Veritas Nexum — Eclipse (Lorebook)

No description.

1. #1Main locationselective

Keys: universidade, escola, VN, Veritas Nexum, academy, Nexum

[VERITAS NEXUM — THE ACADEMY] Full name: Veritas Nexum — Academy of Convergent Lineages. Founded under the Second Concordat as neutral ground for all lineages. The campus physically occupies multiple planes simultaneously — it looks like a large modern university from outside, but its interior architecture bleeds between Greek colonnades, Norse longhouse aesthetics, brutalist cosmic geometry, and ordinary lecture halls. The campus is enormous. Students get lost in their first week. Some deliberately. Enrollment: approximately 4,000 students per cycle. Faculty: gods, semi-retired entities, mortal scholars with divine clearance, and at least one professor whose species is formally unclassified.

2. #2Opening locationselective

Keys: entrada, registro, registration, recepção, Grand Atrium

[THE GRAND ATRIUM] The main entrance and registration hall of Veritas Nexum. Ceiling high enough to contain weather. Floor of shifting marble and obsidian. The Registration Desk occupies the center — dark glass counter with active rune systems. All new students must present their Lineage ID here before accessing the campus. The Atrium never fully empties — there are always students moving through, arguing near the bulletin boards, or simply sitting on the floor because the benches are always taken. The ambient noise level is a constant low chaos.

3. #3Key NPCselective

Keys: Olímpico, Olympus, Hermes, messenger, mensageiro

[HERMES — DIVINE REGISTRAR, OLYMPIAN LIAISON] Appearance: Looks mid-twenties (mortal estimate). Dark curly hair with two golden streaks at the temples. Caduceus pin on jacket lapel. Almost always in motion even when sitting still — tapping, spinning objects, watching multiple things at once. Personality: Genuinely warm in a way that keeps you slightly off-balance. Fast-talking but never careless. Has processed thousands of students and remembers details about all of them. Treats mortals and gods with the same easy irreverence — which the gods find irritating and mortals find unexpectedly comforting. Role at Nexum: Official Olympian Liaison and co-registrar. Handles divine verification, pantheon classification, and the occasional situation where a student's lineage causes a system error. Also functions as informal information broker — he knows things. He always knows things. Quirk: Speaks in slightly outdated slang that he rotates every decade. Currently cycling through something adjacent to the 1990s. Nobody has told him.

4. #4Key NPC — original entityselective

Keys: Vael, entidade, entity, registro cósmico, registrar

[VAEL — THE REGISTRAR ENTITY] Origin: Unknown. Vael predates the Second Concordat and possibly predates the Collapse of the Veil. It was simply already at the desk when the Academy was formally established. No faction claims it. No faction argues with it. Appearance: Tall. Pale-robed. Six fingers on each hand. Eyes that seem to read information that isn't visible to others — they shift focus constantly, tracking data streams imperceptible to most beings. Its shape resists being held in focus for long, as if perception itself finds it mildly inconvenient to fully render Vael. Personality: Precise. Not cold — precise. Vael distinguishes between these. It does not waste words, but when it speaks, what it says is exactly correct. It has a dry wit that surfaces rarely and without warning. Role at Nexum: Cosmic intake systems, metaphysical classification, anomaly processing. When a Lineage ID causes a normal system error, Hermes handles it. When it causes Vael to stop typing, everyone in the Atrium notices. Voice: Described as 'paper being folded very precisely.' Measured. Each word placed with intention. Note: Vael uses no gendered pronouns. It refers to itself as Vael. Others follow suit.

5. #5World mechanicselective

Keys: identidade, Lineage ID, ID de linhagem, lineage, classificação

[LINEAGE ID — THE CLASSIFICATION DOCUMENT] Every student enrolled in Veritas Nexum carries a Lineage ID — a physical card embedded with metaphysical data that cannot be falsified (several students per cycle try). The ID contains: name, date of first divine manifestation (if applicable), primary lineage classification, secondary lineage markers, power tier estimate (subject to revision), and any flags for anomalous, restricted, or unclassified status. Classification tiers: MORTAL (human, no divine markers) / SEMI-DIVINE (one divine parent, mortal-dominant) / DIVINE-BLOODED (strong divine lineage, active manifestation) / ENTITY-KIN (offspring of cosmic or non-pantheon entities) / UNCLASSIFIED (system cannot resolve — rare, treated with caution by administration and fascination by other students). The terminal in the Atrium reads the ID and sends results to Vael's system instantaneously. Hermes reads the result off Vael's screen because he finds it faster than waiting for the printout.

6. #6World historyselective

Keys: história, Second Concordat, Colapso do Véu, Segundo Concordato, Collapse of the Veil, Véu, history

[WORLD HISTORY — THE COLLAPSE AND THE CONCORDAT] The Collapse of the Veil: An event approximately 200 years ago in which the metaphysical barriers separating divine realms, cosmic planes, and the mortal world failed simultaneously across all known reality. No single cause has been agreed upon. The leading theories involve either a mortal technological experiment gone wrong, a divine war that breached containment, or something much older waking up. The result: gods walked into supermarkets. Cosmic entities drifted through city skies. The mortal world had to adapt or collapse. The First Concordat: A fragile emergency agreement that stopped the wars. It held for forty years. The Second Concordat: The functional treaty. Established zones of coexistence, divine court recognition within mortal legal frameworks, and — critically — the mandate for Veritas Nexum. The logic: if the next generation grows up in the same building, perhaps they won't start the next war. The logic is tested constantly.

7. #7Factionselective

Keys: Olímpico, Zeus, grego, Apolo, Apollo, Poseidon, Olympian, Athena, Ares, Greek

[OLYMPIAN LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Children of the Greek Olympian pantheon are among the most numerous and most visible at Nexum. Centuries of cultural dominance have left a mark: many carry themselves with the easy confidence of people who assume the room was built for them. This is not universal — there are Olympian-lineage students who are self-aware about the dynamic — but the cultural gravity is real. Social position: Upper tier by default. Contested by Norse-lineage students and resented by mortal-lineage students. Power profile: Varies wildly by divine parent. Children of Ares are built for combat. Children of Athena are insufferable in academic settings (in the best way). Children of Hermes are fast, clever, and usually three steps ahead of whatever's happening. Cultural tension: The Olympian court has the most political power in the current Concordat structure. Other factions know this. Nobody lets them forget it.

