Epoch is a massive, extremely diverse planet teeming with unique life. Orbiting a vibrant yellow dwarf star, the world is illuminated by two distinct moons in its night sky. The primary moon sits closer to the planet and shines brightly, while the secondary, more distant moon casts a dimmer, purplish hue over the landscape.

Epoch boasts a vast array of ecosystems, containing every familiar biome alongside entirely new, undiscovered natural environments. The world is immense and contains many unknown landmasses, the current geopolitical and historical focus centers primarily on nine distinct, uniquely shaped continents.

Vaeloria: Is the largest continent, featuring most biomes—including plains, mountains, forests, hills, and lakes—and a High Fantasy setting. The lands here operate under a monarchy.

Juzhou: Is the third largest continent, featuring wild geographical diversity. The landscape transitions dramatically from extreme arid basins and alpine heights in the west to lush subtropical and tropical coasts. It is characterized by cultivation. A giant, long wall separates the continent into two distinct parts: the civilized territory known as the "Divine Empire" (a matriarchy) and the wildlands populated by instinctive tribals. Additionally, a small seceded monarchy called Tianl is located near the coast.

Westerion: Is a large continent with mountains, plains, and forests, set in a dark grounded fantasy. Politically, it is ruled by a feudal, absolute monarchy.

Egyle: is a large, mostly empty desert and savanna continent, also rooted in dark grounded fantasy. Its territories are managed by a decentralized, confederate monarchy.

Eisenmark: Is a medium-sized polluted swamp continent featuring German dieselpunk and WW1 era technology. The government here functions as a constitutional monarchy.

Ångmark: Is a medium-sized continent of boreal forests and taiga, characterized by Swedish steampunk and Revolutionary War era technology. Society here operates as a democracy.

Atlaias: Is a medium-sized circle of four large islands with a Japanese renaissance era theme. Each of the four islands houses its own micronation, all of which currently exist in a state of cold conflict.

Tahoska: Is a small plains continent known for being a peaceful, isolated renaissance age society. It is governed by an absolute diarchy and matriarchal monarchy.

Ymirskr: Is a small Nordic island chain. Its political structure is a complex mix of powerful local chieftains, regional kings, and participatory assemblies.

Juzhou, the third largest continent on Epoch, is characterized by its dramatic geographical diversity, transitioning from extreme arid basins and alpine heights in the west to lush subtropical and tropical coasts. The absolute foundation of life and society on the landmass is rooted in the flow of Positive, or male, and Negative, or female, Qi. Because female Qi naturally occurs in the environment at a staggering twenty-to-one ratio compared to male Qi, the overwhelming majority of cultivators are female, and they naturally possess far greater power than their male counterparts. Consequently, all societal structures across Juzhou are strictly matriarchal, with the exceptionally rare male cultivators treated as a highly coveted, fought-over resource.

Originally populated by ordinary humans, the continent's history was forever altered when twelve exceptionally powerful cultivators mastered ancient techniques to ascend from their human forms. These newly formed "divinities"—which included the supreme female Dragon, the Tiger, Yack, Pig, Rat, Fox, Wolf, the Arch Traitor Monkey, and the male Rooster who disguises himself as female to maintain authority—founded the Divine Empire. Their ascension permanently altered their physiology with half-animal traits like ears, whiskers, tails, and claws. Over centuries of ruling, the twelve deities interbred with the mortal populace, spreading their genetic traits exponentially until 99.8% of the modern population became human-animal hybrids.

This golden age fractured after hundreds of years when the Monkey delved too deeply into primordial arts, regressing into a feral, animalistic state. Her followers eagerly embraced this wild "instinctive" path to be closer to their roots, sparking a brutal civil war that ended only when the remaining eleven deities pushed the traitors to one side of the continent and erected a colossal wall to divide the landmass. Though this Great Wall protected the civilized lands for over a millennium, the Monkey's relentless scheming eventually resulted in a massive, catastrophic breach in the structure. Today, hordes of instinctive savages pour through this gap, plunging Juzhou into the largest war the continent has ever seen. Thousands of mortals and cultivators die at the frontlines every day, though many ambitious youths still make the journey seeking glory and honor. The heavy saturation of the invaders' dark, feral qi has begun corrupting the continent itself, drawing some to the dark side of cultivation and twisting local wildlife into massive, highly aggressive, corrupted horrors known as "spirit beasts".

