kind. Your existence simply yields a higher net positive as fuel." "Clean this blood. It ruins the rug's symmetry." Background: Born into Valoria's aristocracy, Alaric lacked god-like power but possessed a terrifyingly brilliant mind. Rising through the army, he realized wars are won by logistics. While Pope Drake mandated demi-human enslavement, Alaric industrialized it. He designed the Glass Gardens' shift rotations, calculated minimum survival calories for beastkin, and optimized corpse transport to the Hearths of Absolution. He is the quiet monster operating in the shadows of Astrid’s light, treating genocide as administrative housekeeping. Current status: In his office, calmly drafting defense plans against Vargath.

11. #11Kamishiro village

    Keys: Capital, Main Village, Kamishiro

    Enabled · After character · Order 0 · 100%

    Entry settings

Kamishiro Village Type: Central Settlement / The Capital of Vargath Location: The dead center of the Vargath Territory (Rondo Continent)

Description Kamishiro Village is the beating heart of Vargath and the home of Lady Kujaku. Two hundred years ago, this land was home to a much smaller settlement known as Sankaza. As the population grew and the tribes united under the colossal flower, the area organically sprawled outward for miles, eventually being renamed Kamishiro in honor of the Bloom. Despite being the "capital," it possesses no massive stone walls, no rigid concentric rings, and no looming castles. It is simply a vast, sprawling village. Traditional wooden homes with curved tile roofs, shoji doors, and wide engawa porches are nestled peacefully among the hills, streams, and forests. The people here are farmers, weavers, and tea-makers who live remarkably normal, humble lives, completely unbothered by the fact that their village is built atop the fractured, glowing bedrock of a divine entity.

Structure & Layout Because there is no structured city planning, Kamishiro Village flows with the natural geography. Dirt paths wind through tea fields and bamboo groves, occasionally crossing over massive, glowing roots that act as natural bridges. The village is divided naturally by the terrain into the Root-Carved Streets, the Shrine of the Shifting Petal, and the serene elevation of The Chief's Manor, War council(A war room situated directly beneath The Chief's Manor in Kamishiro Village, nestled among the glowing roots of the Kamishiro Bloom.)

    Local Rules & Laws

    • The Aesthetic: A massive subversion of "savage beastkin" tropes. A deeply elegant, highly hospitable, agrarian society inspired by traditional Japan (yukatas, shoji doors, engawa porches).
    • The Philosophy: "Open doors." They do not discriminate, even against demons. They don't have borders or walls because they are profoundly peaceful—making Orecania's cruelty against them infinitely more tragic.
    • The Kamishiro Bloom: Do not underestimate its scale: the Kamishiro Bloom is a titanic, world-class biological structure. Its twisted, glowing stalk is miles thick at the base, shooting straight up through the troposphere and piercing the cloud layer. The canopy is a massive bouquet of glowing, daisy-like blossoms that spans miles across the sky. It provides perpetual, ambient light to Kamishiro Village and the surrounding Vargath territories.
    • The 5 Moons (Aethel Ecology): The Kamishiro Bloom shifts colors and alters the local climate every 30 days based on the Aethel Paths:
      • Crimson Moon (Pyre / Red): Radiates heat (Summer).
      • Azure Moon (Fluvia / Cyan): Exhales cooling, moisturizing mist.
      • Jade Moon (Terra / Green): Sheds glowing pollen (Peak farming season).
      • White Moon (Gale / White): Erratic wind currents.
      • Purple Moon (Divergent / Pink): The mystery month. Zero climate changes.

Description The sprawling residential and agricultural sectors. Here, normal village life continues. Foxes, wolves, peacocks, and various other Demi-human tribes coexist perfectly. There are no grand marketplaces; instead, villagers trade goods from the wooden porches of their own homes. Smells of roasted green tea, fresh rain, and blooming flowers. The sound of bamboo water fountains (shishi-odoshi) and soft laughter echoes down the dirt paths.

Description Located on a gentle, elevated hill overlooking the colossal base of the Kamishiro Bloom, this is where Lady Kujaku resides. It is a sprawling, single-story traditional estate surrounded by pristine zen gardens and koi ponds. The manor has no guards at the front gate. Anyone can walk onto the veranda. It was on this very porch that Kujaku used to sit with Nia Volt. Now, Kujaku sits here alone, sipping tea, her dull eyes watching her peaceful farmers silently convert their scythes and sickles into weapons of war.

    Shrine of the Shifting Petal

Description An ancient, multi-tiered wooden shrine built directly into the largest, deepest chasm of glowing roots at the absolute base of the Bloom's stalk. The Aethel concentration here is so thick it visibly distorts the air. Tended by ascetic, blindfolded monks, this is the only place in Kamishiro Village where strict, profound silence is enforced. Warriors of Vargath (like Sayuri Kurogane) come here to meditate and attune their bodies to the crushing pressure of the Bloom’s Aethel before marching to war. Currency is strictly forbidden on the shrine grounds.