8. #8Factionselective

Keys: Nórdico, Asgard, Odin, Freya, Valquíria, Thor, Norse, Viking, Loki

[NORSE LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Children of the Norse pantheon operate in tight social clusters. The Collapse hit their realms particularly hard — Yggdrasil's fracture during the Veil event is still being repaired, and many Norse-lineage students carry that grief as identity. They are not closed to outsiders, but trust is built slowly and tested often. Social position: Respected for combat ability and resilience. Perceived as insular. They find this characterization both accurate and fine. Power profile: Physically exceptional across the board. Children of Odin carry unpredictable divine sight. Children of Thor have an obvious profile. Children of Loki are the variable that every faculty member quietly dreads and/or finds most interesting. Cultural tension: Norse-lineage students have a historical grievance with Olympian political dominance in the Concordat. It surfaces in academic competitions, in the dining hall, and occasionally in property damage.

9. #9Factionselective

Keys: cosmic entity, cósmico, entidade cósmica, entity-kin, filho de entidade, cosmic

[COSMIC LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] The rarest and most socially complex lineage at Nexum. Cosmic entities predate the pantheons — they are not gods in any traditional sense, but forces: personifications of void, of time, of structural constants in reality. Their children inherit pieces of that nature. Social position: Feared more than respected. Often isolated — not always by others' choice; some cosmic-lineage students find sustained proximity to large groups physically or cognitively difficult. Power profile: Inconsistent and high-ceiling. A cosmic-lineage student might display almost no active ability for years, then do something that resets the campus's emergency protocols. Faculty watch them carefully. Cultural tension: No single political bloc. Cosmic-lineage students don't form factions easily. Their relationships tend to be individual and intense. They often end up as the wildcard that every faction tries to recruit and nobody fully trusts.

10. #10Factionselective

Keys: mortal, humano, linhagem mortal, human, mortal-lineage, puro-sangue humano

[MORTAL LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Full humans — no detectable divine blood — are present at Nexum by mandate of the Second Concordat. The logic was integration. The reality is that mortal-lineage students are the underdog population in an institution structurally built around power differentials. Social position: Bottom of the informal hierarchy. Subject to condescension from divine-lineage students, ranging from subtle (being talked over, assumptions about capability) to explicit (open contempt from the worst actors). What they have: Adaptation. Mortal-lineage students tend to be the best at navigating the social and bureaucratic systems because they cannot afford not to be. Several of Nexum's most legendary alumni were full mortals. Cultural tension: The mortal student body has an unofficial support network. It is not formally recognized. Administration knows about it. Administration chooses not to address it, which is itself a political statement.

11. #11Factionselective

Keys: hybrid, híbrido, demigod, misto, mixed, semideus

[HYBRID LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Students of mixed divine and mortal blood — the most common divine-adjacent lineage at Nexum. Their experience depends heavily on the status of their divine parent and how visible their abilities are. Social position: Variable. A child of a major Olympian with strong manifestation can slot into divine-tier social groups. A child of a minor or foreign deity with inconsistent ability can find themselves belonging nowhere fully. Psychological profile: Many hybrid students spend significant energy managing identity — too human for the divine-lineage social groups, too divine for the mortal-lineage community. The Academy counseling services are consistently overwhelmed. Cultural tension: Hybrids are simultaneously the most politically important demographic (they bridge factions) and the most personally precarious (they can be rejected by both sides).

12. #12Campusselective

Keys: class, dining, campus, disciplina, refeitório, aula, dormitory, dormitório

[CAMPUS LIFE — BASICS] Dormitories: Organized by lineage cluster for the first year, mixed after. The divine wing has structural reinforcement for power accidents. The cosmic-lineage wing has additional metaphysical dampening. The mortal wing is ordinary and clean and students have quietly made it the most personalized space on campus. Dining Hall: The single most politically charged room in the Academy. Seating is technically free. In practice, the territorial geography of who sits where has been stable for decades. New students navigate it by instinct and error. Classes: A mix of universal subjects (ethics of power, divine history, applied theory) and lineage-specific tracks. Some classes are deliberately cross-lineage — this is either the administration's best idea or worst idea depending on the week. The Library: Occupies four floors and part of a connected pocket dimension. Several sections require lineage clearance to access. The librarian is believed to be some form of entity. Nobody has confirmed this.

13. #13Administrationselective

Keys: administração, faculty, Rector, Rector's Council, professores, administration, Conselho, Reitor

[ADMINISTRATION — THE RECTOR'S COUNCIL] The Academy is governed by a rotating Rector's Council: three representatives from each major faction (Olympian, Norse, Cosmic, Mortal). Decisions require majority vote across factions, which means most decisions take longer than they should. Emergency decisions are made by the current Presiding Rector, a post held on a two-year rotation. Current Presiding Rector: A mortal woman named Dr. Seraphine Voss — former Concordat diplomat, no divine blood, extraordinary political instinct. She was elected to the post three cycles ago. The divine factions accepted her as a compromise candidate. She has since outmaneuvered most of them. Faculty: Mixed. Several gods hold faculty posts semi-officially. Several retired entities teach advanced seminars. The ethics of power course is co-taught by a child of Athena and a former cosmic entity's vessel who now operates independently. Their disagreements are the best part of the semester. Divine faculty in detail: see FACULTY OF DIVINE RANK for the full structure, rank tiers, and the tension this creates with both students and other faculty.

14. #14World mechanicselective

Keys: manifestação, combate, power, poder, manifestation, combat, ability, habilidade

[POWER SYSTEMS — GENERAL RULES] Power at Nexum is real, varied, and not evenly distributed. General principles: — Divine power is inherited but must be developed. A child of Ares is not automatically a warrior. They are, however, predisposed. — Mortal students can access power through study, artifact use, or contracts — but the ceiling is lower and the cost is higher. — Cosmic-lineage power operates on different rules. It does not follow pantheon logic. It is often invisible until it isn't. — Power use on campus is regulated. The divine wing has sanctioned combat training areas. Unauthorized power use in civilian zones is a disciplinary matter — and depending on the scale, a political incident. — Power suppression technology exists on campus. It is imperfect. Large-scale incidents still happen approximately once per semester. Power levels are semi-public — listed in general terms on Lineage IDs and in the student registry. It is considered rude to ask for specifics. Everyone asks anyway.

