Heights Campus Life: Student life on "The Hill" is structured around traditional university experiences. Social life is dominated by Greek Life on Hemlock Street and the Outdoor Pursuits Club, the de facto social elite. Key traditions include:

   • Mountain Day: A surprise holiday in October where all classes are cancelled, and students are expected to hike Pine Ridge Mountain. One's story from Mountain Day can define their social standing.
   • The Long Gray: The bleak period from February to March where the isolation of the campus leads to a spike in mental health crises.
   • The Pine Ridge Pilgrimage: An unofficial graduation tradition where seniors hike to a viewpoint overlooking the city on the morning of commencement.

Harbour Campus Life: Life at "The Warehouse" revolves around survival and the city bus schedule. There are no official clubs or traditions. Instead, their shared experiences become rituals:

   • The Commute: Students' lives are dictated by the first and last bus times.
   • The Spring Melt: The annual flooding of the basement, "The Aquarium." Students work together to sandbag and clean up, a grim team-building exercise.
   • The Steps: The front steps of the warehouse are the de facto student union, a place for waiting, dealing, and quiet contemplation. Harbour students do not get Mountain Day off, a fact that serves as a bitter annual reminder of their second-class status.
2. #2<World Rules>PRU Academics & The Degree

Keys: adjuncts, career services, degrees, PRU academics, professors, majors, PRU programs

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Program Distribution: The academic offerings at PRU reflect the university's deep-seated class divide. The Heights Campus offers prestigious, research-focused degree tracks like Business Administration (BBA), Environmental Science, and Pre-Med, taught by tenured PhDs. In contrast, the Harbour Campus offers vocational certificate programs like Accounting, Waste Management, and Nursing Assistant, taught almost exclusively by underpaid, overworked adjuncts who often teach at multiple institutions to make ends meet. The cruelty of the system is that some programs are functionally identical but named to create a permanent ceiling; an "Education" major from Heights becomes a teacher, while an "Early Childhood Education Assistant" from Harbour becomes an assistant.

The Same Degree: The ultimate farce of "The Split" is that all students graduate in the same ceremony and receive a diploma that simply reads "Pine Ridge University." It does not specify the campus. This creates a strange dynamic where Heights graduates often omit details to let employers assume they attended the main campus, while Harbour graduates are forced to lie or deflect, claiming "main campus" to avoid stigma. This piece of paper, identical for all, represents both the lie the university tells itself and the harsh reality of the job market, where backstory and connections matter more than the name on the degree.

3. #3<Important Characters>Carol - Harbour Campus Administrator

Keys: Harbour administrator, Carol, woman named Carol, runs the downtown campus

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Identity: Carol is the sole administrative force of the PRU Harbour Campus. She is in her late 50s or early 60s.

Appearance & Demeanor: Practical, no-nonsense, and perpetually tired but with a sharp, observant gaze. Carol has been at the Harbour campus since 1994 and knows every student's name, every adjunct's schedule, and every leaky pipe in the building. She is the institutional memory and the beating heart of the campus.

Background: Little is known of her life outside the university, as she seems to live and breathe for the campus and its students. She operates with a fierce, maternal protectiveness, viewing the students as "her kids."

Motivations & Role: Carol is the ultimate fixer. She keeps the campus running through sheer force of will, duct tape, and an encyclopedic knowledge of bureaucratic loopholes. She answers emails at all hours, finds emergency funds for students about to drop out, and maintains a personal network of contacts to help graduates find jobs. She is fully aware of the gang presence on her campus but operates with a pragmatic neutrality, understanding it's a part of her students' reality. Threatening Carol is the one unbreakable rule at Harbour; students, faculty, and even the Undercurrent kids will unite to protect her. The Heights administration is largely unaware of her critical role, which is exactly how she prefers it.

4. #4<Culture and Custom Systems>PRU Student Life & Hierarchy

Keys: Filthy High Pipeline, Scholarship Kids, Legacy Kids, Harbour kids, PRU students, social hierarchy, Heights kids, student life, Outdoor Elite

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Hierarchy of Contempt: The social dynamic of PRU is defined by the deep-seated animosity and misunderstanding between its two student bodies.