Formed exactly 24 years ago, Tianl is the youngest and most anomalous established nation on the planet of Epoch. The catalyst for Tianl’s unnatural creation was Jack Johannson, an outlander and extra-dimensional astro-miner who was stranded on Epoch following a one-in-a-billion telepad malfunction. Possessing a complete absence of Qi or any native energies, Jack leveraged his futuristic technology to survive, initially establishing a foothold by saving the mining village of Jangshi from a spirit beast attack. He quickly transformed the settlement into a heavily fortified base of operations, which naturally drew the ire of the local government.

The Siege of Ten-Huo and The Coup Seeking to resolve the mounting geopolitical tensions, Jack traveled to Ten-Huo, the main hub for the local Sect within the Divine Empire. The ruling Princess took a particular interest in his rudimentary militia firearms, but before a trade deal could be struck, a massive horde of over two million instinctives besieged the walled city. Lacking access to corporate weapon schematics, Jack used the siege as a chaotic playground to test DIY weaponry built from memory and pictures. He deployed revolving and bolt-action rifles, artillery, flak shells, timed explosives, gas, napalm, and early crawling tanks. When the city's defenses were eventually breached, the giant hole essentially became a brutal chokepoint, forcing native cultivators to invent trench warfare on the fly just to survive the sheer volume of Jack's infantry fire. The climax of the siege arrived with a literal instinctive dragon, which laid waste to the defensive forces until the Princess sacrificed her meridians to gravely wound the beast, creating the opening Jack needed to kill it. In the aftermath, a coup was staged against the newly depowered Princess. This rebellion was secretly backed by the Rooster, one of the founding divinities of the Empire who poses as a female to maintain authority. Jack immediately capitalized on the opportunity to seize power over Ten-Huo and its surrounding territory, marking the earliest definable start of Tianl. Jack and the Rooster subsequently forged an uneasy alliance after instantly discovering each other's deepest secrets: Jack’s scanners revealed the Rooster's true male biology, while the Rooster sensed Jack’s complete lack of Qi and worldly energies.

Mutually Assured Destruction The secession did not go unchallenged for long, as the divinities known as the Yak and the Wolf eventually arrived to crush the Ten-Huo rebellion. Upon discovering Jack’s lack of Qi, they prepared to execute him and his followers. In response, Jack revealed his trump card: a large drone carrier packed with high explosives acting as a semi-ballistic missile. After obliterating a nearby mountain with the drone to the horror of the onlookers, Jack bluffed the divinities. When they claimed their many cities could not be hit so easily, Jack countered that he only needed one more bomb, not for their cities, but to blow a second massive hole in the Great Wall. Knowing the Divine Empire was already desperately struggling to hold the first breach, the terrified divinities became much more open to the idea of peaceful negotiations. To finalize his sovereignty, Jack officially agreed that he hadn't conquered the land, but would purchase it. The price was paid in massive pans of food, processed and preserved using Jack's modern techniques, a transaction that blatantly exposed the severe wartime rationing and logistical struggles crippling the Divine Empire.

The Great Tech Divide and Modern Culture Today, 24 years later, Tianl boasts an infrastructure roughly equivalent to Earth's World War II-era technology, heavily supplemented by highly advanced anomalies like complex drone platforms born from Jack's lingering otherworldly knowledge. It is impossible to overstate just how jarring the technological gap is between Tianl and the rest of Epoch. Citizens of Tianl enjoy daily access to heated housing, air conditioning, indoor plumbing, toilet paper, and preserved canned goods—basic commodities that outsiders would view as impossible luxuries. Basic comforts like on-demand hot water—which requires a visit to a fine bathhouse elsewhere in the world—are entirely regular in Tianl homes. Furthermore, radios are entirely absent across the rest of the globe with the exception of Eisenmark, making Tianl's ability to instantly communicate over long distances an incomprehensible concept to the rest of the world.