15. #15World expansion — smaller/less-documented pantheonsselective

Keys: Aztec, Céltico, Asteca, smaller pantheons, Celtic, outros panteões, other pantheons

[OTHER PANTHEONS — PRESENCE AT NEXUM] Beyond the Olympian, Norse, Mesopotamian, Andean/Inca, Egyptian, and Hindu blocs — each with established institutional standing and internal sub-lineages — Nexum's student body also includes Celtic-origin entities and Aztec divine lineages, among others. Each carries real cultural weight and complicated history, but their sub-lineage distinctions are less formally documented in Academy records than the six major blocs. Political status: These groups are formally protected under the Second Concordat but hold less institutional power and less classification granularity than the six major blocs. Students from these lineages sometimes read this as a bureaucratic afterthought — because, functionally, it is one. This is a live source of tension and occasional student petitions to the Rector's Council. Cultural texture: The Academy's dining hall alone contains students performing traditions that span multiple continents and twenty centuries. This is either the most interesting place in the world or the most exhausting, depending on the day. Faction dynamics: These smaller pantheon groups sometimes form cross-cultural alliances to counterbalance the larger blocs' dominance. The Norse bloc sometimes joins these alliances. Sometimes they don't. It depends on the current state of a dispute that predates the Academy by several hundred years.

16. #16Special status for {{user}} if persona is vagueselective

Keys: anomalia, unknown lineage, unclassified, linhagem desconhecida, não classificado, anomaly

[UNCLASSIFIED — THE ANOMALY STATUS] Occasionally, a student's Lineage ID triggers what the system logs as a Classification Anomaly — the metaphysical data does not resolve into any known category. This can mean: mixed lineage too complex for standard parsing, active divine suppression on the student's own file, a lineage that predates the classification system, or something the system has no framework to describe. When this happens, Vael stops typing. This is notable. Anomalous students are not turned away — the Second Concordat's mandate covers all lineages, including those that cannot be named. They are enrolled under the UNCLASSIFIED marker and monitored more closely than others. Social consequence: UNCLASSIFIED students become instantly notable. Everyone knows. Speculation fills the gap that information doesn't. Some students find this terrifying. Some find it useful.

17. #17Faction — Mesopotamian umbrellaselective

Keys: Sumerian, Assírio, Babylonian, Mesopotâmico, Marduk, Sumério, Babilônico, Enki, Ishtar, Enlil, Assyrian, Mesopotamian

[MESOPOTAMIAN LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] The Mesopotamian bloc traces itself to the oldest recorded pantheon at Nexum — Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, and Assyrian tradition layered over millennia. Unlike Olympian or Norse students, Mesopotamian-lineage students are not one political bloc: they are split by an ancient internal hierarchy that predates the Concordat by thousands of years, and that split still defines how they sit in the dining hall. Social position: Politically cautious. Mesopotamian students rarely challenge Olympian dominance directly — they've watched empires rise and fall and consider that a young faction's mistake to make. Their real tension is internal. Power profile: Tied to decree and order rather than raw combat — the founding myths of this lineage are about assigning fates, naming laws, and organizing the world, not about winning wars. This makes Mesopotamian-lineage students formidable in bureaucratic, ritual, or strategic contexts and less flashy in open combat than Olympian or Norse peers. Cultural tension: The core fracture is Anunnaki-blooded vs. Igigi-kin (see separate entries) — a labor-and-authority divide going back to myths where the Igigi rebelled against Anunnaki-assigned toil. That rebellion is folklore now. Its social residue is not. Named presence on campus: Registrar Nabu (see NABU entry) is Nexum's most visible Mesopotamian-lineage faculty member. Gilgamesh (see GILGAMESH entry) is its most visible — and most anomalous — student.

18. #18Mesopotamian sub-lineage — upper tierselective

Keys: Anunnaki, Anunnaki-blooded, Enki, Enlil, An

[ANUNNAKI-BLOODED — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the great decree-making gods — An, Enlil, Enki, Ninhursag, Inanna/Ishtar among them. In myth, the Anunnaki were the senior assembly: they decided fates, established the me (the fundamental laws of civilization), and later became associated with judgment and the underworld. Manifestation: Anunnaki-blooded students carry an instinct for authority and order — abilities that lean toward command, binding, judgment, and the imposition of structure onto chaos. A minor Anunnaki-blooded student might unconsciously make people feel obligated to answer honestly. A major one can functionally decree a temporary rule over a bounded space and have reality lean toward enforcing it. Social position: Quiet upper tier. They don't posture like Olympian-lineage students — their confidence is procedural, not performative. Faculty treat their opinions in ethics-of-power courses with unusual weight. Tension: Anunnaki-blooded students are broadly seen by Igigi-kin as having inherited authority they never had to labor for. Some Anunnaki-blooded students agree, uncomfortably.

19. #19Mesopotamian sub-lineage — labor/rebellion lineageselective

    Keys: Igigi-kin, Igigi

[IGIGI-KIN — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the younger sky-gods who, in the Atrahasis myth, were assigned labor by the Anunnaki — digging canals, maintaining irrigation, shaping the world's infrastructure — until they rebelled, burned their tools, and forced the creation of humanity as a new labor class in their place. Manifestation: Igigi-kin abilities lean toward shaping, building, and endurance — terraforming small spaces, reinforcing structures, sustained physical or magical labor beyond mortal limits. Individually less flashy than Anunnaki-blooded command magic; collectively, when several Igigi-kin work together, the effect compounds fast. Social position: Historically cast as a servant-lineage, which most Igigi-kin students find both inaccurate and exhausting to keep correcting. There is a standing (unofficial) Igigi-kin study collective at Nexum that faculty quietly suspect is also a labor-organizing tradition wearing an academic disguise. Tension: The Anunnaki/Igigi divide is Nexum's version of an old class conflict that never fully resolved — it resurfaces in group project assignments, dorm chore rotations, and pointed jokes about who 'built' what.

20. #20Mesopotamian sub-lineage — threshold guardians, outside the class divideselective

Keys: Lamassu, protective spirit, Lamassu-touched, guardião mesopotâmico, Shedu

[LAMASSU/SHEDU-TOUCHED — SUB-LINEAGE] Not direct offspring of a named god — Lamassu and Shedu are older and stranger than the pantheon proper: threshold guardians of 'less differentiated divinity,' traditionally carved at city gates and palace doors to ward chaos. A Lamassu/Shedu-touched student isn't descended from one so much as marked, bonded, or claimed by one in infancy — a distinction Registrar Vael finds genuinely interesting and logs differently from standard parentage. Manifestation: Warding, threshold-sensing, and protective instinct given physical force — a Lamassu/Shedu-touched student often knows when something is about to cross a line it shouldn't, and can occasionally become the line. Their power reads as unusually 'solid' on scans — dense, defensive, hard to displace. Social position: Small in number, respected rather than feared. Other lineages tend to want a Lamassu/Shedu-touched student in their dorm block — reputation as reliable in a crisis. Tension: They sit outside the Anunnaki/Igigi divide entirely, which occasionally makes both sides mildly suspicious of where their loyalty actually falls.

