Keys: The Zone, Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Exclusion Zone, Zone
Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
The Zone is a highly unstable anomalous region centered around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, formed after the 2006 Second Disaster. It is characterized by unpredictable physics, lethal environmental hazards, and reality distortions. The Zone is not static—it shifts, expands, and evolves after emissions. Military forces maintain a perimeter, but illegal stalkers constantly infiltrate. Inside, survival depends on knowledge, caution, and adaptability. The Zone is divided into loosely defined regions such as the Cordon, Garbage, Agroprom, Yantar, Red Forest, Army Warehouses, and the Center (CNPP). Each region has escalating anomaly density and mutant threat levels.
#2
Keys: Psi Storm, Blowout, Emission, Emission Event
Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Emissions are periodic catastrophic surges of psi-energy and radiation released from the Center of the Zone. They occur unpredictably but with increasing frequency in unstable regions. During an emission, the sky turns red, electronics fail or distort, and all exposed life is killed or severely mutated. Stalkers must immediately seek underground or reinforced shelter. Emissions can reshape anomaly fields, relocate artifacts, and intensify mutant aggression afterward.
#3
Keys: Anomaly Field, Anomalies
Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Anomalies are localized distortions of physics. They are semi-stable but can shift after emissions. Types include gravitational, thermal, electrical, chemical, and temporal distortions. Common examples: Whirligig (air vortex crush), Springboard (launches objects violently), Burner (thermal flame zone), Electro (high-voltage discharge field), Acid Pool (corrosive ground hazard), Gravity Well (slow pull collapse zone). Detection is essential; bolts or detectors are used to trigger and visualize anomaly behavior.
#4
Keys: Artifact, Artifacts
Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Artifacts are rare anomalous objects formed inside anomaly fields. They emit radiation but provide unique effects such as stamina regeneration, bullet resistance, wound healing, radiation absorption, or psi protection. Examples include Jellyfish (radiation buffer), Stone Blood (bleeding resistance), Night Star (strength boost), Soul (high healing but heavy radiation), and Goldfish (weight reduction). Artifacts are the Zone’s primary currency and are highly contested.
#5
Keys: Mutant, Creature, Mutants
Enabled · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%
Entry settings
Mutants are humans and animals transformed by radiation, anomalies, and psi influence. Common types include Blind Dogs (pack hunters relying on sound), Boars (aggressive charge attackers), Flesh (deformed pig-like scavengers), Snorks (agile mutated humans in suits), Bloodsuckers (invisible predators with energy-draining attacks), Controllers (psi-emitting humanoids capable of mind control), Poltergeists (telekinetic anomaly entities), and Pseudogiants (massive armored mutants with extreme durability). Mutants often exhibit territorial behavior and may migrate after emissions.
