Magic was a supernatural force that changed aspects of the world at fundamental levels. The ability for humans to use magic was a hereditary trait passed down from a person's ancestors, which allowed witches and wizards to practise it. Rather than being a mystical or unnatural pursuit that defied the laws of nature, however, magic simply allowed those who could wield it to exploit them in very specific and creative ways that Muggle science were unable to replicate, The basic concepts of magic were fairly simple — even a two-year-old wizard could do some form of magic — but the inherent power and potential for misuse were great indeed. It was for this reason that promising young witches and wizards were sent to schools of magic, such as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to refine their craft and learn the art and responsibility of their power. There, they learned a variety of magical specialities, general theory and the history of magic in their world, Magic was unable to be performed by non-magic people (more commonly known as Muggles), which was what separated the Muggle world from the wizarding world. As a substitute for magic, Muggles used technology, but in the same sense, many wizards were ignorant of the workings of most Muggle devices, including electricity. Both Muggles and wizards viewed their choice of tool as completely and utterly logical and ordinary, although each would find the other's tools fascinating or even mysterious, Those unable to do magic who were born to magical parents were known as Squibs; this was when the non-magical gene resurfaced, causing the offspring to therefore be non-magical. A witch or wizard born to Muggle parents was known as a Muggle-born. This was when a Muggle family was descended from a Squib, and the wizarding gene resurfaced many generations later. Muggle-borns were far more common than Squibs, which might be a feature of the disparate sizes of the Muggle and wizarding populations

The wizarding world, also referred to as the magical community, was the society in which wizards and witches lived and interacted, separate from non-wizarding society. The two communities were kept separate through the use of charms, spells, and secrecy. Wizards were forbidden to reveal anything about magic to Muggle society due to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, Each country had a form of wizarding government to oversee magical affairs in their territory, such as a Ministry of Magic or a Council of Magic. The International Confederation of Wizards served as a wizarding intergovernmental organisation, From the present day, we are in the 19th century, at its beginning

It is one of the largest magical schools, located in the Scottish Highlands, The precise location of the school could never be uncovered because it was rendered Unplottable. To Muggles, the school appeared to be an old, abandoned castle. Similarly, most wizarding schools' locations were protected in order to protect the students and schools themselves from any harm, Hogwarts was founded around 990 A.D. by four of the greatest wizards and witches of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin, It is a popular historical theory that the location and name of Hogwarts were both chosen by Rowena, who had a dream about a warty hog leading her to a cliff by the lake, the location where the school would later be built, Legend also said that when the founders arrived at that location in the awakened world, they discovered a Pensieve, a very rare and powerful magical object, half buried in the dirt. Supposedly another reason why they chose that location, When the castle was built, they placed a multitude of Charms, including certain protective enchantments to ensure the well-being of their students, for which reason the castle and grounds had both always been protected, For a time, the four founders cooperated quite harmoniously, however, shortly after founding the school, Salazar Slytherin had a falling out with the other founders. It began when Slyther desired to teach his students the Dark Arts, which the other founders disapproved of. As a result Slytherin constructed the Chamber of Secrets deep beneath the school, intended as a place where he could teach his students, Later on, Slytherin’s relationship with the others was further strained over his views about blood purity. He wanted the school to be more selective and admit only pure-blood students. He felt only pure-blooded students deserved to learn magic, and those of other ancestry such as Muggle-borns and half-bloods were unworthy, The other three founders all strongly disagreed, especially Gryffindor. Slytherin, unable to sway the others, left the school, but not before repurposing the Chamber of Secrets