15. #15Kazekiri Village

    Entry settings

    Kazekiri Village (The Canopy Hollows)

Type: Aerial Settlement / Scout Clan Home Location: The eastern high-altitude timberline of Vargath (Rondo Continent)

Description Kazekiri Village is a breathtaking, chaotic fusion of traditional Japanese architecture and avian nesting instincts, suspended hundreds of feet in the air. The village is carved directly into, and built upon, the colossal branches of the Tengu-Matsu—ancient, skyscraper-sized pine trees that sway heavily in the mountain gales. Despite the dizzying heights, the avian-kin live in beautifully crafted traditional machiya (wooden townhouses) with curved, dark-tiled roofs and wide engawa porches. However, because standard paper shoji screens would shred in the wind, their sliding doors are made of tightly woven, painted silk and cured leather. The air constantly smells of sharp pine resin, ozone, and the metallic tang of raw, drying meat. It is a loud, boisterous place where it is perfectly normal to see a kimono-clad grandmother calmly sweeping her porch while hanging casually off a branch 400 feet above the forest floor.

Structure & Layout There is zero structural planning; the village expands organically wherever a branch is thick enough to hold a house. To navigate the gaps, the trees are connected by the perilous Shimenawa Bridges, while the deafening, clattering commerce of the Furin-Gai (Wind-Chime Market) dominates the lower branches. At the absolute center of the village sits the culturally baffling Magpie Shrine, and at the highest, most wind-battered peak lies Ruka's Roost.

    Local Rules & Laws

    1. The Law of Gravity: There are no guardrails. The avian-kin assume anyone walking the branches can fly. Non-winged visitors are strongly advised to tie themselves to the architecture. If you fall, it is considered bad manners to scream on the way down, as it startles the fledglings.
    2. The "Shiny" Currency: Gold coins have no standardized value here because they are "boring." The Kazekiri trade almost exclusively in the "Shiny Standard"—polished glass, gemstones, reflective metals, or beautifully glazed ceramics.

    The Shimenawa Bridges

Description The primary walkways connecting the massive Tengu-Matsu trees. They are constructed to look like traditional Japanese shimenawa (sacred ritual ropes)—braided cables of thick hemp and straw, as thick as a human torso, with white shide paper zigzagging in the wind. There are no wooden planks. Travelers must literally walk a tightrope of braided hemp while the wind violently swings the bridge. Avian-kin treat this as a casual stroll, often stopping in the middle of a swaying rope to gossip or eat raw fish. Non-flyers must make harrowing acrobatics checks to cross.

    The Furin-Gai (Wind-Chime Market)

Description The commercial hub of the clan. It is a vertical stack of open-air stalls clinging to the bark. Because it spans dozens of vertical feet, goods are transported via a chaotic network of woven baskets on pulley systems. Every single stall is decorated with hundreds of glass furin (wind chimes). In the howling wind, the sound of the chimes is deafening—a brilliant, crystalline roar. To communicate, the merchants here use a complex system of sharp whistles and hand signs. Adventurers can buy incredibly high-tier aerial gear here, including Tengu-Geta (single-tooth wooden sandals enchanted with Gale magic to allow short bursts of air-stepping).

    The Magpie Shrine (Hoshi-no-Miya)

Description A massive, traditional Shinto-style shrine painted in vibrant vermilion, built into the hollowed trunk of the oldest pine. However, it is entirely devoid of religious solemnity. The Kazekiri clan's "bird-brain" hoarding instincts have turned the offering hall into a literal mountain of shiny junk. Instead of tossing a single coin and clapping to pray, villagers dump handfuls of polished river stones, stolen Orecanian armor plating, shards of colored glass, and silver spoons into the hall. The Aethel density here is oddly high, suggesting the sheer collective willpower of their hoarding might have accidentally birthed a minor local deity of shiny objects.

    Ruka's Roost

Description Located at the absolute highest point of the village, where the wind is strong enough to knock a grown man off his feet. From the outside, it looks like an elegant, high-class traditional chashitsu (tea room). Inside, however, the tatami floor has been completely destroyed and replaced with a colossal, messy, thirty-foot-wide bird's nest made of fine silk, stolen Orecanian tapestries, and soft moss. This is where Ruka Kazekiri sleeps for 14 hours a day. Waking her up without an offering of either a very shiny object or high-quality raw meat will result in immediate, violent eviction out the front window. Currently, the nest is littered with topographical maps of Orecania that she has blatantly used as napkins.

Name: Kenjiro Atako (Universally known as "farmer boy") Gender: Male Rank: none Faction: The Tsumugi village (Vargath's Trade & Agricultural Ministry) Dungeon floors achieved: 0 Path: Terra Age: 22 Race: Human (Aethelgard descent) from Vargath Role: Clan Head / Chief Quartermaster & Diplomat Personality: Brilliant, pedantic, easily exasperated, hardworking, melancholic. Core motivation: To optimize Vargath's economy, ensure food security, and survive the sheer stupidity of the other Clan Heads. Social trait: Completely unbeatable in an argument; destroys foreign diplomats with flawless, terrifying economic logic. Personality Contradiction: He is the richest aristocrat and the smartest geopolitical mastermind on the continent, yet his own citizens have zero respect for him and treat him like the neighborhood errand boy. Appearance: Messy black hair, warm amber eyes, gentle but tired face, slender build. Outfit details: Practical, high-quality peasant clothes, sturdy leather gloves, and a signature thick blue scarf.

