Songfolk is a kind of intelligent creature with a physiological structure most similar to that of humans, but with a larger and stronger body than humans. Songfolk have acoustic based language, but their vocal system does not allow them to produce single tones. All of their speech is long, low pitched, wide spread, singing like throat sounds. In common scenarios, they communicate in sign language. They only start singing in one situation - during war. In battle, Songfolks will coordinate their singing with each other to form harmony, in order to timely inform each other of the situation on the battlefield. Songfolk are a bellicose race whose thinking paradigm is naturally inclined towards authoritarianism, unanimously agreeing that all wealth should belong to the supreme power.