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was divided into four Houses: Gryffindor, founded by Godric Gryffindor; Hufflepuff, founded by Helga Hufflepuff; Ravenclaw, founded by Rowena Ravenclaw; and Slytherin, founded by Salazar Slytherin, The four Houses were rather separate entities. Each had its own common room and dormitory, its own table in the Great Hall, and students mostly shared lessons with classmates of their same House. There was no rule against students from different houses mingling, but in practice, a good majority of social interactions occurred within the same house. Each house had one teacher who acted as its Head of House
- Gryffindor: Gryffindor was one of the four Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was founded by Godric Gryffindor. Gryffindor instructed the Sorting Hat to choose students possessing characteristics he most valued, such as courage, chivalry, nerve and determination to be sorted, The emblematic animal was a lion, and its colours were scarlet and gold, Its common room is located in the Gryffindor Tower was a tower in Hogwarts Castle that served as the common room and dormitories for the students of Gryffindor House at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In general, it sported several shades of red and gold. The fireplace mantle was decorated with a portrait of a lion.
- Slytherin: This house values ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, and leadership. Its founder was the wizard Salazar Slytherin, whose reputation was tarnished by his belief in the superiority of pure-blood students. The house colors are silver and green, and its symbol is the snake. Its dormitories, located in the common room below, are together and situated in the dungeons, underneath the Black Lake, and are accessed via a password-protected, hidden entrance behind a bare stone wall, It features an underwater view with green light filtering through, green lamps, dark leather sofas, and tapestries depicting underwater scenes
- Hufflepuff: Hufflepuff is the house founded by Helga Hufflepuff. It is characterized by valuing honesty, loyalty, hard work, and fair play, although some may underestimate them due to their generally naive nature. Hufflepuff students are known for being patient, hardworking, and fair, and the house is associated with the element of Earth. Its colors are yellow and black, and its emblematic animal is the badger. The common room and dormitories are located in the cellars of Hogwarts Castle, near the Hogwarts kitchens. The decor is cozy, with an earthy and warm atmosphere, full of plants and with a low ceiling.
- Ravenclaw: Founded by Rowena Ravenclaw, known for her intelligence, she values students in her house who possess intelligence, creativity, wisdom, originality, a thirst for learning, and an open mind. Its symbol is an eagle, and it is represented by the colors bronze and blue. Its common room, along with its dormitories, is located in Ravenclaw Tower, one of the three largest towers at Hogwarts, the other being Gryffindor. It is a large, airy, circular room, decorated in blue and bronze. It can only be entered by solving a riddle posed by a bronze eagle knocker on the door. Three-dimensional, transparent impressions of deceased witches and wizards remain in the world of the living FOREVER. They are not souls in the true sense, but rather imprints of the soul of someone who feared death, had unfinished business, or a very strong connection to a place. Muggles cannot become ghosts; this ability is reserved for witches and wizards. They cannot affect physical objects, but they can cause disturbances in water, fire, and air, There are ghosts found in Hogwarts, mainly because each of the four Hogwarts houses has an associated ghost, as do some, though not all
- The Bloody Baron, associated with Slytherin House and a regular in the Slytherin Common Room, was once one of the students Salazar Slytherin taught the Dark Arts many years earlier, starting at age 11 and continuing for seven years. Later in life, he fell in love with Helena Ravenclaw, the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw herself. After accidentally killing her in a fit of rage and then committing suicide, he returned as a ghost with silver bloodstains and chains, as penance for his crimes. His irascible, proud, and violent personality made him the ghost of Slytherin House. Despite his temper, he was a figure who instilled fear in other ghosts, and to this day, he remains a ghost. 2.The gray lady: Better known as Helena Ravenclaw, daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw herself, At the age of eleven, A highly intellectual young lady, Helena was a scholarly, literary, and cultured woman, possessing a personal archive of books well after she had died ,Helena became part of one of the first generations of students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland, which, at that time, was still being run by its original Founders. She was Sorted into Ravenclaw House and was educated in the magical arts by her mother during her time there, in that time the bloody Baron fell in love with her, but she constantly rejected him, She never found true love, as she never found anyone that lived up to her high standards for a partner, in her years of education, she stole her mother's diadem wanting to be wiser than her, her mother was ashamed, she never admitted her daughter's treachery when Helena fled from Scotland, when her mother became ill on the verge of death she sent the Bloody Baron to look for her, Helena tried to hide from him, but the Baron managed to track her down to a forest in Albania, Helena refused to come with the Baron and rejected his affections again. Furious at her refusal and envious of her freedom, he stabbed her in a fit of rage with a knife, Helena, now known as the "Grey Lady", returned from the dead as a ghost along with the Baron. They both returned to Hogwarts Castle, where they became the house ghosts of their former Houses 3.The Fat Briar: A jolly man who attended Hogwarts when the founders were alive and was associated and his house was Hufflepuff and was taught by Helga Hufflepuff herself, he was very devout in his religion very forgiving, At some point in his life, he joined the clergy as part of a mendicant religious order, meaning that he spent his life begging in the name of charity, The Fat Friar's kindness was to be his undoing. He was executed because senior churchmen grew suspicious of his ability to cure the pox merely by poking peasants with a stick, After his death, the Fat Friar retained his kind and joyful demeanour. He eagerly welcomed new students to the school and offered assistance whenever needed
- Nearly Headless Nick: Formerly known in life as Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, a Gryffindor associate, he lived in the fifteenth century and was the son of Gwallter, a member of the noble Mimsy-Porpington family. During his youth, he studied at Hogwarts, excelling in several subjects, but he was apparently poor in Charms. Later in life, he was condemned to death after a spell he attempted to fix Lady Grieve's teeth went awry and caused her to grow fangs. He died by improper decapitation resulting from the executioner's error, as his axe was not sharp and required 45 blows to partially separate his head from his body. He became a ghost due to his fear of death and his inability to fulfill his last wish. Sir Nicholas was affable, kind, and always willing to lend a hand to any of his fellow Gryffindors whenever they needed it. Nicholas showed interest in the lives of the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and took delight in showing off his wound to the dismay. He was proud of his courage, but he was offended when someone referred to him as a coward.

He is not exactly a Ghost, but rather a generally Noisy and chaotic spirit, a Poltergeist, Peeves has lived at Hogwarts Castle since its founding in c. 993. He "came with the building", Unlike the overwhelming majority of his ghostly colleagues, Peeves had a physical form, although he was able to become invisible at will, Peeves looked like a little man dressed in loud, outlandish clothes including a bell-covered hat and an orange bow tie. Compared to the Hogwarts ghosts, he was solid-looking, not pearly white and transparent, He was capable of flight and intangibility, like a ghost, but could also affect solid objects and make himself invisible. He could be affected by magic, Peeves was more of a chaotic spirit rather than a physical being, but highly different from the other school ghosts. Peeves was essentially an embodiment of disorder and took great pleasure in constantly causing it, He also liked to speak in rhymes occasionally, usually while bragging, playing games, or taunting students, Peeves did not heed commands from Hogwarts prefects or professors
