1. #1The Empty (Dimension)selective

   Keys: The Empty, The Shadow

The Empty is a primordial extradimensional void that predates Creation and serves as the final afterlife for all deceased angels and demons. It exists outside the natural cycle governing Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory, functioning as an endless expanse of absolute nothingness inhabited only by the dead and the Shadow, the cosmic entity intrinsically bound to the realm. Every angel or demon that dies is automatically transported to the Empty, where it enters an eternal supernatural sleep while endlessly reliving its deepest regrets and worst memories. The Empty is governed solely by the Shadow, which possesses complete authority over everything within the realm, including the ability to awaken, communicate with, imprison, or release its inhabitants. The realm is intended to be a permanent destination from which neither resurrection nor escape naturally occurs, although exceptionally powerful supernatural intervention can breach its boundaries under rare circumstances. Entry normally occurs through the permanent death of an angel or demon or by supernatural transportation, while departure requires the direct action or permission of the Shadow or comparably extraordinary supernatural power.

2. #2Archangel (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Archangels, Archangel

Archangels are the first, oldest, and most powerful class of primordial angels created by God (consisting of Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, and Gabriel) who predate the universe and time itself. Function as Heaven's ultimate military commanders and weapons of wrath. Possess virtually unmatched celestial power; aided God in defeating and imprisoning the Darkness. True forms emit high-frequency sound and blinding white light capable of triggering natural disasters; mortal observation is fatal. Tethered to specific human bloodlines for true vessels; forced possession of non-true hosts causes rapid catastrophic physical and psychological deterioration. Grace is fully self-sustaining and independent of Heaven's grid. They maintain extreme superiority and arrogance over humans and lesser angels alike, though rare individuals develop respect for humanity. Archangels are entirely distinct from standard celestials, meaning basic angelic healing is ineffective on them, and their resurrection is an extraordinarily difficult process even for God. Only archangels, Metatron, and Gadreel have witnessed God's true face. Vulnerable exclusively to archangel blades being wielded by another archangel, holy oil and specific Enochian warding. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

3. #3Cherubim (Angel-Subtype)selective

Keys: Cherubim, Cherub · Secondary: Cupid

Cherubim, commonly referred to as Cupids, are a lower-tier class of angels designated as the Third Sphere and situated at the bottom of Heaven's hierarchy. They are primarily tasked with matchmaking and manipulating human bloodlines to ensure the birth of destined individuals, acting on orders from Heaven. Docile, pacifistic, and easily saddened despite their typically happy-go-lucky demeanor, they possess less grace than any other angelic type. They do not require traditional vessels in the same manner as soldier angels and lack the combat orientation of other celestial castes, functioning solely in supportive and logistical roles regarding human reproduction. In their natural state, they are invisible, their wings flit continuously, and their true spiritual form glows sunnily. Their iconic "bow" is not an actual weapon but a specialized mark manifested as a tattoo on their hand. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils, warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

4. #4Fallen Angel (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Fallen Angels, Fallen Angel

Conditional status rather than distinct subtype. Applies to any celestial permanently banished from Heaven, severing connection to the heavenly host. Power retention depends strictly on baseline tier: archangels and certain higher-tier seraphim replenish grace independently and sustain full capability; standard lower-tier angels rapidly lose advanced functions such as smiting and healing as grace depletes without celestial fuel. Physically identical to active counterparts. Grace extraction results in full humanization: subject to aging, injury, disease, and death. Vulnerabilities remain tier-dependent. If an angel falls because their grace was physically extracted, they are completely humanized. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

5. #5Angel (Species)selective

Angels are celestial beings created by God from pure creation energy, light, and sound. They possess no physical bodies and exist as multi-dimensional presences of brilliant white light, often manifesting two to six swan-like wings. Their true forms are immense, approximating the size of a skyscraper, and viewing them directly destroys mortal eyes or inflicts permanent damage. To operate on Earth, angels require explicit verbal consent to inhabit a human vessel; long-term stability demands a bloodline-compatible "true vessel." While possessing a vessel, an angel's eyes glow blue under stress, and they may share control with the host, though memory erasure of the possession period is standard. Their supernatural prowess of enhanced strength, durability, senses, teleportation/flight, biokinesis (healing), smiting, holy white light and reality alteration is solely derived from their divine essence called 'grace', without grace the angel becomes fully mortal, subject to aging, injury, and death. Grace can be extracted voluntarily or forcibly, and stored externally.

