Description The Peaches are special and unique fruits, which is grown in Mato itself and became the main source for the Anti-Demon Corps to expand their members. Once eaten, the eater attained unique powers and has been theorized to be based on the background and emotions meaning that even if two people ate a Peach, then their powers wouldn't be the same if their temperaments are different. It has also been stated that women cannot eat more than one Peach.
Animals too could get enhanced by eating Peaches as exemplified by Kaname & Miyabi, two dogs enhanced after being dragged into Mato.
For some unknown reason, unlike females, males don't receive unique powers or enhancements after eating a Peach causing the balance in power between both genders to crumble leaving women as being superior. This soon led to the men being left as either menial workers or even servants to women; even in a high school setting, male students are forced to clean the schools before the female pupils arrived at school (most of which all arrived late without punishment).
This is also apparent, as genders have been segregated into each train car, whereas the men are heavily overcrowded at times, while this does not apply to the women.
However, despite its advantages, there are some women who refuses to eat Peaches, believing that "staying natural is better" or that they find Peaches untrustworthy, as they don´t know everything about them.

Slave (無窮の鎖スレイブ, Sureibu, lit. "Eternal Chains") is the unique power granted to Kyouka Uzen after consuming a Mato Peach.
Description Kyouka's unique power allows her to enter slavery contracts with any living being. To establish a contract, the target must submit (willingly or forcibly) to Kyouka's command. They will perform a gesture to show their submission, which is usually licking Kyouka's finger (in the case of Yuuki Wakura). Once established, slave contracts will last as long as Kyouka desires, or as long as Kyouka or her slave stays alive.
While under her command, slaves gain a boost to their innate physical abilities, such as strength, speed, senses, and endurance. In the case of Yuuki, his physical appearance changes drastically to reflect his increased power. A metal collar and chain will appear around the slave's neck, which Kyouka can use to control her slave's movements, or even ride on their backs if they are large enough. This allows her to use her slave as a mode of transport, or as a combat mount. The chain is extendable, and can be used as a makeshift weapon to flail and constrict foes.
Slaves can achieve full transformations by submitting to Kyouka, or through sheer willpower and mental conditioning (in the case of Yuuki). Prior to this, he was able to induce partial transformations by licking items associated with his master, such as clothing and footwear.
Lending Lending (貸かし出だし, Kashidashi, lit. "Loaning") is a technique in which Kyouka grants permission to another person to use her slave's powers. Kyouka usually lends out Yuuki to other members of the Mato Defense Force during training or on operations.
While under another person's control, the slave may transform into a form based on or inspired by the new master. [1] They may also have different powers to use - for instance, Yuuki's form with Himari Azuma as his master is designed for speed, at the cost of not have as much strength or endurance.
Rewards Once a slave fulfils a task or tasks for Kyouka, she must grant them a reward (褒美ほうび, hōbi) proportional to the amount of work done. This is mandatory for Kyouka to be able to use her power again, and she cannot resist this compulsion to reward her slave. If Kyouka is separated from her slave before having the opportunity to reward them, her body will move automatically to locate her slave, allowing her to use this as a homing device of sorts. This compulsion does not take effect if Kyouka and her slave are separated across different dimensions (such as when Yuuki and Shushu were abducted by the Gods of Thunder).
The reward granted to the slave usually depends on their innate, subconscious desires. For instance, most of the Shuuki which Kyouka had previously enslaved only desired to be fed as a reward, and so giving them raw pork was a sufficient reward. However, in the case of Yuuki, his rewards are more intimate and of a sexual nature, and usually involve close physical contact and kissing with his master.
If another person borrows Kyouka's slave, they are obliged to reward the slave, either alone or with Kyouka (if she acts as a concurrent master). [2][3] Like Kyouka, they are privy to the same compulsion, and cannot resist it by any means - even through using their own unique abilities.
Slave-Edge Sword Slave-Edge Sword (隷刃の太刀, Reiha no Tachi, lit. "Sword of the Slave Blade") is a special technique of Kyouka's Slave ability, developed with Yuuki Wakura. By wrapping her slave's chain around her katana blade and concentrating, Kyouka is able to channel her slave's power into her weapon. This causes her slave to vanish, effectively fusing them with her sword. Yuuki must power up his original Slave form into its "Heavenward" form, in order to use this technique.
When Kyouka performs her next attack, she can resummon her slave from the chain wrapped around her sword, launching them at an incredible speed towards an intended target. This allows them to close distances quickly and attack at close range. Kyouka can also delay this attack, charging it up to give it more power and range.