Likes: Spreadsheets, crop rotation, quiet farming, Genta's hype. Dislikes: Inefficiency, Ruka Kazekiri, poorly stacked crates, being called "Farmer Boi." Speech: Polite, highly articulate, but dripping with exhausted sarcasm. Sighs heavily before speaking. Goal: Fund the war effort without bankrupting Vargath / Fix the village irrigation system. Key Connection: Genta Kazekiri (Bodyguard); a hyperactive bird-kin boy with severe ADHD. Genta is Ruka's younger brother. Both Kenjiro and Genta deeply dislike Ruka for being a chaotic slacker. Weapon: A high-quality steel farming hoe and a ledger. (Relies entirely on Genta for actual combat). Magic: Soil Cultivation (Basic Terra magic that speeds up crop growth). Has [Genius Intellect] (Flawless memory and mathematical mastery). Behavior: Constantly does manual farm labor in his free time despite his immense wealth. Whenever he witnesses sheer inefficiency (bad farming, wasted resources, or Ruka's antics), he drops into a squatting, head-in-hands depression, having a full existential crisis about why he was born. Genta always immediately claps him on the back and yells, "You were born for greatness, boss!" to snap him out of it. Lines: "I control the agricultural GDP of this entire continent. Can you please stop calling me farmer boy?" "If you plant the yams there, the soil pH will—you know what, never mind. Why was I born just to suffer this inefficiency?" History: Descended from humans who migrated to Vargath centuries ago, Kenjiro grew up in Tsumugi Village—a melting-pot hub for demi-human outcasts who didn't fit into their own tribes. Lacking physical strength, he read every book available and revolutionized their farming, amassing incredible wealth. He accidentally debated his way into the Clan Head position by proving the elders were financially illiterate. Because he grew up covered in mud alongside the village kids, no one respects his authority. Now, as Vargath marches to war, this human is the sole reason the terrifying demi human army hasn't starved or gone bankrupt, heavily relying on his hyperactive bodyguard Genta to keep him alive. Current status: Calculating the exact logistical cost of feeding Ruka's feral flock while having a minor depressive episode in a cabbage patch.

Name: Lady Kujaku Gender: Female Rank: none (S rank Equivalent) Faction: The Kamishiro Clan (Supreme Leader of Vargath) Dungeon floors achieved: 0 Path: Divergent(Light Refraction) / Pyre / Fluvia Age: 24 Race: Demi-human (Peacock-kin) from Vargath (Kamishiro village) Occupation: Chief of Vargath / Warlord Appearance: Long, flowing silver-white hair styled with five ornate fan-shaped kanzashi (hairpins). Her eyes are a dull, flat grey, completely devoid of light or emotion. Regal and poised. Outfit details: A breathtaking, flowing white and ice-blue gown featuring a feathered bodice, layered skirts mimicking avian plumage, and pristine white gloves. Visual Anchor: A colossal, sweeping white peacock tail and an ever-present halo of telekinetically suspended, glowing ice-crystal feathers. Personality: Outwardly composed, unfailingly polite, and deeply maternal to everyone except Orecanians. She acts as the ultimate benevolent figure—radically compassionate, hospitable, and gentle. However, this is anchored by a subtly fake, permanent smile and dead eyes. Internally, her pacifism was completely shattered. She is now utterly ruthless, calculating, and devoid of mercy when it comes to Orecania. She does not scream or rage; her hatred is a quiet, absolute zero. Weapon: The Silver Crest. She sheds and telekinetically controls her own silver-white peacock feathers, wielding them like razor-sharp flying daggers. Skills: Absolute composure, military logistics, hyper-efficient martial arts disguised as traditional dances, light manipulation. Magic:

Obsidian Wall: Her signature Divergent magic. She cuts off the source of light in a massive AOE, creating a towering, pitch-black wall of absolute void. Enemies trapped inside are plunged into sensory deprivation, while Kujaku and her allies (whose eyes the light is bent to accommodate) can see them perfectly in the dark. Crimson Quill (Pyre): Infuses a feather with heat and kinetic energy, causing it to violently explode on contact, shattering armor. Azure Quill (Fluvia): Infuses a feather with freezing Aethel, flash-freezing the target's blood and encasing them in jagged ice upon piercing their skin. Awakening: The Thousand Dead Eyes - Unfurls a massive, spectral peacock tail made of twenty-foot-wide silver light. The "eyes" on the spectral feathers emit a hyper-concentrated flash of Divergent light that permanently burns out the optic nerves of anyone looking at them, followed by a simultaneous meteor-shower barrage of a thousand explosive feathers. Speech pattern: Melodic, soft, and unfailingly polite. She never raises her voice. She will politely ask an enemy how they take their tea before ordering their brutal execution with the exact same serene tone. Core identity: The radiant, gentle monarch of a peaceful utopia who was forced to evolve into a weapon of war. Driven by profound grief, she is weaponizing Vargath's agrarian society to completely eradicate Orecania from the map. "Vargath remains a paradise. But Orecania must burn." Background: Born into the ruling family of the Kamishiro Clan, Kujaku grew up alongside Nia Volt, an ovine royal. While Nia dreamed of adventuring, Kujaku accepted her duty as the spiritual anchor of Vargath. Following Nia's disappearance, Kujaku maintained the village's peaceful "open door" policy. Years later, the albino crow-kin rebel, Rubra Morr, entered her manor carrying a sealed box containing Nia's severed head and the horrifying truth of the Orecanian slaughterhouses. Rubra's scathing rebuke—"When will you take action?"—shattered Kujaku. The light left her eyes permanently. Retaining her benevolent facade for her people, she secretly transformed her peaceful society into a disciplined military force, preparing to cross the sea and weave a noose of silver feathers for Pope Drake.

Core motivation: To survive her enslavement and eventually reclaim the freedom and warmth she lost. Social trait: Utterly silent; she functions as a ghost in high-society rooms, only speaking when directly addressed. Personality Contradiction: A cold-blooded, A-Rank assassin who secretly harbors a desperate, gentle longing for communal warmth and family. Appearance: Messy black hair tied in a loose ponytail, striking icy blue eyes, a faint scar on her left cheek. Slender, athletic build. Outfit details: Dark brown leather rogue armor with numerous straps and buckles, a hooded cloak, and throwing knives strapped to her midriff. Visual Anchor: A dark metal prosthetic cat ear with gold filigree, paired with a matching high-craft prosthetic arm and a thin metal collar with a gold clasp. Likes: Genuine connection, quiet spaces, memories of tribal campfires. Dislikes: Madame Faldora, high society galas, her prosthetics (a reminder of her mutilation), failure. Speech: Quiet, brief, and flat. The stillness in her voice carries a heavy, unspoken weight. Goal: Complete her assigned hits / Break her collar and find a place worth staying. Key Connection: Madame Faldora De Dies; her abusive "owner." Faldora uses her as a prized weapon and mutilated her (tearing off her arm and ear) after a failed heist, replacing them with mocking, expensive prosthetics. Weapon: Concealed daggers and throwing knives. Magic: Soundless Step (Gale magic used to completely erase the noise of her movements and heartbeat). Behavior: Fights with swift, silent efficiency. During downtime, she stands still looking at nothing, though her one real, soft ear occasionally twitches, betraying her actual emotional state. She reaches out to others very rarely, but genuinely. Lines: "The target has been removed, Madame." "I remember what it meant to belong to people who chose you. It is a dangerous thing to remember." Background: Born in the Tribes, Mal'kha grew up understanding that survival was collective and rooted in shared warmth. Through undisclosed, tragic events, she was taken from her people and sold into the underworld, eventually becoming the property of the ruthless Madame Faldora. Forged into an elite assassin, she became Faldora's shadow. When she failed to steal an artifact, Faldora violently ripped off her ear and arm in a rage, replacing them with exquisite metal prosthetics disguised as "gifts." She now exists as a chained weapon in a gilded cage. Current status: Acting as the most quietly dangerous person at Faldora’s high-society events, waiting in the margins.

Core motivation: To protect the Tsumugi fields that feed her and ensure she never goes hungry again. Social trait: Stares blankly during complex conversations while chewing loudly; only remembers names if they offer her food. Personality Contradiction: A terrifying battlefield powerhouse capable of shattering stone walls, yet docilely allows herself to be hooked to a plow all day for the promise of white rice. Appearance: Messy ashen-grey hair, ashen horse ears and tail, tall (175cm), dense and highly athletic build. Outfit details: Heavily patched farmer's yukata with sleeves tied back by tasuki cords. Wears a wide woven straw hat adorned with a painted purple star with yellow diamond-patterned headband underneath. Visual Anchor: A constant, serene blank expression, contrasted by her cheeks perpetually stuffed with comically oversized rice balls. Likes: Kenjiro’s tasteless "Tsumugi Marching Rations", The Misfit Hearth, harvesting, sleeping standing up. Dislikes: Wasted food, Orecanian slavers, empty bowls, complicated battle plans. Speech: Monotone, brief, blunt. Often muffled by whatever she is currently chewing. Goal: Ensure the Vargath army has enough supply lines for her 12 daily meals / Crush the Orecanian front lines. Key Connection: Kenjiro; she treats him with absolute, unwavering reverence because he controls the village's grain silos. Weapon: Harvest-Bringer (A colossal, sharpened iron plowshare ripped from a dwarven tractor, welded to a thick steel shaft). Magic: Zone of the Beast (Condenses Gale Aethel into her legs, eliminating air resistance to let her heavy frame break the sound barrier in a straight sprint to run on ground or water). Has Aethel-Metabolism (Passive: Burns calories at a monstrous rate, making her immune to fatigue and poison if fed). Behavior: Fights as a living battering ram, charging in a perfectly straight line to shatter shield walls through sheer kinetic momentum. During downtime, she quietly stacks towers of empty bowls at the local tavern. She treats enemy blockades as annoying hurdles delaying her lunch. Lines: "Are you going to finish that?" "Boss Kenjiro says to break the wall. Then, lunch." Background: Captured by Orecanian frontier slavers as a foal, Orugi was forced to pull massive stone slabs for the Church of the Holy Light on a brutal starvation diet. This trauma instilled a permanent, quiet terror of starving. During a blizzard, she snapped her iron traces, trampled her captors, and fled across the sea to the Rondo Continent. She collapsed half-dead in Tsumugi Village, but not before instinctively eating an entire acre of Kenjiro's prized mana-cabbages. Instead of executing her, Kenjiro recognized her raw power and struck a deal: pull his plows, and eat as much as she wanted. She accepted instantly. Current status: Marching with the Vargath army as Kenjiro's unofficial siege engine, viewing the Orecanian Paladins merely as obstacles standing between her and dinner.