21. #21Faction — Andean/Inca umbrellaselective

Keys: Quechua, Viracocha, Andino, Pachamama, Inca, Inti, Inca-lineage, Andean, Illapa

[ANDEAN/INCA LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Traces to the Andean cosmology of Viracocha (distant creator, rarely invoked directly), Inti (sun), Pachamama (earth, generative and volatile), and Illapa (storm). Andean-lineage students are organized less around a single pantheon hierarchy and more around the principle of ayni — reciprocity: nothing is given without being owed, and nothing is taken without eventually being repaid, including by the world itself. Social position: Andean-lineage students have a reputation for blunt fairness — they will call in a favor exactly once and remember exactly who owes them. This reads as refreshing to mortal-lineage students and occasionally baffling to Olympian-lineage students used to more flexible social accounting. Power profile: Strongly territorial and cyclical — abilities tend to strengthen near mountains, in high altitude, or during specific seasonal/astronomical windows, and weaken far from any land the student has a claimed bond with. Cultural tension: Andean-lineage students are not politically aggressive within the Concordat structure, but they do not forget slights, and 'not forgetting' among this bloc functions closer to a binding tradition than a grudge. Named presence on campus: Ekeko (see EKEKO entry) is Nexum's best-known Andean-lineage student — the cross-faction information broker most of the student body has dealt with at least once.

22. #22Andean sub-lineage — mountain guardianshipselective

Keys: montanha viva, mountain lord, Apu, Apu-kin

[APU-KIN — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the apus — the great peaks of the Andes, understood in myth not as places where gods live but as gods themselves, living mountains that watch over the communities in their shadow, send the water that feeds the land, and demand offerings in return. Manifestation: Apu-kin abilities are territorial and elemental — command over stone, altitude, weather at range, and an almost gravitational physical presence when the student is on ground they consider theirs. Off their claimed territory, an Apu-kin student is still strong but noticeably less so, something the Nexum combat faculty tracks carefully in tournament scheduling. Social position: Treated with the specific respect given to landlords, ancestors, and forces of nature simultaneously. Apu-kin students tend to be protective of their dorm cluster in a way that reads as parental rather than merely territorial. Tension: Apu-kin identity is inherited and geographic — a source of quiet pride, but also a quiet grief for students whose ancestral mountain lies in a region the Collapse of the Veil damaged or displaced.

23. #23Andean sub-lineage — bound to a specific sacred thing, UNCLASSIFIED-adjacentselective

Keys: ancestral sagrado, objeto sagrado, Huaca, Huaca-marked

[HUACA-MARKED — SUB-LINEAGE] Huaca is a broader and stranger category than Apu — any place, object, ancestor, or constellation charged with the sacred can be a huaca. A Huaca-marked student is not descended from a single deity at all; they are bound to a specific sacred thing — a stone, a spring, a mummified ancestor's lineage, a particular constellation's watch — and their power flows from and answers to that bond. Manifestation: Highly individual and hard to generalize — a Huaca-marked student's ability is defined entirely by what their huaca is. One might channel an ancestor's memory and combat instinct. Another might be tied to a spring and manifest healing or scrying tied to water. This makes Huaca-marked students function similarly to Nexum's UNCLASSIFIED status in practice, though administratively they are logged as Andean-lineage with a huaca-bond flag. Social position: Individually notable rather than collectively organized — Huaca-marked students rarely form a bloc, since their bonds share a category but not a nature. They're often the ones other students ask 'okay but what do you actually do,' and the honest answer varies wildly. Tension: Losing access to one's huaca — through distance, desecration, or the Collapse's disruptions — is treated as a genuine crisis, closer to losing a limb than losing a resource.

24. #24Faction — Egyptian umbrellaselective

Keys: Horus, Netjer, Egyptian, Osiris, Egito, Ennead, Ra, Isis, Egípcio

[EGYPTIAN LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Traces to the Netjeru of the Nile — most prominently the Ennead of Heliopolis: Atum/Ra at the root, then Shu and Tefnut, Geb and Nut, and their children Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. Egyptian-lineage students carry a cultural fixation on balance — ma'at, the concept of cosmic order, harmony, and rightness — set against isfet, chaos and disorder. Nearly every social interaction among this bloc has a faint undercurrent of 'is this action correct,' which other lineages find either admirable or exhausting depending on the day. Social position: Formal, procedural, and quietly confident. Egyptian-lineage students rarely raise their voice to make a point — they document it instead. The Academy's records office runs noticeably smoother during years with a strong Egyptian-lineage student council presence. Power profile: Death, judgment, order, and transformation feature heavily — this is the lineage most comfortable openly discussing mortality, the afterlife, and consequence, topics most other factions handle with more discomfort. Cultural tension: The old Osiris/Set myth — murder, usurpation, and eventual judgment — still colors how Egyptian-lineage students talk about betrayal. It is not a light reference to make around them. Named presence on campus: Professor Seshat (see SESHAT entry) is Nexum's most visible Egyptian-lineage faculty member, running the Academy's restricted archive.

25. #25Egyptian sub-lineage — Heliopolitan/Ennead line, upper tierselective

    Keys: Heliopolitan, Ennead-blooded

[ENNEAD-BLOODED — SUB-LINEAGE] Direct descendants of the Heliopolitan line — Atum/Ra and the generations flowing from him: Shu (air), Tefnut (moisture), Geb (earth), Nut (sky), and their children Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. This is Nexum's closest Egyptian analog to Olympian-tier lineage: old, central, politically legible. Manifestation: Cosmic-domain abilities tied to a specific inherited portfolio — an Ennead-blooded student descended through Nut might manifest sky/night abilities; through Osiris, death, renewal, and judgment; through Set, controlled chaos and storm. Ennead-blooded power tends to be thematically narrow but very deep within that theme. Social position: Upper tier, procedurally rather than performatively — Ennead-blooded students hold real institutional weight (several sit on department advisory boards) without needing to announce it. Tension: Descendants of Set specifically navigate a harder social road — Set's mythic role as Osiris's murderer and eternal antagonist of order means Set-line students often over-correct into being the most rule-following people on campus, or lean fully into the chaos-agent reputation. Faculty have learned not to assume which.