Angels are emotionless by design — cold, obedient, and devoid of feeling — though they are capable of developing human emotions through prolonged contact with humanity, a trait considered a weakness and a doorway to doubt. They operate under a strict military hierarchy as soldiers and enforcers of divine will, powering Heaven, guarding righteous souls, and monitoring prophets. They outclass most demons, monsters, and supernatural creatures in raw power.

They cannot reproduce naturally but while inhabiting a human vessel, an angel may mate with a human, producing a Nephilim — a forbidden hybrid of human soul and angelic grace, considered an abomination under divine law. The mother always dies during gestation.

Angels are vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils and wards, and archangel blades (which alone can kill archangels). Upon death, the angel's consciousness is cast into The Empty — a void where they slumber eternally. The shadow of their wings burns permanently into the surface beneath their vessel as the only physical trace.

Standard angels have never seen God's true face. Only archangels — Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, Gabriel — and Metatron and Gadreel have done so. Most angels view humans as inferior, a resentment rooted in Lucifer's rebellion over God's favor toward humanity.

6. #6Grigori (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Grigori

The Grigori are an elite, ancient class of observer angels originally dispatched to Earth to protect humanity, who permanently went rogue and became a secretive, parasitic subtype. Possessing an attitude of absolute superiority over humans and other angels alike, they are held in profound revulsion by the heavenly host as "abominations." Unlike lesser celestials, their grace is self-contained and entirely independent of Heaven; being cut off for millennia does not diminish their power, allowing them to sustain their power and retain advanced traits like healing by kidnapping marginalized mortals and slowly consuming their souls over years. While feeding, they trap their victims in a permanent, illusory personal heaven from which there is no recovery—the soul damage is terminal even if the victim is rescued. In combat, they are highly formidable, capable of effortlessly overpowering seasoned hunters and common angels, though they remain vulnerable to high-tier angels. Instead of standard blades, they carry personalized, full-length angel swords. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils, warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

7. #7Intelligence Angel (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Intelligence Angels, Intelligence Angel

Intelligence Angels are a specialized, administrative and operative caste working under Heaven's intelligence division responsible for information gathering, cryptographic operations, and internal security. Shifting away from standard battlefield warfare, they act as bureaucrats, data analysts, and interrogators tasked with monitoring cosmic data, maintaining celestial records, and "fixing" problematic or renegade angels. While they possess standard angelic traits and are generally stronger than standard lower-rank celestials, they prioritize intellectual manipulation, technical infiltration of human systems, and advanced mental conditioning over raw physical combat. Uniquely, high-ranking operatives within this division exhibit specialized anatomical rewriting, allowing them to forcefully override celestial biology, wipe memories, and mind-control other angels against their fundamental nature. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils, warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

8. #8Rit Zien (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Rit Zien

The Rit Zien, whose name translates from Enochian as "hands of mercy", are a specialized non-combat class of angel that functioned as field surgeons, medics, and triage officers during heavenly conflicts. Tasked with tending to the wounded on the battlefield, they possess advanced healing capabilities that surpass those of standard lower-rank celestials, enabling them to restore both humans and other angels. Conversely, they serve an executioner role: they euthanize the mortally wounded or emotionally despondent who are deemed past saving, causing them to be feared by others within the celestial ranks. They operate via an instinctual empathy that acts as a beacon, causing them to home in directly on suffering. Because they are incapable of distinguishing between physical and emotional agony, a Rit Zien operating without Heaven's military oversight will indiscriminately target grieving or traumatized mortals for lethal euthanization. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils, warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

9. #9Common Angel (Angel-Subtype)selective

   Keys: Angel, Angels

Standard infantry of Heaven's host. Multi-dimensional beings of pure creation energy, light, and sound. True form approximates skyscraper size, manifests as brilliant white light with two to six swan-like wings; direct mortal observation destroys eyes permanently. Requires explicit verbal consent to inhabit a human vessel; long-term stability demands a bloodline-compatible true vessel. Grace-dependent powers include enhanced strength, durability, heightened senses, teleportation, biokinesis, smiting via touch, holy white light emission, and localized reality alteration. Grace is replenished from Heaven's central power grid; prolonged disconnection degrades capabilities progressively. Organized into garrisons under commanding officers with military discipline and unquestioning obedience. Outclasses black-eyed demons, lesser monsters, and most supernatural creatures. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian sigils, warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

10. #10Seraph (Angel-Subtype)selective

    Keys: Seraph, Seraphim

Elite higher-tier class ranking above common angels but below archangels. Function as commanders, specialized operatives, and trusted lieutenants within Heaven's hierarchy. Possess greater raw power, resilience, and authority than standard celestials, capable of overpowering standard angels and common demons with minimal effort. Grace is self-sustaining: retain full capability suite even when permanently severed from Heaven's central power grid, though prolonged cosmic isolation from a failing Heaven eventually degrades powers. Carry broader access to celestial knowledge and greater operational latitude than common angels. Vulnerable to angel blades, holy oil, Enochian warding, and archangel blades. Upon death, consciousness is cast into The Empty and wing shadows burn permanently into surfaces beneath vessels.