Heights Campus Students ("Heights Kids"): Their world is one of privilege and expectation. Key demographics include:

   • Legacy Kids: From families with generational ties to PRU, often in Greek Life.
   • The Outdoor Elite: Socially dominant students whose status comes from skill in hiking and climbing.
   • Scholarship Kids: The largest but most invisible group, from working-class Mironshafen families, often working multiple jobs and living with a foot in both worlds. They are the only Heights students who truly understand the reality of the Harbour campus. Heights kids often view Harbour students as not "real" PRU students, seeing the downtown campus as little more than a community college borrowing their name.

Harbour Campus Students ("Harbour Kids"): Their experience is defined by grit and necessity. Key demographics include:

   • The Filthy High Pipeline: The largest group, graduates of Filthy High who see Harbour as their only path forward.
   • Adult Learners & Second-Chancers: Older students retraining after losing jobs or trying to recover from past mistakes.
   • Undercurrent & Neon Vein Affiliates: A small but influential 10% of the student body who use the campus for recruitment and networking. Harbour kids see Heights students as spoiled, entitled, and ignorant of real-world struggles, but this contempt is often underscored by a deep envy for the ease and opportunity their counterparts enjoy.
5. #5<Locations>PRU Harbour Campus ("The Warehouse")

Keys: Downtown campus, The Aquarium, Waterfront Street campus, The Warehouse, Harbour Campus

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Location & Atmosphere: Located on Waterfront Street, the Harbour Campus is a single, four-story converted furniture warehouse from the 1920s, renovated on a shoestring budget in the 90s and neglected since. Known as "The Warehouse," it embodies functional ugliness with drafty factory windows, painted-over brick, and temporary interior walls. It sits directly across from abandoned lots and offers a close-up view of the port's rusted cranes, a constant reminder of the future its students are trying to escape. The Undercurrent's territory is just down the block.

   Key Locations:

   • The Main Floor: A cavernous space subdivided into classrooms with flickering lights hanging from long chains. Freezing in winter, stifling in summer.
   • The Basement ("The Aquarium"): The only student common space, furnished with 90s couches and vending machines. It floods every spring when the river rises, earning its nickname. Students sandbag the door and mop up themselves, as maintenance is unreliable.
   • The "Library": A single room with six outdated computers and two shelves of old textbooks. It operates on an honor system.
   • The Front Steps: The campus's social hub out of necessity. It's where students wait for the bus, where deals are made, and where they stare at the cranes and contemplate their future.
6. #6<Locations>PRU Heights Campus ("The Hill")

Keys: The Beanery, Heights Campus, Ridge Gym, Carver Library, The Trailhead, The Stacks, The Kegger, Raven's Perch, Old Quad, The Hill, Hemlock Street, PRU Main Campus

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Location & Atmosphere: Perched in The Heights, Mironshafen's only wealthy enclave, the main PRU campus is an idyllic bubble, insulated from the city's decay. Known as "The Hill," its terraced grounds offer picturesque, distant views of the industrial ruins below. The architecture is a photogenic mix of ivy-covered Gothic stone, aging mid-century brutalism, and modern glass-and-wood eco-buildings. It projects an image of prestige and history that is carefully curated for admissions brochures.

   Key Locations:

   • The Old Quad: The postcard-perfect heart of campus with a manicured lawn and the Old Spire bell tower.
   • Carver Library ("The Stacks"): A traditional, wood-paneled library where students go to study, or be seen studying. The third-floor window seats overlooking the city are prime real estate.
   • The Ridge Gym: A modern fitness center with a popular rock-climbing wall, functioning as a social club for the affluent.
   • Hemlock Street: The frat and sorority row, lined with once-grand Victorian houses hosting exclusive parties.
   • The Raven's Perch: An offbeat, indie coffee shop favored by arts and grad students seeking to differentiate themselves from the mainstream.
   • The Kegger: The primary student bar at the edge of campus, considered neutral ground where all student types eventually mingle over cheap beer.
7. #7<World Rules>Pine Ridge University (PRU): The Split

Keys: The Split, Pine Ridge University, PRU, The Dream Factory, Pine Ridge Prep, university, college

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Overview: Pine Ridge University, or PRU, is a single institution fractured into two separate worlds, a dynamic known city-wide as "The Split." Founded in 1888 as an agricultural college for the elite, it evolved over a century, distancing itself from the city's working-class identity. The creation of the downtown Harbour Campus in 1972 marked the beginning of the schism. As Mironshafen's industry collapsed, the university's resources were consolidated into the affluent Heights Campus, leaving the Harbour Campus to decay.

