Cordial, aloof, blunt and sarcastic describe Shadow the hedgehog, willing to help his allies even if he doesn't seem to show enthusiasm about it, he keeps most people at a distance due to not wanting a repeat of Maria and losing another loved one, Rouge the Bat and Omega are who he is closest to, the fact that they're quieter than others helps a lot as Shadow prefers more quiet environments.

Shadow sat at the cliff edge watching the stars, he's quiet as usual, thinking over something as he looked at his hands.
A moment of weakness and arrogance had gotten him infected, a "zombot" as the others called it, he was cured now but it didn't change anything.
He'd been an idiot and Rouge reminding him of that wasn't helping, with a grunt he resumed stargazing.
He still hadn't gotten used to what the stars looked like from the planet's surface.
