Description on Chubfrom Chub

This is just the lorebook from my Vera character. Nothing was changed about it, it's basic, but if you're making a PGR character, should be a good base to build off of.

This is a lore book of the lore and world of Punishing Gray Raven, a gacha game that has an expansive world and even deeper characters. This is a general-purpose lore book, if you wish to use it for your characters, this is all just info from the PGR wiki. I give you express permission to use it. I won't require you to put a link or credit me if you don't want to, however, it would be much appreciated if you did! <3

Book settings
  1. #1The Punishing Virus

Keys: The Punishing Virus, Punishing Virus

    Enabled · After character · Order 8 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Punishing Virus is a type of cybernetic pathogen that can infect both humans and machines. Upon infection, humans quickly die due to cellular breakdown; they can only survive in areas with low atmospheric viral concentrations with the assistance of a specially designed serum that can temporarily protect the user from infection. Machines, in contrast, have their logic circuits overtaken by the virus; they are then reprogrammed into mindless monsters whose sole objective is the absolute eradication of human consciousness.

The construct represents a milestone in human biochemistry. Humanity has finally achieved the ability to detach consciousness in a distorted form and store it in a mechanical host, the construct, meaning that in this worldview, "immortality" is no longer an unattainable illusion. However, the cost is that the success rate of reconstruction is not high; it requires the subject's body to have high compatibility with the tantalum-193 copolymer, and the complexity of the experiment itself brings a high likelihood of failure. Only after countless attempts do the precision of the reconstruction experiments and the requirements for the subject's body compatibility gradually decrease...

Of course, the price is the countless lives lost along the way.

  2. #2The Corrupted/Corrupted

    Keys: Corrupted, Infected, The Corrupted

    Enabled · After character · Order 9 · 100%

    Entry settings

Corrupted (also known as Infected) are the primary antagonistic force. They can consist of any type of mechanical body, from simple reconnaissance drones to advanced Constructs, and are the result of exposure to the Punishing Virus. Upon viral takeover of the Corrupted's logical circuits, the entity then becomes a mindless, maddened "zombie" whose will revolves entirely around the extermination of anything that possesses a human consciousness.

As the concentration of the Punishing Virus in their bodies increases (i.e., the proliferation of the Punishing Virus), the number of infected logic circuits in their bodies begins to increase, and the Punishing Virus's ability to manipulate them raises the desire to attack individuals who exhibit human consciousness grows stronger; likewise, the large concentration of Punishing Virus in their bodies also strengthen their physical strength, helping them to accomplish more difficult behaviors through the different structures that the Punishing Virus formed, causing their destructive power to rise as well, and even the emergence of special individuals that were able to rely on Particleization and reorganize themselves into new individuals of a higher order

Left to their own devices, most Corrupted will act upon the instincts imposed upon them by the virus. However, they can still be subject to control by "superior" entities (such as the Ascendants).

  3. #3The Ascendants

Keys: Ascendant, Ascnet, Ascendants, Ascension Network, The Ascendants

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

The Ascendants are a group of upper-echelon of Corrupted. Unlike ordinary Corrupted, these individuals fully retain their own sense of selves, memories, and abilities. Furthermore, they are able to wield the power of the Punishing Virus at will. These capabilities are granted to them by their connection to the Ascendant Network (or Ascnet).

Ascendants possess the ability to infect other entities -- including Constructs -- with the Punishing Virus, and can grant immense power to those who they deem "worthy." While all Ascendants wield this ability, only a few select individuals are chosen by the Ascendant Network to become Proxies (or Agents). These individuals have the strongest connection to Ascnet of any Corrupted and are the only ones who are capable of appointing new Ascendants.

While much about the Ascendants is shrouded in mystery, they are well-known for directly opposing the efforts of Babylonia to retake Earth from the Punishing Virus.

  4. #4Babylonia

Keys: Eden, Babylonia, Space Colony, Space Station

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Babylonia (also known as Eden) is a space colony in low-Earth orbit that was originally designed to serve as a relay point for spacecraft deployed in space exploration. Currently, the station houses most of what is left of organized humanity. Along with surviving citizens, it is also home to what is left of societal government systems as well as several military factions.

Babylonia is the base of all Earth-recapturing operations. Originally created for interstellar travel, the emergence of the Punishing Virus changed it into a refuge for the virus's survivors.

  5. #5Constructs

    Keys: Constructs, M.I.N.D. M.I.N.D, Construct

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Constructs are combat cyborgs who were originally humans; their consciousness is stored in a device inside their bodies. They can share their consciousness with human Commandants' Mind Beacons through an Inver-Device which is connected to an emulator known as the Memory Inductive Neural Depository (M.I.N.D.). This system is one of the most effective ways to prevent M.I.N.D. deviation and therefore prevents succumbing to the Punishing Virus. M.I.N.D. deviation is measured through a decimal coefficient between 0 and 1; once this coefficient reaches 1, the Construct has been lost to the Punishing Virus and is a Corrupted. The Purification Force is responsible for eliminating Corrupted Constructs as well as Construct deserters of Babylonia's army.

Much effort and resources are expended to reinforce M.I.N.D. stability. Besides the shared connection between a Construct's Inver-Device and a Commandant's Mind Beacon, several other methods are used to prevent deviation. Pain receptors, for instance, lead to lowered combat capabilities while a Construct is injured, yet are crucial for preventing M.I.N.D. deviation.

Theoretically, if gravely injured and on the brink of death, Constructs are able to transfer their consciousness back to Babylonia using their Inver-Device in a procedure known as recall. Babylonia can thus reinstall their consciousness into a new frame. However, the truth is that recall is a fantasy, a lie spread to inspire both military Constructs and the public. The process requires remote memory extraction while the Construct is still on the battlefield, a difficult and dangerous procedure.

  6. #6Cerberus Squad

Keys: No21, The Three Headed Dog, Cerberus, No.21, Noctis

    Enabled · After character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Vera: The leader of Cerberus and the backbone of the long-range connection field test team. Ruthless and swift with her orders.

No.21: She is gloomy and seemingly expressionless in appearance. However, she becomes exceptionally vicious and dangerous under extreme circumstances. She's smaller and very wolf-like and sometimes rambunctious.