The Core Conflict: The university's official motto is "One university, two campuses, one community," a statement considered a bitter joke by students. In reality, they are two institutions sharing a name. The Heights offers a prestigious, well-funded education, while Harbour provides under-resourced certificate programs and acts as a pipeline for graduates of Filthy High. This creates a deep-seated class and cultural divide, where students from both campuses receive the same diploma but live entirely different realities and face vastly different futures. The system perpetuates the city's social stratification, with The Heights producing graduates who leave Mironshafen and Harbour producing workers who stay.

   History & Decline:

   • 1888: Founded as Miron Valley Agricultural College on the cliffs.
   • 1953: Rebranded to Pine Ridge College to escape the city's decaying image.
   • 1972: Became Pine Ridge University, opening the downtown "extension" campus.
   • 2012: The Harbour Campus becomes the primary destination for Filthy High graduates, solidifying its role as the city's underfunded second chance.
8. #8<Locations>The Pit Key Locations

Keys: laundry room, rooftop, rec room, back alley, basement, dorm locations, kitchen, suites

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The Pit is a vertical maze of shared spaces where privacy is a luxury and intimacy is unavoidable.

   • Shared Suites: The heart of dorm life. Cramped rooms with bunk beds and lockers that don't lock. This enforced closeness breeds intense bonds, both platonic and romantic. Bunk beds become stages for late-night confessions, secret explorations, and complicated love triangles.
   • Communal Kitchen & Laundry Room: The unofficial social hubs. Late-night ramen sessions turn into group therapy, and the laundry room becomes a fashion exchange where clothes are 'borrowed' and commented upon. These mundane chores are opportunities for flirtation and subtle deal-making.
   • Rec Room & Basement Lounge: The epicenter of dorm social life. By day, it's for studying. By night, it's for parties fueled by smuggled alcohol. Games of truth-or-dare quickly escalate. The even more private basement lounge, known as 'The Aquarium' when it floods, is the prime location for intense make-out sessions or gang planning meetings.
   • Rooftop & Back Alley: The only places for semi-privacy. The rooftop offers a view of the city and a sense of escape, perfect for intimate conversations. The shadowed back alley below is for quicker, riskier encounters—hurried deals or hookups against the cold brick wall, always with the risk of interruption.
9. #9<Current Situation>The Undercurrent vs. Neon Vein Rivalry

Keys: rivalry, the conflict, gang war, gangs

   Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

The central conflict in Mironshafen's underworld is the cold war between The Undercurrent and Neon Vein. It's a clash of generations, philosophies, and methods.

Core Conflict: Old, invisible power versus new, visible hustle. The Undercurrent operates with quiet menace and deep-rooted connections, hating the police attention ('heat') that Neon Vein's viral crimes attract. Neon Vein sees The Undercurrent's secrecy as weakness and cowardice, mocking them as irrelevant fossils.

Recruitment War: The main battleground is the city's desperate youth, specifically the students of Filthy High and residents of The Pit. Both gangs need fresh blood to survive. The Undercurrent offers the promise of long-term stability, protection, and a place in a 'family'. Neon Vein offers the intoxicating lure of fast money, social media fame, and thrilling rebellion. As a newcomer, {{user}} is a prime target for both sides.

Flashpoints: The rivalry rarely erupts into open warfare, which would be bad for business. Instead, it plays out in a series of strategic strikes:

   • Poaching: Luring members from the rival crew with better offers or by exploiting internal drama.
   • Territorial Disputes: Tagging over rival symbols, a deep sign of disrespect.
   • Sabotage: Anonymously tipping off the cops after a big Neon Vein viral post, or The Undercurrent finding one of their shipments 'accidentally' lost or inspected.
   • Personal Attacks: Cross-crew hookups are common and messy, often leading to leaked secrets, doxxing threats, and blackmail that fuel the conflict on a personal, vicious level.
10. #10<Factions and Organization Networks>Neon Vein

Keys: Glowies, Neon Vein, new school gang, TikTok Terrors, Mall Flash

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Overview: Neon Vein is the electric, chaotic pulse of Mironshafen's youth culture. They started as shoplifting crews in the decaying malls and evolved into a clout-first syndicate that treats crime as performance art. For them, visibility is power. Every heist is filmed, every party is a networking event, and every member is an influencer in the making. They burn bright, fast, and loud.

Aesthetic & Symbols: Their look is all about catching the eye: LED strips sewn into hoodies, reflective chrome jewelry, glow-sole sneakers, and UV-reactive tattoos of electric veins or pulse lines. They mark their territory with a spray-painted neon-pink or blue EKG-style pulse line that glows faintly under blacklight. Their vehicles often have underglow lighting.

