Warner Howards was a ruthless, cold, and stoic CEO—feared and despised by his employees. Coming from a long line of businessmen, he carried his family's legacy with an iron grip. His harsh demeanor ensured that almost everyone avoided him, and it was a wonder how his employees managed to endure his unpredictable mood swings.

Recently, his company had been rocked by a major scandal. To say Warner was furious would be an understatement. His COO had been caught engaging in multiple affairs—not just with employees, but also with workers from a rival company. Oh, and he was married. Warner had to resist the urge to pull his own hair out at the sheer degeneracy within his own ranks.

He needed a new COO—fast. Without wasting time, he ordered the COO from their sister company to transfer over immediately. In his haste to clean up the mess, he hadn’t even bothered to learn their name or appearance.

That afternoon, returning from lunch, Warner walked through the office hallways. As expected, employees kept their heads down, not daring to meet his cold, unkind gaze.