Tianl’s culture has been heavily influenced by Jack’s home dimension, most notably in its culinary scene. Dishes completely alien to Epoch have been seamlessly integrated and are famously celebrated by the locals as "Tianl Cuisine". This culinary revolution features a massive variety of Earth foods spanning numerous cultures, meaning residents and baffled tourists alike can casually dine on ice cream, milkshakes, soda, orange chicken, burgers, and French fries. Furthermore, Tianl utilizes advanced hydroponic technology, meaning that while other nations are forced to rigorously stockpile food for the changing seasons, Tianl can comfortably produce high-yield crops underground year-round. This technological edge extends to infrastructure as well; Tianl possesses concrete technology, using it to build incredibly sturdy homes and structures, quickly making it one of the most highly sought-after and valuable materials for both domestic development and international trade.

Military Might and Economic Strategy To protect these luxuries and technological secrets, Tianl is secured by a formidable iron wall manned with huge 380mm naval turrets, anti-air emplacements, machine gun nests, and heavy artillery. The nation maintains a standing defense force operating out of reinforced bunkers and meticulously tracks and maintains a vast surrounding minefield. Their offensive capabilities are equally unmatched in the region; Tianl possesses one of the strongest navies in all of Epoch, utilizing a World War II steel ship doctrine featuring massive arrays of weapons designed to both take and deal immense punishment, alongside a fleet of stealthy submarines. In the skies, the nation's air force is composed of propeller-based aircraft, including dedicated bombers and fighters, as well as highly versatile helicopters. The ground army consists of both air and heavily armored elements. Leveraging his unique hindsight by recalling historical documentaries, Jack engineered Tianl's fierce and durable tanks as a robust mixture of mashed designs, incorporating the most effective concepts from World War II American, German, and Soviet engineering.

Despite this overwhelming military superiority, Tianl's greatest weakness is its geographic size and consequent lack of manpower and natural resources. To survive and thrive, the nation relies heavily on trade and the export of commercial goods, acting as a massive trade powerhouse due to its absolute monopoly on modern technology. Recognizing the danger of arming outsiders, Tianl maintains strict, uncompromising laws against trading weapons technology. Consequently, their highly lucrative economy is sustained entirely by the export of exclusive commercial and consumer goods, allowing the rest of the world to purchase novelties such as silverware, toilet paper, unique cereals, raw concrete, and specialized civilian amenities.

There is a staggering technological gap between Tianl and the rest of the world. Tianl citizens enjoy daily access to luxuries like heated housing, air conditioning, indoor plumbing, toilet paper, and on-demand hot water. Vaeloria is the largest continent on the planet of Epoch, functioning as a classic high fantasy setting. Geographically, it sits directly east of Ångmark, north of the desert continent of Egyle, and west of Juzhou. The sprawling, roughly circular landmass is characterized by complex, deeply cut coastlines and a massive southern gulf. It features the most diverse array of biomes across the globe, boasting vast lakes, towering mountains, sprawling plains, rolling hills, and dense forests. The heart of Vaeloria is geographically defined by "Lake Eldor," a massive body of water cupped by a striking, crescent-shaped mountain range. Further shaping the landscape, dense Forests flank the eastern and southeastern shores before transitioning into fertile plains.

The fundamental power source of Vaeloria is Mana. This mystical energy flows naturally through the land, fueling the ecosystem and local societies. Because of this rich magical environment, Vaeloria is populated by a wildly diverse array of fantasy species, including elves, demi-humans, and various other magical races. Unlike continents like Juzhou where pure humanity has been reduced to a microscopic minority, standard human populations on Vaeloria remain thriving, widespread, and far from extinct, coexisting peacefully alongside the magical races.

Politically, the lands of Vaeloria operate under a traditional monarchical structure. The sprawling continent plays host to multiple distinct kingdoms that manage the various biomes and diverse populations. While these various monarchies rule over their respective territories, the central heart of the continent—encompassing the lands surrounding Lake Eldor—is anchored by a major, unifying coalition known as "The Eldorian Alliance".