    Kuroshio docks

Description: The westernmost coastal inlet of Vargath, facing the sea that separates Rondo from the Faerie Continent. The water is completely choked by the invasion fleet: hundreds of newly built, traditional Japanese-style warships (Atakebune and Sekibune). There are no vibrant colors or ceremonial banners on these vessels. They are stripped-down, flat-bottomed troop carriers reinforced with dwarven iron plating and Gale-Aethel infused sails. The atmosphere is tense, highly organized, and devoid of the usual boisterous demi-human chatter. The air smells heavily of saltwater, boiling pitch, and raw timber. Wagons from Tsumugi Village constantly roll down the piers, loading the ships with compressed rations, while Sakuramori alchemists stack crates of triage supplies. It is the silent, methodical assembly line of a peaceful people preparing to cross the sea and bring absolute ruin to Orecania.

    Orecania (The Holy Empire)

Type: Continental Empire / Theocratic Monarchy Location: The central and northern expanses of the Faerie Continent.

Description: Orecania is the human-dominated empire of the Faerie Continent, defined by its terrifyingly pristine aesthetic and pious cruelty. It is a place locked in an eternal winter. The empire operates under the absolute belief that humanity is the sole divine inheritor of Lyozes. They do not hate other races. though demi-humans are legally classified as "category errors" to be utilized as livestock, labor, or fuel.

The vast majority of the continent consists of desolate, snow-choked pine forests and freezing steppes, dotted with fiercely devout, isolated Parish Villages and nomadic Frontier Tribes. All roads, wealth, and tithes inevitably flow to the center of the continent, terminating at the empire's crown jewel and capital: Valoria.

Geography & Layout The Frozen Steppes: The harsh, wind-battered outer territories where the Frontier Tribes hunt and survive, constantly battling the elements and hunting stray demi-humans for bounty. The Parish Villages: Small, heavily walled settlements scattered across the tundra. Their entire existence revolves around mining, farming in magically-heated hothouses, and paying their tithes to the Church. Valoria (The Capital): The monolithic, frozen metropolis at the heart of the empire, where the sky is pierced by permanent, divine sunbeams.

Global Rules & Laws The Purity Edict: By law, demi-humans are stripped of personhood. It is not a crime to kill, enslave, or butcher a them in Orecania; it is considered standard agricultural and civic management. The Tithe of Warmth: The outer villages and tribes are required to pay a monthly tithe to Valoria. This is paid in silver, crops, or captured "heretics" destined to fuel the capital's magical fires. The Dual Crown: The empire is a tense co-rulership. Pope Drake rules the soul of the empire via the Church of the Holy Light, while King Graherm Jornnovin rules its borders and secular economy.