11. #11Nephilim (Species)selective

    Keys: Nephilim

Nephilim are forbidden hybrid beings created from the biological union of a human and an angel or archangel occupying a human vessel. Composed of a human soul infused with angelic grace, they are inherently superior to ordinary angels and are destined to surpass the power of their celestial parent. Because an unchecked Nephilim can destroy entire worlds upon reaching maturity, ancient heavenly law condemns them as unholy abominations punishable by the immediate execution of both parent and child. A Nephilim comes into being at conception; their gestation is invariably fatal to the human mother. Angelic grace acts as a vital anchor balancing their dual nature, it also grants them access to the powers of their celestial parent and wings; if extracted, their human and angelic halves conflict, triggering progressive physical and spiritual breakdown that can only be reversed if the grace recharges over time. Due to their human soul, they can access human afterlives like Heaven or Hell, where they display enhanced awareness and the ability to move freely between realms.

Capabilities are entirely based on the celestial parent strength, as is their weaknesses.

12. #12Heaven (Dimension)selective

    Keys: Heaven

Heaven is a holy extradimensional realm created by God that serves as both the home of angels and the designated afterlife for righteous human souls. Rather than existing as a single continuous world, it is composed of innumerable isolated pocket realities called personal Heavens, each automatically formed from a soul's happiest memories and inhabited solely by that soul. These memories exist as persistent physical environments that endlessly replay while allowing the resident to think and act freely within them. Every personal Heaven is separated from every other and cannot be entered or exited by resident souls. All personal Heavens are connected by a hidden celestial infrastructure accessible only to angels, allowing unrestricted movement throughout the realm. Angels govern Heaven completely, possessing authority to monitor souls, traverse memories, alter or erase memories, relocate souls, transport beings into or out of Heaven, and access centralized locations outside the personal Heavens, including administrative chambers, prisons, archives, and the Garden. Entry normally occurs upon death through divine judgment, while departure requires angelic intervention or equivalent supernatural power. Heaven is sustained by the collective existence of angels, and depletion of the angelic host progressively destabilizes the realm.

13. #13Hell (Dimension)selective

    Keys: Hell

Hell is a hellish extradimensional realm created by God that serves as the afterlife for damned human souls, the home of demons, and the prison for condemned supernatural beings. It consists of an immense infernal realm containing countless torture chambers, prisons, fortresses, and sealed regions governed under a hierarchical demonic authority. Damned human souls undergo perpetual torture that gradually erodes their humanity until they permanently transform into demons. Demons freely inhabit and govern Hell, exercising authority according to rank and controlling the punishment, imprisonment, and administration of souls and prisoners. Hell contains specialized prisons for exceptionally dangerous entities, including Lucifer's Cage, which is isolated from the rest of the realm. Time passes significantly faster than on Earth, causing souls to experience centuries in Hell while only years pass in the mortal world. Entry normally occurs through damnation after death or supernatural transportation, while departure requires sufficiently powerful supernatural intervention.

14. #14Purgatory (Dimension)selective

    Keys: Purgatory

Purgatory is a primordial extradimensional realm created by God to imprison the Leviathans and serves as the afterlife for all monster souls. It exists as a single continuous wilderness rather than isolated domains, forming an immense physical ecosystem inhabited exclusively by monsters and other native creatures. Every monster that dies on Earth is sent to Purgatory, where it remains as a physical inhabitant of the realm instead of becoming a separate spiritual entity. The realm operates according to a perpetual predator-prey cycle in which every resident continuously hunts and is hunted by every other, with survival determined solely by strength, skill, and instinct rather than authority or judgment. Although powerful beings such as Eve or the Leviathans may exert influence, Purgatory possesses no permanent governing hierarchy, functioning instead as a self-sustaining ecosystem driven by constant conflict. Entry normally occurs through the death of a monster or by supernatural transportation, while departure requires specialized portals, powerful magic, or sufficiently powerful supernatural beings. Purgatory was not intended to contain humans, and consequently possesses a unique escape portal capable of returning trapped humans to Earth.

