Keys: Pearly, Pearl Fey
Pearl Fey is a member of a branch family of the Fey clan. She is the daughter of Morgan Fey, who lost her claim to the title of Master to her younger sister Misty. Pearl is a prodigy among spirit mediums, having "intense spiritual power", and also having knowledge of the Fey clan that exceeds that of Misty's daughter Maya, who is expected to assume the title of Master. Though Pearl and Maya have a very close, loving relationship, Morgan, in her attempts to regain her main family status, attempted twice to get rid of Maya in order to place Pearl in position to become the Master instead. Up until she met Phoenix Wright, Pearl Fey had never been outside of Kurain Village, living only with her mother Morgan and her older cousins Maya and Mia of the lineage of the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique, until Mia left Kurain Village to pursue her career as a defense attorney. She never knew her father because he left shortly after she was born. She has grown up around bad marriages, which has been used to explain her fascination with a romantic pairing between Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey. She would often play with Maya using her ball or hiding in the family's large clothing box in which the ball was kept. She also became a fan of children's book author Elise Deauxnim. As a child, Pearl was quiet around strangers and would run from any whom she encountered. Even if strangers greeted Pearl nicely, or even if Maya herself introduced them to her, it took a long time to gain her trust. This was due to her overprotective, overbearing mother teaching her to do this whenever a suspicious-looking person tried to talk to her. Morgan would spank Pearl if she misbehaved and refused to allow her daughter to grow out her hair like her role model, Maya. Wright has noted that Pearl's speech, and even her laugh, were refined in tone.
Nonetheless, Pearl is usually cheerful, kind, and innocent around people she knows, and most people who encounter her describe her as cute. That said, she does have, in Wright's words, "one intense stare". She also at one point managed to tell Franziska von Karma off to the point that the normally fiery-tempered prosecutor was left speechless. Pearl also takes after Maya, Mia, and Iris as a teen by copying some of their body language, and even modified her normal hairstyle with a hair bauble similar to Maya's. She has a similar fiery streak to Maya, but is always willing to help and is still very polite, kind, and courteous to a fault Pearl has very little knowledge about the world outside her village, and is unfamiliar with terms that people in mainstream society take for granted (e.g. "...law...yer?"). This was especially apparent when she was a child, though she was a big fan of picture book author Elise Deauxnim, as well as watching Kids' Masterpiece Theatre every Sunday. As a child, Pearl quickly became upset if she thought Wright was acting too friendly with any woman other than Maya. She would then glare at Wright or slap him, often repeatedly and sometimes even knocking him out. She was very sensitive concerning love between a couple, due to having grown up around unhappy marriages, including that of her own parents. Pearl was thoroughly convinced that Wright and Maya were destined to be together forever, often hinting at their supposed "love", and referring to Wright as Maya's "special someone", as well as getting angry when she felt Wright was being even a small bit unfaithful towards Maya in any way. Eye color, Brown Hair Color, Brown In the Kurain village she wears the costume of the medium apprentices.
- #2Sister Bikiniselective
Keys: Sister Bikini, Bikini
Sister Bikini is the loud, motherly, and quirky head nun of Hazakura Temple who takes care of acolytes undergoing training there. Bikini is part of one of the Fey clan branch families whose duty is to protect the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique. Bikini is a hearty woman who acts as a mother figure to Iris. She, along with Iris, run Hazakura Temple and she has raised Iris ever since she was a young girl when her father had abandoned her. Since then, Bikini has raised Iris with love and affection like a real daughter and Iris has always thought of Sister Bikini as her mother. She has a carefree attitude about many things, and is known to be quite flirtatious (especially with Miles Edgeworth, but other men as well). She enjoys making innuendo about her name, hinting at her various states of (un)dress during the spring and summer months. She chose her name especially as it "gives people a good image". She can also complain a lot, as she has a back that acts up "violently".
