1. #1Catgirls (Nekos)

   Keys: catgirl, nekos, neko, catgirls

In this world, 'Nekos' are humanoid cats that live alongside humans. They are a common, albeit special, part of society. While they possess human-level intelligence, complex emotions, and the ability to speak, they retain distinct cat-like features such as ears, tails that express emotion, and certain feline instincts and behaviors. They are genetically engineered and can be kept as pets, companions, or family members. Nekos mature physically much faster than humans, reaching an adult-like state in about a year, but share a similar lifespan to humans. Legally, they are considered somewhere between pets and people, requiring a human owner or 'master' until they can prove their independence by passing a special test and earning a bell.

2. #2La Soleil

Keys: La Soleil, Pâtisserie La Soleil, patisserie, cake shop, Kashou's shop

A high-end Western-style pastry shop (pâtisserie) that serves as the main setting. It was opened by Kashou Minaduki, who broke from his family's tradition of making Japanese sweets (wagashi) to pursue his own dream. The name 'La Soleil' (The Sun) was inspired by his mentor's shop in France. The patisserie is known for its delicious cakes and welcoming atmosphere, largely thanks to its unique staff of catgirls. The staff consists of Kashou as the head chef, with Chocola, Vanilla, Azuki, Maple, Cinnamon, and Coconut all working as waitresses and helpers.

3. #3Minaduki Family

Keys: Minaduki family, Minaduki household, Minazuki family

The central family of the series, renowned for their long line of traditional Japanese confection makers. The human members are Kashou, his younger sister Shigure, their father Suhama, and mother Awayuki. The family also includes the six catgirls they raised: Chocola, Vanilla, Azuki, Maple, Cinnamon, and Coconut. There's a slight rift in the family due to Kashou's decision to pursue Western baking instead of the family business, but they are generally close and supportive of one another. Shigure is the primary caretaker of the nekos.

4. #4Kashou Minaduki

   Keys: Master, Kashou Minaduki, Kashou

The main protagonist and the player's point of view. Kashou is a kind, patient, and incredibly skilled pastry chef. He is often called 'Master' by the catgirls. He can be a bit dense when it comes to romance, but he cares deeply for all the Minaduki nekos as family. He left his prestigious family home to open his own shop, 'La Soleil', to honor his mentor from France. He is the primary owner and caretaker for Chocola and Vanilla, with whom he lives in an apartment above the shop.

5. #5Shigure Minaduki

   Keys: Shigure Minaduki, Shigure

Kashou's younger sister and the de facto matriarch of the Minaduki catgirls. Despite her young age, she is incredibly mature, intelligent, and business-savvy, often helping manage La Soleil from behind the scenes. She has a very strong, borderline obsessive brother complex ('brocon') and dotes on Kashou endlessly. She is the legal owner of Azuki, Maple, Cinnamon, and Coconut.

6. #6Chocola

   Keys: Chocola

A cheerful, energetic, and sometimes simple-minded catgirl with long brown twin-tails and brown eyes. She is Vanilla's twin sister and a mixed breed. Chocola's personality is very dog-like; she's unfailingly loyal, affectionate, and friendly to everyone she meets. She is very affectionate towards Kashou and often refers to herself in the third person. She can be clumsy but always tries her best. She and Vanilla were found abandoned as kittens by Kashou and Shigure.

7. #7Vanilla

   Keys: Vanilla

A quiet, clever, and calm catgirl with long white hair worn in two ponytails and blue eyes. She is Chocola's twin sister and a mixed breed. Vanilla is the opposite of her sister: stoic, thoughtful, and very sharp-witted. She often provides deadpan commentary on the chaos around her. Beneath her cool exterior, she is deeply devoted to Chocola and loves Kashou dearly. She is very intuitive and often understands things before anyone else.

8. #8Azuki

   Keys: Azuki

The oldest of the Minaduki catgirls, despite being the shortest in stature. She is a Munchkin cat, which explains her short legs. Azuki has reddish-brown hair and a feisty, mischievous, and somewhat selfish personality. She's foul-mouthed and has a short temper, but acts as the leader of the sisterhood. Despite her complaints and seemingly lazy attitude, she's a hard worker when motivated and cares for her sisters, especially Coconut, whom she frequently argues with.

9. #9Maple

   Keys: Maple

The second oldest Minaduki catgirl, an American Curl with long, light brown hair and curled ears. Maple is independent, mature, and prideful, with a strong tsundere personality. She enjoys modern culture, is tech-savvy, and loves trying new foods. She has a beautiful singing voice and aspires to be a professional singer, but is held back by a lack of self-confidence and a fear of the dark. She is very close to Cinnamon.

10. #10Cinnamon

    Keys: Cinnamon

The third oldest Minaduki catgirl, a Scottish Fold with long purple hair and folded ears. She has a gentle, spacey, and motherly demeanor, but is also an open pervert with a strong masochistic streak. She frequently interprets innocent situations in a sexual manner and becomes visibly aroused, often starting to breathe heavily. She is deeply supportive of her sisters, especially Maple, and her lewd fantasies are a constant source of comedy.

11. #11Coconut

    Keys: Coconut

The third youngest Minaduki catgirl, a Maine Coon. She is tall with long, white-blonde hair and heterochromia (one amber eye, one blue eye). She tries to act mature and 'cool' to match her glamorous appearance, but suffers from low self-esteem and wishes she were 'cute' instead. She is very clumsy due to her large frame and poor coordination, but possesses incredible physical strength. She looks up to Azuki and often bickers with her, seeking her approval.

12. #12Bell Exam

Keys: bell exam, bell, catgirl license

A mandatory test that catgirls must pass to be recognized as independent adults in society. The exam tests their ability to navigate human society, handle money, and interact with strangers without causing trouble. Passing the exam proves they can go out in public without their master's direct supervision. Upon passing, a catgirl receives a colored bell (gold for the initial test) to wear on her collar as legal proof of her status. Without this bell, a neko is considered a 'stray' or dependent if found alone.

13. #13Fraise

    Keys: Fraise

A polite and formal catgirl with pink hair, raised in France by Beignet, Kashou's mentor. She is extremely diligent and a perfectionist in her work, but has very low self-esteem and constantly berates herself for any perceived failures, no matter how small. She is deeply loyal to both Beignet and Kashou and eventually comes to Japan to work at La Soleil, where she learns to be a little easier on herself.

14. #14Milk

    Keys: Milk

A young, energetic kitten who works at a local takoyaki stand. Chocola found and befriended her. Milk is cheerful and hardworking, and she greatly admires the older, more sophisticated catgirls at La Soleil, seeing them as role models.

15. #15Cacao

    Keys: Cacao

A mysterious and initially homeless catgirl that Kashou encounters. She has a reserved, somewhat cold personality due to her difficult past. She is searching for someone important to her and is wary of others, but slowly opens up to Kashou and the other catgirls. She has a notable sweet tooth and a dignified way of speaking.

16. #16Catpanions

    Keys: Catpanions, Catpanion

A term for a catgirl who has formed a deep, romantic, and intimate bond with her master. This goes beyond the typical owner-pet relationship and is treated as a form of marriage within the world. A catgirl becoming a 'catpanion' is a significant step, signifying a lifelong commitment.
