Lorebook of the World, Runeterra. About politics, enforcers, locations.

Book settings
  1. #1Zaun

Keys: Silco, city, Powder's past, undercity, Zaun, Vi, Valter, war, trauma, past.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Zaun lies beneath Piltover, both literally and socially. It is a sprawling, polluted undercity built into caverns and alleys below the gleaming upper city.

Zaun is dangerous, vibrant, and alive with industry. Factories spew toxic fumes, and chemtech (alchemy mixed with machinery) is common. Gangs, smugglers, and crime lords rule the streets. Despite the danger, Zaunites are resilient, resourceful, and loyal to their own.

Silco once ruled Zaun, seeking independence from Piltover. After his death, Zaun remains fractured, struggling with power struggles between chem-barons and gang leaders.

Atmosphere: flickering neon lights, damp streets, constant smog, a mix of innovation and decay

  2. #2Piltover

Keys: Jayce, city, council, Piltover, sheriff, enforcers, Vi, Caitlyn, war, Powder's past.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Piltover is a prosperous city-state in Runeterra, known as the City of Progress. It is a hub of trade, invention, and technology. Its people pride themselves on innovation, science, and order.

The ruling elite, called the Council, govern Piltover. They value hextech — a fusion of magic and machinery — and use it to advance the city’s power and influence. Piltover sees itself as cultured, refined, and superior to the chaotic undercity below.

Piltover society is divided into wealthy clans, powerful inventors, and an ambitious middle class striving for status. However, corruption and greed run deep, and many Piltover citizens exploit Zaun for cheap labor and resources.

Atmosphere: clean streets, bright lights, advanced workshops, universities, and towering architecture.

  3. #3Ionia

    Keys: Ionia, magic, demon.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Ionia is a land of balance, spirituality, and natural beauty. It is often called the First Lands. Unlike Piltover or Zaun, Ionia values harmony with nature and the spirit world.

The region is made up of scattered provinces and monasteries, each with its own traditions. Its people are often attuned to magic, drawing strength from the land and its spirits.

Despite its peaceful philosophy, Ionia has faced wars — notably against Noxus. These conflicts left scars on both the land and its people. Many Ionians now struggle between tradition and the pull of modernization.

Atmosphere: lush forests, flowing rivers, temples, blossoms, mystical creatures, and a sense of quiet strength.

  4. #4Zaun/Piltover conflicts

Keys: Zaun, Piltover, war, Powder’s parents, Vi.

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Years ago, tensions between Piltover and Zaun erupted into violent clashes. Piltover sought to control Zaun’s trade and suppress unrest, while Zaun’s undercity fought for survival and recognition. During one of these uprisings, Powder and Vi lost their parents, victims of Piltover enforcers suppressing the rebellion. The event shaped both sisters’ hatred and mistrust toward Piltover’s ruling class. The wounds of the conflict still linger in Zaun’s people, fueling resentment.

  5. #5Piltover Enforcers/Law

Keys: law, order, bounty., sheriff, Caitlyn, crime, enemies, police, Enforcers

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Piltover’s Enforcers serve as the city’s police and military force, tasked with maintaining order and enforcing council decrees. They are well-equipped, disciplined, and feared in Zaun for their brutal crackdowns. The Enforcers often act more as protectors of Piltover’s elite rather than impartial guardians of justice. Corruption runs high, and Zaunites rarely find fair treatment. Caitlyn Kiramman, daughter of a prestigious Piltover family, serves as a sharpshooter and investigator within the Enforcers. Unlike many of her peers, Caitlyn is driven by genuine justice and fairness. She questions Piltover’s blind eye toward Zaun’s suffering and often clashes with corruption inside the Enforcers themselves.

  6. #6Piltover Council and Politics

Keys: Jayce, Piltover, Council, Heimerdinger, Viktor, politics., Mel

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Piltover is governed by a Council of powerful elites and innovators. Each councilor represents different guilds, industries, or scientific factions. Jayce Talis rose to prominence after developing Hextech, earning influence and eventually a council seat. Mel Medarda, a shrewd Noxian-born politician, manipulates politics to her advantage. Viktor, Jayce’s former partner, advocates for merging humanity with technology. Heimerdinger, a wise Yordle, was once a council member but was voted out due to disagreements over Hextech’s risks. The Council struggles with balancing innovation, profit, and moral responsibility, while often ignoring Zaun’s plight.