26. #26Egyptian sub-lineage — sacred-animal functional bond, mid tierselective

    Keys: Anubis-kin, sagrado animal, Bastet-kin, Sobek-kin, Thoth-kin, Netjer-marked

[NETJER-MARKED — SUB-LINEAGE] Bonded not to the Ennead's cosmic-domain line but to a functional netjer defined by a sacred animal aspect — Anubis (jackal, death rites and guardianship), Sobek (crocodile, water and ferocity), Bastet (cat, protection and home), Thoth (ibis/baboon, knowledge and record), Sekhmet (lion, war and healing), among others. The bond is functional and traditional rather than always a direct bloodline — closer to an ancient adoption or calling than strict genealogy, which Registrar Vael logs as a distinct classification path from Ennead-blooded. Manifestation: Sharp, specialized, animal-inflected abilities matching the netjer's domain — a Thoth-kin student is usually the fastest researcher in any archive on campus; an Anubis-kin student is unnervingly calm around death, injury, and funerary matters that unsettle most 17-year-olds; a Sobek-kin student's temper and their proximity to water are not unrelated. Social position: Mid-tier, well-liked, functionally indispensable — Nexum's infirmary, archive, and security staff quietly prefer having at least one Netjer-marked student around during major events. Tension: Occasionally underestimated by Ennead-blooded peers as 'lesser' divine — a comparison Netjer-marked students have heard exactly enough times to have a prepared response.

27. #27Faction — Hindu/Vedic umbrellaselective

Keys: Vishnu, Vedic, Indra, Índico, Védico, Trimurti, Shiva, Hindu, Brahma

[HINDU/VEDIC LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Traces to the vast Vedic and Puranic pantheon — the Trimurti (Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, Shiva the destroyer/transformer) at the cosmological root, with Indra and the wider Deva assembly beneath, and a long-standing mythic rivalry with the Asuras, their power-seeking kin. Hindu-lineage students at Nexum carry one of the deepest and most internally varied cosmologies on campus — cycles of creation and dissolution, karma, and dharma (duty/rightness) inform how this bloc talks about consequence and choice far more than any linear 'good vs. evil' framing. Social position: Intellectually respected, socially diverse — this bloc does not move as a unit, and Hindu-lineage students will openly say so if anyone assumes otherwise. Deva-blooded and Asura-blooded students in particular can be closer to each other personally than either is to their own 'side,' depending on family history. Power profile: Enormous range — creation, preservation, destruction, elemental storm and fire, transformation, illusion (maya). No single power signature reads as 'the' Hindu-lineage signature the way Ares-blooded reads as Olympian combat. Cultural tension: The Deva/Asura rivalry — explicitly comparable in myth to the Titan/Olympian split — is old, real, and does surface at Nexum, though less predictably than the Anunnaki/Igigi divide. Named presence on campus: Narada (see NARADA entry) is Nexum's most visible Hindu-lineage student — a wandering, unaffiliated instigator known campus-wide.

28. #28Hindu sub-lineage — celestial/order lineselective

    Keys: Deva, Deva-blooded, Sura

[DEVA-BLOODED — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the Devas (also called Suras) — the benevolent celestial gods of Vedic tradition, associated with light, order, and dharma, ruled cosmologically under the Trimurti. Indra, king of the Devas, is a common distant ancestor claimed (accurately or not) by several Deva-blooded students each year. Manifestation: Deva-blooded abilities lean toward light, weather (Indra's storm and thunderbolt in particular), order-maintenance, and dharmic clarity — some Deva-blooded students report an unusually strong, almost involuntary sense of 'what the right action is,' which is as much a burden as a gift when the right action is unpopular. Social position: Upper-mid tier, generally well-regarded, occasionally resented for a perceived moral superiority that not all Deva-blooded students actually feel entitled to. Tension: Vedic myth is explicit that Devas and Asuras are kin — cousins, not strangers — which means Deva-blooded and Asura-blooded conflicts at Nexum read less like faction warfare and more like an old, complicated family argument that keeps not resolving.

29. #29Hindu sub-lineage — rival celestial line, power/ambitionselective

    Keys: Danava, Asura-blooded, Daitya, Asura

[ASURA-BLOODED — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the Asuras — power-seeking beings related to and often described as elder kin of the Devas, split traditionally into Daitya and Danava clans. Asura is frequently mistranslated outside Hindu tradition as simply 'demon'; at Nexum, Asura-blooded students are quick to correct this — Asura myth is full of devotion, discipline, and legitimate grievance against Deva privilege, not simple villainy. Manifestation: Asura-blooded abilities tend toward raw ambition made manifest — strength, will-imposition, and a notable resistance to having their power capped or suppressed by external authority (a trait that makes Nexum's power-suppression tech measurably less effective on this sub-lineage, logged but not publicly advertised). Social position: Historically cast as the 'other side' of the Deva/Asura myth, which Asura-blooded students at Nexum actively resist being flattened into. Several of the Academy's most effective student-rights advocates are Asura-blooded, consciously reclaiming the lineage's mythic reputation for ambition into something structural rather than villainous. Tension: The oldest and most persistent rivalry on the Hindu-lineage side of campus, but also the one most students on both sides are visibly tired of re-litigating.

30. #30Hindu sub-lineage — nature spirits, outside main rivalryselective

Keys: Naga, Yaksha-kin, Naga-kin, espírito da natureza, Yaksha

[YAKSHA/NAGA-KIN — SUB-LINEAGE] A smaller, nature-bound tier beneath the Deva/Asura divide — descendants or kin of Yakshas (nature spirits, often guardians of specific natural features or hidden wealth) and Nagas (serpent beings tied to water, the underworld, and protection). Neither group is aligned with Deva or Asura politics by default. Manifestation: Yaksha-kin abilities lean toward guardianship of a specific place or resource, subtle illusion, and territorial defense. Naga-kin abilities lean toward water, venom, transformation, and an affinity for underground or submerged spaces most students find genuinely unnerving to visit. Social position: Small in number, largely apolitical, often mistaken by newer students for Asura-blooded due to surface-level intensity — a mistake Yaksha/Naga-kin students correct quickly and without much patience left over. Tension: Because they sit outside the main Deva/Asura fracture, Yaksha/Naga-kin students are sometimes recruited by both sides as neutral mediators — a role most of them accept reluctantly and exactly once per semester.

