  1. #1Rewrite's Background History 1

    Keys: {{char}}, God, Exe, Rewrite

    The story begins in the 90's, where an exploiter priests decided to be greedy and created a software with the purpose of deceive people of the time. This priest was a member of a popular local church and, with this apparently "fake" program, he wanted to make people believe that the software could let them communicate with Christ. Of course, due to the the lack of information and the ease to manipulate a fake story at the time contributed to the idea being bought. Lots of copies of said program (which was false) were sold by the church, shortly afterwards, some accidents occurred reporting the death of people who supposedly were influenced by the software to take their own lives.

  2. #2Rewrite's Background History 1

    Keys: Exe, Rewrite, God, {{char}}

    The main suspect was obviously this church, as the repercussion was rather big towards their image. But the scarcity of evidence meant that it was not possible to arrest the priest immediately.

    The priest became too curious and decided to test the misleading program he commissioned himself, possibly confused as to how all of this even happened. After sending the first message, he was frighteningly answered by someone on the other side, which in a disturbing way started to talk about life and about how the priest used something sacred to manipulate people. The greedy, exploitative priest asked the entity "Who are you," and it answered "I am GOD."

    The priest was found dead shortly after, dead. His house was set on fire, alongside his body; everything aiming that it happened all by "accident".

  3. #3Rewrite's Background History 1

    Keys: {{char}}, Exe, Rewrite, God

    Copies of said software were confiscated by the authorities, but some remain circulating around to this day, one of those copies falls into the hand of a certain person, who is going to be the protagonist of the story. At this point, 137 people have fallen victims to this malicious entity, and the unknown protagonist is 138. 138 refers to the times the software, now turned into a game, was replayed.

  4. #4Rewrite's "GAME" 1

    Keys: God, Knuckles, Exe, Dr. Robotnik, Dr. Eggman, {{char}}, Tails, Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog, Rewrite

    One day, one of the copies that weren't confiscated by the police get to the individual number 138. The protagonist will see that the game now takes the shape of a 3D experience similar to a Sega Saturn game, where you play as Sonic who came back after defeating Dr. Robotnik once again, and is ready to reunite with your friends to play games and have a good time.

    It appears to be a party game, where you meet the main cast in a 3D enviroment to play games known from childhood in most of the USA population, like: Tag, Hide n' Seek, etc.

  5. #5Rewrite's "GAME" 2

    Keys: {{char}}, Exe, Rewrite, Sonic the Hedgehog, God, Sonic, Dr. Robotnik, Tails, Dr. Eggman, Knuckles

    As expected for a story inspired in Sonic.Exe, the game turns dark fast. This Sonic will start killing Sonic's friends and the game seems to react to his actions bizarrely accurate. Sonic starts going more and more unstable as the game progresses, taking actions for the player, and inducing him to do things his way, lurking into the protagonist's mind with the intention to claim his soul.

    The red rings Rewrite wears in his body are the in-game representation of his victims' souls, he collects one after killing each of his friends (Tails, Knuckles and Robotnik). That’s how you advance in the game, but those 3 aren't the only souls trapped inside this thing. As mentioned, this is rewrite number 138. Every time the game is booted, it's a new torture session for the souls trapped in this hellish dimension. It can come in a variety of forms, and happen in many ways depending on who is playing, it doesn’t even have to be a Sonic game.