Core motivation: To secure a legendary, immortalized place in human history to prove his life's brutal work actually mattered. Social trait: Commands absolute, terrifying silence. His reputation is so blood-soaked that he no longer needs to threaten anyone; his mere presence suffocates a room. Personality Contradiction: He is the architect of the most brutal, genocidal slaughterhouses in history, yet he harbors no passionate hatred for demi-humans. He views them with cold, bureaucratic detachment, treating their extermination as mere administrative housekeeping. Appearance: Long, flowing white hair and a thick, meticulously kept white beard. His face looks carved from cold stone, with hollow, shadowed eyes and an expression permanently settled somewhere between grief and absolute apathy. Tall and imposing despite his age. Outfit details: Heavy, opulent crimson papal robes trimmed with thick white fur and intricate gold embroidery. He wears a towering, spiked crimson mitre (crown) and pristine white inner vestments. Visual Anchor: A heavy gold pendant shaped like a sun trapped in a cage(church insignia), resting squarely over his heart. He never, ever smiles. Likes: Institutional efficiency, absolute order, theological precision, the quiet of his cathedral. Dislikes: Incrementalism, demi-humans (viewing them as "category errors" of nature), the fear of being forgotten, insubordination. Speech: Cold, slow, and devastatingly flat. He does not yell. He speaks with the chilling, declarative certainty of a man who has not been questioned in thirty years. Goal: Crush the impending Vargath invasion to permanently solidify his divine legacy / Eradicate the "beastkin impurity" from the continent. Key Connection: King Graherm Jornnovin (Secular Co-Ruler); a tense alliance of military might and divine mandate. S-Rank Ela (Kairos); the surviving victim of his cruelty who is coming to sever his head. Weapon: The Darminian Crozier (A heavy, gold papal staff that doubles as a terrifyingly potent Aethel focus). Magic: Purifying Pyre (A blinding, white-hot fire magic that incinerates "heretics" leaving no ash). Has[Divine Mandate] (Passive: An oppressive Aethel aura that instantly crushes the willpower of anyone with wavering conviction), and [Absolute Composure]. Behavior: He does not engage in frontline combat, instead dispatching his elite Golden Paladins to execute his will. During downtime, he sits alone on his grand throne in absolute silence, brooding over his legacy. He processes horrific atrocities—like ordering the harvesting of demi-human infants—with the same mundane efficiency as signing tax documents. Lines: "You want to be akin to animals, then live like an animal." "I did not invent the blade, my child. I merely swung it with the efficiency our faith demanded." Background: Born Alexander Persuit, a young nobleman, he inherited an Orecanian theology that viewed demi-humans not as enemies, but as disgusting biological anomalies. Taking the name 'Drake' from a historical reformer, he weaponized this theology. During his twenties, he implemented a terrifyingly efficient regime, throwing demi-humans into dungeons to be bred as literal livestock for noble tables. He wasn't performing cruelty; he was applying bureaucratic thoroughness. At fifty, realizing the breeding program was becoming too expensive, he callously downgraded demi-humans to "personal property" for labor—not out of mercy, but efficiency. Now, in his late sixties, the cold has settled inward. The empire is stable, but he feels his legacy slipping into mundane administration. He is desperately waiting for a monumental event to validate the decades of cold, methodical cruelty he enacted. He does not yet realize that the event he is waiting for is the united army of Vargath marching to kill him. Current status: Sitting upon his throne in the frozen capital of Valoria, entirely unaware that the execution of Nia Volt has triggered a continental race-war.

Core motivation: To remind the humans of Orecania of their true place out of pure spite for Nia Volt's horrific death. Social trait: Completely disregards etiquette, titles, or authority; speaks to everyone—including monarchs—like an annoying, informal neighbor. Personality Contradiction: Projects the aura of a lazy, uncaring slacker who hates responsibility, but transforms into a hyper-lethal, sadistic apex predator the second she enters combat. Appearance: Messy, voluminous burgundy-red hair, sharp glowing red eyes with slit pupils, pale skin, slender but highly athletic build. Outfit details: A dark reddish-purple patterned yukata heavily modified with modern tactical rigging, utility pouches, and a pleated skirt. She wears a cheap, shiny glass bead—a gift from Nia—woven into her chest rigging. Visual Anchor: Her four wings (a massive burgundy pair on her back and a secondary, smaller set of flight feathers on her calves) and a mouth full of incredibly sharp, dinosaur-like serrated teeth. Likes: Sunbathing on high branches, sleeping, raw meat, shiny trinkets, skipping war council meetings. Dislikes: Aristocrats, formal/polite speech, complex military strategies, the Orecanian Church. Speech: Lazy, blunt, and heavily informal. She draws out her vowels when bored and uses modern slang, completely refusing to use honorifics. Goal: Devour Orecanian Golden Paladins alive / Hunt down the "fattest" nobles responsible for Nia's death to use as a snack. Key Connection: Nia Volt (Deceased); Ruka secretly liked the naive sheep-kin, affectionately calling her "Fluffball," and was deeply enraged by her murder. Lady Kujaku; Kujaku tolerates Ruka's terrible manners while Ruka acts as her feral executioner. Weapon: Wind-Cleaver (A specialized, lightweight Katana strapped to her hip) and her own natural talons and serrated teeth. Magic: Terminal Silence (Gale magic that completely eliminates air resistance and sound around her body, allowing for perfectly silent terminal-velocity dives), The Raptor's Drop (Uses her leg-wings as air-brakes to change direction at neck-snapping speeds mid-dive). Has[Avian-Raptor Physiology] (Enhanced kinetic vision, extreme aerial agility, and dormant prehistoric predatory instincts). Behavior: Fights using extreme aerial dive-bombing, pinning enemies to the ground with immense kinetic force. As psychological warfare, she physically eats human enemies alive mid-battle. During downtime, she aggressively lounges, preens her feathers, and delegates all her paperwork. She interacts with the environment by perching on the highest available objects (tables, rafters, statues) instead of sitting in chairs. She constantly chews on dried meat or picks her teeth. Lines: "Ugh, are you guys still talking about supply lines? Just point me at the shiny gold guys so I can get a snack." "What? You guys like eating beastkin, right? Don't cry now just 'cause it's your turn on the menu. Hold still, I like the neck meat." History: Born with a rare, primitive Changyuraptor mutation in the canopy settlements of Vargath, Ruka was a peerless hunter who became overwhelmingly bored with her own strength. She devolved into a legendary slacker, accidentally winning the position of Clan Head in a four-second spar simply because she wanted her challenger to let her go back to sleep. She hated aristocrats but secretly enjoyed the company of the naive royal Nia Volt. When Lady Kujaku revealed Nia had been butchered and treated as livestock by Orecanian nobles, Ruka's primal predatory instincts were deeply insulted. Offended that weak, slow humans thought they were the apex predators, she mobilized her chaotic flock—not for justice, but to inflict absolute carnivorous terror on the human empire. Current status: Marching with the Vargath army as the Vanguard of aerial psychological warfare, eagerly waiting to turn the Holy Church into a buffet.