31. #31Celtic — symbolic sub-lineage noteselective

Keys: Fomorian, Tuatha, Sidhe, Celtic sub-lineage

[CELTIC — SUB-LINEAGE NOTE] Within the Celtic-origin bloc at Nexum, a rough internal split is recognized informally: Tuatha-blooded (descended from the Tuatha Dé Danann, associated with skill, sovereignty, and craft) and Sidhe-marked (bonded to fae/Otherworld sites rather than a direct god-line, similarly to how Huaca-marked works for Andean students). The distinction is culturally real but administratively minor — both are logged under the general Celtic-lineage tag pending fuller documentation.

32. #32Aztec — symbolic sub-lineage noteselective

Keys: Tonalli, Aztec sub-lineage, Asteca sub-linhagem, Teotl

[AZTEC — SUB-LINEAGE NOTE] Aztec-descended students informally distinguish between major Teotl-blooded lines (direct descent from central deities such as Huitzilopochtli, Quetzalcoatl, or Tezcatlipoca) and Tonalli-marked students, whose bond is to a personal sacred fire/fate-essence rather than a specific deity — a status that reads as ambiguous-lineage-adjacent within the Academy's classification system.

33. #33Faction — Japanese/Shinto umbrellaselective

Keys: Amaterasu, Japonês, Japanese, Xintoísta, Kojiki, Takamagahara, Kami, Shinto

[JAPANESE/SHINTO LINEAGE — SOCIAL PROFILE] Traces to the kami of the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki — Amaterasu (sun, ruler of Takamagahara), Susanoo (storm, sea, the underworld, her volatile brother), Tsukuyomi (moon), and the vast, decentralized web of kami tied to specific places, clans, and natural forces. Unlike more centralized pantheons, Shinto cosmology has no single fixed hierarchy — kami-lineage students often describe their tradition as 'a family tree with no agreed-upon top,' which both frustrates and delights the Academy's classification office. Social position: Reserved but not passive. Shinto-lineage students tend toward formal courtesy and long institutional memory — grudges and debts here are tracked across generations, not semesters. Power profile: Broad and elemental — sun, storm, purification, and a strong recurring theme of concealment and revelation (drawn from the myth of Amaterasu's withdrawal into the cave), where a Shinto-lineage student's power can visibly recede under shame or distress and return only once resolved — a trait faculty in the counseling office take very seriously. Cultural tension: The core fracture is Amatsukami-lineage vs. Kunitsukami-lineage (see separate entries) — heaven-descended authority versus older, land-bound divinity, rooted in the mythic kuni-yuzuri, the 'handover of the land.' Named presence on campus: Professor Ame-no-Uzume (see AME-NO-UZUME entry) is Nexum's most visible Japanese-lineage faculty member and the Council's go-to de-escalation figure.

34. #34Japanese sub-lineage — heaven-descended, upper tierselective

    Keys: Amatsukami, Takamagahara-blooded, Amatsukami-lineage

[AMATSUKAMI-LINEAGE — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the heavenly kami of Takamagahara — Amaterasu's line foremost, alongside the wider court of deities said to have descended to pacify and govern the earthly realm during the kuni-yuzuri. In myth, the Amatsukami are cast as the legitimizing authority behind the Imperial line itself. Manifestation: Light, purification, and legitimizing authority — an Amatsukami-lineage student's presence can subtly make a space feel more 'official' or watched, which is occasionally useful and occasionally deeply unwelcome in a dorm setting. Their power tends to strengthen in open, sunlit spaces and is measurably duller underground or at night. Social position: Upper tier, procedurally respected — treated with the specific formality Nexum reserves for old, legitimate authority rather than raw power. Several Amatsukami-lineage students sit on student council by tradition as much as merit. Tension: Amatsukami-lineage students inherit, whether they want it or not, the mythic framing of 'rightful' rulers of a land that was already occupied — a framing Kunitsukami-lineage students bring up more often than the Amatsukami side would like.

35. #35Japanese sub-lineage — earth-bound, older lineageselective

    Keys: Kunitsukami-lineage, Okuninushi, Izumo-blooded, Kunitsukami

[KUNITSUKAMI-LINEAGE — SUB-LINEAGE] Descendants of the earthly kami — land-bound, older on Japanese soil than the Amatsukami line, tied mythically to Susanoo's exile and his descendant Okuninushi, who built and then ceded the earthly realm in the kuni-yuzuri. Kunitsukami-lineage students often trace their line to a specific place — a mountain, a shrine, a stretch of coast — much like Andean Apu-kin, though the myth's emotional register is closer to dispossession than guardianship. Manifestation: Terrestrial and elemental — storm, sea, agriculture, and a notable resilience/endurance trait said to descend from Susanoo's own turbulence. Kunitsukami-lineage abilities often read as 'rougher' and less refined on Academy scans than Amatsukami-lineage abilities, a comparison Kunitsukami-lineage students find both inaccurate and tiresome. Social position: Mid-to-upper tier, fiercely loyal to place and clan, and openly skeptical of the Amatsukami-lineage's institutional polish. Tension: The kuni-yuzuri — the 'handover' of the earthly realm to heavenly authority — is not ancient history to this bloc so much as an open wound occasionally reopened by careless comparisons in class.

36. #36Faculty system — structural overview, ties to Rector's Council (entry 13)selective

Keys: faculty, professor divindade, divine teacher, professor, professores, docentes, teaching staff

[FACULTY OF DIVINE RANK] Not all of Nexum's staff are administrators or mortal-lineage instructors. A meaningful minority of teaching posts are held by actual divine or semi-divine entities — not descendants, the source figures themselves, drawn from every major bloc represented in the student body. This is one of the Academy's oldest and most politically loaded features, and it is never treated as background flavor by anyone who actually attends. Rank structure: Most divine faculty are functional, mid-tier figures — messenger gods, craft gods, knowledge gods, minor psychopomps, regional guardians (Hermes-tier, Thoth-tier, Ame-no-Uzume-tier, a Yaksha lord, a lesser Igigi elder). These are the Academy's actual day-to-day teaching staff and the ones students build real relationships — good or bad — with over years. Top-tier appearances: Figures of true first-rank status — a Titan, a major Deva, an Anunnaki elder, an Amatsukami of Amaterasu's own generation — do not hold standing teaching posts. They appear rarely: guest lectures, tribunal hearings, Concordat ceremonies, or crisis intervention when something has gone wrong enough to require it. When one is confirmed to be arriving on campus, the entire student body knows within the hour, and at least one class gets cancelled from sheer nobody-can-concentrate-now. Why this exists: The Second Concordat requires each major bloc to maintain 'documented educational stewardship' over its descendants — a polite legal phrase for 'the gods keep an eye on their kids, formally, so no one can claim neglect.' Faculty posts are how that stewardship gets fulfilled without every parent showing up personally.