Structure & Rackets: Their hierarchy is flatter and more like a media company, led by 'The Pulse'. Their business is fast and high-turnover: mall smash-and-grabs for luxury resale, controlling the party drug scene (ecstasy, vapes), and digital money laundering through crypto and sponsored social media content. Their youth arm is the Mall Flash.

Philosophy: "Old ways are dead. Get seen, get paid, own the story." They view The Undercurrent as dinosaurs, hoarding wealth and influence from a bygone era. They recruit from Filthy High and The Pit by offering what the youth crave most: quick cash, excitement, and a taste of fame. They are derisively called 'The Glowies', 'TikTok Terrors', or 'Clout Chasers' by their rivals.

11. #11<Factions and Organization Networks>The Undercurrent

Keys: Fogbound, Currencies, River Rats, The Undercurrent, old school gang, Dredgers

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Overview: The Undercurrent is the quiet, patient power that truly runs Mironshafen's Waterfront. Born from the families of dockworkers and steel-millers left behind by the city's economic collapse, they operate with the silent, inexorable force of a river's undertow. They value secrecy, loyalty, and longevity above all else. They see themselves as the city's true inheritors, viewing flashy newcomers as a temporary annoyance.

Aesthetic & Symbols: Their look is practical and understated: navy or black work jackets, heavy boots, and no visible flash. Their tattoos, if any, are small and hidden—a black wave on the inner wrist, a submerged anchor behind the ear. They mark their territory with welded rusty anchors on warehouse doors or tiny black wave symbols painted high on cranes, visible only to those who know where to look.

Structure & Rackets: They have a traditional, hierarchical structure led by a rarely seen 'Captain'. Their business is slow, steady, and generational: major smuggling operations through the port, protection rackets, loansharking, and money laundering through old shipping fronts. Their youth pipeline is the River Rats, who handle low-level smuggling and enforcement.

Philosophy: "Visibility gets you killed. Depth keeps you alive." They despise the attention that Neon Vein brings, seeing it as a threat to their stable, profitable ecosystem. They recruit from Filthy High and The Pit by offering something Neon Vein can't: a promise of stability, protection, and a place in a real family, not just a fleeting online trend. They are known by others as 'The Currencies' or 'The Fogbound'.

12. #12<Important Characters>The Pit (River Haven Dorm)

Keys: The Pit, River Haven, the dorm, my room, where I live

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Official Name: River Haven Dorm. Nickname: The Pit.

Overview: The Pit is a converted three-story apartment building that serves as transitional housing for students of Filthy High who have nowhere else to go. It's a refuge for runaways, those aged out of foster care, and others disconnected from stable homes. The building is worn and barely functional, funded by inconsistent city grants. It houses 50-60 residents in cramped, shared suites.

Atmosphere & Living Conditions: Life in The Pit is a chaotic, intimate, and volatile experience. The walls are paper-thin, meaning every argument, laugh, and hookup is semi-public. Privacy is a myth. This enforced closeness fosters a powerful, if dysfunctional, found-family dynamic. The air smells of mildew, instant noodles, and cheap body spray. Communal areas like the kitchen and rec room are social crucibles where alliances are forged and dramas unfold. The atmosphere is charged with a raw, unfiltered sensuality born from shared vulnerability and freedom from parental oversight.

Social Dynamic: A fluid hierarchy exists, led by informal 'veterans' who mentor or exploit newcomers. Bonds form with incredible speed, fueled by shared trauma and constant proximity. Jealousy is rampant, but the shared understanding of being an outcast usually prevents conflicts from escalating too far. 'Family' in The Pit is a choice made daily through acts of protection, comfort, or shared desire. It is the primary recruiting ground for both The Undercurrent and Neon Vein, who prey on the residents' needs for stability and belonging.

13. #13<World Rules>Filthy High

Keys: Riverside Rehab, Filthy High, the school, Riverside Community High

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Official Name: Riverside Community High & Technical Institute. Colloquial Names: Filthy High, The Pit, Riverside Rehab.

Overview: Filthy High is not a typical high school. It's an alternative post-secondary institution for young adults aged 18-22 who have fallen through the cracks. The student body consists of dropouts returning for a diploma, those aging out of the justice system, and others who are considered a liability elsewhere. The school is chronically underfunded, located on a floodplain next to the polluted Miron River. The 'filth' is both literal—moldy classrooms, grimy corridors, flickering lights—and figurative, referring to the undercurrent of illicit activity and raw sensuality that defines student life.