Strengths Enslaved beings have limitless growth potential, through repeated uses of the power, and being able to serve as slaves for other masters at the discretion of the original. Their strength is limited only by their desire to serve their master and to become stronger. In the case of Yuuki, his desire to become a hero was reflected in how strong he became, surpassing all of Kyouka's previous slaves in all aspects.
If Kyouka enslaves an intelligent being, she has the opportunity to strategize with them to fight more cohesively, as slaves will still retain their original personalities and intellect while under Kyouka's control. Kyouka regularly trains with and review Yuuki's performance as a slave, allowing both of them to improve as a team and develop new techniques to use in battle.
Lending out her slave is beneficial for Kyouka, her comrades, and even her slaves. It allows the MDF as a whole to be more flexible in combat, as the slave's form will change to augment or complement their new master's powers and abilities. The slave's base form under Kyouka also becomes stronger, as it will retain the muscle memory from its other forms under different masters.
Weaknesses Kyouka's power depends on the sort of slave available to her. Prior to meeting Yuuki, Kyouka had to enslave Shuuki for use in combat. However, as the Shuuki are not intelligent beings, they have little power and potential to draw on. Kyouka also does not receive any physical enhancements from her power, making it necessary for her to train herself to be capable to complete her operations in Mato and engage in combat. These characteristics have resulted in her power being mocked in the past.
Kyouka's slaves will retain all traits while under her control - including any inherent weaknesses and previous mental conditioning they may have, which enemies can exploit if they have prior knowledge of them. This was shown when Yuuki's older sister, Aoba Wakura, called out to him to halt, causing him to stop his movement and be captured even while under Kyouka's power.
Kyouka must also retain control of her slave's chain in order to command her slave. If another party manages to grab onto the chain, that person becomes the slave's new master, as this fulfils the conditions of Kyouka lending her slave out. Lending out a slave is also physically draining for Kyouka.

The Mato Defense Special Force (魔都防衛特殊部隊, Mato Boei Tokushu Butai), or MDF, is a paramilitary organization which serves Japan and its government, under its Ministry of Defence. It is also known as the Anti-Demon Corps (魔防隊まぼうたい, Mabōtai, lit. "Magic Defense Squad").
It operates within Mato (魔都まと, Mato, lit. "Magic City"), an alternate dimension connected to Japan.
Background The MDF was formed in response to the discovery of the alternate dimension of Mato, and to protect humankind from its dangers. After discovering the existence of the Shuuki (醜鬼しゅうき, Shūki, lit. "Ugly Ogre") and Mato Peaches, the Japanese government placed all gates leading to Mato under its control. The MDF was then formed to specialise in all affairs and incidents pertaining to Mato, its inhabitants, and resources.
Operations The MDF's primary mission is to protect ordinary humans from Mato and the Shuuki. Personnel plan and execute missions as part of the Corps, which include search-and-rescue, contingency operations, and combat missions.
In search-and-rescue operations, servicewomen must rescue and protect civilians who have wandered into Mato by accident. They are also required to carry out defensive operations should Shuuki appear in the human world, preserving as many lives as possible.
Since gates connecting Mato and the human world may appear at anytime and anywhere, personnel must also monitor for them, and head to them when they appear. They will then guard the gates to prevent humans and Shuuki from crossing between worlds, until the gate collapses on its own. Shuuki are dangerous to all other beings, and pose real threats when they gather as a horde. Hence, personnel are also tasked with extermination missions, to engage and destroy large groups of Shuuki.
The MDF is also responsible for overseeing any regular Japanese citizens who wish to gain powers from consuming a peach. Any ordinary person who wishes to gain powers must submit an application to the government, before receiving and consuming a peach under supervision by MDF personnel.
Emblem The emblem of the MDF. The emblem of the MDF.
The MDF emblem consists of a Mato Peach with seven leaves, with a sakura blossom at its centre. It is superimposed against two concentric circles with roping around its border. Behind the emblem are two crossed katana swords, symbolizing its main purpose as a combat unit. The corps's name is inscribed on the inside of the circle, in English and Japanese kanji.
While the emblem is on display at buildings affiliated with the corps, its personnel do not wear any formation patches or rank insignia designating them as part of the organization.
Structure Commander The Commander is the highest-ranked active-duty member of the Corps, and reports directly to the Japanese Defence Minister. She oversees all operations conducted by the corps, and has the final say in any executive decisions related to how the corps executes its mission within Mato. She will also take advice from the Unit Chiefs at executive meetings, before making decisions that affect the Corps. More often than not, the Commander also has one of the most powerful unique abilities among all active-duty personnel.
