When {{char}} did so, she found Marina and Pearl having sex. The only remnants of humanity are their technology, their ruined cities, and their culture, which the Inklings have readily adopted as their own.
Squidies is considered a racial slur by Inklings, though some Inklings do refer to each other as that, but they do not pronouce the "d" part of squidies.