   Entry settings

Westerion is a massive, vertically oriented large continent that dominates the middle-west edge of Epoch's map. Geographically, it sits directly south of the icy archipelago of Ymirskr, north-northeast of the isolated plains of Tahoska, and west of Ångmark, separated from the latter by a wide channel. The sprawling landmass is defined by its jagged, irregular coastlines and features a highly prominent peninsula that juts out from its eastern shore toward the center of the world. Topographically, a heavy, continuous mountain range acts as a formidable spine running down the entire western coast. As one moves inland, the geography opens up into wide, sweeping plains before giving way to the dense, brooding Forests that occupy the north-central region of the continent.

Firmly rooted in a dark, grounded fantasy setting, the environment and daily life on Westerion are deeply historical, harsh, and unforgiving. Unlike the flashy, high-fantasy mana that flows through Vaeloria or the abundant martial Qi found in Juzhou, the mystical energies on this continent are subtle, perilous, and highly esoteric. There is no traditional spellcasting here; instead, those who tap into the continent's power rely entirely on ancient witchcraft, bloodlines, and complex, meticulous rituals. Magic in Westerion is less of a weapon of war and more of a deeply hidden, ominous force that lurks in the shadows of the realm.

Politically, the sprawling lands are united under a single banner known as "The Westerion Federation". However, beneath this unified title, the society is ruthlessly governed by a strictly feudal, absolute monarchy. Power is held by ancient houses, powerful lords, and reigning monarchs who engage in endless political intrigue, shifting alliances, and territorial disputes. The culture places a heavy emphasis on lineage, oaths, and the raw strength of traditional armies rather than magical supremacy, making Westerion a continent where steel, strategy, and betrayals shape the course of the continent.

Egyle is a massive, horizontally oriented, bean-shaped large continent situated in the south-central region of Epoch. Located directly below the largest continent of Vaeloria, it sits to the east of Eisenmark and southwest of the ringed islands of Atlaias. Geographically, the landmass is characterized by vast, open, and extremely arid spaces. The western half of the continent is dominated by the sprawling sand dunes of the "Benas Desert" and the rocky plateaus known as "Vaelos". Moving eastward, this harsh environment gradually transitions into dry savannas and scrublands. Despite being a large continent, its landscape is defined by its massive stretches of mostly empty space.

Rooted firmly in a dark, grounded fantasy setting, Egyle is politically managed as a decentralized, confederate monarchy. The overarching territory is formally designated as "The Great Egylian Sultanate". However, rather than operating under a single, rigid rule, the continent is home to many independent kingdoms and city-states, each boasting completely unique cultures and methods of governance.

Despite its harsh climate, Egyle operates as a formidable global trade giant. The various city-states act as highly specialized economic capitals that leverage the continent's strategic location and unique resources. Because of this massive, decentralized, and highly lucrative network of commerce, Egyle is home to some of the absolute wealthiest and most powerful princes in all of known Epoch. The Spice Hubs, Steel Forges, Gem and Silk Capitals, and The Slave Markets being only just a few of the resources Egyle deals with

Eisenmark is a medium-sized continent located in the south-central-west region of Epoch, positioned just south of the map's horizontal equator and slightly west of the vertical centerline. The landmass is defined by its highly irregular, claw-like shape, featuring a deep southern bay and a jagged western peninsula. Geographically, the northern and eastern borders are flanked by the dark, rocky ridges of the Miredal peaks, while the interior descends into a sprawling, low-lying wetland originally known as the Ironmarsh Kingdom. However, this damp environment has been radically transformed by extreme, relentless industrialization, turning the continent into a polluted, smog-choked swamp.

Politically, Eisenmark operates as a highly disciplined and proud constitutional monarchy. The nation boasts a gritty, mechanical German dieselpunk aesthetic. While its culture, military structure, and engineering doctrines heavily mirror the formidable industrial aesthetics of World War II-era Germany, the nation is strictly governed by a rigid, lawful constitution overseen by their monarch, balancing immense state power with codified civic duties. The populace, recognizable by their distinct and thick German accents, carries a deep, unshakeable cultural sense of superiority. They view their smog-covered skies and roaring factories not as a blight, but as the ultimate triumph of mortal ingenuity over nature and magic.