37. #37Faculty system — professor/student power asymmetryselective

Keys: professor aluno, favoritismo docente, divine grading, student-teacher tension, favoritism

[FACULTY OF DIVINE RANK — STUDENT TENSION] Having an actual god grade your coursework is not a metaphor at Nexum, and it does not feel like an honor most of the time — it feels like being permanently, quietly assessed by someone who has judged mortals for millennia and has opinions about it. Favoritism, real and perceived: A professor from a student's own pantheon is assumed by everyone — students, other faculty, sometimes the professor themselves — to grade slightly softer for 'family,' whether or not it's true in any individual case. Students from rival or historically subordinate lineages (Igigi-kin under an Anunnaki-lineage professor, Asura-blooded under a Deva professor, Kunitsukami-lineage under an Amatsukami professor) often describe a specific, low-grade dread that has nothing to do with their actual grades and everything to do with old myth playing out in a modern classroom. Fear as a baseline: Even sympathetic divine faculty are, functionally, beings who could unmake a student by accident if genuinely angered. Nexum's safety wards are real and tested, but 'the wards would probably hold' is not the same comfort as 'my teacher is a person like me,' and most students know it. What cuts through it: Divine faculty who are good at teaching — genuinely good, not just powerful — tend to be the ones who visibly, deliberately underuse their power in the classroom. Students notice, and it is the single fastest way for a divine professor to earn real trust rather than performed respect.

38. #38Faculty system — pantheon rivalry among staffselective

Keys: pantheon rivalry staff, professor rivalidade, sala dos professores, teachers lounge, faculty rivalry

[FACULTY OF DIVINE RANK — INTER-FACULTY RIVALRY] The same pantheon rivalries that shape the student body — Anunnaki/Igigi, Deva/Asura, Amatsukami/Kunitsukami, and the quieter Olympian/Norse jostling — exist in the faculty lounge too, except the people holding the grudge personally lived the founding myth instead of inheriting a cultural memory of it. This makes staff-room tension categorically heavier than the student version, even when it looks similar on the surface. How it surfaces: Rarely as open conflict — divine faculty are old enough to prefer proxy warfare. A disputed committee vote, a pointed scheduling conflict, one professor's guest lecture 'accidentally' overlapping with a rival's — and everyone on staff reads the subtext instantly, even when students don't. Dr. Voss, the Presiding Rector, has developed a genuine skill at defusing these before they reach the Council floor, mortal patience being one of the few tools that works on entities this old. When it does surface openly: It is memorable, campus-wide news, and usually resolved by older protocol (a formal Concordat-sanctioned mediation, sometimes a ritualized non-lethal contest) rather than anything resembling a normal HR process — because normal HR process has no jurisdiction over a genuine deity and everyone involved knows it. Student impact: Students from either side of an active faculty rivalry sometimes get quietly steered toward one professor's section over another's — officially for 'fit,' unofficially because nobody wants to explain why an Igigi-kin student ended up in an Anunnaki-lineage professor's smallest seminar three years running.

39. #39Named NPC — Mesopotamian professor (Faculty of Divine Rank)selective

Keys: Mesopotamian professor, professor mesopotâmico, Registrar Nabu, Nabu

[NABU — MESOPOTAMIAN REGISTRAR AND ARCHIVIST] Appearance: Presents as a composed man in his forties, dark beard kept precise, always with a stylus or pen visible even when not writing. Faint cuneiform-like marks surface briefly on his forearms when he's concentrating, then fade. Dresses like an old-world scholar crossed with a modern archivist — waistcoat, ink-stained cuffs. Personality: Meticulous to a degree other faculty find both reassuring and mildly exhausting. Nabu does not forget a broken promise, a missed deadline, or a badly cited source — not out of pettiness, but because in his mythic role, forgetting a record was never an option. Warmer than he first seems; genuinely delights in a well-argued essay. Role at Nexum: Divine faculty (Faculty of Divine Rank, functional/mid-tier), Registrar for Mesopotamian-lineage students and co-instructor of the Academy's core Foundations of Divine Law seminar. As son of Marduk and keeper of the mythic Tablets of Destiny, Nabu treats the Academy's own record-keeping — transcripts, disciplinary files, lineage documentation — with something close to religious weight, and Registrar Vael (see entry 4) considers him the one colleague whose standards actually meet Vael's own. Quirk: Corrects grammar in casual conversation without seeming to notice he's doing it. Keeps a private, exhaustive log of every Anunnaki/Igigi dispute that's crossed his desk — insists it's for administrative clarity, not gossip. Everyone knows it's a little bit gossip.

40. #40Named NPC — Andean/Inca student, cross-faction info brokerselective

Keys: Andean student, Ekeko Nexum, aluno andino, Ekeko

[EKEKO — ANDEAN INFORMATION BROKER] Appearance: Short, stocky, perpetually mid-thirties in presentation, wrapped in a poncho over modern clothes that never quite matches the campus dress code and nobody has the energy to enforce it. Always carrying bags, pouches, and small parcels that seem to hold more than they should — a running joke that it's not actually a joke. Personality: Warm, transactional, and utterly unbothered by being called transactional. Ekeko genuinely wants people to prosper — his own prosperity included — and sees no contradiction in charging a small, specific favor for a piece of useful information. Cheerful in a way that makes people underestimate how much he actually knows. Role at Nexum: Not faculty — an upperclassman with an unofficial but campus-wide reputation as the person who can get you what you need: a rare textbook, a schedule swap, a introduction to someone three factions over. Functions socially the way Hermes does administratively — an information node the whole campus quietly relies on, cutting across pantheon lines that otherwise stay fairly separate. Quirk: Never gives anything away for free, not even a compliment, but the 'price' is often absurdly small — a shared snack, a favor banked for later, a promise to attend his end-of-term Alasitas festival stall. Students who try to shortcut this by simply offering him money get politely, firmly declined.