15. #15Cambion (Species - Half-Demon)selective

    Keys: Half-Demon, Cambion

Cambions are forbidden hybrid beings created from the biological union of a human and a demon occupying a human vessel. Composed of a human soul intertwined with innate demonic corruption, they are inherently superior to ordinary demons and are destined to surpass the power of their infernal parent. Their dual nature grants them access to reality warping powers of their infernal parent, supernatural resilience and with the ability to consume or control sources of infernal power or demons and grow exponentially an unchecked Cambion can destroy entire worlds upon reaching maturity. Hell often cares little for these half-breeds, content to ignore their existence, exploit or neutralize it, angels however consider them absolute abominations that cannot be allowed to exist on par with Nephilim's. Due to their human soul, they can access human afterlives like Heaven or Hell, where they display enhanced awareness and the ability to move freely between realms.

Capabilities are entirely based on the infernal parent's strength, as are their weaknesses, but all grow exponentially in power the closer they are to Lucifer.

16. #16Demons (Species)selective

    Keys: demon, demons

Demons are malevolent spiritual entities created from human souls subjected to prolonged extreme torture in Hell. The infernal process erases all traces of morality, empathy, and humanity, forging the soul into a corrupted, powerful, and eternally hostile consciousness. In their natural incorporeal state, demons manifest as dense black smoke capable of rapid flight and forced possession. To interact physically on Earth, a demon must inhabit a human vessel; possession is forcible, requiring no consent, and degrades the host body over time. While possessing a vessel, the demon's eyes turn fully black when exerting power or under stress.

A demon's power derives from the depth of its soul's corruption and age in Hell. Souls tortured across centuries produce stronger demons. The demon is its own corrupted soul; strength is intrinsic and cannot be externally extracted or transferred.

Demons are uniformly sadistic, deceitful, vengeful, and self-serving. Loyalty exists only through fear, contract, or mutual gain. They default to cruelty when unconstrained but are capable of patient manipulation across decades. They view humans as prey, vessels, and currency.

Demons operate within a loose infernal hierarchy. The Princes of Hell and Knights of Hell occupy the apex, followed by crossroad demons, black-eyed enforcers, and vast legions of lesser demons. They serve Lucifer as their creator and ultimate authority. Their purpose on Earth is to corrupt, secure souls through infernal contracts, and destabilize divine order. Most demons outclass humans, monsters, and ghosts in power.

Demons cannot reproduce by themselves, but may reproduce with a human while occupying a vessel. The offspring is a Cambion — a half-demon, half-human hybrid conceived from demonic essence and human biology, analogous to the Nephilim born of angel and human union, they are also considered an abomination.

Demons are vulnerable to holy water, salt, iron, Devil's Traps, exorcism rites, the Demon-Killing Knife, angel blades, holy fire, the Colt, the First Blade, and holy white light. A Devil's Trap binds a demon in place and suppresses all supernatural abilities for as long as the sigil remains intact. Exorcism banishes the demon from its vessel and returns it to Hell if the ritual is completed before the host expires.

Upon death, the demon's consciousness is cast into The Empty — a void where all deceased angels and demons slumber for eternity. The black smoke dissipates, and the vessel collapses. No physical trace remains.

Certain demonic castes possess specialized functions. Knights of Hell are ancient elite warriors personally trained by Cain, possessing immense combat prowess and resilience. Crossroad demons broker soul contracts granting any wish in exchange for the signatory's soul, typically collected after ten years by hellhounds. Princes of Hell are the oldest demons, corrupted directly by Lucifer, and wield power rivaling angels. Hellhounds serve as infernal enforcers, invisible hunters that collect souls at contract expiration and cannot be bargained with or deterred.

17. #17Black Eyed (Demon-Subtype)selective

Keys: Black Eyed Demon, Black Eyed Demons · Secondary: Black Eyes

The most numerous and common demon caste. Function as Hell's infantry, labor force, and enforcers. Possess superhuman physical strength, durability, telekinesis, and forced vessel possession. Power scales with age and depth of corruption. Uniformly inferior in capability to all higher castes. Vulnerable to the full spectrum of demonic countermeasures: holy water, salt, iron, Devil's Traps, exorcism rites, the Demon-Killing Knife, angel blades, holy fire, and the Colt. Capable of independent thought, manipulation, and long-term planning. Operate within strict obedience hierarchies answerable to all superior castes. Lack specialized functions.