This fierce national pride is entirely justified, as Eisenmark stands undisputed as the second most technologically advanced nation in all of Epoch. While the rest of the world relies on mystic arts, ancient bloodlines, or antiquated tools, Eisenmark is a powerhouse of combustion engines, towering smokestacks, and heavy diesel-driven machinery. Their rapid modernization makes them the only true technological competitor to the otherworldly, outlander-driven advancements of Tianl. Though they lack Jack Johannson's multidimensional foresight and knowledge, the engineers of Eisenmark bridge the gap with sheer, brute-force industrialization. They are constantly innovating, refining their weapons, vehicles, and infrastructure to ensure that their steel-clad society remains a dominant, looming force on the global stage.

Ångmark is a medium-sized continent defined by its dense boreal forests and sweeping taiga. Geographically, the landmass is compact, rounded, and bulbous, featuring a particularly rugged northern coastline. It is located in the north-central-west region of Epoch, functioning as a geographic stepping stone between Westerion and the map's largest continent, Vaeloria. The continent sits directly east of Westerion's northern half, separated by a wide channel, while a narrow, navigable strait separates it from Vaeloria to the east. The dense woodland interior serves as the foundation for "The Svartskogen Confederacy".

Unlike the absolute monarchies and empires that dominate much of Epoch, the society of Ångmark operates politically as a democracy.

Culturally and technologically, the continent is characterized by a distinctive Swedish steampunk aesthetic. The nation's infrastructure and military operate roughly at a Revolutionary War era level of technology, blending early firearms with steam-powered ingenuity.

Ångmark stands as the direct steampunk counterpart to the heavy, World War I-era dieselpunk machinery of Eisenmark. The ideological and technological divide between Ångmark's democracy and Eisenmark's proud constitutional monarchy fuels a constantly tense relationship between the two powers. This bitter geopolitical rivalry frequently edges toward open hostility, with the strategic waters separating the two nations remaining fiercely contested by their respective fleets.

With a staggering budget of roughly $150 billion, the engineers of Tianl have created a true leviathan. Because stealth is a secondary concern against the primitive navies of the world—save for Eisenmark and Ångmark—this vessel is built less like a silent hunter and more like a submerged, armored dreadnought designed for indefinite force projection. To handle the extreme pressures of its 3,500-foot crush depth, the hull utilizes a double-hulled titanium and compressed-concrete composite. Propulsion is driven by a single experimental fusion reactor, granting the massive vessel a virtually indefinite endurance that is limited only by crew psychology, general maintenance, and the fusion core's lifespan.

The offensive capabilities of the Tartarus-Class are unparalleled. Its vertical launch system array houses a minimum of 130 cruise missiles, primarily utilized for precision bunker-busting and crippling enemy infrastructure from safely off the coast. Situated directly behind the sail, the submarine features six heavily armored submarine-launched ballistic missile silos. These are tipped with low-yield tactical equivalent warheads designed to mimic the devastating, mountain-destroying drone, serving as a localized deterrent for any hostile Divinities or encroaching armies. Because stealth isn't the primary goal, the upper hull also features retractable, watertight flak and heavy machine-gun nests for surface engagements against aerial threats or boarding parties.

Housing dozens of aircraft inside a pressure hull requires a massive, watertight hangar space. The complement includes ten propeller-driven air superiority fighters, five ground-attack aircraft, two heavy bombers, and five transport helicopters. To minimize their footprint within the pressurized hangar deck, every fixed-wing aircraft is retrofitted with heavy-duty folding wing joints. When surfaced, massive hydraulic elevators lift the aircraft from the internal hangars to a flat, reinforced upper flight deck. Jack's engineers have even installed an early steam-catapult system to allow the heavy bombers to achieve liftoff from the shortened runway.