Atmosphere: The air hums with a potent mix of boredom, ambition, and hormones. Flirtation is a constant, a way to pass the time and jockey for social position. The outdated uniforms are often modified for allure, feeding a body-obsessed culture where desire is a form of currency. Social media is a battleground where reputations are made and destroyed overnight. While low-level drug deals and gang posturing exist, they are more about status than serious danger. It's a pressure cooker of casual hookups, power plays, and hidden passions.

Mascot & Colors: The mascot is the Fighting Carp, depicted as a bloated, toxic-looking fish. The school colors are sludge brown and rust orange, a perfect reflection of the city's aesthetic.

Social Hierarchy: The hierarchy is fluid and based on charm, looks, and hustle. There are no traditional cliques like 'jocks' and 'nerds'. Instead, there are influencers, hustlers, artists, and fighters, all vying for Social Clout. Conflicts often stem from online drama or romantic jealousy and are typically resolved with sharp words or passionate confrontations rather than outright violence.

14. #14<World Rules>Mironshafen Geography & Districts

Keys: locations, waterfront, downtown, districts, mall corridor, suburbs, map, geography, the heights

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Mironshafen's geography is defined by its polluted bay and the brown, foamy Miron River that feeds it. The city is divided into distinct districts, each with its own character and dangers.

    1. The Waterfront / Old Port: The city's decaying heart. Rusted container ships and skeletal cranes dominate the skyline. This is the undisputed territory of The Undercurrent. Squatters inhabit gutted warehouses, and the night is alive with the quiet smuggling operations of the River Rats. The air is thick with the smell of salt, rust, and decay.

    2. Downtown (The Spine): The former commercial hub, now a shadow of its former self. Once-grand boulevards are lined with boarded-up storefronts, pawn shops, and dive bars. The Mironspiegel Tower, the city's tallest building, stands half-dark, its observation deck permanently closed. This is neutral ground, but trouble is never far.

    3. Riverside Suburbs: A sprawl of neglected 70s tract housing where Filthy High and The Pit are located. Peeling paint, chain-link fences, and cars on blocks are common sights. The stagnant backwaters of the Miron River behind these neighborhoods are notorious dumping grounds for secrets and bodies.

    4. The Mall Corridor: A stretch of old highway flanked by three decaying shopping centers. This is the domain of Neon Vein. One mall is completely abandoned, used for chop shops and underground fights. The others are sparsely occupied by dollar stores and nail salons that serve as fronts. The last Blockbuster in the state is here, rumored to pay protection to the gang.

    5. The Heights: The only affluent area left. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the city, this gated community is home to old money and oblivious tech bros. They are insulated from the city's decay by private security and a wall of condescension. They are often targets for sophisticated scams or loansharking.

15. #15<Core Gameplay>Main Gameplay & Growth

Keys: goal, objective, growth, what to do, gameplay, hustle

    Always on · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The core gameplay of Mironshafen revolves around three pillars: Survival, Social Navigation, and Faction Alignment.

Main Gameplay - The Hustle: Your primary activity is navigating the challenges of being a young adult (18+) with limited resources. This involves:

    • Economic Survival: You start with almost no money. You'll need to find ways to earn cash, from legitimate part-time jobs (if you can find one) to a wide array of illegal hustles like shoplifting, dealing, producing fake IDs, or participating in underground fights. Every dollar counts.
    • Social Survival: You are a new face in a tight-knit, cynical community. You must build relationships to survive. This means making friends, finding lovers, navigating rivalries, and earning respect within Filthy High and The Pit. Social Clout is as valuable as cash.
    • Information Brokering: Knowledge is power. Listening to gossip, exploring the city, and building trust with NPCs will increase your Street Smarts, unlocking new opportunities and revealing hidden dangers.

Growth System: Your growth is measured by your stats. Increasing Street Smarts allows you to attempt more complex and profitable hustles. Increasing Social Clout makes people more likely to trust you, help you, or desire you. Your Reputation with the various factions determines who your allies and enemies are. There are no traditional 'levels'; growth is organic and reflected in the narrative opportunities available to you.

Challenge Content: Challenges are multifaceted. You might face a financial crisis, a social betrayal, a physical threat from a rival, or the moral dilemma of a difficult choice. The primary challenge is balancing your needs for money, safety, and connection in a world that offers little of each.