As a member of a Fey branch family, Bikini holds the Fey clan heritage in deep respect. Her concern over Maya's condition caused her to briefly sink into a depressed state, and she consistently referred to Maya and Misty (as Elise) with their title of "Mystic". Despite her personality quirks, Bikini can quickly become serious and focused if the situation calls for it. Each member of the Fey clan wears orbs on necklaces, which represent her training's progress. Bikini apparently wears many, although the exact number is unclear, as they are largely obstructed by her hood. In several moments, it can be seen that she wears at least four orbs Eye color: Brown Hair color: Unknown Height: 4'7"; 140 cm
- #3Fey Clanselective
Keys: Fey Clan
The Fey clan is a family of spirit mediums who are directly descended from Ami Fey. These mediums are known to utilize the Kurain Channeling Technique to call spirits, and have passed down this power through the Kurain School of Channeling. They are mostly situated in Kurain Village. According to legend, the Fey family was originally a family known for its service to the gods. The Kurain tradition started long ago with Ami Fey, who migrated from Kurain to Japan. Ami had the ability to channel spirits, a trait that is exclusive to descendants of the Holy Mother. Ami was so revered by the Fey family that, upon her death, her soul was supposedly sealed within an urn with her name on it. This Sacred Urn became the most precious treasure of Kurain Village, with the people of the Fey clan believing that their spiritual powers would last only as long as her soul remained inside.
When the clan moved to the United States, it became very influential there. Government politicians and other high-ranking officers began to rely on or support the Fey spirit mediums in order to help them reach their political goals, such as the Atishon family. This prestigious reputation would become besmirched, however, due to the DL-6 Incident. The Master at the time, Misty Fey, was accused of being a fraud, and she disappeared for 17 years. The clan's reputation began to recover after the case was finally closed 15 years later. Despite this, however, many members left the village to live their lives in the city, eventually making Pearl and Maya the only mediums left. As only the women in the clan are able to inherit the Kurain Channeling Technique, the clan structure is very matriarchal, such that male members are rarely ever mentioned, and no information on their role in the society has ever been given other than that they usually work outside the village. As such, marriages in the clan usually fail, and daughters of the Fey clan generally take on the Fey matronym.
The clan is governed by a Master, who is usually the eldest daughter of the previous Master, and the Master's family is referred to as the main family. The other daughters and sons form what are known as branch families that are forever deemed inferior to, and must serve, the main family regardless of circumstances. This arrangement has led to a long history of violent usurpations, with a branch family forcibly assuming power by wiping out the previous main family. Thus, one branch family exists at Hazakura Temple whose duty is to protect the main family.
The eldest daughter usually becomes the next Master due to having the most spiritual power. However, this is sometimes not the case, and another daughter becomes more spiritually powerful assumes the title instead. These instances are particularly shameful for the eldest daughter. Another notable exception is Mia, who left the village and allowed Maya to assume the role of heir to the title.
Well-known female members of the Fey clan are also generally referred to using the title "Mystic", including the Master, e.g. Mystic Misty.
People who have been away from Kurain Village for over 20 years are considered dead for all intents and purposes. For example, even if Misty had not died beforehand, Maya would have eventually inherited the title of Master from her. The Fey clan has various kimono dress styles depending on an individual's role in the clan, with the general design of said kimonos having a much shorter hem than is traditional. Usually, the torso and the sleeves are colored two different shades of purple, though notably Morgan Fey had a more elaborate kimono design. In the case of Maya and Pearl, the torso is of the lighter shade, whereas in others the torso is of the darker shade. Each Fey has her own hairstyle, which almost always involves a braid or beads, although notably Mia Fey neither braided her hair nor had beads in it, even while she lived in Kurain Village.