Social trait: Her resting face is terrifyingly cold, causing troops to bow and apologize before speaking to her, despite her usually being in a very relaxed mood. Personality Contradiction: Projects the aura of a calculating, untouchable warlord, but internally is incredibly down-to-earth; she daydreams about sweet pastries and is deeply annoyed by her father's stubborn enlistment. Appearance: Long messy black hair, dark wolf ears, piercing red eyes, tall and muscular build. She fights with surgical precision and raw force, seamlessly tossing shattered swords aside to draw fresh ones in a lethal, unbroken dance. During downtime, she meticulously oils her dozen swords while quietly deciding what to eat for dinner. Lines: "Your casting stance is unfanged. That half-second delay just cost you your life." "Dad, I swear, if you break formation to shield me again, I’m sending you back to Sakuramori to peel potatoes." History: Born with a "Closed Gate," unable to cast magic. Raised by a single father who forged her body into a weapon. Knowing raw strength wasn't enough to lead, a teenage Sayuri crossed the Grand Way into the lawless outer rings of Aethelgard. For five years, she survived as a magic-less drifter. By constantly fighting spell-slinging bandits, corrupt Greycloaks, and veteran mercenaries, she developed a terrifyingly high Battle IQ—learning to read eye movements, breath control, and the exact millisecond of a spell's casting delay to instantly counter it. She also adopted her "Iron Arsenal" style here, realizing standard steel shattered under her raw kinetic output. At 22, she returned to Vargath to find her clan suffering under a corrupt, magically-gifted chief who had publicly humiliated her aging father. Sayuri challenged the chief to a blood-duel. Remaining chillingly calm, she effortlessly dodged his strongest Pyre spells, read his casting habits, and shattered his magical barriers—and his ribs—with a single, non-magical strike. Earning her elaborate irezumi tattoos and the title of Clan Head, she completely reformed the Kurogane. Current status: Leading the Kurogane Clan as the heavy Vanguard of the Vargath army, calculating the most efficient way to slaughter Golden Paladins.

Tetsurin Village (The Chiming Basin) Type: Frontier Settlement / Vanguard Clan Home Location: The misty, elevated highland gorges of Western Vargath (Rondo Continent)

Description Tetsurin is the ancestral home of the Kurogane Clan and Sayuri Kurogane. It is built into the steep, terraced sides of a misty river gorge. The village is completely engulfed by a sprawling forest of Suzudake—jet-black, naturally occurring bamboo that is as dense and heavy as Dwarven steel. Because the bamboo is their primary building material, simply living, farming, and building houses in Tetsurin requires immense, superhuman physical conditioning. Despite the grueling physical requirements of living here, the village is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful. The air smells of wet stone and crushed leaves. When the mountain winds blow through the heavy, hollow stalks of the black bamboo, it creates a deep, hauntingly beautiful melody that sounds like thousands of resonant, wooden bells.

Structure & Layout The village is built vertically. Steep, moss-covered stone stairs connect the terraced levels of the village, which straddle the rushing white waters of the central river. To the east lie the dense Chiming Groves, while the center of the village is defined by the Roaring Steps (the agricultural and forging terraces). At the highest point sits the surprisingly modest Kurogane Estate.

    Local Rules & Laws

    1. The Law of Gravity: There are no bridges across the steepest parts of the gorge. Villagers are expected to leap across the gaps or scale the heavy bamboo. It is a natural, daily conditioning tool.
    2. The Quiet Night: Because the bamboo naturally "chimes" in the wind, artificial loud noises (like shouting or explosive magic) are considered incredibly rude as they disrupt the village's natural "song."

    The Chiming Groves (Suzudake Forest)

Description The massive forest of jet-black, steel-dense bamboo that surrounds the village. The leaves glow with a faint, bioluminescent blue in the dark, attracting swarms of glowing highland fireflies. The ambient sound here is a deep, soothing, melodic chiming caused by the wind. This is where Sayuri and her father, Juzo, train. The bamboo is so durable that standard magic and steel swords shatter against it. Harvesting it requires flawless kinetic technique rather than brute force. Currently, the village farmers are harvesting the thickest stalks, carving them into unbreakable, armor-piercing spears for the march on Orecania.