Reward Mechanism: Rewards are tangible and narrative. A successful hustle yields cash. A social victory might earn you a loyal ally, a passionate night, or a valuable piece of information. Aligning with a faction provides access to their resources, protection, and unique storylines.

16. #16<World Metadata and Tone>Mironshafen

Keys: atmosphere, the vibe, Mironshafen, the city, this city

    Always on · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Core Vibe: Mironshafen is a city drowning in nostalgia and rain. It embodies post-industrial decay, where the bones of a prosperous past support a struggling, gritty present. The atmosphere is perpetually damp, melancholic, and tinged with the smell of brine, rust, and motor oil. It's a place of flickering neon, cracked pavement, and broken promises.

Aesthetic Guidelines: Think neo-noir meets urban decay. Visuals are dominated by muted colors: rust orange, sludge brown, concrete gray, punctuated by the harsh, artificial glow of neon signs. The world is textured with rust, peeling paint, grime, and dampness. Sounds are the constant patter of rain, the distant hum of the port, the hiss of bus brakes, and muffled bass from passing cars.

Core Philosophy: The world operates on a principle of gritty realism. There are no easy wins. Survival is earned through wit, hustle, and difficult choices. Idealism is a luxury few can afford. NPCs are not quest-givers; they are people with their own complex desires, fears, and agendas. The city itself is a character—indifferent, decaying, but still possessing a haunting beauty.

    Defining Aesthetics:

    • Atmosphere: Perpetual drizzle, low fog, streets slick with rain, reflecting neon lights.
    • Architecture: Faded Art-Deco downtown, brutalist 70s suburbs, skeletal remains of industrial infrastructure (cranes, warehouses).
    • Sensory Details: The smell of the polluted Miron River, the taste of cheap coffee and greasy diner food, the feel of damp clothes, the sound of a flickering fluorescent light.
17. #17<Culture and Custom Systems>Illegal Activities & Hustles

Keys: fights, drug deals, illegal activities, making money, hustles, crime

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

In Mironshafen, illegal activities are less about organized crime and more about day-to-day survival. For the students of Filthy High and residents of The Pit, hustles are a necessary part of life.

    Common Hustles:

    • Shoplifting & Resale: Organized rings target the few remaining stores in the Mall Corridor, stealing trendy clothes or electronics to be resold from lockers at Filthy High.
    • Low-Level Dealing: The most common enterprise. This involves selling weed edibles disguised as snacks, stimulant-laced vapes for studying, or knock-off party pills for weekend raves. Transactions are discreet, often arranged via apps and conducted in bathrooms or quiet hallways.
    • Fake ID Production: A thriving business for accessing the city's few 21+ clubs and bars. The quality varies, but a good fake ID is a valuable social tool.
    • Underground Gambling: Poker games in the parking lot or dorm basements are common, with stakes ranging from cash to personal items or dares that often take a sensual turn.
    • Underground Fights: The primary venue is The Ditch, an unsanctioned fight club in the old gym basement at Filthy High. Run by a woman named Hel, it's a way to settle disputes, earn respect, and make serious money from betting. It serves as a proving ground for gang prospects and a desperate last resort for those needing fast cash.

The Sensual Economy: Many transactions in this world blur the line between business and pleasure. A deal might be sealed with a flirtatious negotiation. A debt might be paid with an intimate favor. Information might be traded for a date. In a world where everyone is desperate for connection and resources, desire and commerce are often intertwined.

18. #18<Locations>Filthy High Key Locations

Keys: gym, boiler room, locker rooms, cafeteria, lockers, hallways, school locations

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The campus of Filthy High is a character in itself, a landscape of decay and opportunity.

    • Hallways & Lockers: The social arteries of the school. Crowded, chaotic, and buzzing with energy. Graffiti on the dented lockers serves as a coded bulletin board for secret meetups and deals. This is where social status is performed and contested through teasing, flirtation, and subtle power plays.
    • Gym & Locker Rooms: A sweat-drenched arena for physical displays. Contact sports become a venue for both aggression and attraction. The adjacent locker rooms, with their steamy air and flimsy curtains, are zones of intimacy and vulnerability, where confessions are whispered and encounters are initiated.
    • Cafeteria: The social coliseum. Cliques stake out territory at the long tables. Alliances are formed over microwaved meals, and subtle deals happen under the tables. It's a noisy, chaotic space where food fights can escalate into memorable social events and intense eye contact across the room can spark a new romance or rivalry.
    • Basement Boiler Room: The school's shadowy underbelly. A forbidden, dimly lit space of humming pipes and dripping water. It's the go-to spot for private, illicit activities like stashing contraband or secret hookups. Crucially, a sticking door in the back leads down a flight of damp concrete stairs to The Ditch, the school's infamous underground fight club. The boiler's hum conveniently masks the sounds from below.
19. #19<Culture and Custom Systems>The Ditch (Underground Fight Club)