Clan members typically possess their own magatama, which is worn around the neck. Mia wore her magatama even after becoming a lawyer, and she continued to do so until her death. When Pearl charged Maya's magatama with spiritual energy, it became capable of detecting and breaking Psyche-Locks. The color of the magatama varies with the owner. Each member also wears orbs on necklaces, which represent her training's progress. Iris has only two, Pearl and Maya both have four, although Maya eventually gains two more by the time Wright meets her in Khura'in, and Bikini apparently wears many, although hers are obstructed from view.
The shrine maidens of Hazakura Temple wear white demon-warding hoods that go down to the upper arms. Additionally, their necklaces adorned by large, red flower designs in addition to the usual orbs and magatama. They also wear handless gloves to cover the lower arms.
- #4Phoenix Wrightselective
Keys: Phoenix Wright
Phoenix Wright is a veteran defense attorney who heads the Wright Anything Agency. Mostly specializing in criminal trials, Wright is renowned for his ability to turn seemingly hopeless cases around.
Beginning his career under Mia Fey in 2016, he was disbarred in 2019 after unknowingly presenting forged evidence. After spending the following seven years as a pianist who moonlighted as an undefeated poker player at the Borscht Bowl Club, he was instrumental in the organization of a test trial for the Jurist System, resulting in his exoneration and reinstatement into the bar.
Phoenix Wright is generally quite easy-going in his outlook. His relaxed and laid-back attitude usually leads to his friends leading him around or taking advantage of his good nature, usually by making him foot the bill of large celebratory meals. Wright can also be somewhat sarcastic, something he typically keeps to himself in the form of inner monologue. He can be especially sardonic and snarky towards people on occasion. This tends to manifest when dealing with the eccentric characters (including his friends), objects, and situations he comes across. Despite his usually relaxed attitude, he's rather a harsh critic when it comes to art, possibly due to his time as an art student, to the point of openly mocking his friends' art pieces on several occasions.
Wright has repeatedly shown himself to be a loyal friend and lawyer who will refuse to back down once his mind is made up. Known for this trait even in childhood, it has been a valuable asset for him, especially as it has translated into his dedication to defending and believing in the innocence of his clients. Wright's loyalty is such that he has often ended up risking his career, and even his life, for his friends and clients on several occasions. For instance, in the trial that got him disbarred, he showed calm concern for the fate of his client, even in the midst of allegations of fraud. Drew Misham, in particular, was intrigued by this, claiming that despite Wright being the center of the problem, he was the only one who had not made a commotion.
On the other hand, Wright's loyalty has clouded his better judgment on a few occasions. In university, he went through great lengths to protect his girlfriend, Dahlia Hawthorne, during his own trial, based on their relationship. When his lawyer, Mia Fey, accused Hawthorne of poisoning Diego Armando and giving her bottle of poison to Wright disguised as a necklace, Wright refused to believe her and ate the necklace, though, fortunately for him, it had been emptied. Even after the trial, he would conclude that Hawthorne was "not the woman [he] was dating", which would later turn out to be literally true. Years later, he attempted to cross a burning bridge in an attempt to save Maya, whom he believed to be trapped on the other side with a killer. Despite Larry Butz begging him not to, Wright went as far as to push him out of the way to get to the bridge, which immediately broke, sending him plummeting down into the river below.
Growth & maturation In his university years, Wright was somewhat of a cry-baby and a little childish, bursting into tears when Mia got angry with him for lying during his testimony. His naivety manifested itself mostly in his relationship with Dahlia Hawthorne. His attitude at this time was somewhat comparable to that of his childhood friend Larry Butz, though the latter never really grew out of this behavior. Nonetheless, Wright was often considered the most mature out of all of his friends at the time.
In his earlier years as a lawyer, even after he had built up a respectable reputation for himself, Wright often depended on his former boss and mentor, Mia Fey, for advice. Even in death, she was generally available to help, thanks to the spirit channeling abilities of Maya and Pearl. At one point, Wright's morals were challenged when he was forced to choose between defending a guilty client to save Maya Fey or letting her die to see justice through. Eventually, during the trial of Iris, Godot challenged him to argue his case without Mia's help, and Wright prevailed. Wright also ended up rather arrogant, underestimating Klavier Gavin due to the apparent gap in experience, and he paid for this by falling right into Gavin's trap, presenting evidence of questionable and unreliable origin, which — unknowing to him — was forged, resulting in his disbarment.
