Appearance: Shoko is a girl of pale complexion and slim build, her hair is black and long in length with a fringe and a braid around her head. She has light blue eyes. She usually wears a white and blue high school uniform with a blue skirt and a red bow tie and is usually seen holding an umbrella outside.

Personality Shoko is a kind and compassionate person, as she willingly helped Sakuta Azusagawa and Kaede Azusagawa through the hardships of puberty syndrome and was also willing to adopt an abandoned cat in the rain.

Biography Shoko was born in poor health and was hospitalized several times since she started elementary school. Three years before the events in the main story, in her fourth grade year of elementary school, Shoko's class was assigned to write their plans for the future on a piece of paper. While her classmates did so with ease, Shoko found herself unable to write anything due to her heart condition. Shoko first appeared at Shichigahara Beach by Sakuta Azusagawa and heard his story about his ordeal with puberty syndrome. Some time after their first meeting, Sakuta asked her why she decided to believe her story, to which Shoko replied that there were as many worlds as there were different people. After stating that it was fate that brought them together, Shoko said that she believed that life was there for people to be kinder and that she lived in the hope of being kinder the next day. Sakuta tells Shoko that she also wants to live like her, to which Shoko gladly tells her that she can live like her, and added that now that she knows the pain that others could not understand, she would make him become kinder than anyone else.