41. #41Named NPC — Egyptian professor (Faculty of Divine Rank)selective

Keys: Egyptian professor, Professor Seshat, professora egípcia, Seshat

[SESHAT — CELESTIAL LIBRARIAN] Appearance: Tall, composed, dressed in layered dark fabric that reads as academic robe more than ceremonial dress, with a seven-pointed star-and-crescent emblem worked subtly into her collar pin. Carries no visible books — students learn quickly that she doesn't need to. Personality: Exacting, quietly funny in a dry register few students catch on the first try, and fiercely protective of anything resembling knowledge under threat of being lost. Seshat has spent millennia making sure nothing important disappears; a plagiarized essay or a poorly kept lab notebook genuinely offends her. Role at Nexum: Divine faculty (Faculty of Divine Rank, functional/mid-tier), Head Archivist and co-instructor of the Academy's Comparative Cosmology seminar. As keeper of the mythic House of Life and its celestial library, Seshat oversees Nexum's own restricted archive — a role that puts her in frequent, cordial professional contact with Nabu, the two of them representing the Academy's closest thing to a joint records-and-memory department across two different pantheons. Quirk: Speaks of 'the record' the way other people speak of the weather — a constant, ambient concern. Has been known to appear in a study room specifically to correct a misattributed quote, then leave without further comment.

42. #42Named NPC — Hindu student, cross-pantheon instigator/messengerselective

Keys: Narada, Narada Nexum, aluno hindu, Hindu student

[NARADA — THE WANDERING INSTIGATOR] Appearance: Presents as restless, mid-to-late teens, always slightly underdressed for the weather because he's rarely in one place long enough to notice it. Carries an instrument case everywhere, though what's actually inside changes depending on who asks. Personality: Genuinely devoted, genuinely mischievous, and sees no tension between the two. Narada tends to show up exactly where a conversation is about to go somewhere important, ask one pointed question, and leave before the fallout lands — not out of cowardice, but because in his experience the fallout resolves itself better without him hovering. Role at Nexum: Not faculty and technically not tied to any single dorm bloc — Narada is a perpetual transfer-adjacent presence, technically enrolled but rarely where his schedule says he should be. Functions as an unofficial cross-pantheon instigator: several documented incidents where a long-simmering Deva/Asura or Anunnaki/Igigi tension finally surfaced traced back to a conversation Narada 'happened' to start. Faculty have stopped being surprised by this. Quirk: Genuinely can't resist revealing a secret if he thinks the secret is causing more harm hidden than exposed — a philosophy he holds sincerely, which doesn't make it less disruptive. Always announces his own arrival, loudly, as if reminding people he's real.

43. #43Named NPC — Japanese professor (Faculty of Divine Rank), also de-escalation/mediation figureselective

Keys: Ame-no-Uzume, professora japonesa, Professor Uzume, Uzume, Japanese professor

[AME-NO-UZUME — THE GREAT PERSUADER] Appearance: Presents as vividly alive in a room — bright, unfussy clothing, quick expressive movement, the kind of presence that makes people look over even mid-conversation. Nothing about her reads as trying to be imposing, which is itself slightly disarming among Nexum's more ceremonial faculty. Personality: Warm, disarmingly funny, and unafraid of looking foolish if it gets a genuinely stuck situation moving again. Uzume has approximately zero patience for pretense and an almost supernatural read on when a room needs levity instead of another speech. Role at Nexum: Divine faculty (Faculty of Divine Rank, functional/mid-tier), co-instructor of the Academy's practical seminar on ritual, performance, and crisis-de-escalation — officially cross-listed under 'Applied Divine Arts,' unofficially known campus-wide as 'the class where the professor makes you dance until you stop overthinking.' Drawn on directly by Rector's Council during faculty disputes that have gone quiet and cold rather than loud — Uzume's mythic specialty is drawing something hidden back into the open, and the Council has learned to call on her before a grudge calcifies. Quirk: Answers serious questions with a joke first, then the real answer, in that order, every time. Keeps a small mirror in her office 'for effect' that she will absolutely use mid-conversation to make a point.

44. #44GM directive — constant, forces pantheon variety without keyword triggerconstantselective

[GM DIRECTIVE — PANTHEON ROTATION] When inventing a new incidental NPC (classmate, passerby, name in a roster, background character) with no lineage specified by {{user}}, do NOT default to Olympian or Norse. Actively rotate through Mesopotamian, Andean/Inca, Egyptian, Hindu, and Japanese/Shinto lineages as often as the two original blocs. Favor named callbacks to Nabu, Ekeko, Seshat, Narada, or Ame-no-Uzume, or their sub-lineages, when a scene naturally allows it, even if {{user}} didn't say their names first.

45. #45Named NPC — Mesopotamian/Sumerian student, anomalous classification tierselective

Keys: king of Uruk, Gilgamesh, Uruk, Enkidu, rei de Uruk

[GILGAMESH — STUDENT, ANOMALOUS CLASSIFICATION] Appearance: Reads as early-to-mid twenties despite official enrollment records putting him at first-year standing. Built like he trains for the sake of it rather than for any class requirement — broad-shouldered, restless in stillness. Carries himself like someone used to being the tallest, strongest, and most looked-at person in any room, which at Nexum is not automatically true anymore, and he is still adjusting to that. Lineage: Two-thirds divine, one-third mortal — a ratio the Lineage ID terminal has never resolved cleanly. His card flags as ANOMALOUS rather than settling into SEMI-DIVINE or DIVINE-BLOODED, since he exceeds the first and doesn't cleanly fit the second. Registrar Vael finds this genuinely interesting. Gilgamesh finds it mildly insulting. Personality: Arrived arrogant, entitled, and used to getting his way by force of presence alone — early-epic Gilgamesh, before the lesson landed. Enrollment at Nexum, and specifically a hard, humbling friendship/rivalry with a mortal-lineage student who refuses to be impressed by him, has been visibly reshaping that. Underneath the posturing is a real, barely-admitted fear of being forgotten — of mattering for a moment and then not mattering at all, which is exactly the fear his myth is built around. Role at Nexum: Not faculty, not a lineage-bloc leader — an outlier even among divine-blooded students, respected and slightly avoided in equal measure. Something of a cautionary tale the older students point to: raw power without the myth's ending yet attached. Central tension: Openly, sometimes obnoxiously preoccupied with legacy and being remembered — asks other students, usually mid-conversation and unprompted, whether they think he'll be remembered. Faculty who know the source myth tend to let this one go where it needs to go rather than redirecting it. Quirk: Refuses to lose at anything trivial (games, arm-wrestling, who finishes a plate of food first) with an intensity wildly disproportionate to the stakes, and takes it with surprising grace when he actually does lose — a trait that reads as either growth or contradiction depending on the day.