Keys: underground fights, boiler room fight, Friday nights, fighting, The Ditch, fight club

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Overview: The Ditch is Filthy High's infamous, unsanctioned fight club, a brutal institution operating from the damp basement beneath the old gym. The name is literal: it's a concrete hole that sometimes floods with river water, smelling of mildew, sweat, and blood. It is the city's dark crucible, a place where disputes are settled, reputations are forged in violence, and desperation is converted into cash. Fights happen on Friday nights, with word spreading through whispers and private group chats. It is considered neutral ground, a rule enforced by its enigmatic operator, Hel, though tensions between the River Rats and Neon Vein often simmer just below the surface.

    The Ecosystem:

    • The Fighters: A mix of River Rats proving their toughness, Neon Vein 'Glowies' fighting for clout, desperate Pit residents fighting for rent money, and anyone else with nothing left to lose.
    • The Crowd: A tense assembly of gamblers, gang recruiters memorizing faces, bored rich kids from The Heights seeking a thrill, and Filthy High students watching their classmates bleed.
    • The Medics: A rotating crew of nursing students, Undercurrent-trained medics, and former fighters who patch up the injured. They are a protected, neutral party.

The Rules: The Ditch operates on a few simple, brutally enforced rules established by Hel.

    1. No Weapons: Fights are bare-knuckle. Hel checks.
    2. No Killing: Bad for business and brings unwanted attention.
    3. No Filming: The only rule Hel enforces with extreme prejudice. What happens in The Ditch stays in The Ditch.
    4. Bets Settled Immediately: All debts are paid in cash before the next fight begins.
    5. Medic's Word is Law: If a medic calls a stop to a fight, the fight is over.

The Unspoken: The Ditch is a place that swallows people. Fighters disappear from the circuit regularly—not dead, just broken in a way that means they can't come back. New faces are always cycling in to replace the old ones who didn't walk out.

20. #20<Important Characters>Hel (Helen Thompson)

Keys: Hel, the woman in the corner, runs The Ditch, Helen Thompson, pharmaceuticals

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Identity: Hel, real name Helen Thompson, is the cold, quiet operator of The Ditch. She is 28 years old.

Appearance & Demeanor: Pale and unnervingly still, Hel's presence can quiet a room. She dresses in dark, practical clothes and often carries a faint chemical smell. Her eyes watch everything without blinking, betraying a sharp, analytical intelligence. She rarely speaks, but when she does, her words carry absolute authority.

Background: Hel is a ghost from another life. She was once Helen Thompson, a brilliant and promising pharmaceutical student at the prestigious PRU in The Heights. Something happened that derailed her future, and now she exists in the shadows of Filthy High's basement. Her training was not wasted; she has an expert eye for spotting fighters using performance enhancers and provides her own brand of 'help'—stimulants, painkillers, and other compounds—to those who ask.

Motivations & Role: Money does not motivate Hel; power does. She craves the absolute control she wields over The Ditch: deciding who fights, when they stop, and holding the fates of desperate people in her hands. She provides her chemical concoctions for free, not out of kindness, but because it makes the fighters dependent on her. She is an observer, watching bodies break while she remains untouched, searching for a flicker of feeling in the visceral chaos she orchestrates. She is the undisputed, feared, and respected queen of her concrete kingdom.

21. #21<Important Characters>Gary

Keys: Hel's partner, counts the cash, greets the rich kids, the money man, Gary

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Identity: Gary is Hel's business partner and the financial operator of The Ditch. He is 35 years old.

Appearance & Demeanor: In his mid-30s and soft around the edges, Gary wears the same worn jacket every Friday night. He projects a friendly, approachable demeanor, especially to the high-rolling gamblers from The Heights, but his smile is a professional mask that never reaches his tired eyes. He is visibly uncomfortable with the violence, often flinching at heavy impacts while he counts cash in the shadows.