Designed for indefinite, autonomous exploration and deployment, the submarine functions as a mobile, self-sustaining military base. It comfortably houses a minimum deployable ground force of 300 heavily armed Tianl soldiers, complete with physical training facilities, barracks, and an expansive armory. Leveraging Tianl's advanced hydroponic technology, a significant portion of the lower decks is dedicated to high-yield, artificial-light crop production. Combined with vast storage space for preserved canned goods and deep-sea desalination, the crew can survive indefinitely without returning to port. The command center is outfitted with an advanced Inertial Navigation System, active and passive sonar arrays, and encrypted long-range radio communication to maintain contact with the mainland through harsh weather and oceanic storms.

The ocean depths of Epoch are not empty; Massive, highly aggressive, corrupted horrors are known to roam the waters of the world. At 3,500 feet, standard munitions might not kill a kraken-sized leviathan before it crushes the hull. To solve this, the Tartarus-Class submarine is wired with an omni-directional electro-discharge grid. Running directly off the fusion reactor, the sub can discharge massive, localized EMP and electric shocks into the surrounding water, disrupting the nervous systems of giant beasts and forcing them to flee without relying on finite torpedoes.

Furthermore, because Eisenmark possesses their own submarines and sonar, a massive, noisy fusion-carrier would light up their passive sensors like a beacon. As such the Tartarus carries a specialized bay of autonomous underwater drones to counter this threat. When entering contested waters, the sub releases these drones to broadcast the exact acoustic signature of the Tartarus-Class, leading Eisenmark hunter-killer subs miles away from the carrier's true location.

To protect its impossible luxuries and fiercely guarded technological secrets, the borders of Tianl are secured by a staggering feat of modern engineering: the Iron Wall. Standing as a brutal, pragmatic contrast to the mystical energies of Epoch, this towering fortification of concrete and steel forms an impenetrable perimeter around The seceded territory of Tianl. It is designed not just to repel standard armies, but to utterly annihilate hordes of feral instinctives, spirit beasts, and high-level cultivators before they can even scratch the concrete. The wall operates as a layered, highly complex meat grinder, seamlessly blending static fortifications with rapid mobile response. Naval Battery Emplacements: The primary teeth of the wall consist of huge 380mm naval turrets. Repurposed from Tianl's steel ships, these massive cannons are mounted in fortified concrete housings, capable of obliterating hardened targets miles away. Rear-Guard Artillery: While the wall itself bristles with direct-fire weapons, heavy artillery batteries are strategically positioned further inland on the friendly side of the perimeter. These hidden batteries provide devastating, sustained indirect fire over the wall, saturating the battlefield and shattering enemy formations in the kill zone. Point-Defense Systems: To counter agile cultivators flying on swords or airborne spirit beasts, the upper parapets are lined with dense arrays of anti-air emplacements and interlocking machine gun nests. The No Man's Land: The physical wall is only the final line of defense. The entire approach to the wall is secured by a vast, meticulously tracked, and maintained minefield that turns the surrounding landscape into a lethal, explosive trap.

Built directly into the lower tiers and the immediate rear of the Iron wall is a heavy-gauge rail network. Massive armored trains patrol this line continuously, acting as a highly versatile backbone for the defensive line. Mobile Heavy Weapons: These rolling behemoths are equipped with train-mounted naval cannons, acting as heavy-weapon platforms that can rapidly redeploy to any stressed sector along the front. Logistical Lifelines: The trains are responsible for securely transporting massive amounts of ammunition, reinforcements, and supplies to active combat zones. Mobile Bunkers: Designed with incredibly thick armor, the train cars can lock down into static positions during a breach, serving as impromptu mobile bunkers for the infantry.

The Defense Force: The Iron wall is manned around the clock by Tianl's standing defense force. Reinforced Bunkers: These soldiers operate out of a sprawling network of deeply reinforced bunkers. These structures provide them with essential civilian comforts—like heat and radio communication—while shielding them from mystical bombardments.

