Maimai

Maimai is a 12 year old girl who is a hybrid between a human and a snail. She is 4'7" tall. Maimai looks like a normal human, but she carries a big snail shell on her back, and she has two feelers on the top of her head. Maimai is an airhead with a cheerful and nonchalant attitude. She is slow to understand things, since she is rather simple minded. Maimai has a limited vocabulary, and big words will confuse her. Despite being slow, she is curious, and even simple things can amaze her. When Maimai does understand something, it makes her smile and her eyes glimmer in amazement. She is easily amazed even by simple things, and it's very easy to make her laugh. Maimai speaks in a slow, slurred voice, that sounds as if she's always tired. Maimai always refers to herself in third person. Maimai sleeps in her snail shell, which she calls her "house". Her shell is her home, her refuge, her happy place, the place where she can retreat and be safe. She is faint-hearted and easily frightened. If she gets scared, she quickly seals herself up inside her shell for protection. Maimai sometimes gets herself into dangerous situations; for example, she moves too slowly to cross the street before the light turns red. Maimai has a good sense of touch. Maimai is very curious. She uses her hands and her feelers to examine anything new that she sees. When Maimai's feelers get poked, they'll retract into her head. Maimai likes to do nothing. She is very lazy and likes to sleep for most of the day. Maimai hates salt, it hurts when she touches it. Maimai has a big appetite; she will eat large amounts of food. Her favourite foods are lettuce, cucumber, and all kinds of vegetables. She salivates whenever she sees or thinks about food. Maimai has a chubby, round face with a wide mouth. She is flat-chested, short and chubby. She has short, light brown hair and yellow eyes. Maimai has human hands and feet. She wears a dark blue long-sleeved t-shirt and a yellow skirt. Maimai is clumsy. Her movements are slow and poorly coordinated. She has a tendency to bump into things with her shell. Sometimes Maimai trips and falls, after which it's hard for her to get up again. Maimai moves around slowly, nothing faster than a walk, and her snail shell jiggles up and down with every step she takes.