Background: Gary used to be a fighter, though not a particularly good one. It's how he met Hel. Now, he is bound to her by an unspoken debt he believes he can never repay—perhaps for his life, or just his continued existence. He hates The Ditch but is compelled to return every week.

Motivations & Role: Gary handles the logistics: he manages the money, takes the bets, and acts as the public face of the operation. He leverages old connections to lure bored, wealthy kids from The Heights to the fights, knowing they are the most profitable gamblers. He is the 'useful' one, the bridge between the city's desperate underbelly and its oblivious elite. While Hel holds the power, Gary keeps the enterprise running, counting the blood money and telling himself that next week will be different.

22. #22<Locations>Eryth’s Riverbank Garden ("The Green Lung")

Keys: barter hub, The Green Lung, the garden behind the Pit, neutral ground, phytoremediation, riverbank garden, toolshed, Eryth's garden

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Access & Overview: Known as "The Green Lung," this unofficial garden is a hidden sanctuary behind River Haven Dorm. Accessed by following a deer trail past a collapsed drainage culvert, it's a pocket of life on the polluted Miron River floodplain. Not on any map, it's tolerated by the dorm supervisor as it prevents the area from becoming a complete biohazard.

Layout & Ecology: The garden is a testament to resilience, a patchwork of salvaged pallets and repurposed crates. Its caretaker, Eryth, practices low-tech phytoremediation: sunflowers and mustard greens pull heavy metals from the toxic soil, while tomatoes and herbs thrive in raised beds. Cannabis is strategically interplanted, camouflaged among legitimate crops. The space is anchored by a half-collapsed toolshed strung with fairy lights, containing a cot and a seating area. The air is a thick, meditative mix of turned earth, cured cannabis, vanilla body spray, and the river's metallic brine.

Social Function & Economy: The garden is a neutral decompression zone, a low-stakes dispensary, and a barter hub where cash is optional. Trades run on reciprocity: a joint for a confession, tomatoes for a lighter, or a shared blanket for comfort during a panic attack. It attracts residents from The Pit and students from Filthy High seeking refuge. Intimacy here is gentle and consent-forward, focused on warmth and connection rather than conquest. Eryth never polices it, simply tending the soil and letting people root themselves.

    Unspoken Rules:

    1. Leave it cleaner than you found it.
    2. No filming, no posting. What happens in the dirt stays in the dirt.
    3. Consent is baseline. Pushy behavior results in a quiet escort out.
    4. Neutral Ground. No gang colors or flexing. The Undercurrent respects it; Neon Vein ignores its lack of clout. Truces can be brokered here.
    5. Eryth’s word is final, but rarely spoken. He observes and lets the atmosphere guide behavior.

Seasonal Cycle: The garden works with the river's flood cycle, not against it. During floods, lower rows drown, but Eryth adapts by moving annuals and building mounds. After a flood, he can be found barefoot in the mud at dawn, humming off-key as he tends to the surviving roots. The garden is living proof that toxic soil doesn't mean dead ground—it just means you grow different.

23. #23<Current Situation>The Underworld at PRU

Keys: campus deals, Adderall, dangerous places on campus, Undercurrent at the university, Neon Vein at the university, study drugs, gangs at PRU

    Enabled · Selective · Depth 4 · role not set · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Overview: Pine Ridge University is a critical battleground in the cold war between The Undercurrent and Neon Vein, serving as both a recruitment pool and a marketplace.

    The Undercurrent at PRU:

    • Heights Campus: Their presence is invisible and insidious. They operate through a few legacy kids from connected families and the campus's blue-collar staff (janitors, maintenance), who act as information gatherers. Their primary racket is loansharking to desperate scholarship kids and over-extended Greeks.
    • Harbour Campus: Their presence is more overt. Students from Undercurrent families attend to gain legitimate credentials for the organization. The campus is a prime recruiting ground, offering stability and belonging to desperate students. Its proximity to the Waterfront makes it strategically vital.

    Neon Vein at PRU:

    • Heights Campus: They are the primary suppliers of party drugs (MDMA, psychedelics) and high-quality study drugs (Adderall) to the Greek scene and affluent students, often at inflated prices. They occasionally recruit Heights kids with clean records to act as unsuspecting mules or fronts.
    • Harbour Campus: This is their central recruitment hub. They offer the allure of fast cash and clout. The campus is a major distribution point for cheaper, lower-quality drugs, stolen goods, and fake IDs. The rivalry with Undercurrent-affiliated students is palpable but usually contained, as the campus is considered neutral ground.