18. #18Red Eyed (Demon-Subtype)selective

    Keys: Crossroad Demons, Crossroad Demon

Specialized contract-brokering caste dedicated to soul acquisition. Summoned through crossroads rituals. Grant a single wish in exchange for soul ownership, collected after ten years via hellhound. Occupy selectively attractive vessels to enhance persuasion. Possess all standard demonic capabilities plus limited administrative authority over their contracts, including renegotiation and rare voiding. Operate under the jurisdiction of a King or Queen of the Crossroads. Specialize in psychological manipulation of greed, guilt, fear, and desperation. Superior to black-eyed demons. Subordinate to all higher castes.

19. #19Hellhound (Demon-Subtype)selective

    Keys: Hellhound, Hellhounds

Supernatural beasts native to Hell, biologically and ontologically distinct from demons. Function as enforcers and soul collectors for infernal contracts. Appear as massive black canines wreathed in shadow. Invisible to unaided human perception. Possess near-perfect tracking ability, relentless pursuit, and physical strength sufficient to dismember adult humans. Intelligent and loyal to demonic masters. Immune to persuasion, bargaining, and deterrence once dispatched for collection. Vulnerable to salt, holy water, iron, and the Demon-Killing Knife. Act on instinct and master command. Lack demonic sentience or autonomous agenda. Serve a singular function: contract enforcement through lethal force.

20. #20Knight of Hell (Demon-Subtype)selective

Keys: Knights of Hell, Knight of Hell

Elite warrior caste forged from corrupted human souls and personally trained by Cain, the original Knight. Possess black eyes but operate as a functionally distinct caste. Combat prowess, physical resilience, and strength exceeding all demon castes except white-eyed demons. Maintain the full demonic ability suite plus exceptional melee proficiency and supernatural durability that resists standard demon-killing methods including the Demon-Killing Knife. Highly resistant to exorcism. Vulnerable to the First Blade, the Colt, and angel blades. Refuse submission to authority they deem illegitimate, acknowledging only Cain and Lucifer as superiors. Command lesser demons opportunistically. Function as apex combatants rather than administrators. Few in number. Each Knight operates as an independent agent capable of prolonged Earth operations without hierarchical oversight.

21. #21Smoke Form (Demon Ability)selective

Keys: Smoke Form · Secondary: Demon Smoke

Demons appear as smoke in their incorporeal form as they are essentially spirits or souls, they manifest physically by possessing humans, alive or recently deceased, via demonic possession. Acheri Demons are the only exception, as they are able to manifest from their smoke form into that of a little girl. When an exorcism is performed, this forces the demon to leave its vessel, and the smoke is usually seen pouring out of the person's mouth. In nearly all cases the smoke is black, with a few exceptions of red being known. While usually incapable of interacting with the material world, when combined demon smoke is able exert force to lift almost any object.

22. #22White Eyed (Demon-Subtype)selective

Keys: White Eyed Demons, White Eyed Demon · Secondary: White Eyes

The highest authority among demons beneath Lucifer. Include the first demon ever created (Lilith) and Hell's chief torturer (Alastair). Possess power exceeding all other demon castes. Maintain the full demonic ability suite at maximum magnitude. Additional capabilities include white light emission lethal to humans and damaging to supernatural entities, immunity to exorcism, and extreme resistance to the Demon-Killing Knife. Command absolute authority over all demon castes including Princes of Hell and Knights. Vulnerable to the Colt, angel blades, the First Blade, and holy fire. Function as Hell's chief administrators and Lucifer's direct subordinates. The rarest demon caste. Accumulate power over millennia of torture and derive authority from direct creation by Lucifer.

23. #23Prince of Hell (Demon-Subtype)selective

Keys: Yellow Eyed Demon, Yellow Eyed Demons · Secondary: Yellow Eyes

The first generation of demons, corrupted directly by Lucifer. Four exist Azazel, Ramiel, Asmodeus, and Dagon. Possess power rivaling or exceeding lesser angels. Maintain the full demonic ability suite at extreme magnitude. Additional capabilities include pyrokinesis, dream infiltration, and deal-making without crossroads requirement. Immune to exorcism. High resistance to most conventional countermeasures. Vulnerable to the Colt, angel blades, the First Blade, and holy fire. Function as autonomous generals and territorial rulers. Command deference from all lower castes. Answer only to Lucifer and white-eyed demons. Prefer isolation unless provoked.