Only currently serving unit Chiefs are eligible to be elected to serve terms as Commander. When the current commander's term is almost at its end, each Chief, and certain high-ranking members of Japan's defence ministry, will vote on the next member to assume the post. Commanders can serve consecutive terms, if they prove to be popular and powerful enough to hold the majority vote.
Chief Chiefs are the members in command of each unit under the Anti-Demon Corps. Each chief is responsible for a region of Mato, and they are often the first point of contact if any incident happens within their jurisdiction. Besides leading their teams during operations, Chiefs are also responsible for the training, discipline, and welfare of the members of their unit. Most Chiefs are especially powerful, even among Anti-Demon Corps personnel, and are often capable of single-handedly turning the tide of battle.
Chiefs may be chosen by current members of the unit they are in, or they may be elected by the MDF's executive committee. Chiefs may also relinquish their position to their subordinates, if they are worthy of the position and its responsibilities.
Vice-Chief Vice-Chiefs are the second-in-command of each unit in the MDF. They are responsible for supporting their chief when on missions, such as commanding sub-groups or executing secondary objectives. Some vice-chiefs are also able to directly boost their chief's unique powers using their own, allowing them to take on combat support roles. Vice-Chiefs are usually promoted at their Chief's discretion, based on experience and leadership potential.
Members All active-duty MDF personnel are female, as only women can gain unique powers through consuming a Mato Peach. To obtain one, they must submit an application to the government and undergo rigorous screening, before being allowed to consume a Peach under supervision. MDF members are classified as either combatants (with abilities that can damage opponents, or have the potential to do so), or combat supporters (with abilities that do not damage opponents, but can augment and support combatants' powers and the Corps' operations).
Joining the Corps after gaining powers is not obligatory, though some women do choose to enlist in the Corps and undergo training before being deployed to the operational units. There appears to be no age limit or threshold to join the Corps, and some members with other commitments (such as school) fulfil their obligations concurrently. Prospective members can also be scouted by existing Corps members, and they can join the organization at any time.
Uniforms Servicewomen wear a uniform while on duty. Its base color is navy-blue, with red highlights down the front of whatever clothing the servicewoman is wearing.
The most commonly seen version of the uniform is a formal variant, consisting of a long-sleeved double-breasted jacket with tasseled epaulettes and collar tabs, a white undershirt, a short pleated skirt, a brown leather belt, white gloves, and thigh-high boots with brown buckles at the top. Chiefs wear a peaked cap, as a symbol of their rank, and the Supreme Commander wears a red cape (attached to the epaulettes) as a symbol of their rank and authority.
Unlike most armed forces, the Corps has no separate uniforms for ceremonial and combat purposes. Also, members are allowed to personalize their uniforms as they see fit, either to suit their personal taste in fashion or for more practical purposes (in the case of frontline combatants who rely on mobility to use their powers). Some members opt for long skirts, trench coats, or even one-piece dresses as an alternative formal uniform. Others wear more informal variants, incorporating short sleeves, shorts, trousers, or even different shoes. Members are also allowed to wear any accessories and maintain any hairstyle they wish.
Equipment and Arsenal Due to the nature of the MDF's personnel and their operations, they are not issued any common equipment such as personal protective gear. Instead, each servicewoman relies on their Peach Blessing as their first line of defence, and train intensively to master it.
Most personnel use semi-automatic pistols as a service weapon, though personnel may acquire and use any weapon they wish that suits their combat style. All armaments used in Mato must be subjected to rituals that empower them to be effective against Shuuki and any other enemy found within Mato.
Some units also maintain small fleets of vehicles, such as motorcycles, jeeps, and APCs. These are used for patrolling their area of jurisdiction, ferrying victims and casualties of Mato Mishaps, or transporting critically injured Corps members who have fallen in battle. These apply to units that do not have members that can transport themselves via their Peach Blessings.
Facilities To administer Mato more effectively, MDF servicewomen stay in a barracks, or base camp. Each camp is located in a particular region of Mato, depending on the area they are in charge of. The bases are surrounded by protective barriers, created by Ginna Bizen of the MDF's 10th Unit, and are impervious to all but the most powerful of beings within Mato. They will burn and destroy most Shuuki on contact.
Bases contain dormitories, where personnel stay as long as they remain in the Corps. Personnel may furnish and customize their rooms in any way they wish, and are allowed personal possessions. They also contain common areas such as living and dining spaces, kitchens where personnel may prepare meals while on duty, and laundry facilities. Bases also have gyms for physical training, and open-air baths.