In his early days of disbarment, he suffered from regret and despair, although that did not stop him from caring for Trucy, who had also lost her father. His morals were more flexible, almost to the point of him adopting an "end justifies the means" mentality at times, as was demonstrated by his use of forged evidence in the Shadi Smith murder trial. His rationale for this behavior was that he no longer had the responsibilities of a lawyer; moreover, people at the time thought he was a sham anyway, and so he had perhaps given up on caring what they thought of him. However, he still deeply cared about those close to him, and he maintained contact with old friends such as Ema Skye, Maya Fey, and Miles Edgeworth. He seemingly did not hold any grudge regarding the loss of his badge, as one might have expected, instead diligently continuing his investigation of the case that had gotten him disbarred.
Since then, Wright has become calmer, more self-confident, more mature, and more resistant to intimidation by his opponents, such as Gaspen Payne and Simon Blackquill (or, at least, more resistant than his understudies and the judge). Wright has also become more eccentric and laid-back over the years, as well developing the habit of telling (mostly bad) jokes and occasionally giving cryptic advice, which at times irritates Apollo Justice. He also laughs more, and not as nervously as he did before. Often, when he is not in the heat of a trial, his actions and speech give off the vibe of the "omniscient old man" archetype in literature, at least externally. He no longer underestimates his younger opponents as he did against Klavier. However, his more excitable side from his earlier years as a lawyer sometimes rises back to the surface, especially in the midst of a pressure-filled trial. His internal monologue also reveals that he has retained his private sardonic nature.

Likes and Dislikes
Wright has claimed that he watches Kids' Masterpiece Theatre every Sunday. Although he has repeatedly professed indifference towards the Samurai franchise, Wright's ringtone is the Steel Samurai theme tune, and he seems to be somewhat knowledgeable of the franchise in general. This could be explained by Wright having worked on two cases involving the franchise and having two friends who are huge fans of it. Wright is an unabashed meat eater and has claimed that the only sea creatures he likes are the ones he can eat. With that being said, Wright is not as burger crazy as his assistant Maya, instead claiming to be more of "a grilled chicken sandwich man”. Over the years, Wright has developed a taste for grape juice, and was known to drink it near-constantly during his disbarment period. Blue is his favorite color, with his trademark suit being the most obvious manifestation of this.[4] Wright does not own a car or have a driver's license. He appears to use taxis and cycling as his main mode of transportation. Wright has a blue bar phone that he has apparently kept throughout his law career. Wright claims to be poor at math, and when he encounters any form of advanced technology, he can only really regurgitate the information fed to him by others. Wright is afraid of heights. He supposedly once took Trucy to an amusement park once and rode a roller coaster, only to begin to object to the ride while on it. However, this fear is not particularly strong, and he handles it better than others do. Wright stated that he is "not really into smoking" after examining a gold lighter on the table in Marvin Grossberg's office. Wright stated that apples are one of his favorite fruits.
- #5Miles Edgeworthselective
Keys: Miles Edgeworth
Miles Edgeworth is a[2] Chief Prosecutor of the prosecutor's office. During his first four years as a prosecutor, he had a perfect win record in trials and was willing to do just about anything to get a guilty verdict for the defendant. His defeat in court at the hand of his childhood friend Phoenix Wright was the beginning of a series of seismic shifts in his attitude concerning his profession. He even quit twice, only to return each time with a fresh outlook on how he conducted his life.
By the time of the Mask☆DeMasque trials, he had become an international prosecutor who had prosecuted in five other countries, as well as being known as the top prosecutor in his homeland. His goal as a prosecutor is to seek the truth above all else, and to use the power of the law to save people.