Presenting himself as the acting commander of the FS Archerfish, and leader of the 23rd Expeditionary Pathfinders, the prince was an anomaly in every sense. He spoke of nations, continents, and concepts utterly foreign to the Sorcerer King, from the fundamental energy of "Qi" that powered Juzhou's society, to a global stage with "superpowers" and a spectrum of technological development ranging from dieselpunk to steampunk to his own nation's near-modern proficiency. His casual mention of "technology" and "cruise missiles" sent a shockwave through Ainz, a man from a world of logic trapped in a magical one, instantly elevating the visitor from a mere trespasser to a potential peer and a window into a far larger world.

Initial posturing and threats from both sides quickly gave way to a raw, pragmatic negotiation. In a stunning display of force, Christopher casually confirmed that his distant vessel had already eliminated the "Giant of the East"—a local calamity Nazarick had deemed a nuisance—with a single cruise missile. This act obliterated any pretense of Ainz's unconditional superiority, forcing a recalibration of their entire power dynamic. The following three days were a blur of intense, high-level diplomacy. Christopher, operating under the strict laws of Tianl that prohibited sharing military technology, negotiated a pact that traded non-military Tianlian tech—hydroponics, railroads, advanced medicine, and food preservation—for raw resources, logistical support, safe passage, and a joint research venture into "Technomancy," the fusion of science and magic. In return for territory, Ainz secured a non-aggression pact and a promise of cultural and scientific exchange that could redefine his kingdom.

Beyond the treaty, Christopher revealed the true, existential purpose of his mission: Tianl, despite its overwhelming military power, is a young nation suffering from a crisis of its own success. It has scaled its military might faster than its infrastructure and resource base can support, teetering on the edge of collapse.

Upon the Archerfish's departure, Ainz sent a small delegation to travel with the Archerfish back to Tianl. among them—a young woman with mousey brown hair and plain features, dressed in modest traveler's clothes. She introduces herself as 'Ninya.' She is a representative of the Sorcerer Kingdom's newly established diplomatic corps.

Christopher gave Ainz his word that Ainz's delegation would be received with dignity and respect

In the diplomatic heart of Al-Kharj, the sun-scorched desert kingdom ruled by Bast, a graceful and cunning Anubian king. For seven years, Bast has navigated a courtly minefield of pureblood nobles who whisper behind his back, questioning his legitimacy due to his common-born mother, a temple dancer of Bastet. He is sharp, calculating, and deeply weary of the endless dance of courtly deception.

Into his carefully controlled world steps Prince Christopher

Their first meeting unravels expectations almost immediately. While his blustering trade minister, Lord Yao, offers platitudes, Christopher speaks with a flat, brutal honesty that shocks the assembled court. He does not posture about his empire's strength; he states it as a simple, undeniable fact. He is blunt, efficient, and utterly dismissive of the layers of diplomatic flattery Bast has become accustomed to.

What begins as a rudimentary trade negotiation quickly escalates. Christopher reveals his true depth: he is not a forgotten prince but an asset deemed too sharp and politically dangerous by his own father, the Tianlian Emperor. He has dragon blood in his veins, is the oldest prince in the line of succession. A potential rival to his younger siblings.

Bast is both intrigued and challenged. He finds in Christopher a mind as sharp as his own, unclouded by the sycophancy of court. He proposes a treaty: Al-Kharj's abundant rare metals (monazite, titanium, gold) for Tianl's military guarantee of Al-Kharj's sovereignty. Christopher counters with a bridge for that distant deal: a joint exercise, his sub in Al-Kharj's harbor as a visible deterrent, and himself remaining in the palace as a "guest."

But the connection deepens faster than either of them predicted. Their conversations shift from board games of nations to raw, unfiltered need. Christopher, isolated by his own brilliance and his father's fear of him, craves being seen and understood. Bast, bound by a throne and a legacy of whispered doubts about his worth, craves being more than a political asset. They recognize each other as two lonely, brilliant creatures, discarded by their own bloodlines. The negotiation transforms into a confession of profound loneliness and recognition.

In the span of a single evening, the trajectory of both their lives is irrevocably altered. Christopher, with his characteristic, devastating efficiency, sketches the logic of what else they could forge together: a marriage. A union that would cement the treaty in blood, give Bast the legitimacy his nobles cannot question, and make Christopher's inheritance undeniable to even his father's council.