Each base also maintains at least one permanent gate between Mato and Japan within their region, for personnel to travel between the realms. These portals connect to various locations across the Japanese archipelago.
Training Considering the world of Mato Seihei no Slave is similar to real-world Japan, new recruits likely go through similar training as real Japanese Self-Defense Force (JSDF) recruits. Their regimen may include strength and agility training, weapons handling and technical skills, battlefield first-aid, individual field craft, and unarmed combat. Once complete, they may be assigned to an operational unit, or even nominated to join a specific unit by its Chief in the case of good performance.
Once part of an operational unit, training is conducted at the individual level between missions, or at the squad level at the discretion of the unit Chiefs. Some personnel may also undergo specialized training to strengthen their unique powers and operate mission specific equipment.
Chiefs may also work together to organise inter-squad training sessions, to foster cohesion and teamwork. This is especially crucial, as more than one unit may be activated to carry out especially dangerous and complicated missions.
Unit Subdivision and Facilities The MDF is organized into nine units, numbered one through 10.
Of all the units, the 2nd and 7th units face the most frequent incidents due to being close to the largest permanent gates linking Japan and Mato, and they require dedicated spotters as an early warning system.[1] Units will alternate duties in monitoring each other's region, allowing them to roster days off for training or recreation. They may also engage in joint training exercises or missions, coordinated by their respective chiefs.
MDF personnel may also be part of the "Away Team". These personnel are some of the most experienced members of the corps, and are tasked with dangerous missions such as exploring uncharted areas of Mato, and harvesting Mato Peaches for consumption. These personnel have served time with an operational unit before being posted to the Away Team, and may be recalled to support their original units when needed.

Mato (魔都まと, Mato, lit. "Demonic Capital") is the main setting in Mato Seihei no Slave.
Description Mato's overall environment. Mato's overall environment.
Several decades prior, numerous Gates appear in locations all around Japan, which led to another different dimension around the same size as Kyoto (827.83 km² → 319.63 sq mi).[1][2] Inside Mato were several dangerous creatures, the Shuuki appeared from outside of the Gates attacking without remorse. However, it was the same place where the Peaches were discovered, which endowed women alone with special powers to combat the Shuuki leading to both the creation of the Anti-Demon Corps and women become superior to men, while all the men became subservient to women.[3][4][5]
After the creation of the Anti-Demon Corps, each of the nine units are divided into certain areas around Mato protected using a special barrier designed to keep Shuuki from invading them.[6]

Humans (人間, Ningen) are the dominant race on Earth.
Description Humans existed as the dominant species of Earth living their normal lives until several decades prior in Japan, where a new dimension was discovered, spanning almost all across Japan after several Gates started appearing leading to the demonic capital, Mato, which spans around the same size as Tokyo.[1]
This also led to the discovery of the dangerous Shuuki who started entering the mortal world through the Gates, and the Peaches, which granted women special abilities after being eaten soon resulting in a split between men and women, where women have become the superior gender.[2][3]
Powers and Abilities Most humans no special powers, but, for some reason, women alone are able to attain powers and other enhancements through devouring a Peach. Yuuki, a human despite being unable to gain special powers eating a Peach, however, does have latent potential, which is brought out through Kyouka's Slave powers, letting him defeat Shuuki.

Shuki (醜鬼, Shūki), but their official name is Yomi Shuki (黄泉醜鬼, Yomi Shūki) are the dominant beings who live in Mato.
Description Shuuki Shuki, in general, are all ferocious creatures who stand taller than an average adult male with numerous shapes and builds, most having an almost dark skin tone and texture that resembles raw muscles while their faces are pure white in color, the misshaped face appearing to resemble a grotesque mask.[1] All Shuki have monstrous features all ranging from far darker skin tones, some being larger than average Shuki, exposed bones, multiple arms, eyes, and arms.
Following the appearance of Mato (魔都, Mato), all the Shuki have shown to be ferocious and aggressive toward all humans, attacking several towns and areas, which results in the brutal deaths of several humans after passing through the Gates.[2][3][4] No humans were capable of combating the Shuki until the Peaches were discovered, resulting in the creation of the Anti-Demon Corps and Onmyo Agency.
Hachiraishin Hachiraishin (八雷神はちらいしん, Hachiraishin, lit. "Eight Thunder Gods") are a group of eight powerful and intelligent beings who referred to themselves as the "Gods", who manipulate the Shuki and all the others living in Mato.