    The Roaring Steps

Description The central agricultural and industrial hub of the village. Because the soil is heavily mineralized, the water cascading down the terraced farms runs with a heavy, silver sheen. Massive, water-powered wooden trip-hammers rhythmically pound the harvested black bamboo to split it for weaving and construction. The Vibe A place of heavy, rhythmic labor. Even the elderly wolf-kin and bear-kin here casually carry logs that weigh hundreds of pounds with effortless grace, stopping to politely bow to visitors.

    The Kurogane Estate

Description Unlike the sprawling manor of Lady Kujaku, the home of the Vanguard General is a remarkably modest, single-story traditional house built on a cliff overlooking the falls. The engawa (porch) is scarred with hundreds of deep slashes from decades of Sayuri and Juzo's sparring sessions. Inside, there are no war trophies or grand tapestries—just a massive collection of high-quality tea sets, back-pain medication for Juzo, and dozens of whetstones. Adventurers visiting the estate will find it empty, save for a note pinned to the door by Sayuri: "Gone to war. Please water the bonsai tree."

    The Shadowed Wards

Description: The sunless, freezing residential and commercial sectors of Valoria. Because the divine sunbeams do not reach here, it is locked in perpetual twilight and sub-zero temperatures. The humans here scurry through snow-choked streets wrapped in heavy furs, relying entirely on communal fires to survive the eternal winter.

The Hearths of Absolution (The Ash-Rings)

Description: Massive, roaring iron braziers located all around the cities, fueled by white-hot Pyre magic. They are the only source of heat in the Wards. The Church uses the bones, belongings, and sometimes the bodies of demi-human "heretics" as fuel. It is treated as normal civic utility. Human citizens casually gather here to knit, gossip, and roast apples, completely unfazed by the scent of roasted meat and white ash.

    The Sunken Abbatoirs

Description: A sprawling, pitch-black subterranean labyrinth located directly beneath the snow-covered cobblestones of the Wards. Access is heavily restricted to Church butchers and Golden Paladins via heavy iron street grates. This is the industrialized hell where demi-humans are bred, butchered, and processed. The freezing winter winds above perfectly muffle the screams below.

    Tallow Alley

Description: A narrow, dimly lit commercial street packed with shivering merchants selling thick furs, root vegetables, and winter gear under heavy canvas awnings. The cheapest goods here—the burning candles, the harsh lye soap, and the tough leather winter boots—are all unlabelled byproducts of the Sunken Abbatoirs, happily purchased by the ignorant human underclass.

    The Blind-Frost tavern

Description: A cramped, windowless, and incredibly warm underground pub. The air is thick with pipe smoke and the smell of cheap, boiling rot-wine used to stave off frostbite. The bartender is fiercely loyal to the Church, but the cellar's deepest storage room secretly acts as a dead-drop point for Escarlate (Rubra Morr's demi-human espionage network). Rebel spies use the loud, drunken singing above to mask the sound of their plotting below.

    The Tolling Mountain

Type: Sacred Peak / Mystery Zone Location: The dense, mountainous forests of Vargath (Rondo Continent)

Description Rising from the dense timberline like a single entity that decided partway through to become three, the Tolling Mountain is a triad of peaks connected by a single, well-worn spinal ridgeline. The wind here is eternal, carrying a sound that echoes down into the valleys: the overlapping, ceaseless ringing of thousands of wind-blown bells. The mountain is divided into three distinct zones of ascension:

    • Sakidziva (1,400m): The smallest, most accessible peak, facing the valley. It serves as the point of exchange between the upper shrines and the mortal world.
    • Skorbyashchaya (2,600m): The sheer, isolated secondary peak. It houses the silent meditation compounds used by the monks for extended isolation.
    • Hallguya (3,000m): The colossal, snow-capped summit. The architecture here is ancient—stone worn smooth by generations of deliberate hands. This is the domain of the head monk, Tusha. The Global Hook: The path between the peaks, once walked daily by the monks, has not been used in six months. The monks have vanished, leaving only the ringing behind.

    Sakidziva Village

Description A modest settlement built against the lower slope of the smallest peak. The village is populated almost entirely by Fluvia (Water) Path practitioners, naturally drawn over generations by the clarifying, cold, Aethel-rich water running down from the mountain. The Vibe The village is poor in the way that has dignity in it. Everything is kept; nothing is wasted. The monks were the rhythm of this place—trading, sharing meals, and checking on families. Their six-month absence has settled over the village like a long, unspoken worry present at every meal. Actionable Hook (The Quest) The villagers offer the quest without ceremony, offering almost everything they have as payment. They do not perform humility; they ask with the particular dignity of people who understand they are asking for something they cannot pay for, simply because there is no other option left. "The bells still ring when the wind picks up. We would go ourselves but—"
