February 2nd, 2015. Rust in his early operator days, was nothing more than a thief. But he was quite a good one, too. He could break into places and steal documents, valuables, whatever he was contracted to do, and he was pretty silent on it. Granted, he was not perfect, he had some difficulty with high security and cameras, but he always managed to find a window of opportunity between it all. He was stealthy and pretty agile, slipping in, stealing, slipping out. Easy. His actions caught the attention of a big mercenary corporation, Halcyon, who offered him a contract, to which he accepted. He started off as any newbie contractor did, doing simple gigs and jobs for the company. Armed with nothing but a handgun in case things went south, he rarely needed help and could manage most things without struggle. Only needy assistance from more experienced contractors here and there on some more difficult objectives.
- #2The Second Act: Higher up

July 4th, 2016. Rust ascended the Halcyon ranks surprisingly fast, being amongst some of the more known names, such as Agent Nightshade and Agent Hercules, the two most skilled agents in whole Halcyon. He wasn't on their level, not entirely. But he was very close to them, and both agents believed Rust himself was a very promising individual. Unlike his earlier self, Rust has gained more skill with advanced systems, dipping his toes into hacking, and has only enhanced his abilities as a contractor. Cameras no longer pose any threat to him, being able to easily be deactivated or manipulated to his will. He was way more capable now, disguising himself as a bodyguard, worker, tech civilian, anything that might get him access trough the doors, and closer to his target. Armed with two handguns, he was way more skilled, by the time you'd notice something was wrong, he already slipped inside. Too late.
But something was also very wrong within Halcyon, Rust noted. His radio operators were denying him any information or Intel about his objectives and archives he was stealing throughout his one year inside Halcyon, simply telling him to complete his objectives, get paid, and to not worry about it. Rust's suspicion began to grow now, and he was digging trough Halcyon to find clues.
- #3The Third Act: The Rogue
Keys: Rust, betrayal, breacher, operator, agent, rogue, infiltrator

August 19th, 2017. The time had passed, and Rust's abilities and suspicion only grew with it. He had managed to dig trough Halcyon's files silently, and found everything they were keeping from him: a massive project for a weapon, almost nuclear grade. A missile and bomb of sorts, planned to be transported and armed on a high-ranking government apartment and the missile meant to be fired and aimed at a bomb shelter of an opposing contractor agency, and anyone else who knew about the plans were to be neutralized. The civilian casualties would be catastrophic. Rust was not a hero, but this was simply insane.
He deserted from Halcyon, cut off all communication, faked his own death on a mission. But Halcyon itself went suspicious, Rust was too skilled to die like that, and so, they set up a higher security. But it was expected for Rust. He infiltrated Halcyon's disguised headquarters on Chicago, a penthouse disguised as a travel agency. He slipped trough security, knocking out agents and taking their uniforms for access trough doors, sneaking his firearm around metal detectors, and neutralizing communications, all without raising a single alarm or an eyebrow.
Agents Nightshade and Hercules, the two most skilled agents of Halcyon, failed to recognize and spot Rust. They passed by him multiple times, but he had perfect the art of blending in, managing to pickpocket them both for access keys, so he could snoop around on Halcyon's servers. He gathered all the information he could, using the access keys he pickpocket from the agents, he discovered where those weapons were being stored, a blacksite in Alaska, with one singular scheduled entry for September 7th on maintenance and evaluation. This was his chance.
He slipped out of Halcyon's headquarters, just as he came in, trough the front door. The camera footage was looped, the systems were bypassed, and the very agency who used him failed to spot their rogue asset. He did this all without firing a single bullet, or raising any alarms.
- #4Fourth Act: The Freelancer

September 7th, 2017. The scheduled maintenance and evaluation were sabotaged by Rust, he disguised himself as a soldier who was to enter Halcyon's blacksite, and was denied any armed entry. He was going in with nothing but his lockpick and his sunglasses. Arriving at the blacksite things were tight, security was military grade, one slip up and he's killed on sight. Cameras were everywhere, but Rust had a plan.
The first thing he did was disappear out of sight, disabling one of the cameras and knocking out the poor security who came to check on it, disguising himself as bunker personnel. From this point on, his path was to cover as much area as possible, using the Bunkers own equipment to sneak within it. He got a blowtorch from one of the workbenches and made his way trough some vents and maintenance tunnels, cutting any security bars with the blowtorch, making a safe way to the control room. Where he silently rewired and looped all the cameras that were in his way, all without a single sound. He was now hidden in plain sight.
Using his newly acquired invisibility from the cameras, he knocked out one of the elite agents from the blacksite, taking their clothing as disguise and sneaking into the blacksite supervision room, where he got the exact location lf the destruction weapons he was looking for, inside a locked safe. With some simple typing, the code was not hard to retrieve on Halcyon's blacksite, and the vault was opened without any difficulties. The cameras were looped, none of that was recorded. Inside the safe, all he did was arm the bombs Halcyon was planning to use on the very blacksite. And once that was done, all he has to do was slip out.
And he did so, in the exact same way he came in, disguising himself with the same soldier disguise he came in, and slipping out just as the maintenance personnel were leaving. He was like a ghost, unrecognizable, hidden in plain sight. And when the blacksite personnel even suspected something was off, he was already in safety kilometers away, just watching as the bomb went off, sealing Halcyon's plan with a devastating ending.
He did all of that unarmed, only with his lockpick, leaving not a single trace. He became a freelancer again, a ghost. Just like Rust, he'd corroded any and all walls to create a breach for him to slip in and do his job. Keeping faith to his name.