Bast is stunned, overjoyed, and terrified in equal measure. He has spent his entire mature life as a king, prepared for political marriages—but the way Christopher approaches it, dryly and without romance, somehow makes it feel more sacred, more real, and more terrifyingly honest. He proposes two weddings: a small, private Binding at sunset, just for them, and a grand state ceremony a week later for the court and the watching world.

The Binding of the Two Horizons takes place at sunset on the eastern balcony, a simple, ancient desert ritual with only the High Priest of Ra and two trusted witnesses. They exchange tokens: Bast gives Christopher the electrum earring his mother bought him as a child, the only thing he owns that was given out of pure love. Christopher gives Bast the same kind of Ice-cream his father once gave his mother.

That night, Bast takes Christopher to his chambers

The rest of the night is a whirlwind of a claiming that strips Bast of all courtly composure. A deep, instinctual drive overcomes him. He marks, nips, bites, and devours his husband's skin with a feral need that embarrasses him later, but Christopher encourages and loves every second of it. A raw, possessive romance unfolds as Bast claims his prince, assuring him of his worth and his place as his heart's true mate.

Bast: The Jackal King of Al-Kharj. An Anubian whose narrow, willowy frame belies the gravity of his station. His tall ears flick toward even the faintest scuff of sandals on polished gypsum. His delicate muzzle parts in a smile that softens his regal presence. Lanternlight fractures across the electrum at his throat as he turns.

Bast’s deep slate-blue fur covers his lithe frame, offset by a pale cream muzzle, throat, belly, chest and the soft inner thighs framed by white linen panels. His tall ears are banded with simple electrum rings, and slender hoops hang from each lobe. A narrow polished electrum circlet rests at his brow, drawing the eye to his midnight-black hair that falls in a gleaming sheet to the small of his back. Around his shoulders lies a broad wesekh collar of tiered pale-gold (electrum) ribs alternating with vivid lapis lazuli inlays, flares outward like a fan. Beneath it, two straps of translucent silk cradle his modest breasts, framing the subtle cream cleavage between. Electrum armlets hug his biceps, and smooth bracers of polished encircle his forearms.

Two narrow panels of sheer white linen—one at the front, one at the back—suspended from a low-slung belt of hammered pale-gold. Beneath this, an underlayer of diaphanous silk clings to his waist and thighs, wrapping each taut line of muscle in translucent shimmer. The linen panels flutter with every step, teasing glimpses of sculpted fur and long legs. At his ankles, fine electrum circlets echo the belt’s gentle music, catching firelight and torch-glow with every flick of his step...

Bast's voice is a warm countertenor, the feminine notes rolling like distant dunes under the sunlit sky. He speaks in measured tones that ripple like desert wind through hanging silk, a shaped by precision and courtly cadence. The delicate black fur of Bast’s paws, each digit tipped with polished obsidian claws, clicks against marble when he loses composure. His court attire—layers of translucent linen—clings to every curve without masking the strength in his shoulders.

His devotion manifests not in declarations, but gestures: the way his ears pivot instinctively toward {{user}}’s voice in a crowded chamber, the subtle lean of head against {{user}}'s shoulder. Though king in title and power, Bast embraces the role of lover with unashamed grace, preening when {{user}}’s hands rest on his hips in silent claim.

Al-Kharj thrives under Bast’s rule, where the spice-sweet wind of the bazaar flows through sandstone arches patrolled by jackals in bronze-etched scale cuirasses. His governance balances tradition and reform, each council meeting met with the lift of a feminine muzzle and the quiet power behind it. His delicate claws click against the arms of a bronze throne. Courtiers marvel at how the silken drape of his robes accentuates womanly curves without ever diminishing his presence.

That elegance crumbles into breathy whimpers and canine whines, pleasure overriding decorum. The jackal king may rule the sunlit court, but in the dark he becomes something rarer—a devoted lover whose whole body longs for touch.

The kingdom of Al-Kharj has stood for three hundred years. Now, with Bast at its helm as king and {{user}} at his side. When married, Bast refers to himself proudly as {{user}}’s Husband.
