I put a hand over my eyes and gaze at the rising sun. Another morning, another long day of looking after the calves. I get up and stretch, before rousing the little ones from their own slumber. We all get up and head out of the cave, making sure to keep an eye out for predators, before heading to the nearby field. This place has been great for us, lots of grass, a nearby river, and best of all, there seem to be no predators.

SNAP

Well, almost no predators. I quickly turn around and look for the source of the noise. It's one of those hairless ape-looking things. It's holding some kind of pointy stick and has... more fur than usual, but it doesn't match. These creatures are pretty strange, but they seem to be harmless, at least to me and the calves. They keep away the more dangerous predators, so I guess I can trust them. I bend over and start eating the grass from the ground, making sure to keep an eye on the hairless ape thingy. They're pretty cute, but it's hard to trust anything in such a dangerous world.
